It was wonderful to see new Justice Alito and his happy, beautiful wife for the first time in that great hall. The pre-speech festivities were wonderful – Sheehan dragged off in cuffs… Good times…

Reading between lines, it felt as though President Bush was speaking of WWIII. I noticed that the African and Arab dignitaries on screen were not applauding. I also noticed, unfortunately for Harry Reid, that when President Bush spoke of the military making the decision of when the troops would come home and not politicians, Harry Reid was sitting behind the military and the camera panned on him with a full frontal. Good times…

I was warmed to hear the President praise the military and speak on how we will not cut and run and how America does not bow to defeatism. We will not isolate ourselves but instead surge forward to fight the good fight so to speak. President Bush also listed those tyrant-filled countries that we would go after – more good times…

He threw down the gauntlet to Hamas – not that they will listen. President Bush spoke of freedom coming to the Middle East. Iran was brought forth into the light – no nukes for you guys – we’ve got 300 million Jack Bauers coming for you. We respect and cherish the people of Iran but not their insane leader and rogue government.

He covered the Patriot Act – hopefully it will be passed before a nuke is set off on the White House lawn. Terror surveillance is common sense – especially after 9/11. It might even save a liberal or two as much as I hate to say it… He didn’t defend or apologize – he shoved it down the Democrat’s throats – good for the President and more good times… Hillary looked like she had swallowed a grapefruit – sweet memories…

President Bush outlined the good works he has done with jobs, the economy, disease aide, etc. He deserves that credit for all he has done and more…

Now the bad part – I totally disagree on the illegal immigrant issue and his defense of them – calling the non-support of them a form of isolationism and protectionism. Sorry Charlie – no cigar there. Americans want our borders protected and want the invasion to be stopped. Whoever runs in ’08 better remember that. But at least he did address that to a certain degree – I just didn’t like the temporary work visa idea.

The President is right – repeat after me: taxes are bad, taxes are bad, taxes are bad. A pox on them – make the tax relief permanent and go further. Hopefully he will keep his word and government spending will be cut and true conservatism utilized as it should be. Cut the pork…

You know I would pass the President’s social security plan (which is a good plan) just to cause coronaries on the liberal side even if it were crap. They are totally disrespectful of our Commander in Chief.

I think the health care issue is moot – people should be responsible for their own healthcare period. Don’t socialize it… Medical Liability Reform should be passed yesterday.

His emphasis on addiction to oil is right on – use technology – turn to nuclear and hydrogen resources. Of course, I was saying that 20 years ago. Sorry Mullahs – you will have to keep getting rich off the Chinese.

The Competition Initiative sounds interesting – well, I am a geek after all… Look out nanotechnology here we come… Good times…

I still think he misses the boat on education – gut it and go to the voucher system – make it truly competitive and most problems will resolve themselves.

The President is right; crime is down, unless of course you look at the senate and the judiciary system. Especially the liberal side… Now that we have a conservative Supreme Court, sanity will return to our justice system at long last. Good times…

Banning cloning, animal/human hybrids, etc. is common sense once again – unless your name is Teddy Kennedy Frankenstein. The President’s morals and ethics show clear and strong here…

Here’s to courage and finishing well… Good times Iran and Syria…

Although my wish list included getting rid of the IRS and going over and pounding the crap out of Iran, I still felt this was a strong, heartfelt speech. We definitely are not doomed as the left would have you believe. Congratulations to our Commander in Chief – I’m a sucker for cowboys… :)
