Boston Magazine has just published a profile of our colleague Joseph Shahda, internet jihad counter terrorist. The article fairly represents the singular efforts of Shahda that have succeeded in closely down several dozen Jihadi websites and chat rooms. We had reached out to Shahda as a result of a piece in the New York Times , interviewed him and he quickly became a vital resource for ACT in sleuthing and combating internet jihad. Shahda has upset a number of government counter terrorism types and some alleged independent operators, as well, because, they think they are trolling for actionable intelligence when he disrupts their efforts by shutting down such internet sites and chat rooms. Shahda knows that these internet jihad websites and chat rooms are simply training terrorists and being used to foment attacks.
