Those famous words were uttered by John Hancock and Samuel Adams just before they tarred and feathered a customs agent/tax collector for the King and then rode him out of town on a rail immediately before the Boston Tea Party…

Ladies and gentlemen, I would make the case that today we are now more oppressed than we were just before the Revolutionary War and let me tell you why.

Arguably we are taxed at an even greater rate today on virtually everything we buy, sell and/or consume. We have no choice in the payment of these taxes if we are to survive or avoid prison. It is true that voters have voted in a number of these taxes – mostly out of ignorance and misconceptions or pressure from politicians. But that would have made no difference; one way or another those taxes would have come to pass. More have just been passed by our government using the argument that we “need” the money. Do we really? Most things that need fixing could be done between neighbors. Those who have children in school should pay for it. If it is a personal need, each of us should do our share but it should be independent of our government – either locally or nationally. There are those that get this and have furthered positions on a flat tax that would certainly ease the burden on Americans and allow them to function in something other than abject slavery. Neal Boortz is one such individual and America would do well to listen to his sage advice on the matter… Chuck Muth is another such individual. Perhaps it is time for another Boston Tea Party…

Onto education. Parents should have the right to educate their children in any way they see fit if it benefits the child. This means homeschooling, vouchers and private schools. The public school system is hopelessly broke and needs to be scrapped. What California is pulling with their ban on homeschooling is reprehensible and you will see even more people flee the state. The Governator needs to do something to restore freedoms to students and parents alike and tell the Teacher’s Union to take a hike – preferably off a high cliff somewhere on the California scenic coastline.

Guns, guns, guns… According to the 2nd Amendment we have the right to bear arms. It’s pretty clear to everyone it would seem but nutty leftists and politicians. Hands off guys unless you want to wind up on the endangered species list. We are all watching closely to see how the Supreme Court rules on the right to bear arms. I can’t imagine they will do anything but affirm what the Constitution did indeed mean. Also, the best way to secure this country is to ensure that our citizens are armed – if the government won’t or can’t protect us, you better bet that Americans will step up to the plate and ensure the enemy doesn’t get far.

Our government has blatantly told Americans to shut up and go away concerning illegal immigration, earmarks, and fighting for America’s safety by attacking Islamofascism – politicians take note, the American people will not apathetically sit by while you keep this up. There will come a day of reckoning and it may be sooner than you think. Americans are demanding that if you break the law you be held accountable – whether it be an illegal alien or a politician or someone wealthy and in power. You are not above the law. Secure our borders and ports before someone smuggles in nukes and gives us all a living nightmare to deal with.

There are so many other things bothering Americans – especially our economy where the banks are failing; people are losing their homes and jobs; and we face the very real possibility of a 2nd Depression. Both sides of the political isle seem to be only interested in their own needs and wants and are basically saying screw the American people. Remember, the American people put you there, they can remove you as well.

I feel it is time to have another movement, perhaps a Constitutional Convention where the Constitution is restored to its original meaning. You should never break what is not broken. It is my firm belief that if you are wealthy, you should not be allowed to hold office or govern a nation. That is not what our founding fathers intended. They also did not intend for the American people to become slaves under the soft yoke of employers, big business and government entitlements. People should work for themselves and we need to get back to that.

To each and every politician in DC and around the nation I would say, “Shame On You Sir, Shame On You…”
