This Sunday, May 11th is Mothers Day, and there are 2 great patriotic mothers that many Americans will pay tribute to. It’s a testament to the selfless nature of these two ladies that they would both take time away from their personal lives to lend their time, energy and efforts to support and honor America’s finest – our military men and women.

1. Patti Patton-Bader, Founder of Soldiers’ Angels

We here at Move America Forward have been blessed to work with the wonderful pro-troop organization, Soldiers’ Angels (http://soldiersangels.org). They are wonderful allies in the pro-troop movement! Patti Patton-Bader, the founder, is one of 15 finalists to be “America’s Favorite Mom” in a big NBC contest. There are five categories, and she is nominated with two other mom’s in the “military mom’s” category. The winner receives a $250,000 cash prize, and Patti has said she’d like to use the money to build a ranch for soldiers and their families to vacation at with assistance from Angel families.

2. Our own Melanie Morgan, Chairman of Move America Forward

Move America Forward was co-founded in early 2004 by radio and television celebrity Melanie Morgan and the Honorable Howard Kaloogian (R-California). Melanie’s taken over the reigns as Chairman of Move America Forward, and has visited our troops twice in the Middle East, organized over 37 TONS of care packages to be sent to our troops and helped personally distribute over 225,000 Christmas, Hanukkah and holiday greeting cards for our troops.

Melanie’s gone toe-to-toe with anti-American filmmaker, Michael Moore, anti-war activist Cindy Sheehan, and the radical anti-military leftists at Code Pink.

Melanie’s organized countless pro-troop “tours” across the nation, working with an outstanding team of Gold Star and Blue Star family members, and military veterans who have served this nation with honor and distinction.

Melanie Morgan has done all of this for free – not once receiving compensation from Move America Forward. In fact, Melanie has instead donated thousands upon thousands of dollars of her own personal money to MAF and a number of other pro-troop organizations.

Now it’s time to show Melanie how much we all appreciate HER!

On Saturday, May 10th, we’re holding a tribute event for Melanie, called “A Salute to Melanie Morgan.” It’s part of a $100,000 fundraising drive for Move America Forward – all the proceeds raised from the fundraiser will fund MAF’s summer pro-troop activities as the organization will be stepping up its efforts at a critical time in the war effort, and a critical time in the nation’s dialogue and debate about our troops and their missions.
