Many including me would like to see common-sense and sensiblity about this. It's important to protect the bigger community while also giving individuals as much freedom as possible within reason. No one needs to own semi-automatics or machine guns to defend themselves. The 2nd mentions "militia". You can interpret the words however you like, but just like with the Bible, there is a common sense way and gray areas to compromise on.
