From ICEJ:

The IDF announced Monday that back on April 15 its forces captured a Palestinian militiaman, Ala Abu Madif, who had gone to Iran for training. Madif is one of an estimated 2,000 Palestinians who have received weapons training in Iran since Israel withdrew from Gaza in 2005. Madif was a member of the Abu Rish group that separated from Fatah in the 1990s. He was captured in an IDF-Shin Bet incursion in southern Gaza near Khan Yunis. Madif went to Iran in May 2007 by entering Egypt through the Rafah border. He was supposedly part of a special group sent to the mountains in Iran to receive military training, said the IDF. In September 2007, Madif returned and became engaged in launching Kassam rockets at southern Israel, while also expressing interest in carrying out a suicide attack.
