Obama’s Dinner and a Show – Let Them Eat Cake…

By: Terresa Monroe-Hamilton

My husband and I have been together a long time and throughout our marriage we have had ‘date nights’ – that is when we could afford them and there were not other pressing responsibilities afoot. I think it is a good thing for spouses to spend ‘alone time’ together – in fact essential.

Having said that, even when we were making good money, we never jetted to New York in a Gulfstream-type plane, had dinner at the posh ‘Blue Hill Restaurant’ on Washington Place, then took in a play – Joe Turner’s Come and Gone’ at the Belasco Theater. All on the American people’s bankrupt dime of course…

Millions are losing their jobs and are behind on their mortgages. Businesses are being closed down (some simply because they don’t agree with our new President – who by the way is making sure his donors get great jobs with all the bennies…) and the dollar is sinking into a pit of no return. Thugs who harassed voters get away clean – because they were for Obama.

It’s as if the newly elected arrogant narcissist that vowed ‘Change’ in America, is saying, “Let the American people eat cake – bow before your leader and bask in my glory.” The disregard for our military, our religious principles, our very fabric as a country is staggering. But never fear – Obama will renew his commitment to Islamic nations next week. Well, that makes Americans feel sooo much better. While our government is diving headfirst into Marxism and enslaving all of us in debt, our fearless leader is wining and dining his spouse who is, for the first time, not ashamed to be an American – you know, now that it is socialist and now that her hubby is ruling it like a dictator – raping and pillaging until he is removed or there is nothing left.

Just another date night for the first couple – “Let them eat cake.”

GOP AWOL on Battling Obama’s Radical Agenda

By: Bob McCarty
Bob McCarty Writes

Every once in a while, I’m asked about my political affiliation. I always end up saying I’m a conservative before I’m a Republican. Below, I explain why.

While President Barack Obama and his liberal cronies in Congress continue to push hard to implement myriad so-called “reform” efforts aimed at reshaping the American landscape, it appears the Republican Party is wandering in the wilderness, lacking anything that looks like a cohesive strategy for battling the libs.

For example, the graphic above shows what I found when I went to the Republican National Committee’s YouTube Channel and searched for any references to the word “reform.” The result: No Videos found for ‘reform’.

Because health care reform is one of the most-controversial of the “reform” measures now being bantered about in the nation’s capitol, I decided to search the site for the terms, “healthcare” and “health care.” It produced the same results: Nothing!

Perhaps expecting too much from the party foolish enough to select Sen. John McCain (R-Ariz.) as its presidential nominee in 2008, I decided to venture into the world at large for evidence of anyone battling Obama’s government-run health care plans. I found advertisements like the one below, being aired by the group, Conservatives for Patients’ Rights.

While the video above is spot-on with it’s message, the organization behind it suffers from a credibility gap as a result of the person at its helm, Chairman Rick Scott.

Below is an ad paid for by Health Care for America Now, a group self-described as the nations largest health care campaign. It points out the flaws that cause a conservative like me to shudder in disbelief and wonder why on earth the most-visible opposition to Obama’s radical health care plans had to include someone like Scott as its “face.”

Why is White House Protecting Black Panthers?

By: Bob McCarty
Bob McCarty Writes

Today, we learn that the Obama administration has asked that charges of election day voter intimidation against three members of the New Black Panthers Party for Self-Defense be dropped. Now, we ask why?

According to a Washington Times editorial:

One of the defendants, Jerry Jackson, is an elected member of Philadelphia’s 14th Ward Democratic Committee and was a credentialed poll watcher for Barack Obama and the Democratic Party when the violations occurred. Rather conveniently, the Obama administration has asked that the cases against Mr. Jackson, two other defendants and the party be dropped.

On Nov. 4, 2008, I published a post about what I described as “tryouts” being held for the Civilian National Security Force being touted by then-presidential candidate Obama. That post, featuring the video above, highlighted the blatant voter-intimidation actions of the three men.

Take a look at the video above and decide whether you think the charges should be dropped. I think you’ll agree with me that the answer is a resounding “NO!”

Welcome to the Land of Hope and Change!

Black Conservative: Say ‘No!’ to Sonia Sotomayor

Coming from the projects, the story of President Barack Obama’s Supreme Court nominee, Sonia Sotomayor, is inspiring. Ironically, the success of Obama, a black, and Sotomayor, a Latina, epitomizes the availability of the American Dream to minorities as well as the greatness of America. And yet, both harbor resentments and seek to reshape America.

Here is a quote from Sotomayor: “I would hope that a wise Latina woman, with the richness of her experience, would more often than not reach a better conclusion than a white male who hasn’t lived that life.”

Imagine if a white male nominee made this racist statement in reverse. He would be toast!

Despite Sotomayor’s heart-warming story, Republicans MUST have the courage to say “NO!” to this radical, extreme left, agenda-driven nominee.

Like Sotomayor, I too lived in the projects. Allow me to share the tale of why I am a proud black conservative.

Confessions of a Black Conservative

Young Lloyd Marcus

A urine smell permeated the stairwell. In the darkness, due to smashed light bulbs, the sound of broken wine bottles underfoot echoed off the concrete walls. I was nine years old. With the elevators out of service half of the time due to vandalism, many times I was forced to take the scary trek into the shadow of death up the stairwell to our sixth-floor apartment in the projects of East Baltimore.

This was a far cry from the brand-spanking-new building we moved into just two years earlier. I remember our excitement when my parents, three younger siblings and I moved in our apartment. It was a dream come true, moving from our leaky roof ghetto into a place where everything, including the appliances, was new. We were one of the first in the eleven-story, all-black-residents building. While a few people kept their apartments lovely, most seemed committed to destroying the building.

All I kept hearing was that everything was the “white man’s fault.” Even at age nine, I sarcastically thought to myself, “How can we stop these evil white people from sneaking in here at night peeing in the stairwell, leaving broken wine bottles, smashing the light bulbs and attacking people?”

My early experience living in the government project taught me that some folks simply have a ghetto mindset. I also witnessed the trap of government welfare. And why were so many around me angry and violent despite getting free housing, food and health care?

It was the late ’50s when my dad was one of the first blacks to break the color barrier into the Baltimore Fire Department. The sight of him in his crisp dress-blue firefighter uniform made everyone proud, though none more than me. With dad’s new job, the government raised our rent to $72 per month. I remember my dad saying, “Seventy-two dollars! They must be crazy. We’re movin’!” We moved to a suburban black community. I truly believe I would not be who I am today had we stayed in the projects.

Several of my cousins stayed enslaved to the system and the bigotry of low expectations. Because true self-esteem comes from personal achievement, they possessed very little. They lived angry and bitter lives consumed with serial impregnating, out-of-wedlock births and substance abuse. An outrageously high number died prematurely.

So when I hear politicians pandering to the so-called poor of America, it turns my stomach. I’ve witnessed the deterioration of the human spirit, wasted lives and suffering that happens when government becomes “daddy.”

Self-Defense Claim on Trial in Oklahoma City

By: Bob McCarty
Bob McCarty Writes

Jerome Ersland, a 57-year-old Oklahoma City pharmacist, is in court today, facing first-degree murder charges for his role in the May 19 shooting death of 16-year-old Antwun Parker.

The video above shows how things went down: Parker and an accomplice entered Reliable Discount Pharmacy while brandishing handguns and wearing ski masks; Ersland reacted by using his personal sidearm to defend himself and his coworkers.

The prosecutor will, no doubt, argue that Ersland used excessive force to thwart the robbery attempt. I think a jury will find in Ersland’s favor. What do you think the outcome will be?

More details are available via this article at The Oklahoman.

Should Japan Replace ‘Secret Weapon’ with Nukes?

By: Bob McCarty
Bob McCarty Writes

Should Japan replace the “secret weapon” that has protected the East Asian nation for more than 60 years with nuclear weapons? That’s the question many people are asking in the wake of North Korea detonating a nuclear weapon and firing missiles earlier this week.

In the video above, Charles Krauthammer tells a Fox News Channel audience, “We need a nuclear Japan.” Like many in Japan, it appears as if the syndicated columnist has lost confidence in the “secret weapon” that is said to have protected “The Land of the Rising Sun” since the bombing of Nagasaki almost 64 years ago. That secret weapon became the subject of a 2007 movie, “Big Man Japan,” a clip of which appears below:

You Can’t Rest on Imaginary Laurels!

By: Bob McCarty
Bob McCarty Writes

“We can’t rest on our laurels, because we’ve got a lot of work to do.”

President Barack Obama was only half-right when, according to Reuters, he shared those words with an audience at a Democratic National Committee fundraising event in California. Why? Because, as evidenced by the post-stimulus unemployment claims chart shown above, the laurels exist only in Obama’s mind!

If Passed, Cap-and-Trade Bill Will Cost You Dearly

By: Bob McCarty
Bob McCarty Writes

The Waxman-Markey cap-and-trade bill will hit consumers of petroleum fuels especially hard by dramatically increasing the costs of goods and services as noted in the graphic above, according to two groups closely following the legislation.

In a three-page document (pdf) forwarded to me early this afternoon, American Petroleum Institute officials warn that people who use automobiles, trucks, planes, trains, heating oil and other non-transportation petroleum products will shoulder the lion’s share of the burden. In addition, the inequitable nature of the legislation could worsen the pain for everyone.

If, rather than read the API document above, you’d prefer seeing a “Top 10″ list of problems associated with Waxman-Markey, take a look at the Top 10 List of Problems associated with cap-and-trade legislation below, courtesy of the Heritage Foundation:

1. Cap-and-trade is a massive energy tax;

2. It will not make a substantive impact on the environment;

3. It will kill jobs;

4. It will cause electricity bills and gas prices to sharply increase;

5. It will outsource manufacturing jobs and hurt free trade;

6. It will make you choose between energy, groceries, clothing and haircuts;

7. It will be highly susceptible to fraud and corruption;

8. It will hurt senior citizens, the poor, and the unemployed the worst;

9. It will cost American families over $3,000 a year; and

10. President Obama admitted “Electricity Rates Would Necessarily Skyrocket” under a cap-and-trade program (January 2008). [Note: See my post for more details.]

I urge you to read, understand and take action upon this information — and DO IT NOW!

In addition to sharing this information with everyone you know, I urge you to CONTACT YOUR ELECTED OFFICIALS in Washington, D.C., and demand they oppose this dangerous and costly legislation.
