One of my favorite lines from the movie 300 can be adapted to America quite nicely:

It is not a question of what an American citizen should do, nor a husband, nor a king. Instead, ask yourself, what should a free man do?

I wrote an article a couple of days ago: Tick, Tick, Tick – The Pressure on Americans Builds. In this article, I put forth what could happen should American anger boil over due to the trampling of American rights and founding principles. I pointed out that a rerun of the French Revolution could happen and I still stand by that. That is a worst case scenario and I have always been a proponent of prepare for the worst and pray for the best.

A number of trolls commented on that article accusing me basically of fomenting revolution and blaming the left when the right was to blame for the Holocaust Museum shooting… Nothing could be further from the truth concerning my ideals. Von Brunn believed in radical left and right ideals. He mostly hated everyone who was not like him… I still believe most of his basic ideals were leftist in nature. Regardless, the guy is nuts and dangerous.

As a free American and as a member of the majority Conservative population of America, I believe that first and foremost there are peaceful ways to change the catastrophic destination this country is hurtling towards. I have written congressmen and women, our senators, our leaders and even our President for years. I strongly believe in the Tea Party movement and peaceful assemblage and protest. I absolutely believe that a massive voting out of our so-called leaders in office will take place starting in 2010. None of these are violent methods. Violence has its place, but only as a last resort. But I don’t believe that we even have six months to undo the horrid damage that our government has forced upon America much less another year or two. Action must begin now and with each of us…

As to my being right or left – I am a constitutionalist conservative who believes in G-d, morality, free-market ideals, very limited government and the reduction, if not elimination, of taxation.

Having said that, I believe very strongly that it is way past time that each American look at themselves and take a long, hard look at your country and government. No longer can we just work and be with our families – no longer will someone take care of this madness for us. Each of us must take measure and stand up for what we believe and stop the suicidal downward spiral America has taken. Ask yourself what would a free man or woman do… Then take action to right the course of what was the most free nation on the planet and what can be once again.

Update: A great article over at BlackFive: Unprevoked Discrimination Against Veterans
