Taxpayers want politicians to make spending decisions in the best interest of the taxpayers, but the special interests that are funding the elections want just the opposite. So money that should be spent on schools and other infrastructure is spent on roads to nowhere and no-bid contracts instead. It is what it is until we decide to change it.

Only public funding of campaigns will reverse that trend.</description>
