And someone has to pay for the little things… You know like small business and employment. Not to mention our second amendment rights guaranteed by that thorn in the proverbial liberal side, The Constitution…

Bad things come in twos in New Jersey with Governor Corzine and the One Gun a Month” bill (A339). From Evan Nappen (who spoke on Gun Talk this weekend):

“Retail Dealers will only be able to obtain one handgun a month from any source except another Retail Dealer (who is not likely to sell any of their dwindling inventory to another dealer.) As dealer inventories sell out, they will not be able to replace it except at the worthless pace of one gun a month. In a short time, there will be no handguns left for dealers to sell.”

Notice how the incompetent mainstream media hasn’t covered this at all? They are too in-the-tank for anti-gun aspiring-supreme Sonia Sotomayor. However, Mr. Nappen has written about these laws in-depth and has been talking about this for years – so, NoisyRoom.net is going to scream it for him and pass it on. Here’s what’s in store after November, 2009 according to Mr. Nappen:

  • Kill Retail Dealer business by cutting them off from their primary suppliers of new and used handguns (wholesalers, manufacturers, distributors and individual private sellers), all of whom are NOT exempted from the legislation. Dealer inventories will eventually drop to nothing.
  • Virtually End the ability for a New Jersey resident to special order a new handgun from a Retail Dealer by cutting off Retail Dealers from purchasing more than one handgun, except from another Retail Dealer. (Unless you are the lucky “one” chosen by your Retail Dealer for that month’s one gun quota, you are S.O.L.)
  • Potentially Cripples Handgun Procurement by the US Armed Forces, the National Guard, recognized military organizations, nuclear power plant security, public utilities, institutional guards, banks, security agencies and private detective agencies, who are NOT covered by the bill’s “law enforcement” exemption.

Governor Corzine is notorious concerning his political machinations and his underhanded dealings in New Jersey: Cardinale: The Corzine Record on Hiring Politically Connected Lawyers. But he is even worse when it comes to guns – Corzine is all about going after gun rights while ignoring gun traffickers. Wouldn’t want the good people of Jersey to be able to protect their businesses, homes, families and selves from the government (er, crime), but I repeat myself these days…

From The Philadelphia Inquirer:

But critics labeled the plan “feel-good” legislation. They said it would have little impact on criminals, instead impinging on the rights of legal gun users who already go through background checks and notify their local police when purchasing handguns.

“Gangs don’t go through police background checks,” said Sen. Marcia Karrow (R., Hunterdon).

Scott Bach, president of the Association of New Jersey Rifle and Pistol Clubs, an NRA affiliate, said the bill was just “symbolic” in a state that already has some of the nation’s toughest gun laws.

“The bill targets only law-abiding citizens, does nothing to address illegal gun trafficking, and represents the Legislature’s desire to target gun rights instead of criminal behavior,” Bach said.

If you are wondering who the other states are, here’s the list: South Carolina, Virginia, Maryland and California.

This is a straight-up violation of our second amendment rights. Here’s a tip for New Jersey, Maryland, South Carolina, Virginia and California: WANTED – new leaders who support our founding father’s vision and The Constitution… Or you can just deal with the American public, but maybe that is why you are doing this in the first place – control and suppression of Americans and their rights.
