You’ve been BECKed!

I posted an article at Free Republic from the SF Gate in which Code Pinko Medea Benjamin was quoted saying that Van Jones was “swiftboated”. This elicited a comment I thought worthy of sharing, adding yet another verb to the political lexicon…

Swift boating should be defined as the exposing of a poltroon who inflates his biography.

This is often confused, quite deliberately by the mainstream media, with “borking” which should be defined as “attack viciously a candidate or appointee, especially by misrepresentation in the media.” According to William Safire in The New York Times.

Our mission on FreeRepublic should be to “Swift boat” the unworthy and to prevent the “borking” of the worthy.

Neither, he was BECKed.

FR Definition:

BECK

–verb (used with object)

To destroy the political career of someone by repeatedly using the target’s own recorded words to vilify themselves.

Origin:
2009, Americanism; after Glenn Beck forced the resignation of an 0bama Czar by using film clips and sound bites.

Example:
Van Jones was BECKed this week.

Doncha love it? LOL…
