I do… I lost friends, business associates – my best friend lost several cousins who were police officers. I remember – I remember the shock, the grief, the anger… And while the White House today laughingly calls this a day of service with no mention of our military, I remember it as a day of black loss and courage. I remember our military and our leaders. Compared to our so-called leaders today, they were titans of courage and integrity. Just look at the Coast Guard fiasco today that shook DC and the nation – what utter cruel indifference on today of all days. It’s a disgrace.
Add another Obama insult to injury on 9-11. First, he desecrated the memory of 9-11 with his planned proclamation of his mandatory civilian service on 9-11, which he has designated a “National Day of Service.” And now 9-11 has yet another title: State Department personnel are supposed to pray with Muslims on the newly declared “Interfaith Day of Service,” whatever that means on 9-11.
September 11, which should be a somber day of mourning and reflection (on how the hell we got here), will be a day when Obama — in a celebratory mode — makes his big announcement. The whole thing is depraved. And yes, it really is mandatory. The Generations Invigorating Volunteerism and Education Act – the GIVE Act – calls for a commission to study “whether a workable, fair, and reasonable mandatory service requirement for all able young people could be developed.”
Meanwhile, an unclassified State Department “action request” encourages State officials to “consider organizing an Interfaith Day of Service in their host countries as a way to commemorate the anniversary of the tragic events of September 11, 2001.”
Oh. My. God. This feels totally unreal… Like being down the rabbit hole…
Today is the eighth anniversary of 9/11. Remember the thousands who were murdered that day. Fly your flag all weekend, not only for the ones who died, but for the 9/12 and tea party demonstrations around the country and in Washington, DC. Pray for Glenn Beck and his family. Pray for Michelle Malkin and her family. Pray for all those who are fighting the encroaching evil darkness descending on America because of the corrupt politicians who are forcing Americans into a Marxist form of slavery and compulsory servitude.
From Garry Hamilton:
Quote:
The current administration seems bound and determined to forget 9/11. To this end, it grovels before those who wish to kill us, disarms those who wish to protect us (our military, our CIA), frees those who have raised their hands against us, and tries to turn 9/11 into a socialist worker’s holiday.
As I read this, an outstandingly inappropriate movie line occurred to me:
“It doesn’t matter. It’s in the past.” — Rafiki — The Lion King
One might conclude from watching these . . . people . . . in action that the past only matters to the degree that it’s useful in justifying the Grand Plan. “And, really, only the Grand Plan matters. And since the Grand Plan is in the future — as a monument to our efforts — anything that’s in the past no longer matters. And matters even less if it distracts from our narrative. The greatness of our future must not be overshadowed by any seeming greatness in the past. Therefore, paint over the past wherever this problem appears.”
In a strictly academic sense, by way of a student project to illustrate the principles delineated in his book, I think Orwell would have found this student’s work above average as a way of nullifying history.
Now, who’s got that strategy writeup we did for replacing Christmas?
This is beautiful:
‘MEET ME IN THE STAIRWELL’
You say you will never forget where you were when
you heard the news On September 11, 2001.
Neither will I..
I was on the 110th floor in a smoke filled room
with a man who called his wife to say ‘Good-Bye.’ I
held his fingers steady as he dialed. I gave him the
peace to say, ‘Honey, I am not going to make it, but it
is OK..I am ready to go.’
I was with his wife when he called as she fed
breakfast to their children. I held her up as she
tried to understand his words and as she realized
he wasn’t coming home that night.
I was in the stairwell of the 23rd floor when a
woman cried out to Me for help. ‘I have been
knocking on the door of your heart for 50 years!’ I said.
‘Of course I will show you the way home – only
believe in Me now.’
I was at the base of the building with the Priest
ministering to the injured and devastated souls.
I took him home to tend to his Flock in Heaven. He
heard my voice and answered.
I was on all four of those planes, in every seat,
with every prayer. I was with the crew as they
were overtaken. I was in the very hearts of the
believers there, comforting and assuring them that their
faith has saved them.
I was in Texas , Virginia , California , Michigan , Afghanistan .
I was standing next to you when you heard the terrible news.
Did you sense Me?
I want you to know that I saw every face. I knew
every name – though not all know Me. Some met Me
for the first time on the 86th floor.
Some sought Me with their last breath.
Some couldn’t hear Me calling to them through the
smoke and flames; ‘Come to Me… this way… take
my hand.’ Some chose, for the final time, to ignore Me.
But, I was there.
I did not place you in the Tower that day. You
may not know why, but I do.. However, if you were
there in that explosive moment in time, would you have
reached for Me?
Sept. 11, 2001, was not the end of the journey
for you . But someday your journey will end. And I
will be there for you as well. Seek Me now while I may
be found. Then, at any moment, you know you are
‘ready to go.’
I will be in the stairwell of your final moments.
God
There will be a time when we are all together again. Until then, I’ll remember that day and the 2996 that perished and the bastards that murdered them. There is retribution yet to be had, but it will come…
Quote from The High Road:
“Well, we elected a President who (not counting the attack itself, which he probably didn’t completely approve of) sympathizes more with the hijackers’ views of America than mine. It’s the hip thing to do for a preppie academic leftie activist who never grew up.
What’s a greater threat? Osama in a cave, or Obama in the White House?
