The missile shield to be placed by the US in Poland and the Czech Republic is officially toast… Obama’s timing is great though – Rush Limbaugh pointed out the date:

The 1939 Soviet invasion of Poland was a military operation that started without a formal declaration of war on 17 September 1939, during the early stages of World War II, sixteen days after the beginning of the Nazi German attack on Poland. It ended in a decisive victory for the Soviet Union’s Red Army.

Nice… Nothing like giving the proverbial finger to Poland – way to support our allies O! At least President Bush will never have to look into Obama’s eyes searching for his soul and instead finding a cold, black abyss.

JammieWearingFool puts it best today:

The message is clear – if Obama rejects the plan drafted under Bush, it will mean that he also fails to comprehend many things in the United States. And that is very bad for America.

No doubt, Putin is laughing his ass off. “Mine! Mine! Europe is all mine!”

And all the oil and natural gas too – which is part of Russia’s master plan while cuddling with Iran.

Citing mobility and cost-effectiveness (which is a laugh for this administration, except America is not laughing), our esteemed leader nonchalantly declares America to be impotent and toothless. Saying new intel says that Iran’s missile capabilities are not as advanced as previously thought (you are right on that one – they are far more advanced than previously thought), while literally begging to get us smacked down. It appears that Obama is trying to force America to kneel before her enemies. Just one thing though, our biggest enemy lies within our very own borders.

This is bad news for all who care about the US commitment to the transatlantic alliance and the defence of Europe as well as the United States. It represents the appalling appeasement of Russian aggression and a willingness to sacrifice American allies on the altar of political expediency. A deal with the Russians to cancel missile defence installations sends a clear message that even Washington can be intimidated by the Russian bear.

What signal does this send to Ukraine, Georgia and a host of other former Soviet satellites who look to America and NATO for protection from their powerful neighbour? The impending cancellation of Third Site is a shameful abandonment of America’s friends in eastern and central Europe, and a slap in the face for those who actually believed a key agreement with Washington was worth the paper it was written on.

America – are you ready to submit to Russia and the Middle East? Is this the ‘change’ you voted for?
