Last week was very busy for the campaign; I have so much news to share with you. On Tuesday I signed the Taxpayer Protection Pledge. Please visit my website at www.ElizabethHalseth.com to see a copy of my pledge. I proudly signed the pledge that made my opposition to tax increases clear and absolute.

Friday night I had the honor of speaking at the Nevada Federation of Republican Women’s bi-annual convention. I addressed the group on the importance of using new media technology such as Facebook, Twitter, My Space, and blogs to help get the Republican message out and to build support networks.

Saturday morning Team Halseth took part in the Las Vegas Heart Walk to raise money for and awareness of heart disease. It was great to be among thousands of people making a difference by participating in this event.

After the walk we hosted a tailgate party at the UNLV vs BYU football game. We all had a really good time meeting the fans, barbequing, and throwing the football around. After the tailgate party it was back to the Palace Station for the Nevada Federation of Republican Women’s banquet. The event was a big success with great speeches given by some of Nevada’s top Republican officials. Congratulations to the newly-elected NFRW officers. I know they will do an excellent job representing the Republican women of Nevada.

All through the week I made great contact with voters from my district listening to their concerns and ideas for the future.

I want to give special thanks to all the people who donated to my campaign. We are well on our way to our 30-day goal and with your help I know we will make it. If you have not yet made a contribution, please join our ‘13 for 13′ program by visiting www.ElizabethHalseth.com and investing in our campaign.

This week will be just as busy. I will be speaking about my campaign at the Las Vegas Republican Townhall Group meeting on Wednesday, October 14th at 6:30 pm at Charlie’s Lakeside Inn and Casino at 8603 W. Sahara – it’s on the southwest corner of West Sahara and Durango. This is a very active group that is growing larger every month. I hope to see you there.

Also on Wednesday evening I will be attending the Nevada Innovative Coalition for Education Forum on Atomic Energy and Education in Nevada. The forum will take place on October 14th from 6:00 pm until 9:00 pm at the Atomic Energy Museum located at 755 E. Flamingo Road. Please come out and see what kinds of things are in store for the future and what is possible. I hope to see you all there on October 14th.

I will be ending the week in Newport Beach, California at the Western Conservative Political Action Conference. While there I will be listening to Republican speakers from all across the country lay out the road map to our victory in 2010.

We have a long race ahead of us and you can make the difference. Please visit my website at ElizabethHalseth.com to find ways to get involved, sign up for our newsletter, and invest in our campaign. With all of us working together, I know we will win in 2010.
