Mr. Smith Joins the Tea Party Movement
I have known for a long, long time that the so-called hallowed halls of Congress were full of graft and corruption. But the rot goes far deeper than most suspected. Chicago-style mafia tactics are now fully deployed and violence and intimidation are the watchwords of the day – simply look at ACORN and SEIU along with many, many others connected to President Barrack Obama. Mr. President, no one – NO ONE – is above the law or above answering to the American public. Your debt to Americans is coming due and soon…
Showing a tremendous disregard and utter contempt for the American people, the House passed the healthcare bill on Saturday with Pelosi scurriously leading the way… Now, this heinous bill goes to the Senate where I pray it dies a quick and unceremonious death, sparing America further debasement and the utter errosion of our rights as free citizens within our own borders.
How long will America stand for the arrogance and elitism flaunted by our elected leaders? Many have begun to fight already and I choose to stand with them, joining the Tea Party Movement that has been egregiously maligned by the media and by our political ruling class.
Now is not the time to back down, but to surge forward with the Tea Party Movement – to make a stand against the filth and evil that permeates the White House and all connected to those that populate the Senate and the House. I would wager that the majority of Americans no longer care what party someone belongs to – they care about ethics, morality, values and in general honesty. I personally don’t put nearly as much emphasis on what you are saying as compared to what you have done in the past. I will look at you historically and gauge your sincerity from there.
With so many enemies within, Americans are poised to return our Republic to its Constitutional roots. Enough of the Czars; enough of the Marxist policies being foisted on us daily; enough of the lies, greed and manipulation. Enough! Ordinary Americans can take back our leadership. Everyday Americans can once again limit government and its power, limit spending and limit infringement on our rights.
Our leaders have a penchant for accusing others of exactly what they do. Meetings behind closed doors, not reading or even reviewing bills written by unknown individuals, ignoring tax evasion and graft, aligning with the UN rather than America, excluding others of another political affiliation, spending with full intent to destroy the financial system, coddling our enemies without and within, and a myriad of other treasonous actions have become all too commonplace from our leaders in Washington. Do you really think our founding fathers would have stood for this? Heck, do you think our grandparents would have stood for this?
By deriding those who would stand against you on healthcare, spending and other issues, you have awakened the American giant – those individuals who have the courage and backbone that our founding fathers had and who are more than willing to pledge their lives, their fortunes and their sacred honor to protect America, our Constitution, our freedoms and our way of life. Take note gentlemen and women, we are coming and we will be heard.

Paul Revere’s Ride
Massachusetts Colony was a hotbed of sedition in the spring of 1775. Preparations for conflict with the Royal authority had been underway throughout the winter with the production of arms and munitions, the training of militia (including the minutemen), and the organization of defenses. In April, General Thomas Gage, military governor of Massachusetts decided to counter these moves by sending a force out of Boston to confiscate weapons stored in the village of Concord and capture patriot leaders Samuel Adams and John Hancock reported to be staying in the village of Lexington.
The atmosphere was tense, word of General Gage’s intentions spread through Boston prompting the patriots to set up a messaging system to alert the countryside of any advance of British troops. Paul Revere arranged for a signal to be sent by lantern from the steeple of North Church – one if by land, two if by sea. On the night of April 18, 1775 the lantern’s alarm sent Revere, William Dawes and other riders on the road to spread the news. The messengers cried out the alarm, awakening every house, warning of the British column making its way towards Lexington. In the rider’s wake there erupted the peeling of church bells, the beating of drums and the roar of gun shots – all announcing the danger and calling the local militias to action.
In the predawn light of April 19, the beating drums and peeling bells summoned between 50 and 70 militiamen to the town green at Lexington. As they lined up in battle formation the distant sound of marching feet and shouted orders alerted them of the Redcoats’ approach. Soon the British column emerged through the morning fog and the confrontation that would launch a nation began.

Twenty-three-year-old Sylvanus Wood was one of the Lexington militia who answered the call that spring morning. Several years after the event he committed his recollection to paper in an affidavit sworn before a Justice of the Peace which was first published in 1858.
