In his first year in office, Barack Obama has been steadily and stealthily building a coalition of forces, including civilians and even our own children, to fulfill his promise of creating a national security force here in the United States. He took it a step further, by Executive Order, when he granted Interpol (International Police) free reign to operate within our country, free from the confines of our laws and our Constitution and with no oversight whatsoever from any American law enforcement agency. Obama has also expanded numerous Civilian Corps programs to include mandatory civil service, many of them targeting and recruiting our children and young adults into “Youth Brigades.” Sound familiar?

In addition to this buildup of forces, the US Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA), which is under the umbrella of the Department of Homeland Security, has been busy constructing and renovating numerous “national emergency centers” in each of FEMA’s 10 regions throughout the US. These centers, as directed by the Department of Defense, are to house at least two state of the art command & control centers each, which are to be in “full and ready” mode, 24/7. They are to be capable of “housing large numbers of individuals” for “extended periods of time.” Many of these facilities have large outdoor yards, complete with guard towers, electronic turnstiles and razor-wire fencing, with the razor wire pointing INWARD in order to keep people IN and not OUT. They resemble detainment centers more than they do emergency housing facilities.

The existence of these camps, coupled with Presidential Executive Orders giving the President and Department of Homeland Security control over national essential functions in the event of a declared national emergency, have resulted in concerns that the camps could easily be used to forcefully detain American Citizens for unconstitutional purposes.

Most disturbing is the revelation of just who the Department of Homeland Security has zeroed in on as being potential threats to the Homeland. In a report issued under Janet Napolitano (Secretary of DHS) in April 2009, there is absolutely NO mention of radical Islamist groups, whom we know are already here on US soil. Instead, the report which was issued to law enforcement agencies throughout the US, urges these agencies to watch out for “Rightwing Extremists.” It goes on to explain that these groups are people who are “dissatisfied” with government, returning Military Veterans, pro-life groups, pro-gun rights groups, religious groups, etc. Hello! More than half of the people in this country could easily be categorized under one or more of those headings! Now WE are the enemy?

One can see how easily an entire group of citizens could have their constitutional freedoms stripped from them in the event that the President declares a “national emergency” for any reason. Whether it be for forced vaccinations or quarantine during a perceived pandemic, or a perceived threat from a group of “rightwing extremists,” the legislation, directives and Executive Orders are already in place to hand the President dictator status in times of declared, and not necessarily genuine, national emergencies. The President has the absolute authority to institute Martial law throughout the country during one of these “emergencies.” When that happens, you can kiss the Constitution and the Bill of Rights goodbye.

The most recent Executive Order issued by President Obama came on January 11, 2010. EO 13528, Establishment of the Council of Governors, is a concrete step toward eliminating the independent authority and dissolving the sovereignty of the individual States. The order states that this Council of 10 Governors, hand picked by the President, shall meet with the Secretaries of Defense and Homeland Security to discuss matters involving the National Guard of the various States, homeland defense, civil support and the synchronization and INTEGRATION of State and Federal military activities WITHIN the United States. Interestingly enough, these 10 Governors just happen to line up within the 10 FEMA Regions. Coincidence? With a stroke of his pen, and with no input from Congress or the American people, Obama has further undermined the Posse Comitatus Act, the intention of which was to substantially limit the powers of the federal government to use the military for law enforcement within the US.

One of Obama’s hand-picked appointees to this Council, Governor Jay Nixon of Missouri, gave us a recent glimpse into his mindset concerning domestic terrorism. Just last year, he was responsible for the issuance of a directive to all law enforcement agencies in his state. These documents listed over 32 characteristics police should watch for as signs or links to domestic terrorists. Police were instructed to look for Americans who were concerned about the following: unemployment, taxes, illegal immigration, gangs, border security, abortion, high costs of living, gun restrictions, FEMA, the IRS, the Federal Reserve and the North American Union. They were also warned that these “terrorists” might like gun shows, short wave radios, combat movies, movies with white male heroes, Tom Clancy novels, and Conservative Constitutionalist politicians, such as Ron Paul. Police were even warned to look for vehicles with bumper stickers for these conservative candidates on them! In essence, this report attempted to politicize law enforcement and cast suspicion on millions of Americans who hold conservative beliefs. Yet THIS is one of the shining stars the President has selected to help govern the military activities with regards to domestic terrorism threats in the homeland. A person who thinks someone concerned about unemployment & high costs of living is a potential domestic terrorist? Are you waking up yet?

Thankfully, there are some members of Congress who are waking up to this assault on our sovereignty and our Constitutional rights and freedoms. Congressman (and former FBI agent) Michael Rogers, along with eleven other congressional co-sponsors, has introduced legislation to fight this travesty. HR 4453, The Interpol Immunities Oversight Act, would repeal Barack Obama’s Executive Orders 12425 and 13524, the ones granting immunity and special privileges to Interpol. These Representatives recognize the danger in allowing an international police force, the strong arm of the United Nations, to operate without restriction within our country. Interpol has the authority to enforce international laws and treaties, such as the proposed UN Small Arms Treaty, which Obama and Secretary of State Clinton have expressed support for. If this is ratified into international law, just imagine the conflict created when Interpol tries to enforce that law in the United States, where we are protected by the Second Amendment right to bear arms. Interpol, being immune to our laws and Constitution, would have the ultimate authority and it would have been granted by Obama’s Executive Orders. As an attorney who studied Constitutional law, don’t think for one minute that Obama doesn’t fully understand the implications of his orders. These EO’s provide a very dangerous “back door” for international law to supersede our Constitution and crush our liberties. I urge each one of you reading this today to contact your Representatives in Congress and urge them to sign on and support this very important bill.

Americans cannot continue to bury their heads in the sand while our sovereignty is being sold out from under us. We are losing our freedoms, our liberties and our Republic at an alarming rate of speed. Many are awakening to the realization that we are on very shaky ground, but many more still have no understanding of just how dire the situation is. We need to spread the word, to educate people and encourage them to get their heads in the game before it’s too late. If the masses continue to sit idly by and don’t get actively involved in taking this country back, we WILL lose the Republic. There is no doubt. The time is now to get informed, get involved and get serious about turning things around.
