Tea Party Express Rally in Clinton Township

The national Tea Party Express (website: www.TeaPartyExpress.org) motorcade is coming to the Greater Detroit Metro Area this Sunday, April 11th for a major tea party rally at the Civic Center Park & Historical Village located in Clinton Township.

The Tea Party Express is holding 10 tea party rallies across Michigan as part of this national tour – far more tea parties in the Great Lake State than any other state across the nation.
Thousands of people turned out for Saturday’s Tea Party Express rallies in Traverse City and Grand Rapids.
“Michigan is one of the top focuses for the Tea Party Express as we approach the November 2010 elections, just ask Bart Stupak,” said Mark Williams, Chairman of the Tea Party Express.
The Tea Party Express held 5 rallies in Congressman Bart Stupak’s district (a 6th if you count Traverse City, which is not in the district, but the media market does serve the district) in addition to the launch of a $250,000 “Defeat Bart Stupak” TV and radio ad campaign.
Stupak saved the tea party movemnt $200,000 by announcing his retirement within days of the launch of the campaign, allowing the Tea Party Express to halt expenditures after just over $50,000 had been spent on the effort.
“Bart Stupak was the first target in Michigan for the Tea Party Express. But, sadly, there are many more tax-spend-bailout politicians throughout the state who need to receive a pink slip in the November elections,” Williams said.
