No candidate would be associated with Gawker’s hit piece, or welcome campaign appearances with Obama if he was comfortably in the lead coming down the stretch to an Election Day victory. I’ve been smelling upset in this race for weeks, and the smell is stronger today.
While it’s on my mind, how can NOW justify their continued support for the Democrats when their sleaze attacks on female candidates nationwide seem so centrally coordinated? In the past two years, Palin, O’Donnell, Haley (S. Carolina) and Ayotte (New Hampshire) have all been targets of sexual innuendo. There are probably more, too. To me, it’s obvious that NOW cares nothing about women as such but womens’ actions and “rights.” Thus, sex is merely a subset of the liberalism that is really the agenda.
If the Delaware race wasn’t so high-profile – because of the concerted effort by the national media to paint O’Donnell as a flake – NOW wouldn’t be in the uncomfortable position of having to choose between supporting a Marxist who’ll do anything to be elected and standing up for a woman whose opinions differ from theirs but emanate from a woman.
