Time Magazine

Time Magazine asked the question this week concerning the Constitution, “Does It Still Matter?” You’re damn right it does. And there are millions of us willing to fight and die for the Constitution and the freedoms we have here in America.

On a program that has a viewership of about three, MSNBC’s “Morning Joe” interviewed Time magazine editor Richard Stengel who proudly strutted out Time’s latest atrocious cover showing the Constitution being shredded. Belatedly, Stengel admits that the Constitution matters, just not as much as it used to.

Well, I don’t believe in coincidence… Just evil collaboration. Who can forget the recent classic last week of Fareed Zakaria opining that maybe we should take a clue from Iceland and rewrite our old, outdated, dusty Constitution over the Internet – you know like modern Progressives yearn to do.

Here’s a shocker for the liberal Left – now listen carefully… The Constitution means what it says and says what it means. Our Founding Fathers meant it that way in order to protect and ensure our freedoms. So no matter how you twist their words and/or their meaning, it’s all just so much mental masturbation. As Beck is wont to say, “The truth has no agenda,” and so it is with the Constitution. The greatest minds of their day went over our founding documents again and again to make sure the wording was just right and that it could not be used against the people by a rabid few with an evil agenda.

While the framers of the Constitution did indeed argue both sides of every argument, to say we can NEVER know what they truly intended is the height of arrogance and stupidity. They intended for us to know EXACTLY what they meant and thus they put pen to parchment. How dare Stengel or any on the Progressive Left put forth that they, as the ruling, all-knowing elite, are the ones who are smart enough and enlightened enough to know what the Founders meant and that the general public have a limited, out-dated view of what was intended when our country’s founding documents were authored! And while the American people are a deciding factor in our future as they were in our history, I contend it is those same founding documents that play the most prominent role in our government and society. Stengel purposely gets it ass-backwards to purport an agenda that does not have anything to do with freedom, but instead power and wealth for a chosen few.

What you are seeing is the opening volley in a relentless and surging call from the Left to ‘rewrite’ the Constitution because it is ‘outdated.’ To do so would be to destroy America as we know and love her. And it is exactly what the Progressives want. Stengel’s article is offensive and infuriating. Here’s a sample of his Marxist bull-crap:

The framers were not gods and were not infallible. Yes, they gave us, and the world, a blueprint for the protection of democratic freedoms — freedom of speech, assembly, religion — but they also gave us the idea that a black person was three-fifths of a human being, that women were not allowed to vote and that South Dakota should have the same number of Senators as California, which is kind of crazy. And I’m not even going to mention the Electoral College. They did not give us income taxes. Or Prohibition. Those came later.

Stengel does not even know history as it pertains to the three-fifths reference. If he did, he would not make such an obvious and ignorant statement as he did. Or perhaps he does know and just wants to twist it for his own political purposes. Thank goodness they didn’t give us income taxes; we shouldn’t have them now as far as I am concerned. His other points are just as ludicrous.

The crisis America faces is one created by Progressives such as Obama and other elites trying to take down the Western way of life and America in general. To level the world playing field so-to-speak and put us on the same level as every other country while divvying up the wealth and spoils among themselves. It is a generated crisis being foisted upon us to push us into a one-world government. We are not only fighting for the survival of the Constitution; we are fighting for the very survival of America and our way of life and freedoms. So, for Stengel to claim there is no crisis is insulting. After all, the Left, of which he is a proud member, created it. Oh, and we will fight sir. You can bet on it.

Some areas that are clear violations of the Constitution that Stengel sees as totally righteous on the part of Obama:

1. Libya and Obama’s violation of the War Powers Act.
2. The Debt Ceiling which should not be raised. We need to cut spending and taxes to rectify our debt. Obama has sanctioned the printing of money and the faux-stimulation of our economy and has failed miserably at handling our debt crisis. Which, I contend, is intentional.
3. The monstrosity that is Obamacare, which for the first time in history, mandates that Americans must purchase healthcare.
4. The unconstitutional implementation, through executive orders, of decriminalizing illegal immigration.

I could go on and on about the Time piece. Read it, but make sure you are not drinking anything and do something calming beforehand. I will just say this… The Founders were not for big government; they were for a harnessed, restricted government. One that should be kept at bay and as small as possible. They did intend for the majority of powers to be kept by the states. This is at the heart of ensuring freedom and not coalescing too much power in a central government. In other words, it thwarts tyranny. I am sure that concept is foreign to Stengel and his comrades. In his lengthy piece, he excuses Obama for every major violation of the Constitution since he took office. This moron even buys the Commerce Clause interpretation that Congress should somehow be forcing commerce to happen. You know, the law of the land is good to control the Republicans, but when Democrats are in office, they should be set free to do as they wish for the good of the people. Spoken like a true Communist.

And while the Constitution does serve the nation, the nation prevails because of the Constitution in its original format and meaning. Our liberties are protected by the Constitution and in return, we are charged with protecting the Constitution.
