Black Teen Mobs Target St. Louis Cyclists in Knock-Out Game

From April:

This past week black youths in St. Louis playing the “knock-out” game are targeting cyclists in the city.
KMOX reported:

There’s an alert out about recent assaults on bike riders in south St. Louis.

Trailnet.org, an organization that promotes hiking and biking, is cautioning riders to be on the alert for roving bands of teenagers who swarm and attack riders.

Trailnet says the latest attack was last Thursday (8/25) afternoon near Missouri Botanical Garden where a group of 10 to 15 African-American teens charged and attacked a cyclist.

“They weren’t really interested in robbing me. It just seemed like they wanted to beat me up,” says assault victim Cheech Ramirez. “They weren’t interested in letting me get off the ground and having a fair fight.”

Ramirez says he and his friends returned to the scene minutes later to help another bicyclist who was being beaten.

Police say there have been other, similar attacks in the city, and they believe all the victims are picked at random.

Mayor Francis Slay is calling for action, possibly with citizen bike patrols set up with the help of Trailnet and local police.

Authoritarian Globalist: Barack Obama Does as Edward Mandel House Said

By: Henry Lamb
Gulag Bound

Barack Obama: Administrator

Col. Edward M. House in "An Onlooker in France"

Colonel Edward M. House in "An Onlooker in France" 1917-1919, by Sir William Orpen, K.B.E., R.A., Plate LXXXV. (c) 1921, published by Williams and Norgate, London.

Edward Mandel House wrote a terrible novel titled “Philip Dru: Administrator.” The book is a vision of how House believed government should operate. As Woodrow Wilson’s “alter-ego,” he did everything he could to bring about his vision during Wilson’s Presidency, including the design and creation of the League of Nations. House could not have known that some 70 years after his death, Barack Hussein Obama would be in the White House displaying many of the same beliefs and implementing many of the same ideas he had attributed to Philip Dru.

Philip Dru believed that “Our Constitution and our laws served us well for the first hundred years of our existence, but under the conditions of today they are not only obsolete, but even grotesque” (p. 222).

Obama believes that the Constitution (1:29) is an “imperfect” document that is “flawed.”

Philip Dru believed that “Government…was to have representation upon the boards of [every] corporation…. Labor was to have one representative upon the boards of [every] corporation and to share a certain percentage of the earnings above their wages.” (p. 183)

The Washington Post reported in April, 2009: “The Obama administration will play a key role in reshaping General Motors’ board of directors over the next six months, potentially giving it even greater control in the management of the storied American manufacturer.” Slate reported in June, 2009, that: “The United Auto Workers control about 65 percent of Chrysler and 17.5 percent of General Motors.”

Philip Dru believed that: “The strong will help the weak, the rich will share with the poor, and it will not be called charity, but it will be known as justice.” (p. 42).

Barack Obama believes that neither the Constitution nor the Supreme Court go far enough to say what the government must do on behalf of its citizens to redistribute the wealth (1:26) of those who have it in order to achieve social justice.

Philip Dru longed for the day when: “…there were no legislative bodies sitting, and the function of law making was confined to one individual, the Administrator himself.” (p. 221).

Barack Obama ignored the legislative bodies’ requirement in the 1973 War Powers Act that explicitly states:

The constitutional powers of the President as Commander-in-Chief to introduce United States Armed Forces into hostilities, or into situations where imminent involvement in hostilities is clearly indicated by the circumstances, are exercised only pursuant to:

(1) a declaration of war,

(2) specific statutory authorization, or

(3) a national emergency created by attack upon the United States, its territories or possessions, or its armed forces.

Obama

Barack Obama says that dropping bombs and unleashing missiles on Libya does not constitute “hostilities” that require him to get “specific statutory authorization” from Congress (1:23). Obama says that dropping bombs and unleashing missiles on Libya is a “kinetic military action.”

When Congress refused to enact his “Cap & Trade” policy, Obama ordered his EPA director to develop rules and regulations to impose his policy administratively (1:30), without participation of Congress.

When Congress refused to enact his “Dream Act,” Obama ordered his Homeland Security Secretary to enforce only a portion of existing immigration law, thereby imposing the effect of his Dream Act (5:58) administratively.

The Administrative form of government envisioned by Philip Dru is the same form of government originally envisioned for the League of Nations, with one global administrator issuing orders throughout his global agencies. Included in the global regime would be the member nations, each working to crown a single administrator to implement global policies, and issue orders throughout his national agencies.

The United States rejected this vision by rejecting the League of Nations. Franklin D. Roosevelt revived and revised the vision slightly when he created the United Nations. The U.N. vision of global governance now promotes a facilitated “consensus” process that essentially renders legislative bodies unnecessary. This procedure is outlined in Agenda 21 and is implemented through a variety of policies under the generic label “sustainable development.”

Barack Obama has demonstrated his impatience with the legislative process. He has demonstrated his contempt for the U.S. Constitution. He has displayed his willingness to ignore enforcement of immigration and marijuana laws with which he disagrees, while using the rule-making process to create and enforce his policies without Congressional involvement.

When Obama talks, the most common words heard in every speech, regardless of the subject are: “I, and my.” His behavior in office makes him appear to be unaware and unconcerned about anything and everything other than his prestige, his comfort, his fortune, and his future. He looks very much like the Administrator Philip Dru envisioned when “…there were no legislative bodies sitting, and the function of law making was confined to one individual, the Administrator himself.”

China and Biofuels – Stir-Fry or Fly?

By: John C.K. Daly of OilPrice.com

China’s omnivorous global appetite for energy resources is well known.

While biofuel production is one of the rising energy stars of the 21st century, it is unlikely to become a significant source for China in the near future, as the country’s arable land is devoted first and foremost to feeding the country’s massive population 1.3 billion citizens, unless a feedstock can be found that grows well on marginal land.

But the issue of food may yet prove to contribute to the country’s energy output by recycling a traditional component of Chinese cuisine – used cooking oil.

According to a recent article in the People’s Daily, Beijing’s 19 million inhabitants are seeing the grease used to fry up their dim sum and other delicacies carted off by eight licensed collectors of used cooking oil, known as “hogwash,” for recycling into biofuel.

Beijing Hailianghongxin Bioenergy Ltd. President Li dong said, “We have contracts with 300 catering firms, including most McDonald’s, and collect 3,000 tons each year.”

Beijing Hailianghongxin Bioenergy Ltd.’s collected hogwash oil is transported to a refinery in Gu’an county in Hebei province, owned by Gu’an Zhongde Lihua Petrochemical Co, the largest hogwash-to-biodiesel processing company in Beijing, and processed into biodiesel.

Hogwash oil is extracted from rotten pork and peroxided oil, used repeatedly in frying.

The bad news is that when hogwash oil is reused in restaurants, it can breed a number of diseases, doctors suspecting that it is even a potential carcinogen.

Recycled into biodiesel fuel, hogwash oil accordingly becomes a public health service.

The good news for Chinese capitalists is a conservative estimate is that China produces 30,000 tons of hogwash oil each and every day from restaurants and that China’s annual production of oily restaurant slop is no less than a most impressive 60,000,000 tons per annum, a mere 20,000 times the modest collection efforts of Mr. Li’s cohorts.

As Beijing alone currently has more than 50,000 restaurants, hotels and canteens, the city produces 90,000 tons of hogwash oil each year but currently the bulk of the used cooking oil is still being siphoned off illegally, to be used again in restaurants. Beijing Hailianghongxin Bioenergy Ltd.’s Gu’an county refinery, which opened in May, is capable of processing 40,000 tons of hogwash oil a year but it only expects to receive 15,000 tons of hogwash feedstock to process this year, according to Lu. Lu added, “Our costs include an oil-water separator for each restaurant and always payment to them in order to collect hogwash oil, recruitment of staff, buying vehicles and renting storehouses.”

Unfortunately, illegal collectors don’t need so much investment, with Lu noting about the competition, “A tricycle and a big scoop are all they need, and at the cost of $47 per ton they can recycle the hogwash oil to be edible oil and sell it to restaurants for $1,400 to $1,560 per ton,”

China Biodiesel Industry Association deputy secretary-general Sun Shanlin commented that insufficient feedstock input is a large industrial constraint and the collection and disposal of hogwash oil has yet to be properly organized by the relevant authorities.

Shenzhen-based CIC Industry Research Center analyst Shen Hongwen said, “The greatest difficulty for the industry is the short supply of hogwash oil. The profits in the manufacturing of biodiesel from hogwash oil cannot compare with the profits in selling it as edible oil, so it’s hard for enterprises in the biodiesel sector to get sufficient raw materials to expand their production scale.”

A research report issued by the China Association of Senior Scientists and Technicians a year ago noted simply, “More than 90 percent of the hogwash oil in Beijing is controlled by illegal collectors.”

The Chinese government is belatedly waking up to the potential of recycling cooking oil, as earlier this month the government announced it would spend $98.5 million to support the recycling of used kitchen cooking oil into biofuel in 33 cities and districts nationwide, including Beijing’s Chaoyang district, the city’s second largest and home to the majority of Beijing’s many foreign embassies.

Amusing as it is on the surface, China’s great “hogwash” imbroglio illuminates a number of contradictory truths about China’s headlong rush to prosperity. For China, 60,000,000 tons per annum of recycled cooking oil into biofuel is not an insignificant consideration.

First and foremost perhaps, is that enterprising Chinese, obeying the late Deng Xiaoping’s alleged exhortation, “To get rich is glorious!” have embraced its ethos with enthusiasm – and why not go where the profits are highest, in this case, the back door of the local carryout? In the absence of a clearly defined government policy, why not slip the used oil out the restaurant’s rea rdoor for great profits?

Second is that pesky issue of food security.

A recent U.S. International Trade Commission publication says that China’s food security objectives may clash with its energy independence and environmental objectives, inhibiting the development of renewable biofuels. The China’s Agricultural Trade: Competitive Conditions and Effects on U.S. Exports report notes that while China is the world’s second largest corn-producing nation, using the grain primarily for animal feed and secondarily ethanol production, bad harvests in 2009-2010 coupled with rising demand led China to import around 1.5 million metric tons of U.S. corn and in 2010 China consequently became a net corn importer.

China’s National Reform and Development Commission strictly regulates both the supply of and demand for biofuels and only state-owned enterprises are involved in production and the NDRC plans to increase domestic biofuel production to 12 million metric tons in 2020.

Unlike corn imports from the U.S., hogwash oil is an indigenous resource. Given both government public health issues and energy concerns, it would seem that the country’s furtive hogwash oil barons can expect to come under increasing government pressure.

More ominously for China’s illicit hogwash oil trade long term prospects, KLM Royal Dutch Airlines has recently successfully tested hogwash oil biofuel derivatives as a possible Jet A-1 “drop in” civilian airplane fuel.

Microwave, anyone?

Chinese free enterprise versus government control?

As the late great U.S. blues singer Rufus Thomas almost said, “Wok the dog!”

‘Battle for the California Desert: Why is the Government Driving Folks off Their Land?’

By: Arlen Williams
Gulag Bound

If you have been looking behind the curtain of “going green,” biodiversity, smart growth, and sustainable developmentthen you see with us, the kind of tyranny from which America’s forefathers fought to be free.

And you will recognize that recurring theme in this video.

Governmental control of the once free American Citizenry through rules of land use, as we have explored, is neofascism and it is neo-Marxism, both.

Are those terms relics of the 20th Century? Add one and we have Agenda 21.

American, if you do not know just what that is, we implore you, do not procrastinate, nor get stuck in the Rossian first stage of grief (denial). It is time to be awakened to its reality, so have a cup of coffee, watch, listen, and read.

Do you feel yourself starting to curl up and play possum? Stop. Meet the real enemy of today if you have lived this long, Pogo.  It is the python cuddling up to you and your neighbors.

Citizens as in the days of Lenin, Stalin, Hitler, Mao, and Pol Pot, being driven off their land is no spotty happenstance, nor the video, merely anecdotal evidence. See beyond the fig-leaf charge of “conspiracy theory” and learn the up-to-the-minute facts.  This the life and liberty suffocating soft warfare of the present.

Click those links after you see these cases in point:

From this video’s YouTube page:

The Antelope Valley is a vast patch of desert on the outskirts of Los Angeles County, and a segment of the few rugged individualists who live out there increasingly are finding themselves the targets of armed raids from local code enforcement agents, who’ve assembled into task forces called Nuisance Abatement Teams (NATs).

The plight of the Valley’s desert dwellers made regional headlines when county officials ordered the destruction of Phonehenge: a towering, colorful castle constructed out of telephone poles by retired phone technician Kim Fahey. Fahey was imprisoned and charged with several misdemeanors.

But Fahey is just one of many who’ve been targeted by the NATs, which were assembled at the request of County Supervisor Mike Antonovich in 2006. LA Weekly reporter Mars Melnicoff wrote an in-depth article in which she exposed the county’s tactic of badgering residents with minor, but costly, code violations until they face little choice but to vacate the land altogether.

“They’re picking on the the people who are the most defenseless and have the least resources,” says Melnicoff.

Reason.tv collaborated with Melnicoff to talk with some of the NAT’s targets, such as retired veteran Joey Gallo, who might face homelessness if he’s forced to leave his house, and local pastor Oscar Castaneda, who says he’s already given up the fight and is in the process of moving off the land he and his wife have lived on for 22 years. And, while Antonovich declined an interview, we did catch up with him at a public meeting in order to ask the big question at the center of all this: Why the sudden enforcement of these codes against people living in the middle of the desert, who seemingly are affecting no one?

Kyl Says Obama Said No Border Security for Political Reasons

By: Trevor Loudon
New Zeal

On June 18, 2010, Arizona Republican Senator Jon Kyl told the audience at a North Phoenix Tea Party town hall meeting that during a private, one-on-one meeting with President Obama in the Oval Office, the President told him, regarding securing the southern border with Mexico, “The problem is, . . . if we secure the border, then you all won’t have any reason to support ‘comprehensive immigration reform.'” [Audible gasps were heard throughout the audience.] Sen. Kyl continued, “In other words, they’re holding it hostage. They don’t want to secure the border unless and until it is combined with ‘comprehensive immigration reform.'”

Federal Spending In Simple Terms

By: AJ of NoisyRoom.net
Hat Tip: Sophia P.

It can be difficult to put the federal debt and deficit into perspective because it is so large, but Dominic “Nick” Ovella of the law firm ‘Hailey, McNamar, Hall, Larmann & Papale, L.L.P.’ (in Louisiana, Mississippi and Texas) has simplified it in a way that many can relate to.

First let us look at the yearly budget for 2011 along with our total national debt and the spending cuts that the House, Senate and Obama agreed to make in June 2011:

  • U.S. income that we pay to the Federal Government in 2011: $2,170,000,000,000 ($2.17 Trillion)
  • Obama’s 2011 spending (his budget): $3,820,000,000,000 ($3.82 Trillion)
  • New debt incurred in 2011 because spending exceeds income: $1,650,000,000,000 ($1.65 Trillion)
  • National debt (as of July 2011): $14,271,000,000,000 ($14.271 Trillion)
  • Recent budget cut: $38,500,000,000 (about 1% of the budget)

Nick represents the situation like this:

“Let’s remove eight zeros from these numbers and pretend this is the household budget for the fictitious Jones family.

Total annual income for the Jones family: $21,700
Amount of money the Jones family spent: $38,200
Amount of new debt added to the credit card: $16,500
Outstanding balance on the credit card: $142,710
Amount cut from the budget: $385

So in effect last month Congress, or in this example the Jones family, sat down at the kitchen table and agreed to cut $385 from its annual budget. What family would cut $385 of spending in order to solve $16,500 in deficit spending?

It is a start, although hardly a solution.

Now after years of this, the Jones family has $142,710 of debt on its credit card (which is the equivalent of the national debt).

You would think the Jones family would recognize and address this situation, but it does not. Neither does Congress.

The root of the debt problem is that the voters typically do not send people to Congress to save money. They are sent there to bring home the bacon to their own home state.

To effect budget change, we need to change the job description and give Congress new marching orders.

It is awfully hard (but not impossible) to reverse course and tell the government to stop borrowing money from our children and spending it now.

In effect, what we have is a reverse mortgage on the country. The problem is that the voters have become addicted to the money. Moreover, the American voters are still in the denial stage, and do not want to face the possibility of going into rehab.”

Americans who see this and understand how dangerous it is for the Federal Government to overspend at such an obscene rate are taking a stand. If you agree that the Federal Government is spending too much, then you can take a stand too.

This obscene rate of spending will ultimately collapse our economy… as it has done in Greece and other countries that are on the brink of collapse. Tea Party Americans stand against this outrageous spending and that is one reason the Liberal Progressives attack them.

Liberal Progressives stand against the free market system and all indications are that they believe if they can collapse America’s economy, a Socialist economy can be ushered in under Totalitarian/Communist rule. At least… that’s what their websites, protest signs and organizations are preaching.

Who do you stand with?
