It seems to me, after watching the referenced video on several different sites, that the only person who mentioned “black people” was Juan Williams. Mr. Gingrich mentioned specifically ‘poor people.’ How did it go from ‘poor people’ to ‘black people?’
When I started working at about age 12 I got jobs around the neighborhood; cutting grass, trimming bushes, any yard work, shoveling snow, etc. One of my first “real” jobs (at 16) was regretfully also my introduction to unions. I got a job sacking groceries for 85 cents an hour, part time, but to keep the job I had to join the union which cost me the same as a full time employee making $4+ an hour! By the time the union got through with my pay check I had little more than gas and lunch money…and that’s when gas was 35 cents a gallon!
Welfare and food stamps were looked down upon by almost everyone in my community; they’d rather clean toilets. The “poor people” in THIS country have no idea just how good they have it. Americans, regardless of income, are 10 times better off than the poor in any other country. Get off your lazy butt and do something to better yourself!
