Hey my friends! I found some new FDR history information I wanted to share with you with two short bits of footnotes I found in THE RISE AND FALL OF THE THIRD REICH tonight on pages 684 thru 687.

HITLER’S FDR INTEL

Well, as far as war goes, gathering info is a major key component at any time and Hitler was no different. Hitler had the ABWEHR, I think that was a spy/sabotage branch of the Nazi Party, plus a man named Colin Ross who had been to America for a lecture and came to Hitler as an “expert” on America. Hitler asked why America was anti-German. Colin had said: “One of the factors in hating Germany was of course the monstrous power of Jewry and its struggle against all things German and National Socialist.”

Then Ross talks about Roosevelt and his views on Hitler. Read this carefully please.

“He is the enemy of the Fuehrer out of personal jealousy and also on account of his personal lust for power… he had come to power the same year as the Fuehrer and he had to watch the latter carry out his great plans, while he, Roosevelt … had not reached his goal.”

Hold on here – the kicker is in the second half.

“He (Roosevelt) too had ideas of dictatorship which in some respects were very similar to National Socialist ideas. Yet precisely this realization that the Fuehrer had attained his goal, while he had not, gave to his PATHOLOGICAL ambition the desire to act upon the stage of world history as the Fuehrer’s rival…”

That’s a big, OH WOW! So as early as 1940, Hitler had the real scoop on Roosevelt and what he was all about; that’s just amazing. I find it a little disturbing that Hitler knew the real FDR while others ignored him in America during that time and down the road.

GM’S BACKDOOR PEACE TALKS

Did you think that the government takeover of GM was the first time that GM and the federal government were in collusion together on a really bad idea? NOPE, it seems in 1940, James D. Mooney, Vice President of GM, on the behest of Roosevelt went to Germany on the down low to engage Hitler in quiet peace talks. At the meeting, Mooney said to Hitler that Roosevelt was “more friendly and sympathetic to Germany than was generally believed in Berlin.”

Roosevelt was “prepared to act as moderator in bringing the belligerents together.”

Of course, Hitler had lied to Mooney, complaining about how he worked so hard for peace, but that the war was “forced” on Germany.

Mooney, being very naive was totally taken in by the so-called German “charm.”

Mooney then reported back to Roosevelt saying, “that the Fuehrer was desirous of peace and wished to prevent the bloodshed of a spring campaign.”

Here we go again with the folly of thinking that you can negotiate with evil or that you can trust or believe evil when they claim they want peace.
