President Barack Obama and the Chicago Campaign machine are ready to give flight to yet another line of attack against Mitt Romney and his resume, this time aimed at his record as Governor of Massachusetts, and purportedly focusing on the campaign promises that they say he made and broke while there, according to a FOXNews article today.

But, isn’t this really an insane course for Team Obama and their surrogates to keep taking?

After all, every negative attack they have mounted against Gov. Romney has backfired on them with all but their voting base, sending Independent voters by a ratio of 2-to-1 to the Romney camp, according to recent polls.

First, their serial attacks on Bain Capital’s private [their own money] equity investments in struggling companies, attempting to frame Romney and his partners as evil, job destroying capitalists.

In reality, many of the Bain portfolio companies were already headed to bankruptcy court anyway, with 5% eventually making it. However, it is the 80 percent that were successful, including mega job creators like Home Depot, Staples, Dominos Pizza and Dunkin’ Doughnuts, that are ruining the narrative for President Obama.

Romney has returned fire by putting Obama’s record of what FOXNews Elizabeth MacDonald has labeled “Venture Socialism,” in the spotlight–focusing on the billions of taxpayer dollars the Energy Department has “invested” in alternative energy companies.

Here the reality is that they have been falling like dominos, beginning with Solyndra Solar’s colossal $535 million failure, which sent 1,100 new employees to the unemployment line, triggering another million dollars of special government re-training program expenses–just 18 months after the original investment.

Second, was the Washington Posts front page article dated May 10, 2012, regarding a school yard prank by Romney and his friends, while seniors at the private, elite Cranbrook School in Bloomfield Hills, Michigan–47 years ago, in 1965.

In reality, even the family of John Lauber, who died of liver cancer in 2004, did not know about the incident and took exception to the article, with Betsy Lauber, one of John Lauber’s three sisters, speaking with ABC News on May 10, 2012, regarding the accuracy of the story.

“The family of John Lauber is releasing a statement saying the portrayal of John is factually incorrect and we are aggrieved that he would be used to further a political agenda. There will be no more comments from the family,” she said.

Following the high school background theme, Barack Obama has a large, gaping hole of vulnerability, quoting directly from one of the two autobiographical books he authored, titled “Dreams of My Father,” wherein he described his high school lifestyle…

“I had learned not to care. I blew a few smoke rings, remembering those years. Pot had helped, and booze; maybe a little blow when you could afford it. Not smack, though…

I had discovered that it didn’t make any difference whether you smoked reefer in the white classmate’s sparkling new van, or in the dorm room of some brother you’d met at the gym, or on the beach with a couple of Hawaiian kids who had dropped out of school and now spent most of their time looking for an excuse to brawl.

And if the high didn’t solve whatever it was that was getting you down, it could at least help you laugh at the world’s ongoing folly and see through all the hypocrisy and b*llsh*t and cheap moralism.”

Now, is it really a smart for Barack Obama to do a dumb thing like going toe-to-toe with Mitt Romney over his record as Governor of Massachusetts–armed only with his disastrous record as President of the United States?
