The fact that both the Criminal and Civil Contempt of Congress citation votes passed in the Republican-dominated House of Representatives was not the real story of the day, because it was statistically preordained–it was really about how a large portion of the Democrats reacted before and after the vote took place.

The top line story was that both votes in the House, rendering Attorney General Holder the first sitting Cabinet member to ever be held in contempt, were a landslide at 257-67, including 17 Democrats who broke ranks and sided with Republicans, as reported in a FOXNews article today.

Committee Chairman, Rep. Darrell Issa (R-CA), gave this statement afterwards…

Today, a bipartisan majority of the House of Representatives voted to hold Attorney General Eric Holder in contempt for his continued refusal to produce relevant documents … This was not the outcome I had sought and it could have been avoided had Attorney General Holder actually produced the subpoenaed documents he said he could provide.

True, calm and factual.

Starting from the top, Eric Holder, here is how Democrats reacted…

Today’s vote is the regrettable culmination of what became a misguided and politically motivated investigation during an election year … By advancing it over the past year and a half, Congressman Issa and others have focused on politics over public safety.

Holder’s remarks remind one of Bill Clinton’s famous public declaration when cornered…

I have never had sexual relations with that woman!

White House communications director Dan Pfeiffer called it a “political stunt,” then chimed in with…

Despite the major economic challenges facing the country, they talked openly about devoting taxpayer-funded, congressional oversight resources to political purposes.

But not yet near the $40 million that Bill Clinton forced Congress to spend, in order to get to the bottom of his obstruction of justice and female citizenry besmirching—if it weren’t for that small DNA stain on the now famous blue dress.

The Congressional Black Caucus (CBC) made a big splash by “leading” 108 House party members in boycotting the vote [not casting a vote or voting “Present”] and walking out of the chamber, with caucus Chairman Rep. Emanuel Cleaver (D-MO) having this to say…

Today, we are witnessing the great lengths to which Republican leadership will go in an attempt to discredit the Attorney General and embarrass the president … Leadership’s actions are destructive, election-year politics.

This was yet another example of a fundamental lack of character, honor and integrity, which has become widely known as a key Democrat legislator personality trait. It illustrates itself best in this very type of situation, where if you don’t like what is about to happen—although completely “democratic”—run away like an insolent child.

But, this is not the first time this tactic has been used.

It was actually first employed by Texas state Democrats many years ago, who fled the state capital and took refuge in the neighboring “sanctuary state” of New Mexico, to thwart a re-districting vote—that they eventually lost anyway.

More recently it was repeated by the “gang” of 14 disgruntled Wisconsin Democrats in January 2011, who fled to the Democrat “refuge state” of Illinois, to prevent a quorum in the newly Republican-dominated legislature from the November 2010 mid-term elections.

They famously held the vote on Gov. Scott Walker’s collective bargaining legislation “hostage”—knowing they would lose.

They did lose about 45 days later–after they were legislatively “cornered” into returning.

These same Democrats lost again this past May, after their labor union led recall vote against Gov. Walker failed miserably, with Walker winning against his previous opponent–by an even larger margin with the highest voter turnout in state history.

This loss will likely seal the fate of all public union workers, at every level, nationwide.

Yesterday in Washington, D.C. however the U.S. House already had a quorum, without the “deserting” Democrats, so all it did was to illustrate that Democrats have a fundamental lack of character, honor and integrity when the going gets tough.

Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) had these public parting words for everyone…

What is happening here is shameful!

Yes, it must be shameful for Democrats and their faithful to witness the beginning of the end of President Barack Obama’s career, and another large portion of the Democrat party nationwide.
