Conscience of a Conservative
Somehow, some way, I started getting emails from those disgruntled Republicans who blindly follow Ron Paul. They have a web site called Liberty Crier and in spite of losing the primary elections they are still trying to convince people to write in a vote for Ron Paul for president. I am not against any third-party political movement, mainly because years ago when living in New York, I was a member of the New York State Conservative Party. That was during the time that ultra-liberals Nelson Rockefeller and Jacob Javits were running the Republican Party. Running it so badly you couldn’t tell them apart from the Democrats. The Conservative Party won some clout when they began to cross-endorse certain conservative Republicans, allowing them to run on the Conservative line. There is a lesson to be learned here so I’ll quote one paragraph of their history from Wikipedia:
The Conservative Party founders wanted to balance the Liberal Party’s influence. One early supporter was National Review founder William F. Buckley, who was the party’s candidate for mayor of New York City in 1965. In 1970, his brother James Buckley was elected to the U.S. Senate as a Conservative Party candidate; in 1976, he ran for reelection as a candidate of the Republican and Conservative Parties, losing to Daniel Patrick Moynihan. In the 2004 U.S. Senate election, the Conservative Party endorsed Marilyn O’Grady to oppose Republican candidate Howard Mills and incumbent Democratic Senator Charles Schumer. (and Chuck Schumer won!)
Read that last sentence again. While the Conservative Party was cross-endorsing conservative Republicans they had power in their combined strength. But when they ran a separate candidate against the Republicans, they and the Republicans both lost and the Democrats won. The error of their ways (myself included) began when they let their pride and egos overrule their common sense and they decided to break away from the main Republican Party. Had they organized their forces from within the Republican Party they could have moved it more to the right like the Tea Party did in 2010. But this strategy requires that you must accept the fact that you can’t always have things your own way all the time.
On the national political scene there is no cross-endorsing between political parties. There is also the stark reality that in spite of a half-dozen or so minor parties such as the Socialist Party, Workers Party, Green Party, etc. the elections are decided between the two main parties: Democrats and Republicans. It is only when an election becomes very close that a third party candidate can take enough votes away from one side that helps the other side win. Ross Perot did this in 1992 when he won 19% of the popular vote and helped Democrat Bill Clinton beat Republican George H. W. Bush. The events that led up to Ross Perot running for president is somewhat similar to Ron Paul but the outcome is also appropriate to Gary Johnson, the current Libertarian candidate. Ross Perot was a Texas billionaire and he had a grudge against fellow Texan, George H. W. Bush. Perot used his wealth and started a national movement and got enough qualifying signatures to place his name on the ballot in all 50 states. George H. W. Bush, who was Ronald Reagan’s vice-president did not enjoy the same conservative reputation among Republicans that Reagan did but managed to ride Reagan’s coattails to get elected president in 1988. Because there were still a lot on conservative Republicans who enjoyed Ross Perot’s rhetoric and disdained Bush’s tepid brand of conservatism (recall that Bush resigned his Life Membership in the NRA because he objected to their referring to BATF agents as Jack-booted Thugs) Perot received enough votes to tip the outcome to a liberal Democrat.
The consequences of a Democratic victory on November 6th will be catastrophic.
Today, in 2012, America is facing a far more serious situation than those somewhat easy going days before September 11, 2001, and the consequences of anything happening to enable the Democrats to win this election are catastrophic. There is a lot more at stake than replacing a Democrat whose most deplorable act was receiving oral sex in the Oval Office and his subsequent impeachment for lying about it. Today, as a result of a corrupt anti-American leftist news media and an insidious conspiracy between communists and Islamic terrorists we have a genuine, would be dictator running for reelection. While many problems in American politics can be reversed in four year cycles, the next four years will create problems that will last for our lifetimes. We are losing our Constitutional Rights in the name of political correctness because of a pro-Muslim bias within our government financed by Saudi Arabia and The Muslim Brotherhood. We are on the verge of losing our national sovereignty because of Barack Hussein Obama’s lifelong Marxist/socialist communist and yes, Muslim indoctrination favors United Nations control over our laws. If anyone still doubts the intentions or consequences of the United Nations on the future of America, here is a brief quote from an article posted on New Zeal.

Accuracy in Media
October 24 is United Nations Day, or as Barbara Marx Hubbard calls it, “Global Oneness Day.” It has also been labeled “Alger Hiss Day,” in recognition of the Soviet spy and State Department official who played a major role in founding the world body. Don’t expect the major media to remind us of that fact.
One of the best sources of information on the role of Alger Hiss in the U.N. is the important new book, Alger Hiss: Why He Chose Treason, by Christina Shelton.
The Shelton book notes, “Following Yalta, preparation for the establishment of the United Nations was Hiss’s primary mission.” Hiss was appointed acting secretary-general of the U.N. founding conference and was involved in staffing the U.N. by selecting people for employment in the world body. “About fifty showed up as permanent employees and a couple of hundred in part-time assignments,” Shelton says of Hiss’s efforts.
From the very beginnings of the organization of the U.N. at the direction of and influence of Alger Hiss, the post of Undersecretary-general for Political and Security Council Affairs was always to be handled by a communist. This was the post that oversaw the entire operations of U.S. troops fighting under the U.N. flag during the Korean War. The first war America did not win. Here is a rather lengthy excerpt of the background:
One of the most important positions within the entire United Nations—if not the most important—is that of Undersecretary-general for Political and Security Council Affairs. Most Americans have never even heard of this position, much less anything about the man who holds the job. The undersecretary-general for political and security council affairs has three main areas of responsibility. They are:
- Control of all military and police functions of the United Nations peacekeeping forces.
- Supervision of all disarmament moves on the part of member nations
- Control of all atomic energy ultimately entrusted to the United nations for peaceful and “other purposes”.
In view of the fact that these three functions may soon constitute the ultimate power of life and death over every human being on the face of the earth (once national disarmament is achieved and all military is under the control of the U.N.), there would appear to be some minor justification for us to be more than passingly curious over who wields this power. Since the United Nations was created in 1945 there have been fifteen men appointed to the position of undersecretary-general of political and security council affairs. Astonishingly, every single one of them has been a communist!
Communists appointed to the position of undersecretary-general
- Arkady Sobolev–USSR (1946-1949)
- Konstantin Zinchenko—USSR (1949-53)
- Ilya Tehernychev—Ygoslavia (1954-1957)
- Anatoly F. Dobrynin—USSR (1958-1960)
- Georgi Ptrovich Arkadev—USSR (1960-1962)
- Eugeny Dmiterievich Kiselev—USSR (1962-1963)
- Vladimir Pavolovich Suslov—USSR (1963-1963)
- Alexie E. Nesterenko—USSR (1965-1968)
- Leonid N. Kutakov—USSR (1968-1973)
- Arkady N. Shevchenko—USSR (1973-1978)
- Mikhail D. Sytenko—USSR (1978-1981)
- Viacheslav A. Ustinov—USSR (1981-1986)
- Uasiliy S. Safronchuk—USSR (1987-1992)
- Vladimir Petrovsky—Russia , “former USSR (1992-)
- James O. C. Jonah—Sierra Leone (Co-chairman)
Some observers feel that fifteen Communists out of fifteen appointees constitutes a trend of sorts. But whatever we call it, Trygve Lie, the first secretary-general of the United Nations, revealed that this pattern was no mere coincidence. In his book In the cause of Peace Lie wrote: “Mr. Vyshinsky (of the USSR) did not delay his approach. He was the first to inform me of an understanding which the Big Five had reached in London on the appointment of a Soviet national as assistant secretary-general for political and security council affairs…
“Mr. Stettinius (U.S Secretary of State) confirmed to me that he had agreed with the Soviet delegation in the matter…
“The preservation of international peace and security was the organization’s highest responsibility, and it was to entrusting the direction of the Secretariat department most concerned with this to a Soviet national that the Americans had agreed.” (From The Fearful Master by Edward Griffin)
The most important subject that has been ignored in the campaign this year is that the next four years will see a change in the makeup of the U.S. Supreme Court, when at least one or two Justices retire. Should the next president overturn the present 5-4 conservative majority by handing out nominations for replacements to the leftists, our Bill of Rights will disappear, our economy will collapse and we will see America become a third-world power. And the new Supreme Court will likely decide on the legalities of any new treaties with the United Nations that our next president will agree to, so consider the above history very carefully.
It is unimaginable to think that any person would help elect a Democrat to make this happen yet that is exactly what anyone will do who does not vote for the Republicans.

Political Buzz Examiner
New information obtained by and reported in Jennifer Griffin’s FOXNews article today, says sources on the ground the night of the “Islamic terrorist attack” on the U.S. Consulate in Benghazi, state that several urgent requests for military back-up were made by them, from the CIA annex, one mile away, beginning after the first shots were heard at 9:40 p.m. local time.
According to them … “U.S. officials” denied all of their requests.
In fact, during what would turn out to be a series of attacks over seven hours, these same ‘officials’ also told the CIA operators–twice–to “stand down,” and not go to the aide of Ambassador Stevens’ team.
But, the character and honor of ex-Navy SEAL Tyrone Woods, could not suffer this ‘official’ reticence any longer, and he voluntarily ‘disobeyed’ their commands, left his post at the CIA ‘annex’ compound–and sped to the Consulate in answer the terrified cries for help they had been receiving from Ambassador Christopher Stevens.
Later that evening, fellow ex-Navy SEAL Glen Doherty, who was a member of the Global Response Staff (GRS) in Tripoli, joined Woods after he returned to the CIA annex.
These sources report that the CIA team was in constant radio contact with their headquarters, while at least one member was on the roof of the annex manning a heavy machine gun; then, mortar fire begin hitting the CIA compound.
It was further reported that the security officer had the mortar’s position ‘painted’ with a laser sight on the target, and repeatedly requested fire from a Specter gunship, whose mission it is to provide airborne firepower to Spec Ops teams involved in intense firefights on the ground.
The attack on the CIA annex lasted more than four hours, which many believe was enough time send air support from Sigonella Air base, just 480 miles away in southern Italy.
Griffin also reports that two separate ‘Tier One’ special operations forces, including Delta Force operators, were ordered to ‘wait.’
In the end, Woods and Doherty were killed by an enemy mortar attack at approximately 4 pm local time, where although the first round landed outside the annex–the three following rounds found their target.
Griffin reports speaking with sources familiar with Special Operations, who stated that this seven hour attack ‘window’ represented more than ample time for U.S. military back-up to arrive from nearby bases in Europe, and destroy all of the enemy attackers.
So, it appears as though Woods and Doherty likely sacrificed their lives that evening, in an attempt to ‘buy time’ for a ‘rescue mission’–which was ‘denied’ three times over six hours by the Obama administration, because he was busy campaigning and entertaining in Las Vegas.
As a result of these new troubling new developments, Charles Woods, the father of Tyrone Woods, decided to ‘break his silence,’ contacting Glenn Beck and holding an on air telephone interview, as reported in Jason Howerton’s article in The Blaze yesterday.
Woods wished to ‘recount’ his experiences with President Obama, VP Biden and Hillary Clinton, at the coffin return ceremony, about a month ago at Andrews Air Force Base in Maryland.
As to his assessment of President Barack Obama’s behavior toward him at the ceremony, Woods, a long time judge with thousands of trials and decisions of guilt under his belt, relayed this:
When he finally came over to where we were, I could tell that he was rather conflicted, a person who was not at peace with himself. Shaking hands with him, quite frankly, was like shaking hands with a dead fish. His face was pointed towards me but he would not look me in the eye, his eyes were over my shoulder.
I could tell that he was not sorry. [His ‘demeanor’ indicated] He had no remorse.
Then he recounted a ‘disturbing’ dialog from Secretary of State, Hillary Clinton, after she apologized to him for his loss, declared that the U.S. would:
[M]ake sure that the person who made that film is arrested and prosecuted.
In reference to the feeble anti-Muslim YouTube video that Clinton and the Obama administration paraded around for two weeks as the ’cause’ for the Benghazi attack.
When she said that, I could tell that she was not telling me the truth.
Finally, and as usual, Joe Biden could not have been more disgusting toward Woods, when he approached the grieving family, and in a ‘loud and boisterous voice’ (which no doubt echoed throughout the entire hanger) said:
Did your son always have balls the size of cue balls?
To which Woods rhetorically asked:
Are these the words of someone who is sorry?
Now, you be the judge.

By Rabbi, Bernhard Rosenberg, ISRAPUNDIT —
This should serve as a wake up call for all Jews and Christians
who express love for America and Israel.
To My Fellow Rabbis:
I write to you at this time of dire trouble for our country and for Israel.
A couple of weeks ago, America was under attack. Our ambassador to Libya and three other Americans were slaughtered by Muslim extremists. This was not a spontaneous “protest” against an admittedly stupid video. This was an organized military assault, coordinated expressly for execution on September 11.
Likewise, the “protests” in Cairo at the American embassy where our flag was shredded and the black Islamist flag of al-Qaeda raised in its place. Reliable sources say the US was forewarned of both attacks — probably by Israel. But America’s State Department ignored those warnings. Why?
The Obama administration’s reactions to these outrages was sadly typical. The very next day, President Obama incongruously flew off to Las Vegas to raise funds. Lamentably, our government still apologizes for that inane video, made by an Egyptian Coptic.
Where is the leadership here? What has such ongoing appeasement gotten us? President Obama once promised a “reset” of America’s relationship with the Muslim world. But the reality has been far different. The Islamic world holds us in greater contempt than ever, seeing Obama’s America as weak, and as incapable, or unwilling, to defend our interests and our friends.
On that note, Obama’s policy towards Israel has been a disgrace from the start. It’s as if his goal is to disenfranchise himself – and America – from the Jewish state — to make clear to the world that Israel’s leaders, should they dare to defend the Jewish State’s very existence, will go it alone. Such signals serve only to embolden Israel’s enemies, who are also America’s enemies…our enemies!
The same signal comes from Obama’s latest snub of Bibi Netanyahu — who was told that Obama did not have time to meet with him when the Israeli Prime Minister arrived in America last month. Meanwhile, he found time to regale on CBS Television’s Late Show with David Letterman and also had time to chit chat with Barbara Walters and Whoopie Goldberg on the TV show, The View. To his discredit, Obama also extended an open invitation to Egypt’s President Morsi.
Such actions say a lot to the world. Can we stand silent any longer?
To the 613 “Rabbis for Obama”:
In light of the President’s actions toward Israel and her Prime Minister, I ask you to reconsider your public support for President Obama in next month’s election. Certainly, Israel deserves America’s full support and respect, not the treatment she has received under the current President.
I say this with all my heart: I cannot keep silent any longer. The voices of my father and my mother, survivors of Auschwitz and Buchenwald, compel me to speak out — with zeal.
I urge you to consider the following:
Silence did not work in the 1930s, when the looming evils of Nazism could have been stopped in their tracks. Nor will it work today, when Islamists – who deny the Holocaust – threaten the destruction of Israel and the murder of all the Jews and Christians therein.
Why does the United States say nothing about the daily denigration of Jews and Christians by imams, worldwide?
Why do we tolerate an American media that continues to play dumb when our real interests, and our very lives, are at stake?
Why does America continue to send money (and excuse outstanding loans) to Morsi’s Egypt?**
Why doesn’t America compel Morsi to uphold the peace treaty with Israel? To rein in Hamas? To act like a responsible, civil government?
Why don’t we rabbis come together and insist that the Obama Administration express — in words and In deeds – its unequivocal support for Israel during this most challenging of times?
And, of utmost importance, why doesn’t President Obama PUT INTO PRACTICE his until-now hollow words – “I have Israel’s back” – by immediately destroying Iran’s nuclear infrastructure?
I started “Rabbis for Romney” as a counterweight to “Rabbis for Obama.” My message at first was not political, but the situation has evolved — or devolved — into one in which the danger to Israel is more paramount than ever. Don’t kid yourselves. We are nearing the 11th hour.
Please join us in our quest to see that America and Israel stay safe from the growing danger that is all around us.
We can no longer afford to stay silent.
Let us make sure that, “Never again” means “NEVER again.”

**Two weeks ago, the Obama Administration notified Congress that it would provide Egypt’s new government an emergency cash infusion of $450 million. Fortunately, Kay Granger (R-TX), the chairwoman of the House appropriations subcommittee which oversees the disbursement of foreign aid, stood up to President Obama and blocked the distribution to Egypt (MSNBC).
