He called a similar political fusion simply “The Com”. Whole worlds fell into a pseudo-Communist/pseudo-Fascist/pseudo-Socialist anthill-sameness controlled THX-1138 meets Farnham’s Freehold by way of Logan’s Run, with high-tech weapons and mind control to reprogram you to the party line. Once a world had “gone Com”, it was over. People were no longer given choices. They were born and bred to purpose, their genes selected to fulfill the very tasks and jobs the Com required them to fit, but otherwise, a Comworld was basically a hive for human ants.

That’s not my world. That’s not the world I want for my children. They deserve free choice, and the ability to succeed or fail on their own merits, the “greater good” be damned.
