The art of distraction, keeping the spotlight off Sen. John Kerry and his quest for Secretary of State.

By: Nelson Abdullah
Conscience of a Conservative

We are all watching another Washington, D.C. magic act. The magician waves his left hand to draw your attention while he sets up the next trick with his other hand. The Republicans are mesmerized by the act being played before them and cannot see what is about to happen next. U.N. Ambassador Susan Rice is being set up to be the worst possible candidate for replacing Hillary Clinton as the new Secretary of State, and the Republicans are gobbling it up. When it is all over we will see that Sen. John Kerry, the Swiftboat hero of Vietnam, the same John Kerry who awarded himself three Purple Hearts so he could leave the battlefield and come home to protest the war and accuse his fellow soldiers of killing women and children, will be the second best choice to be our next Secretary of State. And the Republican Senators, like John McCain, who once said about then Sen. Barack Hussein Obama, he could not say anything bad about a fellow member of the Senate, will voice a sigh of relief when they accept John Kerry as the lesser-of-two-evils. It is somewhat incongruous to realize that today, Sen. John Kerry occupies the position of Chairman of the Senate Foreign Relations Committee, the very body that launched his political career in 1971.

John Kerry’s political career was launched in the U.S. Senate in the Committee on Foreign Relations on April 22, 1971 when he was invited to appear as a representative of the left wing group Vietnam Veterans Against the War. The testimony Kerry gave accused his fellow American troops of blatantly committing war crimes against the civilian population of Vietnam. He was congratulated for his work by leading liberals on the Senate committee.

And today, as WND.com points out from a story in the Chicago Sun-Times, Hillary Clinton would rather see Sen. John Kerry become her replacement. Of course, John Kerry is more liberal than Susan Rice. And he isn’t involved in any questionable business practices like Susan Rice. He earned his millions by marrying rich women. And he got his start in politics by accusing his fellow soldiers of horrible crimes. Nothing like climbing over your buddies to get ahead. Oh, and he is friends with Jane Fonda and they spoke at anti-war rallies.

And as for the rest of us, we have been suckered once again. Can you imagine what John Kerry would be like as Secretary of State? Those few allies that we have left in the world must be having nightmares. He might even appoint his old friend Jane as his deputy. Why not, she would fit into the Obama administration perfectly because she was once married to a communist.

Unanswered questions about Obama’s support of the U.N. ban on private gun ownership. So why is FEMA preparing for civil war?

By: Nelson Abdullah
Conscience of a Conservative

The issue of gun control in the United States was thoroughly decided by the Supreme Court when they reaffirmed the Second Amendment two years ago. Of course that decision was made by only a slim 5-4 majority and now that Barack Hussein Obama has four more years, he is expected to appoint at least one replacement Justice to the Supreme Court which will tip that balance in favor of the Socialists. Then came the concerns about the United Nations Small Arms Treaty that was resurrected when Barack Hussein Obama’s Secretary of State Hillary Clinton reversed previous administrations by saying she would support it. Confounding the threat came about when 58 U.S. Senators sent a letter to The White House saying they would not sign any such treaty if it came before them. This point was emphasized in a so-called debunking story posted on the liberal FactCheck web site.

First, we should note that Obama has said that the Second Amendment “does provide for Americans the right to bear arms for their protection, for their safety, for hunting, for a wide range of uses.” But if Obama actually wanted to “ban all firearms in the United States,” the strategy outlined in this email would be a curious way of trying to accomplish that goal.

For starters, Obama wouldn’t be able to “bypass” Congress, as the author of this email claims. All international treaties that the U.S. agrees to require the approval of two-thirds of the senators present before the treaties can be ratified. Those would surely be tough votes to get if the treaty banned all firearms. Last year, in fact, 13 Democratic senators, led by Jon Tester of Montana, wrote a letter to Obama and Secretary of State Hillary Clinton saying that they wouldn’t support a treaty unless they were guaranteed that it wouldn’t “in any way regulate the domestic manufacture, possession or sales of firearms or ammunition” in the U.S. That’s in addition to 45 Republican senators, led by Jerry Moran of Kansas, who also wrote a letter saying that “any treaty resulting from the Arms Trade Treaty process that seeks in any way to regulate the domestic manufacture, assembly, transfer, or purchase of firearms, ammunition, and related items would be completely unacceptable to us.”

The fear of a nationwide ban on the ownership of all guns by law-abiding American citizens was fueled by a responsible article published in 2009 by the Reuters news agency.

U.S. reverses stance on treaty to regulate arms trade

U.S. reverses stance on treaty to regulate arms trade

WASHINGTON (Reuters) – The United States reversed policy on Wednesday and said it would back launching talks on a treaty to regulate arms sales as long as the talks operated by consensus, a stance critics said gave every nation a veto.

The decision, announced in a statement released by the U.S. State Department, overturns the position of former President George W. Bush’s administration, which had opposed such a treaty on the grounds that national controls were better.

And this article that came out today from the Northern Kentucky TEA Party adds even more fear about the possibility of a pending Civil War in the event that the Marxist/Socialist Democrats attempt to disarm Americans. The one thing Obama needs to fear most is the same thing that Japanese Admiral Yamamoto feared when he thought about invading America. “You cannot invade the mainland United States. There would be a rifle behind every blade of grass.” is a quote by Isoroku Yamamoto, Commander-in-Chief of the Imperial Japanese Navy during World War II.

A Civil War Is Coming!!!! WASHINGTON (Reuters)

The United States reversed policy on Wednesday and said it would back launching talks on a treaty to regulate arms sales as long as the talks operated by consensus, a stance critics said gave every nation a veto. The decision, announced in a statement released by the U.S. State Department, overturns the position of former President George W. Bush’s administration, which had opposed such a treaty on the grounds that national controls were better.

On Wednesday Obama took the First Major Step in a Plan to Ban All Firearms in the United States. The Obama administration intends to force gun control and a complete ban on all weapons for U.S. citizens through the signing of international treaties with foreign nations. By signing international treaties on gun control, the Obama administration can use the U.S. State Department to bypass the normal legislative process in Congress. Once the U.S. Government signs these international treaties, all U.S. citizens will be subject to those gun laws created by foreign governments. These are laws that have been developed and promoted by organizations such as the United Nations and individuals such as George Soros and Michael Bloomberg. The laws are designed and intended to lead to the complete ban and confiscation of all firearms. It will never happen!

The Obama administration is attempting to use tactics and methods of gun control that will inflict major damage to our 2nd Amendment before U.S. citizens even understand what has happened. Obama can appear before the public and tell them that he does not intend to pursue any legislation (in the United States) that will lead to new gun control laws, while cloaked in secrecy, his Secretary of State, Hillary Clinton is committing the U.S. to international treaties and foreign gun control laws. Does that mean Obama is telling the truth? What it means is that there will be no publicized gun control debates in the media or votes in Congress. We will wake up one morning and find that the United States has signed a treaty that prohibits firearm and ammunition manufacturers from selling to the public. We will wake up another morning and find that the U.S. has signed a treaty that prohibits any transfer of firearm ownership. And then, we will wake up yet another morning and find that the U.S. has signed a treaty that requires U.S. citizens to deliver any firearm they own to the local government collection and destruction center or face imprisonment.

This is not a joke nor a false warning. As sure as government health care will be forced on us by the Obama administration through whatever means necessary, so will gun control.

Please forward this message to others who may be concerned about the direction in which our country is headed. Straight into socialism if Obama has his way… We are being led like a lamb to the slaughter, (Socialism/Dictatorship).

In the history of the world politics is as old as prostitution and both bear similar traits. Any good Christian who reads the bible will know the story of Pontius Pilate and the trial of Jesus Christ that resulted in the crucifixion. Pontius Pilate was the Roman Prefect of the province of Judaea and was the judge who ceremoniously washed his hands and took no blame when the mob, spurred on by Roman agitators, called for the execution of Jesus. Politicians have frequently imitated that practice of ceremonial hand-washing in the face of unpopular decisions. Barack Hussein Obama has demonstrated many times how he conspires to enact dictatorial decrees he has previously denounced. How many times has Obama used the highly technical rule of passing laws by Executive Order or making questionable appointments during recesses when the Senate is closed for business and not able to ratify them. On the issue of gun control or completely banning all firearms, every dictator in history has made this the first order of their tyrannical rule. While the U.S. Constitution assigns the authority of passing treaties to a 2/3 majority of the Senate, what prevents Barack Hussein Obama from signing such a treaty by himself during a recess when the Senate is closed? Nothing! Obama has already stated that he often finds Congress as an inconvenient impediment to his legislative plans. So it is a reasonable presumption to contemplate that whatever Obama wants to do he will find a way to do it and it is just as reasonable to predict that if and when that comes to pass when the confiscation of privately owned firearms begins, there will be a Civil War in the United States of America.

The course of a new Civil War in America will be totally different from that first American Revolution that formed our nation in 1776 or the one that ended the secession of the eleven Confederate States. Today we already have unmanned aerial predator drones flying over our homes. There would hardly be a need to send truckloads of soldiers into our neighborhoods when GPS tracked locations of hot spots can be fed into computers guiding those drones. We’ve all seen the amazing accuracy when they take out a terrorist in Afghanistan. One rather extremist web site (that destroyed their own credibility by claiming the U.S. government blew up the World Trade Center towers on 9-11-2001) has already suggested that a mysterious blast in an Indiana neighborhood that destroyed several homes was caused by a Hellfire missile fired from a Preditor drone. As far as rumors go, and just in case there are more of these “mysterious” explosions, simply checking the voter registrations or a Google search for the victim’s names would tell if any were active patriots. The variables that exist today make plans for war a very complex matter. We have FEMA arming the civilian national defense force that Obama promised us in 2008 (read Civil War In The U.S.? Brace Yourself). And DHS already has in place a program for neighborhood informants. Yes, they all refer to domestic terrorism but then again, Homeland Security has defined us as being the terrorists. Here is the official government announcement from FEMA from their web site.

Welcome to the FEMA Corps Inaugural Class

September 14, 2012

Vicksburg, Miss., Sep. 13, 2012 — FEMA Deputy Administrator Rich Serino gives the keynote address at the Induction Ceremony for the inaugural class of FEMA Corps members. FEMA Corps members assist with disaster preparedness, response, and recovery activities, providing support in areas ranging from working directly with disaster survivors to supporting disaster recovering centers to sharing valuable disaster preparedness and mitigation information with the public. Originially posted by Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) Deputy Administrator Rich Serino on Thursday, August 13, 2012

Yesterday, we welcomed 231 energetic members into the first ever FEMA Corps class. The members just finished off their first month of training with our partners at the Corporation for National and Community Service (CNCS) and are one step closer to working in the field on disaster response and recovery. They will now head to FEMA’s Center for Domestic Preparedness to spend the next two weeks training in their FEMA position-specific roles. Once they complete both the CNCS and FEMA training, these 231 dedicated FEMA Corps members will be qualified to work in one of a variety of disaster related roles, ranging from Community Relations to Disaster Recovery Center support.

Or this commentary on the same story from the web site called White Out Press. And I do remember the historical comparisons between Obama’s Civilian National Defense Corps and Hitler’s youthful brownshirts. The revelation that Homeland Security has been purchasing millions of rounds of hollow-point bullets, a type of ammunition banned in warfare by international conventions, is not very reassuring.

Homeland Security graduates first Corps of Homeland Youth

October 7, 2012. Vicksburg. The federal government calls them FEMA Corps. But they conjure up memories of the Hitler Youth of 1930’s Germany. Regardless of their name, the Dept of Homeland Security has just graduated its first class of 231 Homeland Youth. Kids, aged 18-24 and recruited from the President’s AmeriCorp volunteers, they represent the first wave of DHS’s youth corps, designed specifically to create a full time, paid, standing army of FEMA Youth across the country.

September 13, 2012, the Dept of Homeland Security graduated its first class of FEMA Corps youth, aka the Homeland Youth. Image courtesy of DHS.gov.

On September 13, 2012, the Department of Homeland Security graduated its first class of FEMA Corps first-responders. While the idea of having a volunteer force of tens of thousands of volunteers scattered across the country to aid in times of natural disasters sounds great, the details and timing of this new government army is somewhat curious, if not disturbing.

DHS raising an armed army
The first problem one finds with this ‘new army’ is the fact that they are mere children. Yes, 18 is generally the legal age a person can sign a contract, join the military or be tried as an adult. But ask any parent – an 18, 20 or even a 24 year-old is still a naïve, readily-influenced kid.

The second problem with this announcement and program is its timing. Over the past two years, President Obama has signed a number of Executive Orders suspending all civil and Constitutional rights and turning over management of an America under Martial Law to FEMA. Also in that time, domestic federal agencies under DHS, including FEMA, have ordered billions of rounds of ammunition as well as the corresponding firearms. Admittedly, these new weapons and ammunition aren’t to be used in some far-off war or to fight forest fires in California, but right here on the streets of America.

Today we have groups like the Oath Keepers who desire to remind military and law enforcement about their Constitutional oaths to uphold the Constitution and to disobey unlawful orders to confiscate civilian firearms. We have FBI infiltrators joining local Militias to root out any threats of violence, presumably against the government because they have been directed to remove referenced to Islamic inspired terrorism from their training manuals. We see the Obama administration planning to take over the Internet, which up to now has been the most popular method of conservative groups to communicate. When we read how people in other countries have relied upon social media to pass along information in their quests for civil rights and how easy it would be to flip a switch and cut off cell phones it makes it very easy for a tyrannical regime to fight their own population in modern times. So unlike the early predictions made by Southern gentlemen that the Civil War would be quickly decided, a new Civil War will be a long and hard fought battle to restore the rights and freedom of our country. In the famous words of St. Augustin, “Work as if everything depended upon you and Pray as if everything depended upon God.” Or as the memorable WWII song goes, “Praise the Lord and Pass the Ammunition.” It was an American patriotic song written by Frank Loesser and published in 1942 by Famous Music Corp. The song was a response to the attack on Pearl Harbor that marked United States involvement in World War II. I think we will be singing it again. And, if Admiral Yamamoto’s fear that Americans had a gun behind every blade of grass was accurate in WWII, then today, thanks to Obama, we probably have two guns behind every blade of grass.

So-Far, So-Good

Arlene from Israel

Other obligations prevent me from reviewing background on our historical and legal rights to the land today. But I do not want to let the day go by without an update on the “Abbas-UN” situation:

And as I write, it is, so-far, so-good, because I’m seeing no backtracking on Israeli government announcements. The contrary, actually.

In several quarters the Israeli response to Abbas’s move at the UN elicited surprise because just days ago a decision had been made — which I wrote about — to keep a low profile and wait and see how matters progressed.

It seems clear to me that what turned the situation about was not the fact that Abbas went to the General Assembly, but the outrageous way in which he spoke about Israel from that podium. It likely pushed a lot of buttons. (If you see Netanyahu’s statement to the Cabinet, link below, he alludes to this.)

Now I am reading that 1,000 housing units may be built in area E1 between Ma’ale Adumim and Jerusalem. The mayor of the city, Benny Kashriel, says he has plans for 3,500 units waiting for approval.

There are some very specific reasons why the prospect of Israel building in E1 elicits an exceedingly strong opposition in the US and elsewhere: It is often said that were Israeli housing to be constructed in this area it would prevent a contiguous Palestinian state from being established. But this is not so — there is certainly area to the east of Ma’ale Adumim that could, in theory, be established as part of a Palestinian state.

No, the alarm is about the fact that our building directly to the east of Jerusalem would prevent the Arabs from moving into that area so that they would abut Jerusalem and be able to establish eastern Jerusalem, most particularly the heavily Arab portion of eastern Jerusalem, as their capital. What they insist has to be contiguous is the area from Ramallah, moving down adjacent to eastern Jerusalem and into Abu Dis and south to Bethlehem. Simply abutting all-Jewish Pisgat Ze’ev or Har Homa would not do it for them. See the map. Otherwise, there is no, “Jerusalem as the capital of two states.”

How about that.

Credit: jr.co.il

I selected this map, which I’m using for the second time now, because it has the most illustrative clarity of any that I found — but I want to note that it places “Israel” inside the Green Line, a ludicrous notion to which I certainly do not subscribe.

PLO Executive Committee member Hanan Ashrawi told a press conference yesterday that the PA might lodge a complaint with the International Criminal Court against Israel because of the Israeli decision to do construction past the Green Line.

She maintained that this was a “war crime,” and an “act of aggression against the State of Palestine,” and forbidden by the Fourth Geneva Convention.

A sign of how much the PLO is disturbed by what we’re doing, but notions of seeking redress from the ICC are ridiculous.

In an analysis on the “Palestinian ICC threat” on Friday, Yonah Jeremy Bob, JPost legal correspondent, wrote (emphasis added):

“…top current and former government officials as well as other legal commentators…say the threat is overblown. They say some Palestinian spokespeople threatening ICC action for everything from settlements to what many view as the far-fetched claim of poisoning former Palestinian Yasser Arafat, have made it a mantra that is thrown around without much thought.

“The hard realities of what attempted Palestinian action at the ICC would mean for the Palestinians is another matter entirely.

“…if it took the ICC prosecutor three years to decide whether or not to open a formal investigation, let alone file an indictment, any actual case at the ICC could easily take eight to 10 years, with highly doubtful results.

“Hardly an exclamation point for statehood.

“Even some pro-Palestinian legal commentators say going to the ICC, presuming the considerable obstacles to access are overcome, would be a gross tactical error. Some have admitted that once the playing field moves from public relations to law, the Palestinians are at a distinct disadvantage.

“…the ICC generally does not get involved if a country investigates itself, as Israel claims it does, including Israel’s unusually frequent judicial review by the High Court of Justice.

“While this could prevent ICC cases against Israel, the Palestinians have a fraction, if any, of the self-investigating legal mechanisms Israel has, again making them an easier target for the ICC than Israel, the sources said.

“Essentially, the sources say that the prosecutor would be convicting Palestinian war criminals long before it was finished sifting through the complicated evidence in any case against Israel.”

On Friday, Hillary Clinton delivered a talk about the current situation at the annual Saban Forum of the Brookings Institution in Washington. A couple of points merit a closer look:

“We have to convince Palestinians that direct negotiations with Israel represent not just the best but the only path to the independent state they deserve..

Thus, she suggested, “the more generous Israel can be” the more Palestinians will believe they have a stake in the future.

There are a couple of things wrong with this. The notion that economic hardship and not ideology motivates the Arabs has been disproved again and again, and yet it continues to be promoted, including by some in Israel (most notably Shimon Peres). There is absolutely no reason to believe that if Israel is “generous” the Palestinian Arabs will suddenly morph into placid partners for peace. PA leaders have a history of taking and then biting the hand that has provided them with largesse.

Quite frankly, Israel is tired of being “generous.” More about this below.

Clinton said as well that “we also need to see that the Palestinian Authority in the West Bank still offers the most compelling alternative to rockets and permanent resistance.”

She wants to buoy up a notably weak, unsuccessful and corrupt PA — which has done next to nothing with regard to establishing a state in positive terms or helping its citizens thrive or preparing its people for peace — so that it might present the Arab in the street with an attractive alternative to Hamas and rockets.

There is so much wrong with this. Hamas and its resistance ideology is very popular on the street, more popular than the PA. As the PA has not educated for peace in almost 20 years, and still praises “martyrs for jihad,” there is no reason we should expect anything else. Their textbooks promote the illegitimacy of Israel, in any borders.

But Clinton wants Israel to so boost the PA that people will go along with the peace process as the better deal?

Notice that the onus once again is on Israel, to make this happen. Palestinian Arabs are not held accountable for their failures.

Dan Shapiro, the US Ambassador to Israel, has an article in Israel Hayom today, and he manifests some confusion about Hamas and the PA as well. Towards the end of his piece, “Getting to the Ceasefire,” he writes:

“The status quo after the cease-fire is by no means a permanent solution. There is a need on all sides to step up efforts to stop the smuggling of weapons into Gaza to replace those that were destroyed or used, to prevent a repeat of violence. All sides must act consistently with the goal of resuming direct negotiations to achieve a two-state solution, which will be necessary for durable stability, security, and prosperity for Israelis and Palestinians alike. ” (Emphasis added)

Hold the horses. There are two different issues being conflated here and this is dangerous. “All sides”? Hamas was never part of direct negotiations for a two-state solution — and it’s Hamas he’s talking about in this paragraph. Israel would not sit down with Hamas unless it renounced terror in any event; and Hamas has never embraced the negotiations route the PLO pretends to be taking. In fact, were we to approach an accord with the PA, Hamas would likely step up its violence to undo it.

A whole lot more is needed than direct negotiations with the PA for a two-state solution, if the danger of Hamas is to be undone.

Is Shapiro, perchance, hinting at a unification of Fatah and Hamas with Israel negotiating with one unity government? I sure hope not. It’s bad news if this is where the Obama government is headed.

But it’s not exactly good news, either, if the US representative here in Israel conflates the issues of our relationship with Hamas and our relationship with the PA/PLO.

In her talk to the Saban Forum, Clinton listed specific ways in which Israel can be as “generous” as possible. One was “expediting tax revenues to the PA.” And on this she is undoubtedly very disappointed:

Finance Minister Yuval Steinitz (left, below), in joint decision with PM Netanyahu, announced today that he was withholding tax funds collected for the PA in November, amounting to 450 million shekels.

Credit: GPO

This, as I understand it, is a legal action because the PA is deeply in debt for electricity supplied by Israel. They have not been meeting payments, and “nice guys” that we are, we let this pass all together too long. Today Steinitz said, “I will subtract the sum from their debts.”

On November 11, Steinitz had warned that “If the Palestinians continue with their unilateral move, they should not expect bilateral cooperation. We will not collect their taxes for them, and will not transfer tax revenue.”

The 1994 Paris Protocol of the Oslo Accords regulated certain economic ties between Israel and the PA, among them collection by Israel of tax revenues for the PA. At this point it was felt that as Abbas has acted in defiance of those Accords, so can Israel respond accordingly.

At today’s meeting, according to Haaretz, the Cabinet unanimously decided to reject the UN General Assembly decision [on upgrading the status of the PLO]. “In the decision it was written that the West Bank (Judea and Samaria) is a “contested area” over which the “Jewish people have a natural right.” (Emphasis added)

I particularly appreciate the reference to a natural right of the Jewish people, which moves us beyond references to areas necessary for security reasons. We have not yet come to a place of official acceptance by the government of the Levy Report, but I feel a movement in the right direction. We’ve apparently been pushed hard enough to stand up for ourselves more explicitly. (Yes, no need to write to me: I know it shouldn’t require this, but…)

The Cabinet statement made it clear, as well, reports Haaretz, that the UN General Assembly decision “will not serve as the basis for future negotiations with the Palestinian Authority and it cannot advance a peaceful solution.”

Egypt’s Morsi is laying the bricks for an Islamic democracy

By: Ashraf Ramelah
Voice of the Copts

Mursi ended his first night in the Kingdom by heading to Mecca and performing Umrah. Reuters

President Morsi’s leadership is analogous to the pharaohs of ancient Egypt, at least in the eyes of his opposition figure ElBaradei. He meant it as an insult to Mr. Morsi in light of the President’s greed for power. Truthfully, it is an insult to world history, but no worse than claiming Mr. Morsi is a broker for peace in the Middle East or that his objective for Egypt is to fulfill the aspirations of the January, 2011 uprising.

Mr. Morsi’s November 22nd Amendment to Egypt’s constitution is illegitimate and concretes his authority. With it he places himself above Egyptian law and the legal system and grants himself the last word on his decrees. Morsi has unilaterally altered Egypt’s constitution to concentrate power in his own hands. This facilitates Egypt’s move in the direction of an Islamist Shariah state.

Mr. Morsi expects the Egyptian people and the world to believe that his recent power grab is temporary and that with it, his only intentions are to purge Mubarak remnants or keep them in check. This is unlikely given that he and his party have proven to be inveterate liars beginning with the statement made during the 2011 uprising that the Muslim Brotherhood had no political aspirations.

Perfectly timed and with the patience of a saint, Morsi made his move on the heels of the cease-fire between Israel and the Gaza terrorists. There were earlier power grabs by Morsi in the first one hundred days of his installment as President, but not as bold as this illegal act. Overstepping the bounds of his authority, he revised Egypt’s constitution to afford his office excessive power. It is an ominous signal — the death knell for democracy in Egypt.

Even though Morsi couches his reform in lofty democratic terms saying he has done this, “to protect Egypt and its people, deal with the members of the former regime with the utmost firmness and strength, establish a new legitimate constitution which lays crown pillars of good governance based upon the principles of freedom, justice and democracy,” the world and the Egyptian people see an autocrat. He is edging Egypt into something much worse than the Brotherhood-shunning regimes of Egypt’s past.

Already world response has been to deem Egypt unstable. The International Monetary Fund waits and watches not yet willing to release aid to Egypt. Inside the country, freedom fighters are furious with the President’s audacity and have reacted by burning local offices of the Muslim Brotherhood around the country and now gather in Tahrir Square for protests similar to January, 2011. However, Morsi has managed to impress the Arab-Muslim Umma and this is a huge accomplishment for him.

Mr. Morsi was elected with a mandate to demolish the former regime — eliminate important figures, tear down infrastructure and abolish corruption from state institutions –- as a necessary part of the responsibility and the promise to build democracy (beginning with social justice and human rights). Is he instead erecting the Islamist state for which he has been groomed to lead? Morsi’s democracy is merely a pretense readily exploited by him to garner power and control.

In his latest maneuver — his November 22 Constitutional Amendment — he carved out six strongholds on a course to strengthen his Brotherhood-backed Sharia agenda. Let’s examine his six items in the order written. President Morsi appears to devote his first matter of business to the Egyptian pro-democracy liberals and freedom fighters. He requires a reopening of investigations and a re-trial for those arrested earlier (but dismissed for lack of evidence) for the murders of freedom fighters during the uprising of 2011.

Is it due to Morsi’s deep regard for justice and his passion for democratic principles? Or is it just a shiny object to distract the populace from more significant issues like the drafting of Egypt’s new constitution with Sharia elements? Furthermore, reopening these cases advances his agenda to release Brotherhood members long under suspicion of crimes against the 2011 demonstrators.

Mr. Morsi’s second item renders absolute all his decisions stating that “all constitutional amendments, past and new laws, and previous decisions made by the President of the Republic since he took office in June 30, 2012 until the approval of a new constitution and election of new members of parliament are to be final and binding. They cannot be challenged by any means or by any judicial body.” Morsi removes all obstructions from his path.

His third item states that Attorney General, Abdel Meguid Mahmoud, is to be removed from office and replaced by one member of the Judiciary for a four year term chosen by the President. This is mandatory and takes effect immediately. Earlier in November Mahmoud refused to submit his resignation at Morsi’s request or to accept the position of envoy to the Holy See. Now Morsi fires Mahmoud by a constitutional amendment.

Item number four overrides Article 60 of the constitution, the amendment added by the Supreme Council of Armed Forces on March 30 of last year giving the Constitutional Assembly until December 13, 2012 to draft Egypt’s new constitution. Now Morsi extends the deadline for another two months into February.

In Item five, Morsi strips the judicial body, including the Constitutional Court, of its legal power to dissolve the Shura Council (lower Parliament) or dissolve the Constitutional Assembly. This is a reaction to the court’s dissolution of the Parliament and the Constitutional Assembly days prior to the Presidential election. Is Morsi destroying the existing legal system in order to put in place Sharia courts?

The sixth and final item proclaims that the President of the Republic can take appropriate measures and any needed action to confront threats to the nation regarding national unity, safety of the nation and hindrances to the performance of the role of state institutions or similar events to the uprising of January, 2011. Here, Morsi reinstates the emergency law following in the footsteps of Mubarak (and Sadat and Nasser before him) with a regulation that could readily facilitate Sharia enforcement squads throughout the country.

President Morsi has placed himself above the law and silenced opposition voices. Food shortages, unemployment, rising prices, absence of police protection, production and manufacturing issues; all plague the country as the people await President Morsi’s first concerns to protect his own power and serve his party’s Islamic interests.

Already, Mr. Morsi is contradicting his new law which extends the deadline for the constitution draft. The reason for this is most likely to avoid another embarrassing clash with the Constitutional Court – a public relations disaster for him. He urges the Constitutional Assembly to have the draft written before December 2, at which time the Assembly automatically disbands. This also allows Mr. Morsi to publicly announce the date of the referendum before December 2 and to have the draft approved within two weeks by the people.

Most importantly, Mr. Morsi avoids another dreaded defeat by the judicial system because the Constitutional Court will no longer need to convene on this issue. The fate of the Constitutional Assembly is in the hands of Morsi now and not the Court.

Egypt’s new constitution draft affords the same level of power to Mr. Morsi and the executive office as he has right now. The people should reject it outright by refusing to take part in the referendum. If that won’t work, casting a “no” vote will.

Policing the Schutzstaffel

By: Terresa Monroe-Hamilton

Adolf Hitler inspects the Leibstandarte SS Adolf Hitler on arrival at Klagenfurt in April 1938. Heinrich Himmler is standing slightly behind Hitler’s right side.

Those who know history, know that tyrants constantly ‘cleanse’ or ‘purge’ their ranks of those they perceive as disloyal to the powers that be. They rule with an iron fist and with total control, because not to is to expose their political jugular to their enemies. It truly is dog eat fascist dog. This is very true in the Obama sphere of influence and within the ranks of his court. So, in the true tradition of dumping earth shaking news before a holiday or on a Friday, the day before Thanksgiving, Obama published a memo laying out guidelines for executive agencies to establish “effective insider threat programs.” Though vague, the wording is noteworthy and very interesting:

Presidential Memorandum — National Insider Threat Policy and Minimum Standards for Executive Branch Insider Threat Programs

SUBJECT: National Insider Threat Policy and Minimum Standards for Executive Branch Insider Threat Programs

This Presidential Memorandum transmits the National Insider Threat Policy and Minimum Standards for Executive Branch Insider Threat Programs (Minimum Standards) to provide direction and guidance to promote the development of effective insider threat programs within departments and agencies to deter, detect, and mitigate actions by employees who may represent a threat to national security. These threats encompass potential espionage, violent acts against the Government or the Nation, and unauthorized disclosure of classified information, including the vast amounts of classified data available on interconnected United States Government computer networks and systems.

The Minimum Standards provide departments and agencies with the minimum elements necessary to establish effective insider threat programs. These elements include the capability to gather, integrate, and centrally analyze and respond to key threat-related information; monitor employee use of classified networks; provide the workforce with insider threat awareness training; and protect the civil liberties and privacy of all personnel.

The resulting insider threat capabilities will strengthen the protection of classified information across the executive branch and reinforce our defenses against both adversaries and insiders who misuse their access and endanger our national security.

Go ahead, read that memo again. Now explain to me how that is not an official government document that says in essence, “stop snitchin’.”

There will be those out there that will immediately pipe up with this being a valid move to halt insider leaks on sensitive issues, especially concerning Homeland Security. But wait, there’s more to this than meets the eye (isn’t that always the case with Obama?). In a stealth, but massive power grab, we have watched in horror as the Executive Branch has consolidated more and more power, making Congress irrelevant and to all appearances, making the three branches of government (or as Obama might say, the three branches of power), one in reality and invalidating the Constitution and our God-given freedoms we once knew and cherished. If you believe the media propaganda arm of the government, we did this willingly and enthusiastically — we did not and we continue to resist this trend. With the crafty use of czars and executive orders, instead of a transparent political system, Obama has converted it into a closed self-policing collective, where the loyal are rewarded and the dissenters are harshly dealt with. Government employees observe, note and report on one another now, much as the Nazi SS did.

Words matter, as do definitions and Obama has redefined what security and treason mean at the base level. A threat is now perceived as anyone who stands against Obama or his regime. This type of brutal control has foreshadowed some of the greatest atrocities in history. You only have to look to the Schutzstaffel for clarification:

The SS grew from a small paramilitary unit to a powerful force that served as the Führer’s “Praetorian Guard,” the Nazi Party’s “Protection Squadron” and a force that, fielding almost a million men (both on the front lines and as political police), managed to exert as much political influence in the Third Reich as the Wehrmacht (Germany’s regular armed forces).

As those in our Marxist government now march in lockstep and chant Obama’s version of ‘Sieg Heil!’, the noose is tightening on America and what we once stood for. This is now spreading across the globe. The seizure of total control is closely followed by war. Every time. Those who would step forward to raise the alarm against the crimes of our leaders are being silenced. They now wind up in prison, de facto political prisoners. A disturbing part of that trend are those who speak against the Muslim Brotherhood and Obama’s love affair with them. Can’t America see what is really transpiring here? We must not silently let this menace continue to grow while strangling our freedoms. From The Daily Kos:

… promote the development of effective insider threat programs within departments and agencies to deter, detect, and mitigate actions by employees who may represent a threat to national security.

With regards to National Security:

…encompass potential espionage, violent acts against the Government or the Nation, and unauthorized disclosure of classified information,…

Does it seem to anyone else, that the term ‘National Security’ has been expanded in scope to include protecting the Administration from any consequences of its misconduct?

These evil individuals know that good, strong patriots are among their rank and file and they fear them. Thus they must be watched, controlled and possibly removed. Those with patriotic convictions will be considered violent simply for their viewpoints. Violence is in the eye of the fascist. Whistleblowing becomes espionage and the penalty is severe. The very definition of transparency has become opaque.

To muddy the waters and confuse those who would cause trouble even more, Obama just signed a bill that would protect those federal employees who expose fraud. But there is a catch – they are only protected if they are the first to report the misconduct. On your marks, get ready, rat out your co-worker!

From The Blaze:

The New York Times has pointed out in the past that the Obama administration has prosecuted more government officials for leaking information to the press than any other administration combined.

These policies, regulations and subjective laws are being used in connection to the Bradley Manning case (WikiLeaks) and others. These maneuvers will be utilized to provide cover and silence those involved in Benghazigate, Fast and Furious and a whole host of corruption involving Obama, Jarrett and their henchmen, while protecting the Muslim Brotherhood and covering the vast connections between Obama, Jarrett, Rice and others with Iran, Turkey and other radical Islamists. Are you beginning to see a trend here? I am.

Policing the Schutzstaffel is just one piece of a very evil picture that is gaining clarity. As one high-level intel individual roughly put it: I don’t fear another attack on the US, I fear the fall of the US without an explosion. America is falling from within without a shot fired. Looks like Obama’s SS is doing its job thoroughly.
