Canning Riots 2013: Persecution of Hindus In West Bengal

A Pogrom of Yesteryear – A depiction of Hep-Hep Riots, Frankfurt, 1819

The Canning Riots took place in Canning in the Indian State of West Bengal on 21 February 2013. (1) It is clear from the reports that the motivation for what was effectively a kind of pogrom was religious intolerance. The reports create a similar picture to the Hepp-Hepp Riots (2) against Jews in Frankfurt in 1819 that is depicted in the picture above. An article on the website of Organiser (3) a well-established newspaper opens as follows in relation to the events in Canning:

“A well organised and meticulously planned attack on Hindus unleashed havoc in different parts of Naliakhari area under Canning PS in the South 24 Paraganas district of West Bengal on 19/02/13.”

It went on to suggest a definite religious motivation for the acts of violence and disorder that took place. The article goes on to report about the looting, the arson, the willful destruction of property, and the desecration of temples and religious idols. It referred to inaction on the part of police who were on the scene and the silence of much of the established media. The reaction of the authorities and the press shows much similarity to what often happens in Western countries. Read the Organiser article HERE.

NDTV reported that as many as 200 homes had been burnt down during the riots. (4) Struggle for Hindu Existence (5) reported on a subsequent demonstration that took place in Delhi to protest about the events in Canning. Video from the aftermath of the riots can be found on the Struggle for Hindu Existence website (6) together with an English language transcript. The following is the video:

These riots come as Islamists lobby for a second partition of India to create an Islamic super state called Mughalistan that would incorporate Pakistan, Bangladesh and a swathe of territory currently part of India that would physically join Pakistan together with Bangladesh. BengalGenocide.com shows a map that illustrates the geographical form that Mughalistan, would take. (7) Of course the creation of Mughalistan would be nothing more than a religiously inspired land grab.

It could be argued that what is happening in places like Canning is attempted ethnic cleansing of the Hindu populations to make way for the dream of Mughalistan. Government response to ethnic cleansing should be firm but it would appear that the state government of West Bengal is being very casual in its response. The response of the authorities to the Canning Riots in 2013, seems to be very similar the attitude of authorties with regard to the Hepp-Hepp Riots in 19th Century Frankfurt. Perhaps the authorities have a hidden agenda of their own?

The Organisation of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) of course has been remarkably silent about the religious persecution evident in the 2013 Canning Riots. The OIC it must be remembered is supposed to be the conscience of the world when it comes to standing up to religious intolerance. The reality of course it that OIC talk about religious freedom is nothing more than the total freedom that they want to expand the reach of the unjust and iniquitous system known as sharia law. Of course it is likely that the OIC is more excited by the prospect of a Mughalistan than it is about the suffering of Hindus and their right to peace, security, and dignity.

The International Civil Liberties Alliance (ICLA) calls upon to Government of the State of West Bengal and the National Government of India to act to prevent the persecution of Hindu’s in West Bengal. ICLA also calls upon the OIC to demonstrate its sincerity with regard to protecting religious freedoms. It could do this by condemning the actions of those who attacked the Hindus of Canning. If the OIC is unable to do this then it is quite clear that the OIC is not interested in religious freedom and that its efforts in the United Nations and elsewhere are merely a sham intended only to expand the reach of sharia.

Sunday Worship: Five Smooth Stones

By: Jeff Bayard
Right Side News

Today’s edition contains:

  • 1. Daniel Fast
  • 2. David and Goliath: Five Smooth Stones
  • 3. Listen: Letter By Christian Pastor Being Brutalized In Iranian Jail, Ignored By Obama, Smuggled Out, video below

“The power of fasting has less to do with food than setting yourself apart for a specific period of time to focus more on the Lord, prayer, and worship”…Susan Gregory, The Daniel Fast

On February 9th, my wife and I began the Daniel Fast, which is a partial fast, to focus more on our spiritual lives and to “feed our souls, strengthen our spirits and renew our bodies.” These 16 days also brought weight loss and strengthened discipline. Day 4 in Ms, Gregory’s daily devotion section in her book made a wonderful impression on me and is titled Five Smooth Stones. Do you believe that the Biblical account of David and Goliath to be true? Read on, and the History Channel provides some keen insight in their video below.

Verse: 1 Samuel 17:39-40

Then Saul outfitted David as a soldier in armor. He put his bronze helmet on his head and belted his sword on him over the armor. David tried to walk but he could hardly budge. David told Saul, “I can’t even move with all this stuff on me. I’m not used to this.” And he took it all off. Then David took his shepherd’s staff, selected five smooth stones from the brook, and put them in the pocket of his shepherd’s pack and with his sling in his hand approached Goliath.

We know the rest, as David killed Goliath with his first shot. She goes on to write how she selected five smooth stones of her own, scripture verses to use during her own fast, which was 7 weeks. She would memorize them, study and learn them, and wield them against her own giants that beset her. My first one is 2nd Corinthians 10:4-5.

I enjoyed reading the historical account of David and Goliath again, and went deeper into David’s weapon of choice, the sling and the stones.

First, the stones… five of them, and they were smooth. Every word in scripture has significance. Why did David choose five smooth stones before going to fight Goliath? Was David doubting God? Was it because Goliath had five brothers? Or, was David simply being prepared? Read answers here.

What is the biblical significance of the number FIVE. This is the number of power and Divine grace.

  • Five kinds of animals were sacrificed under the Old Covenant Law of sacrifice: goats, sheep, cattle, pigeons and doves [Genesis 15:9; Exodus 29:38; Leviticus 1:1-17; 3:1; 4:3, 14, 23, 28; 5:6-7]
  • God changed Abram’s name to Abraham by adding the letter/number five to his name [Genesis 17:5]. He changed Sarai’s name by adding the same letter/number with the value of “grace” to form the name Sarah [Genesis 17:15]. Abraham and Sarah were transformed by grace to become the parents of a family from which the Messiah would be born
  • The Tabernacle was measured in multiples of five [Exodus 25 – 27]
  • There are five books of the Torah (first 5 books of the Old Testament)
  • Matthew’s Gospel is divided into five “books” composed of five narratives and five discourses.
  • Jesus bled from five wounds on the altar of the Cross: His two hands, his two feet and His head.
  • Daniel proclaimed the Fifth Kingdom to be an Everlasting Kingdom [Daniel 2:37-44].

Five Greek words form the acrostic phrase “Jesus Christ, God’s Son Savior,” taking the first letter in Greek from each word forms the Greek word for “fish”: Iota, Chi, Theta, Epsilon, Sigma = (ichthys) “FISH”, which became a symbol for Christ and a secret symbol for identifying Christians.

I know there is more to the significance of David picking FIVE stones than mentioned here.

Why SMOOTH stones?

First, they were smooth river stones, washed and slowly smoothed by the running water, as we are also slowly transformed by God’s word, His living water.

1. Had they been rough or angular, they would not have passed easily through the air, and their asperities would, in the course of their passage, have given them a false direction.

2. Had they not been smooth, they could not have been readily despatched from the sling. (Clarke’s commentary)

Finally,

Those that do not believe the Bible to be an historical account due to perhaps a lack of knowledge and the description of Goliath being of David and Goliath due to the description of Goliath’s immense size and wearing over 100 pounds of armor.

1 Samuel 17:4 states Goliath was 6 cubits and a span tall, or at least 9 feet. Six cubits – At least, nine feet, nine inches high. And this is not strange; for besides the giants mentioned in Scripture, Herodotus, Diodorus Siculus, and Pliny, make mention of persons seven cubits high. Archeology supports human skeletons as tall as 30 feet. http://www.ancient-wisdom.co.uk/giants.htm

The next verse describes Goliath’s helmet being five thousand shekels made one thousand two hundred and fifty ounces, or seventy – eight pounds: which weight is not unsuitable to a man of such vast strength as his height speaks him to be.

was it possible for a mere boy to use a sling and a stone to kill Goliath?
The History Channel provides the following………

What can we take away from this? When facing our giants, doing so on the solid ground of our faith in the Lord, and when I read the reply David gave Goliath.

LORD of hosts, the God of the armies of Israel, whom thou hast defied.

1Sa 17:46 This day will the LORD deliver thee into mine hand; and I will smite thee, and take thine head from thee; and I will give the carcases of the host of the Philistines this day unto the fowls of the air, and to the wild beasts of the earth; that all the earth may know that there is a God in Israel.

But, as we all know, we will be persecuted when we step out of our comfort zone, either at work or elsewhere.

FOX NEWS: American pastor Saeed Abedini, jailed in a notoriously brutal Iranian prison for his Christian faith, is facing physical and psychological torture at the hands of captors demanding he renounce his beliefs, according to supporters.

The 32-year-old married father of two, who left his home in Boise, Idaho, to help start an orphanage in his latest country, detailed “horrific pressures” and “death threats,” is a letter to family members, according to his U.S.-based attorneys……………. more on Pat Dollards site.

The UN the US & the False Pretense of Peace

UN-Bolivian_soldier_prepares_to_fire

The United Nations Secretary-General Ban Ki- moon has stated that, “The world is over-armed and peace is underfunded.” Knowing the background of the United Nations I am assuming he thinks this is a bad idea. His is the opposite of the doctrine adopted around the time of the cold war known as “mutually assured destruction.” His idea essentially is “mutually assured peace?” Cute little vision you have there Ban-Ki. The million dollar question: will it work? Will Ban’s Utopian dream of a world where we all sing “Kumbaya” and live in peace work? Hate to burst your bubble, but not a chance.

In case you haven’t noticed we do have enemies that would like to see the United States cease to exist.

The notion that if you disarm the world, then some Utopian dream is going to be achieved, is simply absurd.

Here is just a portion of the goals that U.N. member states have agreed to try to achieve by 2015.

United Nations Millennium Declaration

II. Peace, security and disarmament

8. We will spare no effort to free our peoples from the scourge of war, whether within or between States, which has claimed more than 5 million lives in the past decade. We will also seek to eliminate the dangers posed by weapons of mass destruction.

9. We resolve therefore:

• To strengthen respect for the rule of law in international as in national affairs and, in particular, to ensure compliance by Member States with the decisions of the International Court of Justice, in compliance with the Charter of the United Nations, in cases to which they are parties.

• To make the United Nations more effective in maintaining peace and security by giving it the resources and tools it needs for conflict prevention, peaceful resolution of disputes, peacekeeping, post-conflict peace-building and reconstruction. In this context, we take note of the report of the Panel on United Nations Peace Operations and request the General Assembly to consider its recommendations expeditiously.

• To strengthen cooperation between the United Nations and regional organizations, in accordance with the provisions of Chapter VIII of the Charter

• To ensure the implementation, by States Parties, of treaties in areas such as arms control and disarmament and of international humanitarian law and human rights law, and call upon all States to consider signing and ratifying the Rome Statute of the International Criminal Court.

• To take concerted action against international terrorism, and to accede as soon as possible to all the relevant international conventions.

• To redouble our efforts to implement our commitment to counter the world drug problem.

• To intensify our efforts to fight transnational crime in all its dimensions, including trafficking as well as smuggling in human beings and money laundering.

• To minimize the adverse effects of United Nations economic sanctions on innocent populations, to subject such sanctions regimes to regular reviews and to eliminate the adverse effects of sanctions on third parties.

• To strive for the elimination of weapons of mass destruction, particularly nuclear weapons, and to keep all options open for achieving this aim, including the possibility of convening an international conference to identify ways of eliminating nuclear dangers.

• To take concerted action to end illicit traffic in small arms and light weapons, especially by making arms transfers more transparent and supporting regional disarmament measures, taking account of all the recommendations of the forthcoming United Nations Conference on Illicit Trade in Small Arms and Light Weapons.

• To call on all States to consider acceding to the Convention on the Prohibition of the Use, Stockpiling, Production and Transfer of Anti-personnel Mines and on Their Destruction, as well as the amended mines protocol to the Convention on conventional weapons.

10. We urge Member States to observe the Olympic Truce, individually and collectively, now and in the future, and to support the International Olympic Committee in its efforts to promote peace and human understanding through sport and the Olympic Ideal.

Our Military is being transformed into global peacekeepers. Below are a couple examples of this.

Peacekeeping & Stability Operations Institute (US Army)

The German Armed Forces Command and Staff College in conjunction with German “Center for International Peace Operations (ZIF)” and the United States Army Peacekeeping and Stability Operations Institute (PKSOI) conducted a train-the-trainer course in United Nations training programs from 30 July to 10 August 2012

PKSOI US Army – http://pksoi.army.mil

Global Peace Operations Initiative

GPOI is a U.S. government-funded security assistance program intended to enhance international capacity to effectively conduct United Nations and regional peace support operations (PSOs) by building partner country capabilities to train and sustain peacekeeping proficiencies; increasing the number of capable military troops and formed police units (FPUs) available for deployment; and facilitating the preparation, logistical support, and deployment of military units and FPUs to PSOs.

US Department of State – http://www.state.gov/t/pm/ppa/gpoi

I still believe the majority of Americans support our military men and women. I also believe a generation is being brought up to see our military differently. I was brought up knowing that you joined the military you pledged an oath to the Constitution for the United States of America. Our military is not here to conduct peacekeeping missions around the world under a false premise of achieving world peace via the U.N. The reality is our military is being transformed into something it is not, and is being systematically dismantled regardless of the threats posed by other countries.

"America's Navy" as a "Global Force?" -- "for good?"

We are to believe the sovereign United States of “America’s Navy” is now a “Global Force” – “for good?”
