Hello everyone! Today is a tale of a book and a forgotten presentation. Glenn Beck’s new book was released on Nov. 19th. I picked up my copy on the 22nd and finished it on the 25th. That’s how good this history book is and it is totally engrossing. You are thrown into the middle of these forgotten or uncovered stories of history without the dry, boring date memorization or the dry, boring witless presentation. You will see history through the main character’s point of view and experiences. You will even experience their inner most thoughts. Now, parts of these stories concerning these histories were dramatized with literary license thrown in. This was required in order to present the story form as needed.
12 WAYS TO LEARN
These stories cover American history from 1781 to 2001. Amazing research and thought was put into this book in order to make it a thriller novel and still present a history of America without taking away the truth or the lessons learned. What fun! What I didn’t know until too late, was that the article I wrote on THE BATTLE OF ATHENS was included in the book already. But Glenn did the story more justice than my small little article ever could. The biggest surprise was the EASY EDDIE story. Wow! Who knew about that background story? Then there’s the sad part of our history that needs to be told and the disservice that was done to the true heroes and people of America through the auspices of the government and their own failings and missteps.
We also now know why some histories are covered up and/or forgotten about. We all know that both history and information are power and liberation. These are the basic things that governments throughout the ages have tried to control and hold over many of the people throughout history. For instance, in the BATTLE OF ATHENS, the government in its current form would have to be fearful of it happening again and repeating itself. They don’t want you to find out that 20 soldiers got medals of honor for killing unarmed Indians at Wounded Knee and no one said anything in protest against that action. The disservice the media and the FDR White House pulled off with IVA TOGURI, who was known as one of the six TOKYO ROSES, and the destruction of her life and reputation, was one of the most disgusting chapters of the 1940s.
Yes, I highly recommend MIRACLES AND MASSACRES to anyone and everyone, whether you are a Glenn Beck fan or not. I don’t care… I am a proud subscriber to THE BLAZE. This book would be a great asset to any high school history class or for any family reading time. Or even, GULP! a home schooling history course. Buy it as a Christmas gift or buy them for a school donation. You will be glad you did.
Ah, Thanksgiving… or more accurately this year, an interesting occurrence called Thanksnukkah, as Thanksgiving and Hannukah, the Jewish Festival of Lights and miracles overlap in a rare convergence that won’t happen again for some 70,000 years or so, thanks to Judaism’s lunar calender. The culinary possibilities are endless… latkes with pumpkin fillings, you name it. But for some interesting ideas for your Thanksgiving meal, I’ve provided a little something for you; an automatic Thanksgiving menu generator. Try it, it’s fun, even if someone still has to do the actual cooking.
Our president is involved in the festivities as well, giving generously to our new Iranian friends and engaging in the old tradition of giving a presidential pardon to two turkeys. This year’s recipients of the president’s full pardon are named Holder and Sebelius.
I may have gotten some of the details on that last part just a bit wrong… I think.
In any event, we here at the Council wish all of you a wonderful and blessed Thanksgiving and Chag Hannukah Sameach to those of you whom celebrate it.
And of course, a special Thanksgiving wish to those members of our American family whom are spending the holidays away from home and their families and protecting the rest of us so that we can fully enjoy our holiday in peace and freedom with our loved ones. You are not forgotten, believe me.

Accuracy in Media
Spy scandals might be sexy, but does the Valerie Plame “scandal” really deserve to be ranked alongside the sex scandals of Larry Craig, Anthony Weiner, and John Edwards? Earlier this month, ABC News ranked the Top 10 Political Scandals of the 21st century in a primetime special. Eight of the ten were sex-related scandals; one was about Rod Blagojevich, the former Illinois governor now serving a prison term for corruption; and the other was what the Bush administration supposedly did to the career of “outed CIA agent” Valerie Plame.
“Tonight an outrageous, irreverent, top 10 list of the bad boys club,” stated the voice-over for the special. But they never quite say who the “bad boy” is in the case of Valerie Plame. The real scandal is ABC’s inclusion of this story as one of its Top 10.
A spokesperson for the network said that “A panel of politicos helped us put together the top ten scandals of the century.” Those politicos reached outside the “bad boy” box to target what they considered an abuse of power, but they widely missed their mark. One might question whether the IRS or Benghazi scandals of the Obama administration might deserve to be included as top political scandals of the 21st century, given the direction taken with Plame and the abuse heaped on the Bush administration here. Then again, those might have actually reflected badly on the Obama administration, a theme almost always off-limits for the mainstream media.
When asked about the motivations behind choosing these particular scandals, a representative for ABC wrote AIM that “Part of what made this show unique was the input from political players and pundits across the political spectrum. Many scandals were discussed—these generated the most and the most passionate discussion so that’s where we focused our efforts.” It was described as “an unscientific and fun countdown.”
However, early on, viewers of this program, produced by Lincoln Square Productions, a production house owned by ABC News, were assaulted with two minutes of error-filled misrepresentations and lies about Valerie Plame and the Bush administration, ranked Number 9 of the 10 scandals.
The section heavily features Plame talking about her husband and those who “outed her,” supposedly for political reasons. “It just felt like I had been sucker-punched. I was concerned about the assets with whom I had worked with over the years, because they were in jeopardy,” said Plame in the segment.
Now she gets to make movies, write books, and go on television to talk about what happened to her—all the high profile actions of someone who doesn’t seem at all concerned about what happens to those who knew her in her former career. Or maybe she thinks at this point it doesn’t matter. But at some point it did. “To expose Valerie Plame, and put her at some risk, shows just how angry they were and how vindictive they could be. It was an abuse of power,” claimed Terry Moran, ABC News Chief Foreign Correspondent, during the broadcast. This fits with the set of events as Plame and Wilson would wish their audience to see them.
It ignores the fact that Wilson deliberately placed himself in the spotlight in the first place. “Those news stories about that unnamed former envoy who went to Niger? That’s me,” wrote Wilson in a 2003 op-ed. Not content to be cited as a source regarding the evidence for the absence of nuclear weapons in Iraq, Wilson had to go on record as the source himself. He outed himself to the media, as this column shows.
I pointed out in a report critiquing the movie based on Plame’s book, Fair Game, many of the distortions and inaccuracies built into her story. Stan Crock, in World Affairs Journal, wrote, “Valerie Plame says in her memoir that she read the report that the CIA wrote immediately after debriefing Wilson on his trip and also read his column before it was published. She added that she thought the column was accurate. She said the report was only a few pages long. No one, let alone a professional intelligence officer, could have missed the part about Iraq trying to buy yellowcake. She had to know the column was wrong, but evidently said nothing. So she was anything but an innocent bystander as her husband created a political firestorm.”
The late Christopher Hitchens, in 2006, reported that there was indeed evidence that Saddam Hussein may have sought uranium from Niger, contrary to Wilson’s report.
Even The Washington Post called Joe Wilson a “blowhard,” and said that all of the major claims in his op-ed “were false.”
But, according to the ABC broadcast, “Valerie Plame was an undercover CIA spy until someone in the White House blew her cover because they were pissed at her husband. Wow.” Actually, it was State Department official Richard Armitage, who was himself opposed to the war in Iraq, who leaked Valerie Plame’s CIA identity to the late Robert Novak. Novak was also opposed to the war, and wrote regarding the duo, “Wilson never worked for the CIA, but his wife, Valerie Plame, is an agency operative on weapons of mass destruction. Two senior administration officials told me that Wilson’s wife suggested sending him to Niger to investigate the Italian report.”
The ABC segment on Plame took the time to highlight the film Fair Game, but not what the media has said about its falsifications and misrepresentations. As I wrote in 2011, “The three basic lies of the story they tell are these: 1) The Bush administration knowingly lied us into war against Saddam Hussein’s Iraq by twisting evidence to make people believe that Saddam had weapons of mass destruction (WMD) and was a threat to this country; and 2) when former ambassador Wilson blew the whistle on Bush and Cheney for doing so, they got back at him by outing his wife, a covert CIA agent; and 3) Scooter Libby led the White House effort to out Ms. Plame and discredit her husband, and then took the fall for the administration.”
“Within these lies are a whole series of lies and misrepresentations and deliberate damage done to the reputations of a lot of people.”
The Washington Post said the film is “full of distortions—not to mention outright inventions.”
This ABC segment continues Wilson and Plame’s lies and misrepresentations by appearing to rely on the same tales that we and others have already debunked. They should know better. It’s unfortunate that this story has to be re-litigated time and again.
If political scandals were in their pile of considerations, what about the scandals of the Obama administration, including Operation Fast and Furious, Solyndra, using the IRS to target and hamstring political enemies during an election cycle, Benghazi—not to mention lying to the American people to sell them Obamacare, promising “If you like your healthcare plan, you can keep it. Period.” No scandals there?

On the last day of his teaching career, as a parting shot at, Professor Noel Ignatiev, a tenured professor at Massachusetts College, told white males to do the world a favor by killing themselves:
If you are a white male, you don’t deserve to live. You are a cancer, you’re a disease, white males have never contributed anything positive to the world! They only murder, exploit and oppress non-whites!
The Professor reported receiving “a standing ovation” from his “largely white and middle class students.”
Noel Ignatiev’s curious outburst is understandable if you know his background. Ignatiev has been part of a Gramsciist/communist movement, his entire life.
This is a movement that sees white male America as the absolute antithesis of all they hold to be good and true.
Formerly known as Noel Ignatin, Mr. Ignatiev has consistently focused on the idea that racism is the main tool used by capitalism to hold workers in check.
Noel Ignatin joined the Communist Party USA in Philadelphia in January of 1958 (he was seventeen) after about a year of working with Party people in youth activities.
Immediately after he joined the Party, there was a realignment of factional forces on the national level – a split.
The extreme left caucus in Philadelphia counted in its ranks virtually the entire South Philadelphia section (mainly white working class) and a number of people from the North Philadelphia (black) section, mostly those who had been part of the black caucus which had formed a few years earlier and maintained a precarious existence in a weakened party.
Ignatin’s far left faction was at odds with the majority grouping that believed in gradually changing America to socialism by using Blacks to push for social reform and to take over the Democratic Party.
Ignatin’s friends wanted to restore Stalin’s program, articulated by their comrade Harry Haywood, to set up a revolutionary Black led republic carved out of America’s Southern states.
The split led to a founding conference of the Provisional Organizing Committee to Reconstitute the Marxist-Leninist Communist Party, which adopted a Declaration stressing several key points: uncompromising defense of the Soviet Union and a rejection of the critical stance which the Party had begun to take toward the USSR at the time of the failed 1956 Hungarian counter-revolution; rejection of the line of peaceful transition to socialism and an affirmation of the proletarian revolution and proletarian dictatorship; and defense of the revolutionary right of self-determination of black people in the deep south as the cornerstone of policy on the black question.
Pure, uncompromising Stalinism.
Ignatin, drifted out of the Stalinist orbit, attended the University of Pennsylvania, then dropped out after three years. He worked in a Chicago steel mill and in factories that made farm equipment and electrical parts for two decades. At the steel mill, he helped organize strikes and protests by the predominantly black work force.
He was laid off from the steel mill in 1984, a year after he was arrested on charges of throwing a paint bomb at a strike-breaker’s car. He set up Marxist discussion groups in the early 1980s.
Ignatin was also active for a time in Students for a Democratic Society.
In 1968, the Chicago editorial group of The Movement – a newspaper affiliated with the Student Non-Violent Coordinating Committee and the Students for a Democratic Society, included Ignatin, radical gadfly Staughton Lynd and former Communist party leader and Alinsky acolyte Earl Durham, who later worked in Community Organizing and Family Issues in Chicago with Barack Obama.
Another member was Linda Rae Murray, who later worked with several other black Communist Party supporters on a magazine called African-American Agenda and who worked closely with Barack Obama’s personal friend and physician, long time Chicago Marxist, Quentin Young.
In 1985, the by now Mr. Ignatiev, was accepted to the Harvard Graduate School of Education without an undergraduate degree. After earning his Master’s, he joined the Harvard faculty as a lecturer and worked toward a Doctorate in U.S. History.
His dissertation became a book, “How the Irish Became White.” Mr. Ignatiev said the book told how Irish immigrants came to the United States and became “oppressors” by emulating American whites.
Given comrade Ignatiev’s background, his views are not surprising.
He only made explicit, what is implicit in much of today’s American left.

He’s urging his troops to not allow that to happen, by covering for Obamacare’s glaring flaws and talking racism.
He also understands the incredible power of the Tea Party – more I suspect, than they do themselves:
It is amazing how fast momentum can shift in politics. And it usually happens for reasons that could not have been predicted.
Case in point: only a month ago, the reckless shutdown of the federal government left its engineers — the tea party and the Republican Party — weakened, and the president and Democrats energized and with the wind at their back.
And beyond Washington, the people’s movement in the shutdown’s wake was energized too.
But this newly acquired momentum turned out to be far more momentary than most anticipated, myself included. In fact, it lasted only a few days. Why? Because Republicans seized the opportunity provided by the big problems with the rollout of the Affordable Health Care Act. They were all over it…
Literally, overnight the atmosphere changed for the worse. President Obama and Democrats, rather than riding a wave, found themselves on the defensive. And the Republicans’ shutdown disaster became a distant memory.
So stop grumbling comrades, and get back on the attack.
Now, if the health insurance exchanges are running smoothly by the end of the year, as they appear to be in many states, much of the furor will die out. But if they aren’t, Obamacare will be turned by the far right into a metaphor for “broken government” and the prospects of unseating Republicans in Congress and statehouses next fall will become problematic.
Which means that grumbling about the problems of the health care rollout heard in some progressive and left circles needs to give way to actively resisting the right wing’s campaign to kill Obamacare and regain the initiative leading into the midterm and 2016 elections.
Sam Webb, understands full well that the entire future direction of the country is at stake:
With all its shortcomings, Obamacare is a step in the right direction; it extends health care – a social right – to millions who up to now have none, and partially curbs the power of the health care industry, while its defeat would set back the struggle for health care for all much longer than I would care to think. That’s why the far right is fighting it so hard!
Thus, energizing, uniting, and raising the understanding of ever more people to oppose right-wing extremism in every arena of struggle – not least of which is defense of the Affordable Health Care Act – is the order of the day.
Of critical importance in this regard is the fight against racism in its material and ideological forms. Racism was the main vehicle used to bust up the New Deal coalition and fuel the ascendancy of the right wing over the past three or more decades. By the same token, the struggle against it is at the core of building a movement with the ideological, political, and organizational capacity and unity to dislodge the right and usher in an era of deep going progressive, even radical, change.
Sam Webb’s message is clear: Unity on the left, defend Obamacare at all costs and play the race card at every conceivable opportunity.
Sound familiar folks?
Ever wonder where Barack Obama gets his strategies from?

Gripping your pillow tight
Take my hand
We’re off to never-never land
Something’s wrong, shut the light

Dreams of dragon’s fire

Of dreams and nightmares, a dictator arises — enter Obama. As Obama arrived in San Francisco Monday, no one literally cared. Few showed and they practically had to give tickets away to his presidential fundraisers. Evidently, the false Messiah has fallen to earth, but after all, this is his realm, singed wings and all. Today’s must read is from Zombie at PJ Media: SF Protesters to Obama: Please be a Dictator! An excellent piece and as always, incredible photography.
Obama’s growing theme now of just get on with the revolution, ignore the Constitution and rule by executive diktat, is being screamed by people in his audiences. Funny thing though, they are astroturfed plants. Monday’s heckler at Obama’s pro-amnesty speech in San Francisco was Ju Hong, an approved guest of the White House and an illegal alien from South Korea who recently graduated from UC Berkeley. Ju Hong came to the US with his family on a tourist visa and never left. He has Marxist ties. Ju Hong also listed himself as an outreach coordinator at the Asian Pacific American Labor Alliance, as a legislative intern for San Francisco and as a senator at the Associated Students of the University of California. Marxists of a red feather…
So, let me get this straight. The one screaming for amnesty was a commie South Korean. Obama’s first fundraiser of the day in the City by the Bay, was at the Betty Ong Recreation Center, on the edge of San Francisco’s Chinatown. He’s now trying to appear that he is a man of the people and not just a wealthy, corrupt Marxist elitist. No… he is a Marxist for the down trodden as long as they are useful to him. But notice that he went to Chinatown. Now he has Chinese communists screaming for amnesty. Hmmm, I see a trend. Only about 40 showed for the blowhard, but you get the drift. Eventually this asshat will take full control because the people demanded it – er, well… a few Marxists any way.
Above, thanks to Zombie, you can see how the Marxists are demanding that Obama “use his executive power” and simply declare immigration laws into or out of existence, bypassing the Congress and the democratic process. Obama has been poking this badger for a while now. I think the Amnesty turkey is just about done and ready to be inflicted on America during the holidays. If Obama, by executive order or by any other means, passes Amnesty and ushers in millions and millions of illegals, we are toast as a Republic and he knows it. Here’s the faux heckling – prepare to cringe – he really does think we are this stupid:
Zombie makes it clear that this is staged propaganda of the most obvious sort:
Inside the event, the exact same thing happened — on stage! One of the human props standing behind the president during his speech suddenly started shouting at Obama to change immigration laws by imperial decree. Obama turned around and allowed the heckler to speak his mind, and then even let him remain on stage as Obama patiently explained that, as frustrating as it might be to activists, the president can’t simply wave a magic wand and make laws disappear. Needless to say, Obama was roundly praised for hearing the guy out, and for allowing him to stay, and then giving him a wise answer.
Was this simply a case of a human prop gone wild? Well, as was obvious to many viewers (watch the interchange in the video above and come to your own conclusions), the whole interaction was likely a scripted set-up: the heckler was a stand-in for all the activists to Obama’s left who are frustrated that Obama isn’t more “forceful” in exercising unconstitutional executive decrees; Obama’s response was not just to the one guy on stage but to all his frustrated allies on the far left. And of course it was all pre-arranged to make Obama look reasonable and heroic.
(The heckler, Ju Hong, claims that his outburst was spontaneous and unplanned; but considering that he was invited on-stage by the White House specifically because he was an Obama-supporting illegal immigrant, and considering how Obama not only let him go unpunished but then repeatedly used the outburst as a reference point in his scripted speech, Hong’s claims of “unrehearsed” are dubious.)
We’ll return to this first fundraiser in a moment, but let’s now jump ahead to the second fundraiser of the day, just an hour later at the new SF Jazz Center in the city’s Hayes Valley neighborhood.
This was a traditional fundraiser — no policy speeches, no human props, no press allowed. Just adoring devotees paying money to bask in his presence for a few minutes.
But here too, the same series of events unfolded exactly as they had at the first fundraiser: someone in the audience began heckling Obama to use “executive orders” to push the progressive agenda through — and once again Obama patiently explained to his most ardent fans that he just can’t do that, as much as they might want him to:
“Somebody keeps on yelling, ‘executive order,’” Obama said. “I’m going to actually pause on this issue because a lot of people have been saying this lately on every problem, which is just, ‘Sign an executive order and we can pretty much do anything and basically nullify Congress.’” When people started applauding, Obama said, “Wait, wait, wait. Before everybody starts clapping, that’s not how it works. We’ve got this Constitution, we’ve got this whole thing about separation of powers. So there is no short-cut to politics, and there’s no short-cut to democracy. We have to win on the merits of the argument with the American people, as laborious as it seems sometimes.”
Critics online immediately pounced on Obama’s claims of political impotence, pointing out that he has indeed repeatedly used executive orders to bypass the will of Congress, something he now says is unconstitutional.
Mark my words, Obama will use his executive authority to push this through if he can’t get Congress to bend to his will. He is a dictator. The astroturfed Marxists are calling for an Obama dictatorship and he is positioning himself to give them one.
