Forum: Does Anything Need To Be Done To Strengthen The Second Amendment Nationally?
Every week on Monday, the Council and our invited guests weigh in at the Watcher’s Forum with short takes on a major issue of the day, the culture or daily living. This week’s question: Does Anything Need To Be Done To Strengthen The Second Amendment Nationally?
The Daley Gator: A national CHL bill perhaps, at the least a national carry reciprocity act.
Laura Rambeau Lee, Right Reason: Let’s see – The Second Amendment states: “A well regulated militia being necessary to the security of a free State, the right of the People to keep and bear arms shall not be infringed.” Nope, that pretty much covers our absolute inherent right to protect ourselves, our families and our property, and if need be to fight against an out of control tyrannical federal government. The simplicity of the language in asserting the rights of We the People would only be diluted by additional legislative measures. We need to make sure we elect people who understand these rights and who will faithfully follow the law established by our Founders.
