It’s time once again for the Watcher’s Council’s ‘Weasel Of The Week’ nominations, where we pick our choices to compete for the award of the famed Golden Weasel to a public figure who particularly deserves to be slimed and mocked for his or her dastardly deeds during the week. Every Tuesday morning, tune in for the Weasel of the Week nominations!

Here are this weeks’ nominees…

Mitt Romney Falls Apart When Pressed On His Previous Support For Donald Trump
Failed GOP Candidate Mitt Romney!!

The Noisy Room: My nomination this week goes to Mitt Romney. Romney really stepped in it over Donald Trump. Sean Hannity came out and slammed him on being willing to maul someone in his own party, but wasn’t willing to go after Barack Obama. There are a couple of reasons for that. One, none of the weenies in the GOP dare to go after someone who is black. They are terrified of being called racist. Second, Romney is a Progressive just as Obama is. He’s not as much of one, but he quietly agrees with a number of stances of those on the left. Third, he views Donald Trump as a direct threat to the power structure of the GOP. So, hypocritically he goes out and attacks one of our own in a way he would never savage the left. It’s despicable.

While I am not a fan of Donald Trump’s currently, you just don’t do this. I also think this is a calculated move on Romney’s part and that is even worse. He asked people to vote for any candidate but Trump that they figured could win their state. That move was meant to fracture the party even further and to deliberately result in a brokered convention. He didn’t call for Cruz and Rubio to unite over Trump… he called for party divisiveness. This is exactly the type of thing that has resulted in the rise of Donald Trump. The manipulation, the corruption, the underhandedness, the dishonesty on both sides of the political aisle is epic. Trump is a Frankenstein of the GOP’s own making. Romney’s lambasting of him was disgraceful and showed the true face of Republican elitists. If we have a two-faced weasel, it should go to Romney.

Ted Cruz: #SocialIssuesMatter

By: Lloyd Marcus

Baby

Mary and I are still in a Louisiana hotel room on the road with our Conservative Campaign Committee team campaigning for Ted Cruz. Later today we will pile into an SUV and head to Mississippi. Crawfish are very popular here sold at Walmart and seemingly every restaurant. Louisianians have been very friendly and say “y’all” a lot.

Folks, while I am pleased that Cruz did well in Louisiana, I am still troubled by our side’s apparent lack of concern regarding the unspeakable evil activities of Planned Parenthood and other social issues.

Cruz promises to do everything Mr Trump has promised; secure our border, deport illegals and defend American interest domestically and internationally.

For all you folks concerned that your kids cannot find jobs, Cruz says illegal immigration is an economic issue. Cruz explains how 12 million illegals are taking jobs from Americans and keeping wages low. Touting that his dad began as a dishwasher, Cruz exposes the Chamber of Commerce, Democrats’ and Republicans’ lie that Americans won’t do those jobs. http://bit.ly/1XPOAM3

However, Cruz also promises to be uncompromising in defending our rights regarding crucial social issues.

The Investigations That Could Derail Hillary Clinton’s Nomination

By: Roger Aronoff | Accuracy in Media

The mainstream media are content with giving Mrs. Clinton a pass on her many scandals, downplaying or minimizing information that could potentially damage her campaign. At the same time, media organizations work to bolster her air of inevitability as the chosen candidate by repeatedly drawing attention to the size of her lead in terms of the number of delegates she and Senator Bernie Sanders (I-VT) each have.

After voting in 19 states, the latest delegate count shows Hillary Clinton with 1,130 delegates to 499 for Sanders. But those numbers could be misleading. Clinton has among her delegates 458 superdelegates, meaning elected officials and party officials who can vote for whomever they want, and who comprise about 30 percent of the total number of delegates needed to win the nomination. They have announced that they will vote for her, while just 22 superdelegates have declared support for Sanders. Superdelegates were established after the 1972 election in which Democratic candidate George McGovern won just one state, in order to give the party establishment a better chance to control the nominating process and avoid a repeat of that situation.

It is important to remember, however, that in December 2007 candidate Barack Obama had only 63 superdelegates to Mrs. Clinton’s 169. Yet in 2008 President Obama won the Democratic presidential primary with 463 superdelegates to Mrs. Clinton’s 257. Superdelegates are usually inclined to lend their vote to the candidate who is already winning.

Donald Trump IS the Establishment

While Donald J. Trump is inexplicably but widely known as the anti-establishment candidate, his previous alliances scream otherwise. In fact, Trump has acknowledged on several occasions – perhaps anticipating forthcoming criticism – that he “was establishment.”

“Hey, don’t forget… I was establishment six months ago… I was pure establishment.” Donald Trump on Fox & Friends, December 12, 2015

Watch at around the 9:23 minute mark:

“You know, the top people, senators, and all these people, a lot of them don’t know me. A lot of them do because, as you know, I’ve been in politics for a long time…I used to be establishment. You know, I’d write big checks all the time, right? I was establishment. When I did this [run for president], I was sort of very anti-establishment.” – Donald Trump on Sean Hannity, February 29

Unanswered Questions: Trump’s Ties to Soros, Organized Crime and the Chinese

By: Terresa Monroe-Hamilton

Mob2

There are a number of things about Donald Trump that I find beyond troubling. The tipping point for me was when Trump started claiming he was ‘flexible’, just like Obama was with Vladimir Putin. But that is not the only thing that has given me pause during this nomination process. I have a lot of unanswered questions.

According to the Chicago Tribune, George Soros bailed out Trump Tower in Chicago in 2004. In fact, in 2009, Trump spent Christmas Eve with the old spider. Conservatives railed against Barack Obama for his ties to George Soros as they should have… but where is the same circumspection when it comes to Donald Trump? He’s a nationalist and a populist and his followers seem utterly deaf, dumb and blind to his history and connections.

From Conservative Review:

Donald Trump has lined up three New York hedge funds, including money from billionaire George Soros, to invest $160 million in his Chicago skyscraper, a key piece in perhaps the largest construction financing in the city’s history, according to real estate sources and public documents.

“Ted Cruz is a Globalist!!!” – yeah and I’m the tooth fairy

By: Trevor Loudon | New Zeal

Ted CruzOccasionally I get criticism for my support of Senator Ted Cruz. Why would you back Cruz they say… he’s a “globalist”… he wants to destroy US sovereignty.

There are legitimate grounds to criticize the Senator from Texas (none of us are perfect), but “globalism” is not one of them.

Here is then plain old Mr. Cruz from 2012 explaining the perils of Agenda 21 and detailing some of his battles to protect US sovereignty.

Here he is again calling out the the true “globalists” of the Council on Foreign Relations for what they are… a pit of vipers. Yes, I know that Heidi Cruz was a member for a time… but then so have been many patriotic Americans such as late Washington Times editor Arnaud de Borchgrave. The CFR is certainly an insidious organization at heart, but most members are good folks who join to meet influential people, out of curiosity, vanity, to learn about policy, or to advance their careers. I’m more concerned that Heidi Cruz is reportedly a VEGETARIAN, than the fact she was once a CFR member.

During her tenure with the CFR, Heidi Cruz has been criticized for her work on CFR projects promoting the anti-sovereignty North American Union. Heidi Cruz’s contribution to this project consisted of advocating for free markets.

There is no doubt what Ted Cruz thinks of the CFR and I’m betting that Heidi Cruz’s current views aren’t much different.

Name me one other serving Senator, with the exception of Alabama’s heroic Jeff Sessions, who has done as much to protect US sovereignty as Ted Cruz.
