Amy Vilela is a member of the Las Vegas branch of the Democratic Socialists of America

Amy Vilela is running as a Democrat in Nevada’s primary tomorrow. But don’t be fooled, Nevada. Amy Vilela is a Marxist. Vilela is a member of the Las Vegas branch of America’s largest Marxist organization, the Democratic Socialists of America (DSA). Her campaign manager, Keenan Korth, is the founder of the Las Vegas DSA.

The DSA consists of over 37,000 dues-paying members. Their platform, agreed upon at their national convention, includes the complete abolition of prisons and complete elimination of police forces. According to their website, the Las Vegas DSA “is dedicated to fighting for a socialist society wherein the means and resources of production are democratically controlled.”

Here is their statement:

“Las Vegas DSA is dedicated to fighting for a socialist society wherein the means and resources of production are democratically controlled. We envision a social order based upon economic planning, equitable distribution and non-oppressive relationships. We no longer uphold the gross inequalities perpetuated by a white supremacist, capitalist, sexist, cis-heteronormative, and ableist society. In rejecting this violent political-economic system, we are committed to the self-determination of all individuals by any means necessary.”

Las Vegas DSA member Amy Vilela has raised over $140,000.00. She has received support from DSA-Front Group “Our Revolution,” the Progressive Congressional Change Committee, the DSA-controlled National Nurses United, and the Bricklayers and Allied Craftworkers (BAC).

Amy has two Twitter accounts. Her campaign account is unsurprisingly verified by Twitter, and her older account is where you see her true colors:

This author would like to address Amy’s description of socialism as “Schools, fire depts., police” etc. The Constitution left all of those services up to the states, not the federal government. A local fire department is paid with local taxes. The Founding fFathers were quite brilliant. They did not believe that someone from Kansas, for example, should pay for something in Idaho. Read more about it here.

Amy Vilela leaves her DSA membership off her campaign website.

No, Amy is not a “Democrat.”

Don’t fall for it, Nevada!
