“Iran says mosque bombers also planned Russian consulate attack”: Sure!
comment by Jerry Gordon
Looks like the Mosque Blast in Shiraz, last month that killed 14 and wounded 200, wasn’t an ‘industrial accident’, as originally reported by the Iranian press. Could it be the work of dissidents backed by US, Israeli or British covert operatives? As Iran [...]

I guess we got out just in time.
Running in packs?
Well, whatever I carry, there will be a minimum of two reloads. Maybe three.
I’m just gearing up to carry the PT911 (15+1×9mm).
Maybe I should carry two.
Maybe a nice 1911 for a BUG. Something stylish. Rock Island, maybe.
Happily, I don’t visit Vegas much.

Portmanteau is an interesting word.
I’ve become familiar with a number of meanings and usages.
Originally, the word came from Middle French “porter” (to carry) and “manteau” (a coat or cover), and formerly referred to a large travelling bag or suitcase with two compartments. Kind of a “carry-all” luggage piece.
Lewis Carroll coined a more contemporary application [...]

In the contining debate about (euphemistically) “immigration,” let us not forget: this isn’t about real estate.
Those who want to sneak into the U.S.A. aren’t here for the land. There’s plenty of land in the places from which they come.
It isn’t the mountains or the trees or the lakes or the rivers.
They come here [...]

The recent cyber-tiff, wherein one “Senator” Nolan demonstrates the proper political technique for alienating one’s constituency, gives some insight into what it means to arrogate authority.
The metaphor, used early on by one of the “irrelevant” bloggers, of a “political pyramid” of power seems quite apt in this evolving context.
