Philip Haney’s Paul Revere Ride To Warn Michigan Voters About Abdulrahman Mohamed El-Sayed

The United West

Source: Conservative HQ, July 23, 2018

Our friend Philip Haney, retired DHS terrorist investigator, is on a mission to help the voters of Michigan understand Political Islam and its potential impact on the outcome of the August 7th Michigan Primary election.

Why Michigan?

Because Michigan’s history has produced the perfect storm where an extreme Leftist Democrat, who is also a Sharia-compliant Muslim, could become the next Governor of the Wolverine State. His name is Abdulrahman Mohamed El-Sayed and he can win and accelerate the Balkanization of America.

Philip Haney says his oath “to preserve and protect America from all enemies foreign and domestic” is still on active duty. Haney’s goal is to wake up sleeping citizens so they come to understand the enemies within, so that they exercise their right to vote to preserve our sovereignty.

Haney has been in Michigan since the beginning of June and will remain in the state through the August 7thPrimary. He has participated in national webinars showcasing the only candidate for Governor brave enough to stand against Sharia – the Islamic Law that is complied with every day in Michigan by thousands of Muslim residents who have immigrated and produced 2nd and 3rd generations of mosque-attending Sharia-compliant residents. That candidate, says Haney, is Republican Patrick Colbeck.

Why is Abdulrahman Mohamed El Sayed such a threat to constitutional liberty?

As Michigan’s star conservative commentator Jen Kuznicki documented, El Sayed was born in 1984 in Detroit to parents who immigrated from Egypt to America in the 1970’s.

PBS, The Un-American Classroom

By: Tabitha Korol

Soon after the horrific bombing of the World Trade Center, I happened upon a television production of the history of Islam presented by PBS, an American public broadcaster and television program distributor, self-declared as “America’s largest classroom.”  This trusted provider of television programming reaches 350 member-television stations, educational institutions, non-profit groups tied to public schools, college educational institutions, and state-government-owned or -related entities.  The narrator of the History of Islam, Imam Faisal Abdul Rauf, was already recognized for his outrageous proposal to establish a triumphal rabat-style mosque on Ground Zero. He’d hoped to name it Córdoba to echo Islam’s conquest of Spain in 711 AD.

Rauf presented the spread of Islam as the color of butter spread across the pastel map, as though untold thousands had not been enslaved or slaughtered by the ferocious and determined warlord, Mohammed.  Conquest was achieved by the merciless decapitation of 800 Jewish men, the rape and sexual enslavement of their women and children, the pillaging of the metalworks and crafts of the town’s Jews, Christians, and pagans who had been living in harmony. PBS was permitting itself to be used to promote a false narrative that concealed the true purpose of Islam and its continued bloody methods of conquest.

Christian Action Network, in 2017, revealed the introduction of the Islamic indoctrination program, “Access Islam,” by the U.S. Department of Education to public schools, when no similar material for Christianity, Judaism, or Hinduism exists.  PBS provides “the largest classroom” for teaching these “educational” resources to schools and libraries, replacing the term “Religion of Peace” with “Empire of Faith.”  Americans for Peace and Tolerance has investigated and reported the world studies and history books in use today, and confirms that they embrace radical social activism, ideological indoctrination, and coerced conformity.  The textbooks and PBS’s films are replete with erroneous information, demonize Israel and America while glorifying Islam, and encourage fealty to Islam and identification with radical jihadists.  This is brazen-faced stealth jihad against our own country done without fear of negative consequence.

The social studies lesson plan for grades 5 – 12 begins with the Five Pillars of Islam, enhanced by the BBC’s supplemental visual material for easy memorization and scrupulous study.  This is total immersion into Islamic vocabulary with intense thought and discussion, acting out and reciting prayer, learning and performing customs along with changes of dress, and comparing superficial information of Judaism and Christianity with the favored Islam.  In addition to the books, papers, computer, and visual aids, students “fulfill their duty” with “impromptu” visits into the Islamic community, without parental consent.  Thus, they learn to feel like a Muslim (assuming the false victimization), view the world from a Muslim perspective (that all the world is Muslim and must be retrieved), think like a Muslim (lay blame elsewhere and justify abuse on women and the west), and to BE a Muslim (be a jihadi warrior).

Must Read: How (And Why) Putin Instigated the European Refugee Crisis

By: Trevor Loudon | New Zeal

A major geopolitical secret has finally been exposed.

The Ukrainian MP, Anton Gerashchenko, speaking on TV Channel News One, stated:

The crisis of migrants in Europe arose because of Putin. The war in Syria began in 2011, but migrants flooded [Europe] like a large river in the spring of 2015. Russia made a decision after Europe imposed economic sanctions on Russia: ‘Let’s create problems for them.” They created a problem: $1,000 was allocated for the head of [each] refugee who will be taken from Syria to Europe. A million refugees are a billion dollars. This is nothing to Putin…

The Center for Security Policy has just released “Russian Strategy and Europe’s Refugee Crisis” by Romanian academic Dr. Anca-Maria Cernea and US geopolitical analyst Jeff Nyquist.

Nyquist and Cernea meticulously lay out a compelling case for what some of us have long suspected: Moscow has deliberately flooded Europe with Muslim refugees. To Putin, Muslim refugees are a cheap, effective and deniable weapon against the West. The refugee invasion of Europe is no accident of history. It is a form of long term asymmetrical warfare, cooked up in the Kremlin.

Muslim activist’s ‘big stick’ approach turns Michigan politicians, media to willing servants of Islam

By: Leo Hohmann

Dawud Walid is an Islamic imam and executive director of CAIR-Michigan. Photo /screenshot

One call to suburban mayor results in removal of volunteer deemed too ‘Islamophobic’ to serve her city.

When Muslim activist Dawud Walid speaks, Michigan’s political leaders do not ask many questions.

Almost reflexively, they jump to fulfill his demands.

The last thing they seem to want is to get into a public debate with the leader of the state’s powerful chapter of the Council on American-Islamic Relations, which claims to speak for all Michigan Muslims.

In a fresh example of just how big of a stick Walid carries as executive director of CAIR-Michigan, he was able to get a low-level mayoral appointee removed from office last week in the city of Warren, a suburb of Detroit. The woman had committed the unpardonable sin of criticizing Islam on her private Facebook page. Though she publicly apologized and expressed deep remorse for “offending” Muslims, that wasn’t enough. She still had to resign in disgrace.

Diane Kozlowski was forced to resign her seat on a volunteer advisory board in the city of Warren because of a post on her private Facebook page.

Diane Deliso Kozlowski, 71, was appointed by the mayor in 2015 to a seven-year term on the six-member Warren Elected Officials Compensation Commission, which is a voluntary, unpaid position that advises the mayor and council on salaries to be paid to city officials. She posted on Facebook that “Islam is hate” in reaction to someone else’s post about the 9/11 terrorist attacks, according to a report in the local newspaper, The Macomb Daily.

Someone alerted CAIR about the post, and CAIR placed Kozlowski’s entire Facebook account under its version of extreme vetting, looking for not only the reported offensive comment but others which might be deemed unfriendly to Muslims or Islam. By the time the smoke had cleared, CAIR had declared Kozlowski an Islamophobe, contacted Warren Mayor James Fouts and demanded that he cleanse city hall of her presence.

Within hours of Walid approaching the mayor and council with his demand, Kozlowski resigned and issued a detailed statement of apology, as follows:

“I apologize for offending anyone, including Muslims, my post was referring to terrorists, NOT Muslims. I understand that terrorists come from all backgrounds and all religions and for me to refer to Muslims was wrong. I apologize to Muslims who are as much against terrorism as are other religions in the United States. I was wrong and as a result I am resigning.”

She is now said to be terrified of a violent reprisal from the Muslim community and will not return calls on the issue of her Facebook comments.

The local newspaper, the Macomb Daily, cheered Kozlowski’s resignation in a May 24 article in which Walid was given space for a lengthy lecture about what is permitted and what is not permitted in terms of free speech in Macomb County.

The newspaper all but admitted that Walid threatened the city with protests if it did not bow to his demand that Kozlowski be removed from her position. The paper reported:

“Had Deliso Kozlowski not resigned, the organization [CAIR] was prepared to further its demand in a public manner on city government property.”

In the city of Warren, citizens apparently check their First Amendment rights at the door when they accept any city position, even if it’s only on a volunteer basis.

Why must they be subjected to such close scrutiny? Because Walid says so.

“The important thing is she is no longer in her position,” Walid told the Macomb Daily. “We’re glad that the results were swift and we did not have to go on June 12 to the next City Council meeting to raise our concerns.”

“We believe that all Americans in general have a right to freedom of speech and can say hateful things,” Walid continued. “The problem becomes, when someone in an official capacity of a government in which they are involved in the allocation of taxpayer dollars. That’s where it becomes problematic.

“The Muslin community is a fast-growing segment in the city of Warren. We don’t think it’s proper a city official can go around making hateful comments about any group of people that they’re supposed to be working on behalf of residents and constituents.”

Walid is not being completely truthful when he says hateful comments are to be tolerated outside of government office-holders. The truth is, CAIR has been on a nationwide crusade, some call it a witch hunt, since the election of President Donald Trump to identify and weed out so-called “Islamophobes” from not just public office but all aspects of public life. That is why Roseann Barr had her sitcom canceled by ABC last week, not because she made a racist comment against blacks but because her comment included a mocking of the Muslim Brotherhood.

Islamic sensitivity training for city officials

Warren Mayor James Fouts

While Kozlowski has been an outspoken advocate for Mayor Fouts in the past, applauding him for his accomplishments in the city of Warren, Fouts did not lift a finger to defend her against the attacks from CAIR. He immediately caved to Walid’s demands.

In fact, Fouts and the City Council went a step further. He told the Detroit News that the city’s “diversity coordinator” contacted the Islamic Society of North America in Warren and plans to start sensitivity training for all commissioners.

“It’s an unfortunate situation, but in the future we want to make sure everybody has proper training and is aware of sensitivity and the importance of diversity, and everything that goes with it,” the News quoted Fouts as saying.

Macomb County resident Tom Mitchell told LeoHohmann.com it is astonishing the amount of power Walid and CAIR wield in Michigan.

“It seems to me they have a complete hold over Warren and Sterling Heights and Macomb County,” he said.

Mitchell said Muslim migrants are expanding their presence in metro Detroit’s suburbs, coming up from Dearborn and Hamtramck. The city of Dearborn is 46 percent Arab and Hamtramck became the first American city to have a Muslim-majority city council in 2016.

They have now penetrated Sterling Heights, which approved a controversial mega-mosque last year over the protests of the vast majority of its citizens.

“That’s the corridor they’re coming up from,” Mitchell said. “It’s unnerving to see all this happening and how fearful the politicians are of Mr. Walid and the voting bloc he represents.”

This is the same Dawud Walid that told C-SPAN a couple of years ago that the most dangerous terrorists in America are not Islamic jihadists but “white men.”

SEE VIDEO of Walid telling C-SPAN on Nov. 22, 2015 that “the number-one perpetrators of terrorism here in the United States of America are not Muslims; they actually are white men.”

In that same interview with C-SPAN Walid rejected the notion that immigrants should try to assimilate into American society.

“I really think it speaks to to the greater fear that a lot of Americans have that there are changing demographics in America and within the next few decades America is going to become a majority-minority nation, meaning there will be more people of color in America than white Americans, and I think this really scares the mess out of people, so they say we shouldn’t speak Arabic or need to change our dress. I think it all comes from a Euro-centric, white-privilege mentality and I do not accept this at all.”

During the same week that Kozlowski was forced to resign for criticizing Islam on Facebook, anti-Sharia activists with Secure Michigan were hosting a visit to Michigan from British activist/journalist Katie Hopkins.

Hopkins sees direct parallels to what is happening in Michigan to the advancing Sharia in her country, where a majority of the cities around London now have Muslim mayors and the media is forbidden from covering the trials of Muslim rape gangs.

“She saw a lot here in Michigan,” Mitchell said.

WATCH Katie Hopkins video below explaining the “template” used for the Islamization of British cities and how a similar model appears to be playing out in Michigan. It starts with immigration and eventually leads to the election of Muslim politicians.

Michigan is in the middle of its primary season in which the nation’s first Muslim candidate for governor, Dr. Abdul al-Sayed, is on the Democrat ballot.

Michigan is also the scene of the nation’s first federal trial of a doctor accused of practicing female genital mutilation.

“We are experiencing creeping Sharia starting in the governor’s contest, the local contest, city contests, most people who live here don’t even know how deeply ingrained the Islamic presence is and how much sway they hold over our politicians,” Mitchell said. “If they don’t know they can’t do anything about it. I live in Sterling Heights and they know I don’t have any fear. I’m here to stay and fight this.”

Mitchell, a U.S. military veteran, said he has absolutely no doubt that if a member of a city board had posted to Facebook that “Christianity is hate,” the remark would have managed to avoid even a snippet of attention from CAIR, the mayor, city council, or local newspaper.

“Absolutely not. I have not a sliver of doubt in my mind,” Mitchell said.

Indeed, one could argue that Michigan gubernatorial candidate Dr. Abdul al-Sayed set the tone for Kozlowski’s post, “Islam is hate.” Sayed said at a debate just a few weeks ago that Muslims “definitely hate” his GOP counterpart, state Sen. Patrick Colbeck.

Colbeck is the only candidate, Republican or Democrat, in the Michigan gubernatorial primary race that has spoken out about the consequences of Islamic non-assimilation in Michigan and the role of CAIR and other Muslim Brotherhood offshoots in fostering an attitude of isolation and civilizational jihad. [See Secure Michigan’s questionnaire showing candidates views on Sharia]

Sayed’s expression of Muslim hatred for Colbeck, and ostensibly for every Michigan citizen who supports Colbeck for governor, was virtually ignored by the Detroit media and he suffered no consequences. [Imagine the media uproar of it had been the other way around and the Republican Colbeck had told Dr. Abdul that “Christians definitely hate you!”]

So, what is acceptable speech for a Muslim gubernatorial candidate in Michigan is not acceptable for a Republican candidate. Nor is it acceptable for a non-Muslim woman who sits on a low-level government panel to speak critically of the Islamic religion.

This is a state where it is proven once again that there are two very different standards for what is acceptable speech, one for Republicans and another for liberal Democrats and Muslims.

And what’s worse is that CAIR and Walid, complete with their dubious reputations, have successfully established themselves as the arbiter of what is acceptable public speech in Michigan.

According to the FBI’s own documented evidence, CAIR is the U.S. affiliate of Hamas, which the U.S. State Department lists as a designated foreign terrorist organization. CAIR was one of several unindicted co-conspirators in the 2008 federal case, U.S. vs. Holy Land Foundation, that sent five Muslim Brotherhood operatives to prison for illegally funneling money to Hamas.

Yet, the Macomb Daily closes its article about Kozlowski’s resignation by singing CAIR’s praises, taking verbiage directly from a CAIR press release that states:

“CAIR-MI is a nonprofit civil rights and advocacy group. It is affiliated with the Washington, D.C.-based Council on American-Islamic Relations, the largest Islamic civil liberties group in the United States. The organization’s mission is “to enhance the understanding of Islam, encourage dialogue, protect civil liberties, empower American Muslims and build coalitions that promote justice and mutual understanding through education, mediation, media and the law.”

Katie Hopkins – Dear Michigan. Please Look to London. We are Your Future. And It is Not Pretty! – Register ASAP for Free Webinar May 19th

Dear Michigan:

Are the nine million residents of Michigan on the same road to Sharia-dominance as the nine million residents of London? Will Michigan set the trend for America?

If you import enough people who will vote for you, you can become Mayor. That’s the lesson the U.K. has learned from its Muslim Mayor Sadiq Khan, who has lost control of crime in the capital, but is still able to find the time to ban ads featuring women in bikinis on the subway, and yet approve ads for Allah and Ramadan on our London buses.

In our capital, 4 people have been shot in the last 24 hours, the youngest of whom was just 13.

And it looks as if Michigan voters could be sleepwalking into the same future for themselves. Michigan could be the first state to elect a Sharia-compliant Muslim Governor. Indeed, Abdul El-Sayed would be the United States’ first. But I can tell you from experience, he is the way-finder, and he will be followed by legion more.

Do not become the U.K. Do not fall as we have fallen.

Genocide of White Farmers in S. Africa

By: Denise Simon | Founders Code

A White Farmer Is Killed Every Five Days in South Africa and Authorities Do Nothing about It, Activists Say

Activists say South African authorities are tacitly approving attacks on the country’s white farmers, with one being murdered every five days, and the police turning a blind eye to the violence.

The white nationalist lobbying group AfriForum says that when lawmakers passed a motion last month which could see land being seized from farmers without compensation, it sent a message that landowners could be attacked with impunity.

It said there have been 109 recorded attacks so far in 2018 and 15 farm murders, meaning that this year, one white farmer has been killed every five days.

In a statement, Ian Cameron, AfriForum’s Head of Safety said: “Our rural areas are trapped in a crime war. Although the South African government denies that a violence crisis is staring rural areas in the face, the numbers prove that excessive violence plague these areas.”

Gabriel Stols, 35, told the Independent how his younger brother Kyle, 21, was shot dead by four people on a game reserve near Bloemfontein.

“What is happening to us is torture, it is slaughter, it is brutal, it is revenge. The world doesn’t know what is happening in South Africa,” he said.

Hannetjie Ludik, 56, from Pretoria, told the paper that three armed men broke into her family’s house, stole money and raped her.

South Africa’s president Cyril Ramaphosa said the government did not condone attacks or the the seizure of white-owned farms and insisted there would be no repeat of what happened in Zimbabwe a generation ago.

But AfriForum says that the parliament’s bill has led to a culture of revenge among those spoiling for a redistribution of land in a country where some 80% of people describe themselves as black African, but only 1.2% of that community own the country’s rural land.

Julius Malema, the head of South Africa’s ultra-left Economic Freedom Fighters party (EFF), has called for land to be taken off white farmers. REUTERS/Siphiwe Sibeko

The policy was proposed by the leader of the Economic Freedom Fighters (EFF), Julius Malema who says redistributing land can correct historical injustices.

While there is broader political support for the move, a more measured approach is being called for by Kenneth Meshoe, the head of the African Christian Democratic Party, who told The Independent he believes in land distribution, although he says it should not be taken without compensation

“People like Malema who are promoting hate speech should not be allowed,” he added.

Thousands of people have signed a petition asking Donald Trump to let white people in South Africa to migrate to the U.S.

Meanwhile, Australian Home Affairs Minister, Peter Dutton, said he would push for his country to grant visas to white farmers, should they be displaced.

He provocatively said that such people could be helped from “a civilized country like ours”, sparking anger from South Africa’s Foreign Ministry which called for a retraction.

The fact-checking website, Africa Check, concluded in May 2017 that getting an accurate statistic on the country’s farm murder rate, which it estimated at 0.4 murders per 100,000 people, was “near impossible”.

Gareth Newham from South Africa’s Institute for Security Studies, told the Guardian there was no evidence white farmers were targeted any more than anyone else.

*** The world is silent on this….question is why?

In 2017:

The couple, who had lived in the area for 20 years, were tied up, stabbed, and tortured with a blowtorch for several hours. The masked men stuffed a plastic bag down Mrs Howarth’s throat, and attempted to strangle her husband with a bag around his neck.

The couple were bundled into their own truck, still in their pyjamas, and driven to a roadside where they were shot. Mrs Howarth, 64, a former pharmaceutical company executive, was shot twice in the head. Mr Lynn, 66, was shot in the neck.

Miraculously he survived, and managed to flag down a passer-by early on Sunday morning. Mrs Howarth, who police said was “unrecognisable” from her injuries, had multiple skull fractures, gunshot wounds and “horrific” burns to her breasts.

“Sue was discovered amongst some trees, lying in a ditch,” writes Jana Boshoff, reporter for the local Middelburg Observer newspaper. “Her rescuers managed to find her by following her groans of pain and then noticing drag marks from the road into the field.

In any other country, such a crime would be almost unthinkable. But in South Africa, these kinds of farm attacks are happening nearly every day. This year so far, there have been more than 70 attacks and around 25 murders in similar attacks on white farmers.

Earlier this month, for example, 64-year-old Nicci Simpson was tortured with a power drill during an attack involving three men at her home on a farm in the Vaal area, about two hours drive from Johannesburg.

When paramedics arrived, they found three dead dogs, and the woman lying in a pool of blood, spokesman Russel Meiring told News24. “They used a drill to torture her,” police spokesman Lungelo Dlamini said.

4 Days of Food Left…Panic? National Grid Hacked

By: Denise Simon | Founders Code

If there is no transportation, there is no food, medicine or basic supplies….what country is ready to deal with this?

British cities would be uninhabitable within days and the country is only a few meals from anarchy if the National Grid was taken down in a cyber attack or solar storm, disaster and security experts have warned.

Modern life is so reliant on electricity that a prolonged blackout would quickly lead to a loss of water, fuel, banking, transport and communications that would leave the country “in the Stone Age.”

The warning comes weeks after the Defence Secretary, Gavin Williamson, said Russia had been spying on the UK’s energy infrastructure and could cause “thousands and thousands and thousands” of deaths if it crippled the power supply.

***

The U.S. government has just released an important cybersecurity alert that confirms Russian government cyberattacks targeting energy and other critical infrastructure sectors in the United States.

While there has recently been a significant rise in cyberattacks in these industries, up to now we’ve only been able to speculate on who the actors are, or what their motives may be. In this case the threat actor and their strategic intent has been clearly confirmed, something the U.S. government rarely does publicly.

In addition, the US-CERT alert provides descriptions of each stage of the attack, detailed indicators of compromise (IOCs), and a long list of detection and prevention measures. Many of the attack tactics are like Dragonfly 2.0, so much so that one might call this an expanded playbook for Dragonfly. The Nozomi Networks solution ships today with an analysis toolkit that identifies the presence of Dragonfly 2.0 IOCs.

This article is intended to help you gain perspective on this recent alert, provide additional guidance on what security measures to take, and describe how the Nozomi Networks solution can help.

U.S. energy facilities, like this one, are one of the critical infrastructure targets of the Russian cyberattacks.

Multi-Stage Campaigns Provide Opportunities for Early Detection

The US-CERT alert characterizes this attack as a multi-stage cyber intrusion campaign where Russian cyber actors conducted spear phishing and gained remote access into targeted industrial networks. After obtaining access, the threat vectors conducted network reconnaissance, moved laterally, and collected information pertaining to Industrial Control Systems (ICS).

This pattern of behavior is typical of APTs (Advanced Persistent Threats). APTs occur over an extended period, meaning there is an opportunity to detect and stop them before damage is done. With the right technology monitoring the industrial network, it is much harder for them to go unobserved before their final attack.

In this case the Russian cyberattacks started by infecting staging targets, which are peripheral organizations, such as trusted third-party suppliers, as pivot points for attacking the final intended targets.

The attackers used a multitude of tactics involving information relevant to industrial control professionals for initial infection of the staging targets. Examples include:

  • Altering trade publication websites
  • Sending emails containing resumes for ICS personnel as infected Microsoft Word attachments
  • Analyzing publicly available photos that inadvertently contained information about industrial systems

The credentials of staging targets’ staff were in turn used to send spear phishing emails to the staff of the intended targets. They received malicious .docx files, which communicated with a command and control (C2) server to steal their credentials.

The SMB (Server Message Block) network protocol was used throughout the spear phishing phases to communicate with external servers, as was described for the Dragonfly 2.0 attacks. This is a distinctive tactic. SMB is usually only used to communicate within LANs, not for outbound communications. Now that this is known, asset owners should ensure their firewalls are locked down for outbound service restrictions.

The credentials of the intended targets were used to access victim’s networks. From there, the malware established multiple local administrator accounts, each with a specific purpose. The goals ranged from creation of additional accounts to cleanup activity. For the report, click here.

***
What Is Known

Forensic analysis shows that the threat actors sought information on network and organizational design and control system capabilities within the organization. In one instance, the report says, the threat actors downloaded a small photo from a publicly accessible human resource page, which, when expanded, was a high-resolution photo that displayed control systems equipment models and status information in the background. The threat actors also compromised third-party suppliers to download source code for several intended targets’ websites. They also attempted to remotely access corporate web-based email and virtual private network (VPN) connections.

Once inside the intended target’s network, the threat actors used privileged credentials to access domain controllers via remote desktop protocols (RDP) and then used the batch scripts to enumerate hosts and users, as well as to capture screenshots of systems across the network.

Along with publishing an extensive list of indicators of compromise, the DHS and FBI recommended that network administrators review IP addresses, domain names, file hashes, network signatures, and a consolidated set of YARA rules for malware associated with the intrusion authored by the National Cybersecurity and Communications Integration Center. YARA is an open-source and multiplatform tool that provides a mechanism to exploit code similarities between malware samples within a family.

10 Mistakes that Can Ruin Your Bug out Plans and How to Avoid Them

By: Conrad Novak | Survivor’s Fortress

When making a bug out plan, everyone likes to focus on the bug out bag–and it is not difficult to see why. The bug out bag is fairly easy to get right if you put time and resources into it. Moreover, once you have finished organizing the perfect bug out bag, you have a real, tangible thing that you can look to for comfort and security.

However, all too often people get so wrapped up in focusing on their bug out bag that they overlook all of the many other parts of a successful bug out plan. This oversight can turn deadly if things do not go as expected. That is why we have provided a list of 10 mistakes you need to avoid when making a bug out plan.

  1. Of Mice and Men – One or No Plans

Much like cleaning out the garage, a number of well-intentioned people think they will get around to developing a bug out plan eventually. Of course, disaster often strikes with little or no warning. Moreover, by the time you do have a warning, everyone else is also thinking the same thing you are.

In this situation, you will be competing with frightened, potentially frenzied, masses for quickly diminishing resources. Then, once you grab whatever you can, you still have to get all packed and figure a way to leave wherever you are. In short, it is a recipe for disaster, and you are the main ingredient.

Still, you can have a plan that will ultimately fail, especially if you only have one. The specific response required for a natural disaster should likely differ in a number of important ways than a man-made disaster. For instance, in the event of nuclear attack, you should actually stay indoors for 48 hours to allow the most dangerous radiation to dissipate.

Other ways your plan may be lacking might otherwise not be related to the disaster at all. For example, a flash flood that occurs during the summer demands a different response and gear than a flash flood that occurs during autumn when the waters and temperature may be just above freezing.

  1. Packing Procrastination – Not Already Being Packed

Making a bug out plan can be a lot like cleaning the garage if you let it: something that you will get to eventually but are constantly putting off for another day. Of course, should that day come, having your bug out plan ready and waiting may be the only thing that saves your life. In this case, too late may end up being too little.

That is why you need to have your bug out bag already packed and waiting either at the central rally point or near the exits. In this instance, you can quickly organize your party, grab your gear, and head out the door. The alternative ultimately means that you spend precious minutes doing something that should have already been done.

Something to keep in mind, your bug out bag may not be the only one you need to pack. If your party includes children, chances are that they are less than diligent with their preparations. As such, it is incumbent upon you to regularly check everyone’s bug out bag to ensure that it is packed and ready to go at a moment’s notice.

  1. The Weight of the World – Bag Too Heavy

When prepping, one of the most important factors is the bug out bag. The overwhelming majority of information about prepping will generally be centered around this aspect of the process. However, placing too much of a focus on the bug out bag can carry its own issues that extend well-beyond simple myopia.

Even experienced preppers who have developed numerous plans, each agile enough to include healthy improvisation, can still fall victim to the oversight of being “too prepared.” Granted, there is no such thing as being too prepared, but there is definitely the possibility that you can inhibit your ability to bug out by trying to be prepared for everything all at once.

If you have a single pack designed to meet all challenges, chances are you have items in that pack that will not get used. Cold weather gear will not be of much use in the Summer. This additional weight will slow you down and sap your energy. Instead, it is better to have different packs for specific situations–even if you have to regularly rotate the gear you pack.

  1. Gas, Grass, or Highway – Relying on a Vehicle

This is a mistake you can make in a number of different ways, though all of them can be costly. Arguably the biggest issue with a vehicle is the likelihood that you may have to abandon it and not being prepared for that circumstance. Things happen quickly during a disaster, and your vehicle may not be the best mode of transportation.

For instance, if you live in a densely populated area, there is a good chance that the roads out of town will be far too congested with other people trying to flee to be useful. However, even if you do make it out of the urban areas, there is no guarantee that the rest of the region–and most importantly its roads–will be in any condition to allow safe passage.

Another major mistake concerning a vehicle is not having it gassed up and ready to go. Aside from the probable traffic jam that will inevitably develop, gas stations will likely be overloaded with unprepared people as well. Making sure that your bug out vehicle is already fueled and that you have additional fuel reserves is vital.

Finally, having the wrong bug out vehicle in the first place can be costly. A front engine, rear-wheel drive car might be fun and convenient in the city, but it cannot handle the needs of an off-road trip. Also, make sure your vehicle does not stand out or alert others to your presence.

  1. No Way Out – No Alternate Routes

Regardless of how you plan to reach your bug out shelter, there is simply no guarantee that you preferred route will be available. This consideration makes relying on a vehicle that much more risky. However, it can also be a major factor even if you plan to hike it the entire way. Granted, heading out on foot can actually be more effective, but that does not mean it is without forethought.

For instance, major road networks are liable to be packed with frantic people all trying to escape–even if a large number of the population simply attempts to bear down and bug in. Of course, most of those people will be doing it for lack of better options, but the point remains that the most common and well-maintained routes are liable to be crowded.

Still, other routes which are less likely to see traffic will also probably have their own issues. For instance, rural or farm roads may not have panicked peoples, but they are also liable to be in less sound conditions. This can make traversing them just as dangerous. Ultimately, the more routes you have to bug out, the better–each with a specified set of parameters defining when they are to be used.

  1. Not Enough Cache – No Extra Bug Out Bags

Once you have safely made it out of your starting location, you can feel confident that the first leg of the journey is over. Still, there is no time to celebrate, because any good bug out shelter will be located one or more handful of miles away from wherever you are fleeing. Now the bug out turns from a sprint to a marathon.

Of course, when traversing miles, likely in less than ideal conditions, you cannot count on your starting supplies to carry through to the finish line. That is why it is always a smart move to store numerous cache supplies along the various potential bug out routes. The reason for this is two-fold.

First, there may be some unforeseen event that forces one or more of your party members to either lose or ditch their bug out bag. Rather than rationing and trying to make do, additional caches can serve as a backup. However, if your bug out shelter is more than ten miles away, those caches may become necessary parts of your bug out plan instead of simply reassuring backups.

  1. Practice Makes Perfect – Not Doing Dry-Runs

Those who can, do. Those who cannot, teach. While the aphorism may be a bit unfair to teachers, the salient point remains: it is a very different thing to do something in the real world than it is to consider it in theory. Even the best plan on paper will not be able to prepare you for all possible eventualities.

Knowing that a local national park has rarely used trails which can make travel both convenient and inconspicuous is one thing, but until you get there, you will not be able to properly plan for it. For instance, those rarely used trails might regularly be washed away by heavy rainstorms or need to be cleared of heavy brush.

In a similar vein, being aware that your bug out location is five miles away with a rough estimation of how long it will take you and your party to travel five miles does not account for the various issues that can crop up in real time while you are bugging out.

  1. Knowledge is Power – Not Practicing Skills

If the preppers purpose is to be prepared, then relying strictly on goods and items is a poor man’s substitute for genuine preparation. You can develop the best of plans for less than ideal conditions, but what happens if everything collapses and fails simultaneously. Are you prepared to survive without any of your gear?

A successful prepper does more than simply plan to account for the absence of modern life’s conveniences. Stockpiling food is a great idea in theory, but what if vermin find a way through an air ventilation duct into your food stores? You need to be capable of improvising with genuine survival skills to hunt, forage, and grow your own food should a stockpile be contaminated or destroyed.

An even greater risk would be if you lost your gear in transit to your bug out location. If your shelter is located more than a day’s hike, this can be a serious risk–especially if your party includes children or the elderly. Your skills must be honed to survive the wilds, at least long enough to reach your shelter, even if your gear is lost.

  1. Location, Location, Location – Bad Shelter

When disaster strikes, getting out of town is only half the battle. Then, you still have to traverse a significant distance to your shelter designed to withstand whatever disaster occurs. However, reaching your shelter may or may not guarantee your survival depending on where you built it and what kind it is.

The most likely potential issue with your shelter is its location. Sure, it is easy enough to figure out that you need to build your shelter away from other people, but that is not the only consideration which can spell tragedy if unaccounted. What types of resources are nearby and the potential environmental hazards are also a primary concern.

Still, beyond the location of the shelter is the shelter’s construction itself. A shelter for you and one other person can be fairly basic. However, the more people you have in your party, the more you need to consider cleanliness as a major potential hurdle. Untreated, porous materials can make a cozy shelter into a hotbed of disease if someone gets sick.

  1. Loose Lips Sink Ships – Telling Too Many People

When you develop a robust and comprehensive plan to ensure the survival of your family in the event of a catastrophe, it can, and should, give you a sense of pride. Through a little time and effort, you have done your first job as a person: make sure that you and your loved ones will carry on through the worst of situations.

However, all of that planning and preparation can be for naught if you let your pride take over your mouth before the need to bug out arises and tell everyone who listens how well prepared you are. Even worse, this can come back to bite you in a couple of different ways.

Easily the most likely problem with being too open about your prepping is that should disaster strike, everyone who knows your plans will immediately come to you seeking aid. Unless you have planned for half the neighborhood to also survive on your stores and gear, chances are you will have to turn them away–assuming they go.

That brings us to the other, far more dangerous, possible result of telling too many people about your plans. When SHTF, people will respond with panic and fear, and that fear can drive them to react with violence. Those people you told might not be willing to accept “sorry, I do not have enough to help you” for an answer.

Conclusion:

In truth, this list could go on even further. Not bringing enough water is a major potential issue. Though, in the same vein, bringing too much water can play into your pack being too heavy. Making sure you have the right clothing, paying attention to hygiene, and staying in shape could also easily make it onto this list.

Regardless, these 10 mistakes are liable to be some of the bigger ones and many are more easily overlooked. However, by properly accounting for these flaws, you bug out plan has a much greater chance of succeeding and will be able to adapt to rapidly shifting circumstances should it need to.

Irma, Maria and Corruption: Puerto Rico

By: Denise Simon | Political Vanguard

Irma, Maria and Corruption are a trifecta of issues for the island nation.

Over the years, Puerto Rico has voted for independence. It is a vote meant to set the stage for Pueto Rico to become the 51st state of the United States. It just won’t happen due to countless underlying issues.

Sadly, many civilians are suffering this very moment in Puerto Rico due to two catastrophic hurricanes. They have not only destroyed homes, they virtually destroyed Puerto Rico’s infrastructure as well. Even before the hurricanes, however, the tiny island was on life support.

Take electricity for example. No region can exist much less thrive without a stable and reliable power source. Puerto Rico has a long history of a failed power grid. As the LA Times noted, with little notice by Democrat members of Congress:

Hurricane Georges in 1998 left the island without power for three weeks. The tropical storm destroyed 30,000 houses and damaged at least another 60,000.

Last year, the island suffered a massive blackout after a fire broke out at one of the island’s main electricity plants, leaving half of the territory’s residents in the dark.

PREPA at the time said two transmission lines had failed.

While natural disasters have underscored the problems of the island’s electrical system, over the past few years the island’s and the power company’s money problems made the power grid particularly susceptible to crippling damage by storms.

As of 2014 the government-owned company was $9 billion in debt, and in July, it filed for bankruptcy under the provisions set by the Puerto Rico Oversight, Management, and Economic Stability Act, a law signed by President Obama in 2016.

Making matters worse, consider the FBI and cyber experts’ investigation regarding the power condition.

Sometime in 2009, an electric utility in Puerto Rico asked the FBI to help it investigate widespread incidents of power thefts that it believed was related to its smart meter deployment. In May 2010, the bureau distributed an intelligence alert about its findings to select industry personnel and law enforcement officials.

Citing confidential sources, the FBI said it believes former employees of the meter manufacturer and employees of the utility were altering the meters in exchange for cash and training others to do so. “These individuals are charging $300 to $1,000 to reprogram residential meters, and about $3,000 to reprogram commercial meters,” the alert states.

The FBI believes that miscreants hacked into the smart meters using an optical converter device — such as an infrared light — connected to a laptop that allows the smart meter to communicate with the computer. After making that connection, the thieves changed the settings for recording power consumption using software that can be downloaded from the Internet.

Then comes working with Puerto Rican government officials. That too is a challenge due to corruption. The NY Post offered in part this item:

Jorge Rodriguez, 49, is the Harvard-educated CEO of PACIV, an international engineering firm based in Puerto Rico that works with the medical and pharmaceutical sectors. The Puerto Rican-born engineer says he has dispatched 50 engineers to help FEMA rehabilitate the devastated island — a commonwealth of the United States — after Hurricane Maria. He refuses to work with the local government, which he called inept and riddled with corruption.

If a lack of electricity isn’t problem enough, there is the clean water issue. You know – the staff of life.

Ever wonder how an island nation does not have a desalination and water treatment system?  Singapore has become a world economic leader in part because it has embraced desalination.

The sophistication and technology is widely available for production of up to 50 million gallons per day. The high cost is always associated with the environmentalists who scream about algae, fish, marine life and other possible destructive consequences, but you can bet if there is no water, their voices run silent. Going back as far as 1998, Princeton University published a white paper explaining the benefits, costs and reliability of this technology.

What about law enforcement?

Glad you asked. Due to corruption and fraud within the ranks of law enforcement in Puerto Rico, James Tuller Cintrón was chosen as superintendent of the Puerto Rico Police Department. Cintron came from the NYPD.

There are 18,000-members in the PRPD. Under the Obama administration, the Justice Department pledged in July $10 million to the Puerto Rican government to combat police corruption, extrajudicial killings and civil rights violations. The deal was the culmination of two years of tense negotiations that focused on reforming the territory’s plagued law enforcement agency.

The cash infusion followed a DOJ report, released in September 2011, which found evidence that the Puerto Rico Police Department (PRPD) violated the Constitution and federal laws by using excess and unreasonable force, making unconstitutional stops, searches and arrests, and targeting individuals of Dominican descent, among other problems.

In 2017, seven people including some government officials were arrested for stealing $10 million in government funds mostly from the education division.

In 2010, the FBI launched a sting called Operation Guard Shack. 750 FBI undercover personnel were flown to Puerto Rico as part of this sting and it resulted in 89 law enforcement officers and 44 other people being arrested and indicted as part of a two-year undercover investigation into 125 drug transactions. Puerto Rico is a major shipping point for drugs between the East Coast and such South American countries as Colombia and Peru.

Now, of course, the American Media is focused on the President’s response to the latest two hurricanes. The biggest critic of the mainland response to the hurricane devastation has been Carmen Cruz. She is the mayor of San Juan.

So, where is she when it comes to FEMA coordination, conference calls and following all disaster planning? Incredibly, the answer is absolutely nowhere. Other mayors from the island participate and collaborate with FEMA, the military and the Red Cross, but lil miss Cruz seems to be notably absent. She literally has failed to attend the meetings. She has, however, found time to appear on televisions to complain.

For all the fears due to catastrophic disasters, including lack of communications, lack of power due to power grid destruction and fleeting supplies of water, there are major opportunities that have been overlooked and not exploited in Puerto Rico.  Now is an excellent opportunity to use the island as an incubation center for clever and resourceful solutions that include alternate forms of power including wind and solar.

Surely after all those taxpayer loan guarantees by the Obama administration for solar companies, there are some panels and battery systems sitting available. When it comes to communications, surely there are some U.S. naval ships that are out of commission and dry-docked that could have or should be converted to communications centers, floating hospitals and even housing for the most vulnerable.

As a result of hurricane Harvey, Irma and Maria in 2017 and the lessons learned from hurricane Katrina, there are many regions of the United States that still need to be innovative, clever and insightful when it comes to disaster recovery and the responsibility does not always fall exclusively with FEMA. Individual preparedness is not only useful but required.

Taking corruption and fraud out of the mix remains however the most daunting challenge of all.

Al-Azhar Deep State Strikes At Egypt’s Constitutional Free Speech

By: Dr. Ashraf Ramelah | Voice of the Copts

In June this year, Justices Alito and Kennedy of the U.S. Supreme Court agreed in their separate opinions for Matal v. Tam that there is no “hate speech” exception to the first amendment of the constitution. In other words, “hate speech” is free speech. In that same month, Egypt’s parliament found a new hate speech bill placed before them for review. It is likely Egypt’s legislators will not take their lead from the United States but follow the footsteps of Germany, United Kingdom, The Netherlands, France and Denmark, to turn the bill entitled, “Combating Hatred and Violence” into law. The vote is scheduled to take place in the near future.

However, before any vote takes place, the Egyptian parliamentarians must address the origin (the writers) of the introduced bill. The bill — which has 16 articles in three sections — was not written by any member of the elected body but by an outside entity. Committing an unconstitutional and illegal action, the Al-Azhar Institute wrote and submitted to parliament the proposed “hatred” bill. Egypt’s parliament is currently aiding and abetting the illegality by considering the proposed bill. Next, they will buckle under the same pressure to rubber stamp it. Just watch.

To be clear, Al- Azhar Institute has no representation, honorary or otherwise, in the Egyptian parliament. This was enumerated a long time ago when Nasser allowed the Islamic religious institute to expand its teachings to the university level in science and technology. And before doing so, Nasser established Law No. 103 in 1961. Still current, Law No. 103 restricts Al- Azhar Institute’s role to a religious/cultural one (meaning not political) and defines it as “the renewal of Islamic culture, removing abstractions and impurities from it.”

A hate speech law crafted by Al- Azhar may, in its own view, be very effective in “renewing” Islamic culture for, rest assured, it will favor Islam above the others. The language of the drafted bill is generic and abstract with the intent to exact that favor. Vagueness is subject to interpretation by those in charge. For example, the proposed bill states it is, “Protecting the community from attempts to indoctrinate false concepts that may emerge among its members and affect the facts of their religion in a manner that incites hatred.” “Community” is not defined, and this makes non-Muslim segments jittery. Are the indoctrinated “false concepts” affecting the “facts of their religion” pertaining to truths spoken about Islam and Sharia? — Probably.

At a time when Al- Azhar Islamists are under much criticism, the ambiguity of the bill, if passed, will muzzle thinkers and intellectuals and stifle expression more so than now. With this maneuver, Al- Azhar ar shows that its aim is to govern behavior and gain more power over personal lives.

Nothing short of a move to reverse Egypt’s constitution regarding free speech, Article 4 of Al- Azhar’s “Combating Hatred and Violence” bill incorporates an end to any opposition to the proposed bill once made into law and, in this case gets very specific: “It’s not permitted to invoke freedom of opinion and expression, criticism, freedom of information, publication or creativity against any statement or action involving anything contrary to the provisions of this law.” To the contrary, Article 65 of the current 2014 Constitution states that “Freedom of opinion is guaranteed and everyone has the right to express his or her opinion by speech, writing, photography or other means of expression and publication.” The two are at odds.

A thousand years old, Al- Azhar has an institutional memory of the freedoms’ and rights’ environment for centuries in Egypt prior to Nasser’s decision to nationalize personal property and pour the proceeds into the coffers of Al-Ahzar. Tipping the scales in this way set up society for the battle against freedoms and human rights. In response to the negative popular reaction in May 1879 to the emerging abuses of political and religious powers, Egypt’s 1923 Constitution came about 45 years later. It stated that the Egyptian parliament is the only “legislative authority” and that no religious institution can have that same role — referring to Al- Azhar Institute and the Coptic Orthodox Pope. Although the 1923 Constitution is now expunged, this point, fortunately, carried over to the current 2014 Constitution.

With its aggressive overreach (an unsolicited and illegally proposed “hate” bill) to increase the presence of Islam throughout a diverse population (secularists, liberals, atheists, Christians of various denominations and Muslims), the Al- Azhar deep state unveiled its true intentions. Instead of reviewing its own internal policies regarding religious teachings and preaching, which would alleviate oppression in Egypt and around the world as well as pressure on the devout, it rides the trend rising in Europe to suppress free speech and ingrain 7th century doctrine.

The powerful Al- Azhar deep state is shoring up its position to hold and penetrate fundamentalism in many ways, building momentum over time. After rejecting Al-Sisi’s plea for reform of Islamic doctrine and ignoring the possibility of school textbooks revision, Al- Azhar Institute created the kiosk project to disseminate religious edits (“fatwas”). Shortly after, Al- Azhar vocalized its contempt for Tunisia’s modernization of ancient religious traditions, and most recently remained silent on the Egyptian state’s campaign against female genital mutilation (FGM). Furthermore, Al- Azhar has never condemned ISIS or any act of Muslim terrorism against Christians in or outside of Egypt.
