KONE RELEASES SECOND VIDEO AD; RESPONDS TO NADLER’S DISMISSAL OF CRITICISM ON ISRAEL POLICY
NEW YORK – In a new video, congressional candidate Susan Kone (R – 8th District) today responded to Congressman Nadler’s cavalier dismissal of criticism over his poor record on supporting Israel. On October 27th, when Kone called his record on Israel into question, a Nadler spokesman dismissed the criticism as ‘Absurd.’ (http://www.thejewishweek.com/news/new_york/challenger_nadler_not_pro_israel)
“This is a pattern of Mr. Nadler’s,” said Kone. “He refuses to debate and face the people, and whenever somebody questions his record, he demonizes them. He’s called opponents of the Ground Zero Mosque – including the families of the victims of September 11th – ‘shameful,’ ‘hateful,’ and ‘divisive,’ and now he’s calling me ‘absurd’ because I dared to call him out on his silence while President Obama flagrantly mistreats Israel in addition to his political contributions to other members of Congress who have called for an appeasement policy toward Hamas. This is a very important issue to the people of this district, and calling on him to answer for his record is hardly ‘absurd.’ He has a lot to answer for.”
Get the facts on what is really absurd:
- Congressman Nadler’s personal political action committee, ‘Jerry’s PAC,’ contributed to California Congresswoman Loretta Sanchez, a signer of J Street’s infamous Gaza Letter 54 which seeks to pressure Israel to allow materials into Hamas-controlled Gaza that could be used to rebuild the terrorist infrastructure after Hamas had incessantly launched rockets targeting Israeli civilians for months on end.
- Congressman Nadler sat silent while the Obama Administration joined and legitimized the so-called Human Rights Council which remains virtually silent about repressive regimes such as Cuba, North Korea, and Iran, while focusing excessive criticism on Israel.
- Congressman Nadler was silent when President Obama asked Israel to open its nuclear facilities to U.N. inspectors without even mentioning Iran.
- Congressman Nadler was silent when the President Obama said he would be open to negotiations with Iran’s leader, Mahmoud Ahmadinejad, who has denied the Holocaust and threatened to “wipe Israel off the map.”
- Congressman Nadler was silent when President Obama displayed poor decorum toward Israeli Prime Minister Netanyahu during his visit to the White House in March of 2010, publicly embarrassing our country.
