“this may be the last time, at least for these two”. That nails it right there. When you stop someone in the act like this, you prevent more of the same in the future. My wife was murdered over two decades ago by men who the police told me had done it before. If someone had had the courage and sense to shoot the bastards then, my kids would have grown up with a mother.
