Over the weekend, a lot has been written about the “occupiers”. For example, this from Dan Friedman:

It’s Official, “Occupy” Movement Is An Obama Front: White House Attacks Cantor For Attacking “Occupy” Movement

From TMH at The Noisy Room, The Occupiers’ Siren Song:

Occupy Wall Street is a movement that has been planned and executed by Marxists in America. There may be lots of useful idiots at play in the movement, but nevertheless, if you follow the money and influence, you find the likes of Democratic Socialists of America, ACORN, SEIU, the DNC, the Obama administration, the Working Families Party, the New Party, Tides and of course, that old evil spider, George Soros.

So far, so good, right? Them bad, us good… You can imagine my horror when I heard of how the left was seducing Conservatives and Libertarians to the dark side.

Mark Steyn on the Occupy Wall Street protest.

Ah, but the great advantage of mass moronization is that it leaves you too dumb to figure out who to be mad at. At Liberty Square, one of the signs reads: “F**k your unpaid internship!” Fair enough. But, to a casual observer of the massed ranks of Big Sloth, it’s not entirely clear what precisely anyone would ever pay them to do.

Tonight at 9p ET we’ll talk about the Occupy Wall Street cancer that is spreading across our nation in cities from NYC to San Francisco. Where it’s headed and the implications for the months leading into the Nov. 12 elections. Jason Ivey of NYC, Dave Perkins of TX, and Arlen Williams of WI, will participate in the conversation.

Jason:

It’s imperative that whomever our nominee is can articulate what caused the financial crisis — that it was the policies of the federal government coercing the banks to do what they did. The people at these protests can’t name names, and can’t cite specifics, because to do so would be to not only indict many prominent Democrats, including Obama, but Leftism in general.

The difference is this: we say we’re against corporate cronyism, and so do they. But we want government out of the private economy, and they want to turn the private economy into a series of public utilities to manipulate to their own ends.

Dave:

I am concerned they will use this newfound power to disrupt on our POLLING PLACES next spring and fall. And elections will be invalidated because ballots will be compromised and voters will be discouraged from showing up at polls.

… if they interfere en masse with the orderly process of voting, who knows how long elections will be put off and how far down that slippery slope of “current leadership remaining semi-permanently in charge” we will go.
