Frank Gaffney: Are We Better Off Now?

At the AIM conference in September, “ObamaNation: A Day of Truth,” we were fortunate to have Frank Gaffney as one of two people who addressed the audience twice. Once was on “The Muslim Brotherhood in America,” in which he demonstrated the extent to which that organization, both directly and through American front groups, has penetrated the highest reaches of our government.

But in this speech, he talked about whether or not the U.S. is better off today, in terms of foreign affairs and relations with other countries, than we were when President Obama came to power in 2009. His conclusion is that we are not. Gaffney has vast experience, both in his work at the Reagan Department of Defense where he was appointed Assistant Secretary of Defense for International Security Policy, and in his non-profit national security work. He founded, and still serves as president, of the Center for Security Policy.

On Iran:

Iran, of course, is a problem on myriad different scores. It is, of course, run by an Islamist regime, albeit of the Shi’ite stripe. It has been engaged in terror; it has, for that matter, been at war with us since 1979. It has been destabilizing its neighborhood and any place else it can get its operatives, including now, increasingly, as I’ll say in a moment, our own hemisphere. We’re learning that it is engaged in cyber warfare against American entities right now, and I suspect that that will kick up more. And, of course, at any given moment we may well see the Strait of Hormuz closed, at least temporarily, with all kinds of repercussions for energy flows and the world economy. Then, as if that weren’t enough, there’s the nuclear weapons program, which is, I believe, at the cusp of finally realizing the decades-long ambition of the Mullahs to acquire and, perhaps, to use nuclear weapons.

On Russia, Gaffney calls the Obama “reset policy” a failure, and that the “flexibility” Obama promised to Dimitri Medvedev, should he be reelected, isn’t going to be good for this country. He expressed concern about the “increasing aggressiveness of the Chinese.”

On Hugo Chavez and Venezuela:

The point of Hugo Chavez is not simply to destroy democracy and any remnant of pro-American sentiment in his own country; he’s seeking to do it through the region much more broadly, and has brought to power a number of proxies, in Ecuador, Bolivia, and Nicaragua, and elsewhere for that purpose. He is, in fact, I believe, implementing Fidel Castro’s grand design; he long ago ran out of money to pursue it, but Hugo Chavez, with the oil wealth of his country, or at least what used to be the oil wealth of his country, has been able to mount it.

The Obama/Media Plot to Take Out Soon-to-be President-elect Willard Mitt Romney

The first rule of any clandestine plot is to not make it so patently obvious that those observing your actions are actually able to figure out what you‘re doing. In other words, ‘We can’t let ‘em see what we’re doing. If they figure it out, we’re cooked’! Thankfully, despite all of their leftist chicanery, many–if not most–members of today’s Marxist media simply are not that bright. To wit the overt Candy Crowley/Obama tag-team performance against soon-to-be President-Elect Mitt Romney.

As I wrote last Monday in my column “Candy Crowley and Obama Tag-Team vs. Romney,” New Marxist (aka “Obama”) media darling Candy Crowley was expected to affect an admirable job of stopping Romney each time he presented a truth to Obama that the media’s still-existent messiah couldn’t counter with another of his lies. So…Candy was chosen to do it for him…or, to be charitable, at least to mislead the public. And…to her credit she did her job of Obama attack dog most admirably. She was able to effectively–for a short period of time–verbally stop Romney‘s attack on Obama. By supporting the “fib” on Obama’s Libya stance and being close to shouting down Governor Romney’s truth-telling she gave him no place to go–unless Mr. Romney were to call her a liar or a “misleader” on television…which, being a gentleman, he would not do. That’s what the media counts on. When Obama ordered her to do so, Crowley obediently stepped in to say that Obama was correct and that he did say the Libyan violence in Benghazi was an “act of terrorism.”

However, on 12 September–the day after the Ambassadorial staff assassinations–Obama had said nothing of the sort. Earlier in his speech Obama had generically referred to “acts of terror” but, did not specifically conflate it with the Benghazi massacre of American citizens. In fact, for two weeks after this speech Obama, Ambassador Rice, Hillary Clinton, Press Secretary Jay Carney and others within the Obama syndicate continued to adamantly refer to an obscure anti-Islamist film as the culprit. Obama even gave a speech at the U.N. in which he–six times–apologized for the USA and blamed the film for the murders. Suffice it to say, this gave logical rise to the belief that the Obama syndicate had fomented and was continuing to perpetrate the lie in the hopes that the public would buy it. We did not. Confirmed almost immediately by the new Libyan president, there was never any protest or riot–whatsoever. This was a pre-planned and subsequently implemented attack by Al-Qaeda–the offshoot group of both Obama & Hillary-Friends the Muslim Brotherhood. However, that’s not the thrust of this column.

One thing that I have–thus far–not heard on any of the cable news shows is the following. Just prior to Crowley jumping in to help Obama with his Benghazi statement, Obama smiled and ordered Crowley to “get the transcript.” She had it right in front of her and jumped in to defend Obama with information contained on the paper in front of her…which she dramatically waved in the air This was an immediate response from Ms. Crowley…almost as if she had been waiting for just that moment to deliver her lines. This takes “media complicity” to a new depth…one at least five levels below pond scum. The media has been blatantly biased toward the Left in the past but, now they’re not even attempting to cover it up. I wonder how many times Crowley and Obama had to go over their lines, in order to achieve the possibility an Emmy nomination.

There is one thing that gives me great hope of electing President Romney. This is that I am not the only one who caught it. A reader wrote me to tell me that she had, also, caught this. We-the-People are tuned into the corruption now almost encompassing us all. We are now paying close attention to everything surrounding this election and, also, are now actively working to correct the dismantling of our country. With the aging leftist Bob Schieffer–scheduled to “moderate” the final debate on Monday–I suspect that we can expect more of the same protection of Obama and attacks against Romney. Hmmm. Even as I write this, I wonder if Mr. Schieffer is being prepped by Team Obama. We will all be watching for it.

But, keep the faith, folks. With God’s assistance, help is on the way. On 6 November 2012, we will elect a new president of the United States and send the old one packing! Remember, we must vote in numbers never before seen in any election in the United States of America.

True The Vote Commends Florida’s Investigation Into Interstate Voter Fraud

HOUSTON, TX. October 18, 2012 ― True The Vote (TTV), the nonpartisan election integrity organization, today commended Florida Secretary of State Ken Detzner’s decision to forward TTV’s early findings of interstate voter fraud to the Florida Department of Law Enforcement, according to the Associated Press.

“This is a significant development in Florida that reflects progress in the effort to prevent interstate voter fraud by absentee ballot,” True The Vote President, Catherine Engelbrecht said. “The State of Florida has set a strong example for election authorities to combat voter fraud across the nation. This case also demonstrates the key role citizens should play to better ensure election integrity. As voters prepare to cast their ballots, they should remember that no candidate or cause is worth a felony conviction.”

Upon receiving formal complaints by True The Vote, Rhode Island Secretary of State A. Ralph Mollis’ office announced their coordination with legal counterparts in Tallahassee, according to the Providence Journal. Florida Secretary of State Ken Detzner’s office acknowledged the citizen findings in the Orlando Sentinel and Fort Lauderdale Sun-Sentinel as well.

True The Vote began a new research initiative focused on mapping the absentee voter relationships across the nation in September. Samples of voter registration records cross-referenced between portions of New York, Florida, Ohio and Rhode Island yielded 99 cases of interstate voter fraud, with voters casting ballots in two states simultaneously in a single election. True The Vote is currently performing final verification efforts on an additional 800 voters before submitting records to appropriate authorities.

Markers along the Road

We depend on markers along the road, verification we’re on the right path toward our destination. There was a picture of an old map which caught my attention this morning. Something about maps is exciting, makes our imagination go to work. Old maps may even act as portals to another time and transport us through history.

This past week we gave away our old sofa and love seat to make room for new ones. Our cat, Pumpkin, came in from being in the rain and was scurrying through the den when it dawned on her, something was different; her markers along the way had been removed.

“Hey, humans; somebody walked off with my sofa and love seat! You guys gonna’ make a police report or what?” That’s a rough translation of her yowling while pointing to the obvious open spaces where the furniture had been.

The scene was repeated Tuesday when Pumpkin noticed the new sofa and love seat, “Hey, humans; they pulled a fast one, these aren’t ours. Are you guys blind or just stupid?” Pumpkin went off to sulk under the bed the rest of the day.

Markers in the road reassure us we’re headed in the right direction. When I was in the back seat of my folk’s car on vacation, my dad driving at a reasonable speed, I can recall his line, “We’re lost; but we’re making good time.” Checking to make sure the road signs matched with those on the map wasn’t one of my dad’s strong suits; that’s how we got to see Waco, Texas, only an hour out of our way and everyone should see Waco at least once in their life.

November is coming up soon, a chance to continue down the path we’re now on or, perhaps, alter that course with different leadership in Washington. The markers would indicate a decided move toward socialism and totalitarianism; not exactly what our founders envisioned when they penned our road map, the Constitution.

Individual liberties and rights protected by the Constitution are being removed a little at a time. When my cat noticed the missing sofa and love seat the change was easily noticed and cause for alarm. Whittling down individual liberties has been an ongoing process for many years; here a little, there a little, until one day we awakened to find some of them nearly gone.

The Supreme Court drove a wedge into the 1st Amendment when they magically found words that weren’t included anywhere in the Constitution, something about separation of church and state which has been used to attack and remove anything associated with religion from the public square. Our children can’t say a prayer at school or mention religion at sporting events without some ACLU lawyer filing a lawsuit.

I dare say, if Thomas Jefferson were to visit our time, he’d wonder what happened to our markers along the way, those which lead us toward the kind of nation our Father in Heaven had in mind when His divine Spirit inspired these men to write the most superb documents in the history of mankind.

Obama pushed for and got bipartisan support to destroy the 1st Amendment’s protection of free speech, specifically the right to address grievances toward the government.

“The legislation, H.R. 347, now allows Secret Service agents to decide where and when you have the right to speak freely. This legislation, supported by both parties, gives the Secret Service the ability to set up “NO FREE SPEECH ZONES.” In these zones, it would become a felony punishable by up to one year in jail to protest against the government.”

Why are there no Bibles used in teaching basic principles of conduct in each classroom and no moment of prayer set aside to acknowledge our Creator at the start of each day? “Who stole these important markers? What have you guys done with the protections built into the Constitution?”

Dinesh D’Souza explained during a debate with Michael Shermer at Oregon University how a certain percentage of our population really does need help; but that over time that percentage has grown to include many who simply would rather let others do the work.

“About 10% of the population is getting pulled in the wagon. This percentage is increasing over time, and the people in the wagon are starting to think, “Hey, it’s nice back there in the wagon, why should I keep pulling?”’

There are no provisions in the Constitution for wealth redistribution and yet much of the nation’s budget is directed towards entitlements which are bankrupting us. Entitlements are destroying the fabric of our society.

Those pulling the wagon are being worn down by those in the wagon, those who could have been helping pull; but find it easier to let others do the work. It wouldn’t be so bad if the ones in the wagon were helpless, too old or infirm; but able bodied individuals on the dole are demanding a free ride and president Obama points a finger of blame at those pulling the wagon for not doing enough rather than tossing the moochers out of the wagon.

My cat’s smart enough to notice something was drastically wrong when she saw the sofa and love seat were missing. You can bet even the moochers in the wagon, those going along for the free ride know our nation can’t endure the way we’re headed. It’s time to turn the wagon down a different path and establish those markers, markers intended to keep us on the right path.

November 6th would be a good time to begin the process of turning things around, getting us headed toward the path which recognizes individual liberty. Constitutional markers provide a means of obtaining all other blessings; meaningful employment, a favorable economy, monetary stability and national security. It’s time to speak up and be heard.

CNN’s Crowley actually set Obama up for Romney ‘spike’ in last debate

Wednesday night, during the town hall style presidential debate, when President Barack Obama was confronted by a direct question as to why it took him two weeks to characterize the Benghazi consulate attack as a ‘terrorist attack,’ he answered that [in fact] he had do so the day, during his September 12th Rose Garden speech, as reported in a FOXNews article today.

This incredulous revelation caused Governor Mitt Romney to ‘stop dead in his tracks,’ then pivot back toward Obama and [firmly] ask the president to repeat the claim.

With pursed lips, Obama refused to, instead ordering Romney to ‘proceed.’

As Romney continued to press the president to repeat himself, Obama responded by ‘barking’ at moderator and CNN host, Candy Crowley, to ‘check the transcript.’

And as if by magic, Crowley complied, pulling out a copy from beneath her desktop, and while waving it in the air before the cameras, she asserted that President Obama was ‘correct’…to a bewildered Gov. Romney, applause from half of the audience and 65.6 million TV viewers.

Interestingly, the quote she was relying upon and seemed to immediately reference in her copy of the transcript was from all the way down in the 13th paragraph, of the 17 paragraph speech, a point well after President Obama had spoken specifically about the incident, hereunder referenced from a September 12, 2012 FOXNews article:

No acts of terror will ever shake the resolve of this great nation, alter that character or eclipse the light of the values that we stand for.

Clearly, Candy’s ’emergency interdiction’ of Mitt Romney was not only against the strict rules of debate, but also the majority of American’s sense of ‘fair play.’

Not to mention that her assertion was, and still is…completely false.

Using a standard Liberal tactic, Candy Crowley would later attempt to save what, if any, integrity she had left, by finally agreeing Romney was making a legitimate point, later, during CNN post-debate coverage.

Right after that I did turn around and say … but you [Romney] are totally correct that they [Obama] spent two weeks telling us [the entire world] that this was about a tape.

Unfortunately that will not redeem her sodden character–unless Candy is filmed casting her ballot for Mitt Romney during early voting this week.

Regardless, in the end, Barack Obama’s most damning and despicable contrivance came at the end of the 8th paragraph of the speech, wherein he stated:

[B]oth Secretary Clinton and I have relied deeply on his [Ambassador Stevens’] knowledge of the situation on the ground there.

Sadly, if that were true, Hillary Clinton would not have had to fly all the way to Peru on Monday, to ‘confess’ her responsibility in Benghazi matter to FOXNews Wendell Goler, highlighting State Department officials Congressional testimony earlier in the week, admitting to the refusal of Ambassador Stevens,’ and State Department ‘security professionals,’ repeated pleas for [much] greater security at the consulate.

Accordingly, Barack and Hillary must now face the fact that every clear thinking person in America knows that they sacrificed four lives, in order to make Libya appear ‘normalized‘ for the media, in an attempt to salvage any portion of their feckless, ‘lead from behind’ foreign policy, which everyone knows is up in flames all over the Middle East.

Let it be known that even if our Special Forces operators take out a group of Ansar al-Shariah terrorists before the final presidential debate–on ‘Foreign Policy’ next Monday night, will in no way be a reprieve for these two political scoundrels.

And, it is certain that the bright, shining light that Candy Crowley shined on the president’s latest cowardly contrivance, will assure that Mitt Romney will arrive, fully prepared to re-engage on this matter–and cleanly spike Barack Obama’s reelection prospects into the ground once and for all…of us.
