When Ignorance Is No Longer Bliss

By: Sharon Sebastian
Website: www.DarwinsRacists.com

The saying, “ignorance is bliss,” is what is known as an idiom. It refers to the refusal to acknowledge the reality of a situation. Some people hide in that “ignorance” because the truth is unpleasant or too overwhelming or they just do not want to worry about it. They prefer someone else take the burden of dealing with whatever the issue is, in other words, that someone else stands-in for them as the adult. Being an adult means you recognize and deal with circumstances as they exist; that you do not ignore the truth of those circumstances.

Adults know that government handouts are not truly free. Being adult means that you know that the fictitious “free” ride eventually ends, that the money eventually runs out if half the people take without contributing, that if you do not have a strong military freedom is eventually taken from you and that if you have a press that is aligned with the government, ignorance is the result.

Ignorance is not necessarily a reflection of lack of intellect. Consider all of the Think Tanks, ivy-league graduates and media analysts who either choose to ignore or cannot see the internal and global assault upon our great nation. Other Americans do not perceive the threat because lower educational standards have dulled their analytical processes. Such is the unfertile ground that has allowed the perpetrators to rush forward towards America’s demise as they pursue their quest to bring down a republic of free people and repress speech that is counter to their own. History records that their well-worn ideology, the religion of socialism that drives their actions, has torn nations asunder or rendered them defenseless. The alarm bells to warn a free and self-sufficient nation of Americans have long been sounding. Many have chosen to ignore the reality at hand.

What has kept the American people in the dark – which is a metaphor of things to come – is lack of knowledge. What is coming quickly is a change that the people, their families, their neighbors, their employers and their clergy are ill-prepared for or they simply choose to ignore. Those who remain cowered behind “ignorance is bliss” will have a rude awakening. The thought of the coming hardships, regardless of political differences, that will be imposed on all Americans is deeply distressing. There is a great grouping of citizens in the middle of extremist ideologies that firmly believe we are all one people and that even those who are remiss, incapable or faulty in their duty to their country and their fellow Americans, that they must also remain protected by the very freedoms and rights upon which this nation was founded.

Millions of Americans cast their vote to receive from the government largesse. What that vote delivers is a temporary micro impact with macro consequences. Promises for free contraception to life-long welfare to cross-dressing in the workplace distracted voters from the bigger picture. An already in-play strategy involves, in due course, sacrificing their money, their health, their rights and their freedoms to a force at work beyond their limited view. They have become willing targets. For those of us who care about all of them and their freedoms and rights as much as we do our own, they must understand that there is no safe haven outside our shores.

America’s future cannot be entrusted to those who someday will wake up and wonder what happened to their freedoms. Whether it is their rights under the Constitution to exercise freedom of speech and freedom to worship to more implicit freedoms not to pay international taxes, freedom to have a say in your child’s education, freedom to vote out zealous regulators of your personal life, energy usage, childbearing or even current access to the Internet, the following YouTube link provides some insight into what is already happening and what is to come. If you have tuned-in to this YouTube, listen again as a fresh reminder, then pass it along to others regardless of their political stance. Everyone deserves to know the truth. There is a current time stamp on how long hapless ignorance can remain bliss. That clock is ticking.

Lessons America Can Learn from the Rwandan Genocide

Against All Enemies

On Sunday, 11 November 2012, Major (ret.) Brent Beardsley gave a powerful presentation reflecting on his experience as a Christian Soldier in Rwanda during the Rwandan genocide from 1993-94. He served as the personal staff officer to then Canadian General Romeo Dallaire before and during the Rwandan genocide that engulfed that nation and ultimately claimed the lives of approximately 1 million people in 100 days.*

As Americans we should listen carefully to Major Beardsley’s comments on the events that led to the genocide in Rwanda, and judge whether or not we are following in the exact same steps.

At 27:00 in the audio (link here), Major Beardsley warns us to beware when you resent another group and go through a period of instability with fear and despair with opportunistic politicians who stir up anger. The politicians stir it up until it is a combination of hatred and fear. Hate is only a step away from killing. Hate breeds violence.

Are we Americans not being led to anger, and then hate? At the point of hate, the unthinkable will be possible, and Americans will believe it necessary to kill their fellow Americans just like in Rwanda and also Bosnia. Neighbors will turn on their neighbors, and Christians will turn on their fellow Christians.

We must never allow it to get that far.

Why Did Cantor Protect Obama?

By: Cliff Kincaid
Accuracy in Media

The central figures in the David Petraeus sex scandal are not talking. That includes Virginia Congressman and House Majority Leader Eric Cantor. Yet, the decision by this top Republican to turn to the FBI rather than his colleagues in the House with inside information about the scandal has proven to be monumental, a development that enabled Barack Obama to win the presidency without getting tainted by the allegations of immorality and corruption that are now the subject of daily news reports.

The record shows that Cantor had knowledge of the affair from an FBI whistleblower before the election but decided not to go public with the allegations of high-level misconduct by the CIA director. He stayed silent as Obama campaigned for re-election as a foreign policy statesman and efficient manager of America’s national security interests.

Cantor understood the stakes. In an October 22 column, Cantor had declared, “The American people deserve a president who recognizes that the war on terrorism is not over. They deserve a president who is dedicated to maintaining American pre-eminence in the world and who will protect our military budget, not cut it. They deserve a president who will restore and grow America’s alliances, who will prove America to be a reliable partner and a fierce enemy.”

But when he was given the David Petraeus scandal on a silver platter by an FBI whistleblower, more than a week before the election, Cantor turned the information over to the FBI, the same agency which had been conducting the cover-up on Obama’s behalf. Indeed, this cover-up is why the whistleblower came to Cantor. The predictable result of going to the FBI, headed by Robert Mueller, who was re-appointed by Obama, is that nothing was done and Obama won the election.

If Cantor had gone public, the fallout from the scandal would have rocked Obama’s presidency just before Election Day. Because the allegations were based on inside information provided by a whistleblower and were true and could not be denied, Cantor’s revelations could not have been automatically dismissed as partisan or political in nature. The FBI whistleblower might have been persuaded to go public as well.

In one of the latest developments, which demonstrates the serious nature of the scandal, Jennifer Griffin of Fox News has confirmed that Petraeus mistress Paula Broadwell did release classified information in a public forum when talking about the CIA holding prisoners at a facility in Libya. It is likely that Broadwell got the information from Petraeus.

Cantor’s failure to go public or even tell his colleagues about the scandal in advance is starting to attract more interest from the press.

“House Majority Leader Eric Cantor has some tall explaining to do to the leadership on Capitol Hill,” notes Washington Post columnist Colbert King.

King, a liberal, hit the target on this one, asking why Cantor only went to the FBI with the information. He asks, “Why didn’t Cantor raise the alarm? The majority leader needs to step up to the mic.” King notes that members of Congress are livid over being kept in the dark by the FBI about the scandal.

The only reporter to confront Cantor about his strange handling of the explosive allegations is WTVR CBS 6 Richmond, Virginia, reporter Joe St. George. Cantor told him, “I had some information that I felt was information that raised some concerns and potentially could have some impact for our nation’s security.” St. George asked Cantor about the decision to not release the information publicly prior to the election. “I don’t want to comment, I don’t think it’s something we want to politicize—I think this is a national security concern,” Cantor said.

These are fine sentiments. However, according to a November 10 article by Scott Shane and Eric Schmitt of The New York Times, Cantor’s chief of staff, Steve Stombres, called the FBI on October 31 to tell them about the call Cantor had received from the FBI whistleblower. “They took the information,” Doug Heye, Cantor’s deputy chief of staff, was quoted as saying, “and gave the standard answer: they were not able to confirm or deny any investigation, but said that all necessary steps were being taken to make sure no confidential information was at risk.”

In other words, the FBI was stonewalling Cantor. Informing the FBI had gotten nowhere. The cover-up was continuing, at least through Election Day, and Cantor at this point had to know it.

While Cantor refuses to talk in detail about why he only went to the FBI with the information, the FBI whistleblower who confided in Cantor is now under attack by the liberal press as someone “obsessed” with the case and too close to one of the participants in the scandal.

The lesson is clear: don’t go to the House Republicans with any inside knowledge of Obama Administration scandals.

ICLA Victory On Protest Monitors For Western Europe

By: Aeneas Lavinium
ICLA

View of Vienna

ICLA has scored an important victory for basic freedoms in Western Europe. This follows repeated disruptions to gatherings at which people were concerned about the rise of sharia norms. The progress made by ICLA was evident in the closing remarks of Ambassador Janez Lenarčič (Director of the OSCE Office for Democratic Institutions and Human Rights (ODIHR)).

ICLA highlighted serious abuses of the right to freedom of assembly and freedom of association across Western Europe. The examples given in our submission suggested reluctance on the part of governments to properly facilitate gatherings of people who had concerns relating to sharia law. The recurrence of such abuses suggested that this might even be official Government policy to prevent such concerns to be raised in the public domain. ICLA is concerned that it is the policy of many governments to allow extremist agitators to repeatedly disrupt assemblies that the governments did not want to take place. As a result ICLA called for OSCE monitors to attend such gatherings to ensure that the governments of Western Europe were meeting their human rights obligations.

ICLA submitted its paper at the Supplementary Human Dimension Implementation Meeting, held at the Hofburg in Vienna on 9 November 2012. The text of the paper can be found HERE. In its submission ICLA to made the following recommendation to the OSCE:

“As the problems for freedom of assembly are increasing, in particular in participating States west of Vienna, ICLA urges OSCE to significantly increase its monitoring activities in these countries. Neutral monitoring and reporting is urgently needed in order that peaceful citizens can safely exercise their right to freedom of assembly, as stipulated in OSCE principles.”

In his closing remarks Ambassador Lenarčič made a variety of points that indicated he had took heed of ICLA’s worries:

“Monitoring activities undertaken by ODIHR have shown that issues remain in the OSCE region regarding burdensome authorization procedures for public assemblies, the existence of blanket bans on assemblies, the inadequate policing of counter-demonstrations, […]”

“I can only reiterate that it is of paramount importance that participating States ensure that peaceful assemblies can take place without undue State interference or harassment of organizers and participants.”

“We strongly encourage all participating States to take the conclusions and recommendations resulting from this meeting seriously, and to follow up on them, with the assistance of OSCE institutions in line with their mandates.”

Thus the OSCE is now taking note of our concerns, though there is still some way to go before basic freedoms are restored in Western Europe. It is the hope of ICLA that the conclusions and recommendations are taken seriously by the OSCE participating States. Independent monitoring and reporting by OSCE would be useful to protect our basic liberties, and it is the hope of ICLA that we will soon see OSCE monitors on the ground at demonstrations relating to opposition to sharia norms and sharia compliance.
