Nancy Pelosi Pushes “Agenda 21” in 1992

Many conservatives and Republicans still have no concept of what Agenda 21 is all about. Many of them actually vote for Agenda 21 related programs. Many still deny that it even exists.
Agenda 21 does exist. It is real. It is basically a United Nations plan to socialize the United States under the cover of environmentalism.
Here leftist congress members Elliot Engel and Nancy Pelosi pushing Agenda 21 in the US Congress in 1992.

Marxist Labor Leaders Used Latino Voters to Move California Left – Implications for All Americans
By: Trevor Loudon
New Zeal
A group of socialist California labor officials and Democratic Party operatives, led by Los Angeles County Federation of Labor head Maria Elena Durazo, targeted Latinos and immigrants in a deliberate program to permanently drive Golden State politics to the left.
This program was revealed in a November 2010 Calbuzz blogpost: Untold Story: How the Latino Vote Hit Critical Mass, by one of its key participants, Sacramento based Democratic Party political consultant Richie Ross.
In the post, Ross openly boasts of targeting the Latino community’s fear of anti-illegal immigration measures, to drive the community even further into the arms of the Democratic Party.
He explicitly names Durazo, her late husband and labor boss predecessor Miguel Contreras, as initiators of the program. He also states how the couple worked with future California Assembly speaker Fabian Nunez to implement the plan.
According to Ross:
Beginning in 1994, California began to change. The numbers of immigrants who became citizens grew exponentially each year. According to the Department of Homeland Security’s statistics, prior to Proposition 187, the number of new citizens in California each year had been a steady 50,000 to 60,000. In 1994, the number jumped to 118,567. In 1995, it was 171,285. In 1996, 378,014.
Also in 1994, a husband and wife team, Miguel Contreras the leader of the Los Angeles County Federation of Labor and Maria Elena Durazo, then the leader of the Hotel Workers in Los Angeles (later Miguel’s successor at the Labor Fed) began something new: they linked organizing immigrant workers to organizing immigrant voters. And they hired a young immigrant-rights firebrand, Fabian Nunez, as he protested Proposition 187 by carrying the Mexican flag down Broadway in Los Angeles.
Nunez served as L.A. Labor’s political director and eventually became the Speaker of the Assembly.
The campaigns we developed broke new ground, organized new union workers, and increased the political impact Latino voters had on California politics – simultaneously tripling their number of registered voters, increasing the Democratic share of that vote by 50%, and doubling the percentage of the total votes cast in California from Latinos.
Through the rest of the 1990′s our campaigns focused on legislative races in Los Angeles. We succeeded. But it was all small.
In the 2000s, the team began to play for higher stakes. And all evidence points to their success.
In 2000, the message was controversial. “If you want to make a difference, voting isn’t enough. Don’t bother voting unless you sign our pledge to get 100% of your family to vote.” Latino turnout rose… and accounted for 14% of the votes cast according to the State’s voter registration and voting history records.
In 2005, over dinner with some friends, Durazo heard a successful Latina businesswoman bemoaning the low Latino turn-out for Antonio Villaraigosa in March of 05. The woman told Durazo that it was “Imperdonable” (Unforgivable).
The City’s voting records show that the L.A. Labor Fed’s “Imperdonable” campaign increased Latino turn-out in the Mayoral run-off by 50%.
In May 2010, Durazo called us together. Her message was clear. Latinos would end up voting for Jerry Brown. That would be easy. The challenge was how to motivate them to vote at all.
‘Fortunately, the Republicans in Arizona wrote a new law.
When we conducted focus groups, people brought the issue up to us. When we polled it, we found 93% of California Latinos knew about it, 84% said it was more about profiling than immigration, and 73% thought it could happen in California. That view became more believable when Meg Whitman and Steve Poizner in the Republican primary tried to outdo one another as anti-immigrant politicians.
So instead of a campaign where our candidate was a 72-year-old white guy, Maria Elena and the L.A Fed ran a campaign on behalf of “Tuesday” – Martes – and against an opponent – Arizona – that research told us Latinos were motivated to defeat.’
And Fabian? After he met with Maria Elena this summer, he decided to fund the “Martes Si, Arizona No!” television ad campaign. [Which not coincidentally included a pitch in favor of Prop. 25, the measure for a majority vote on the state budget — Ed]
Latinos accounted for 22% of the votes cast in California. None of us know how much bigger this trend will be. We do know that Pete Wilson’s TV ad got one thing right… “they keep coming”… to the polls.
And those Latinos going to the polls, under the guidance of Durazo and organized labor, have made California effectively into a “one party state.” Even once strongly conservative areas such as orange County are slowly falling to the Democrats.
While increasing voter participation among selected groups is perfectly legitimate, the key issue here is Durazo’s motivation.
The US’ two most significant Marxist groups, the Communist Party USA and Democratic Socialists of America, are both committed to increasing the Latino vote in order to give their allies, the Democrats, a permanent electoral majority.
Maria Elena Durazo is closely allied to both groups.
Durazo is also well connected to LA Mayor Antonia Villaraigosa and leading California State politician Gil Cedillo, both long time key immigration activists.
Durazo, Villaraigoas and Cedillo, all trained under legendary Los Angles Communist Party USA activist, Democratic Party activist and “immigration reform” pioneer Bert Corona.
All three have long ties to both the Communist Party USA and Democratic Socialists of America, and coincidentally were all prominent California supporters of presidential candidate Barack Obama and long time ally of both the Communists and DSA.
Coincidentally, Corona was promoted and mentored as a young man by another secret communist, International Longshore Worker’s Union president Harry Bridges.
It was Bridges who would later advise prominent Chicago communist Frank Marshall Davis to move to Hawaii, where he was employed writing for an ILWU newspaper.
Frank Marshall Davis would of course later go on to meet and mentor the young Barack Obama.
Durazo, Cedillo and Villaraigosa were all trained at Bert Corona’s radical Centro de Action Social Autonoma (CASA) in the 1970s.
Both Durazo and Cedillo were connected to another Corona founded Communist party spinoff, the very influential Mexican American Political Association.
In May 1992, the Communist Party USA newspaper Peoples Weekly World published a May Day supplement which included a call to “support our continuing struggle for justice and dignity”
Endorsers of the call included “Maria Elena Durazo, Local 11, HERE.”
In November 1993, Los Angeles Democratic Socialists of America’s Debs-Thomas Dinner, honored Hotel and Restaurant Employees Union leader Maria Elena Durazo.
Los Angeles Democratic Socialists of America was very closely connected to the LA Democratic Party.
According to DSA’s Democratic Left, Fall 2000:
Democratic Socialists of America kicked off events at the Democratic National Convention by organizing a major panel on the 2000 presidential and congressional elections. National Director Horace Small played host to DSA leaders Harold Meyerson, of LA Weekly who was doing double duty putting out a daily for conventioneers…
They were joined by panelists Maria Elena Durazo, president of H.E.R.E in LA, John Nichols of the Madison daily Capital Times, Antonio Villa, (Antonio Villaraigosa) Speaker Emeritus of Californias Assembly, and William Monroe Campbell, of Ministers Against Global Injustice.
Lynn Shaw longtime DSA member and vice-chair of the LA County Democrats, chaired the event.
On March 11, 1998, Los Angeles Democratic Socialists of America leader Steve Tarzynski had written an email to his Los Angeles DSA comrade Harold Meyerson.
Meyerson, now a columnist with the Washington Post, was one of the first non-Chicago journalists to introduce Barack Obama to the wider American public.
In his email, Tarzynski had listed 25 people he thought should be on an “A-list” of “25 or so leaders/activists/intellectuals and/or “eminent persons” who would gather periodically to theorize/strategize about how to rebuild a progressive movement in our metropolitan area that could challenge for power.”
Over half of of those listed were members of Democratic Socialists of America. Many on the list, including Maria Elena Durazo, Miguel Contreras, Gil Cedillo and Antonio Villaraigosa, mega-wealthy socialist power broker Stanley Sheinbaum and US Congress members Karen Bass, Xavier Becerra, Henry Waxman and Maxine Waters went on to become the inner circle of the Los Angeles leftist power elite.
This group evolved into the Progressive Los Angeles Network, which was formally launched in December 1999. PLAN was founded and built on the success of the 1998 Progressive L.A. Conference which was co-sponsored by a number of local and national institutions and organizations including Occidental College, The Nation Institute, the DSA connected Liberty Hill Foundation, Meyerson’s LA Weekly and Contreras and Durazo’s Los Angeles County Federation of Labor.
The Progressive LA Conference “was an overwhelming success and gave participants a sense that the growth of a wide variety of progressive social movements had reached an important threshold. As a result, attendees and others within the progressive movement in Los Angeles expressed a desire to participate in further discussion about how to develop a common agenda that is community based, inclusive and brings together the wealth of experience and knowledge of organizers, activists and researchers.”
This movement also helped to propel Antonio Villaraigosa into the Los Angeles mayoralty in 2005.
Another Progressive Los Angeles Network leader and prominent DSAer Peter Dreier, of Occidental College, wrote of the Villaraigosa victory and that of another ‘network’ member, current Obama Labor Secretary Hilda Solis, in DSA’s Democratic Left, Winter 2006.
Antonio Villaraigosa….He was a union organizer. He worked his way up through the labor movement and then was elected to the state legislature, becoming Speaker of the Assembly.
When he was term-limited out of the legislature he ran for the LA City Council and was elected. When he ran for Mayor the first time in 2001 he lost, but he ran again and won in 2005. Now we have a progressive mayor, thanks in large part to this impressive network of grassroots organizations, labor unions and community and environmental organizations. Many of them have lifted up some of their leaders into positions of electoral power. It’s a network of activists that work closely with elected officials, like Congresswoman Hilda Solis, and it’s just remarkable what L.A. has become.
Maria Elena Durazo and her labor union and socialist colleagues have changed the face of Southern California forever. As the once Golden State sinks into bankruptcy, Durazo and her comrades will exploit an ever growing Latino voting bloc to maintain power for their Democrat friends, no matter how bad economic conditions become.
This is pretty much how Obama won the 2012 presidential election. If he can now carry out his plan to give citizenship to 12,000,000 illegal immigrants now living in the US, the Democrats will have at least 8,000,000 more locked in votes for 2016.
All Americans should learn from the socialist takeover of California, because this is the blueprint for the entire United States. Latino immigrants and voters will be one of the key planks of American socialism.
Millions of Latinos, who come to America for a better life for their children, are going to exploited by Marxists, labor union socialists and Democrats, to destroy the very country they long to be part of.
Unless conservatives and Republicans are prepared to confront this issue head on, the constitutional republic known as the United States of America will soon be gone forever.
Forum: What’s Your Reaction To The Fiscal Cliff Agreement?

Every week on Monday morning, the Council and invited guests weigh in at the Watcher’s Forum with short takes on a major issue of the day. This week’s question: What’s your reaction to the Fiscal Cliff Agreement?
The Razor: Everyone said Boehner was dealt a bad hand, but I don’t play poker for a reason: I suck at it. I understand that the best poker players are able to win regardless of their luck, which leads me to the following conclusion:
A great speaker in Boehner’s situation would have bested Obama and gotten an amazing deal. A good speaker would have gotten a decent deal where Democrats and Republicans were both upset but glad the worst was behind them. An incompetent speaker would have gotten a bad deal where the Democrats would have gotten everything and the GOP nothing that it wanted. A terrible speaker got the deal Boehner got – which is a disaster that was worse than the Democrats were offering.
I’m still trying to understand how Boehner managed to do that, but the bottom line was that he got a bad deal AND instead of talking about the 77% of Americans whose pay checks will be cut by 2% from now on, the wags were talking about how the GOP screwed the Northeast with the Hurricane Sandy bill. Yes the bill was bad and will be made right by the next congress, but the GOP were made out to be petty and divided by the way the bill was handled. Lost in the kerfluffle was the higher taxes everyone that’s working is paying and Moody’s threat to downgrade our debt which shows the danger of Obama’s spending ways.
Yes, the GOP is in civil war and I’m all for it. Boehner is clearly incompetent and the rest of the GOP leadership needs to be rounded up. I’m grabbing my pitchfork and heading to the Bastille because the way it stands today, the Republican party will join the Whigs on the ash heap of History and it’s time for something better.
The Political Commentator: While the Democrat position regarding the fiscal cliff negotiations came as no surprise, what struck me was the unfortunate maestro-like way in which the Obama-led Party played the Republicans in much the same way that a concert pianist would play the Chopin Funeral March.
While it remains to be seen how much backbone the Republicans exhibit when the debt ceiling debate reaches the point of maximum noise, what is painfully obvious is that the Party of Obama is focused on everything but spending cuts and deficit reduction as evidenced by a “cliff” deal that’s projected to add $4 trillion to our federal debt.
My reaction is one of angst and fear for myself, my children and my future grandchildren concerning the fact that the POTUS and his Party could care less about destroying the American currency, the American economy or of breaking the backs of the people who present the greatest opportunity for reversing our economic tailspin while at the same time creating an atmosphere of class warfare that threatens to at some point pit one American against another in violent confrontation!
For them it is all a political calculation geared towards reelection by pandering to a gullible and ignorant electorate with giveaways.
G-D help us all.
The Noisy Room: Intense anger is my reaction. I expected evil machinations from Obama, but Boehner truly outdid himself this time. Not only did Obama get everything he wanted, he showcased the Republicans for the spineless lot that they truly are and tore their ranks asunder.
Even now, I hear the political cries that everyone had to do this, to save us from radical tax increases. Well, Obama got his tax increases anyway and laid the ground for much more, so I am puzzled at this justification. The middle class was hurt the most by all of this – not the elite. My husband just received a $1500 a year pay reduction and that is before Obamacare kicks in. Let’s not even discuss what is happening to my business – it is heartbreaking. There is no longer a two
party system… just Progressives on both sides of the aisle, all snuggly under the covers with each other while telling working Americans they can just pound sand. The elite Progressives view Americans as their serfs who fund their lavish lifestyles. But the slaves have just about had enough.
What’s even worse, is this whole piece of sordid theater laid the groundwork for Obama to finish off the Constitution and rule by executive fiat in toto. He no longer fears an actual fight as he moves to gut the Second Amendment and take full control via a dictatorship. But as Bob Owens has astutely pointed out, he will have one hell of a fight on his hands.
Obama will tax us into submission if he can. He will finish off America by destroying her great economy once and for all, while neutering our military and baring our throat to our enemies. How he must truly hate America and revel in the potential for her glorious demise. The one thing he has miscalculated on is the American people. He may be using class warfare to get his way, but there are just enough patriots among us who will fight to the end to see America regain her glory.
Sadly, the Republicans will go down in history on the wrong side and will be remembered only as weak, Progressive underlings, who, when the fight came, sought shelter, fiscal crumbs and strength at the feet of a Marxist despot. For that, they will wish that they be forgotten. May G-d forgive them, because America and history will not.
The Independent Sentinel: President Obama won, we have trillions in increased spending over the next several years with a promise of more taxes. Our Republican leaders are wimps who didn’t do what they said they would do.
Bookworm Room: Short answer: Republicans got rolled (again).
Long answer: Republicans can try to sell this as “giving the voters what they asked for.” Obama promised higher taxes and the Republicans yielded to that promise. They also protected as many people as possible by freezing as much of the Bush tax cut as Obama would allow.
The next thing is to do a big spending fight, with no backroom deals. Never enter into secret negotiations with a known liar. Also, since Obama is a mean fighter, it’s better to have that out in the public. The Republicans also should get a message and stick to it. The message is that Obama’s election meant people were open to a tax increase, but that the continued Republican majority in the House means that the American people wanted cost controls. Call out the Democrats on this one.
Oh, and my really short answer: Gag!
JoshuaPundit: I pretty much already said what I thought about this here.
As an aside. there were three unintentionally humorous parts to this fiasco.
The first part was the huge deal made out of the Fiscal Cliff by the media in terms of the relatively tiny amount of money involved as ‘revenues’ versus what the Federal Government is actually borrowing and spending. The second was the way an ObamaCare mandated decrease in fees paid to doctors seeing MediCare patients was ‘avoided’ by essentially fudging the math and figuring how to pay for it later… which is a joke you only get if you remember how Obama’s surrogates talked up the way ObamaCare was going to save money by doing exactly that. And the third knee slapper was our benighted president pounding his chest, crowing and taking credit for ‘his’ win when the actual work – if you can call it that – was done by VP Biden and Senate minority leader Mitch McConnell.
The actual formula the Republicans and the Administration signed amounts to $41 of new taxes for every $1 of spending cuts and I think we all know by now that even those spending cuts won’t ever be instituted unless they involve defense. They never have been, if you look at the history of this sort of thing since Democrat Speaker Tip O’Neill conned President Reagan into raising taxes back in 1982 in what was supposed to be $3 in spending cuts for every $1 in tax hikes.
It also struck me as pretty funny that neither the media or anyone else ever discussed all of the shiny new taxes mandated by ObamaCare that took most people by surprise when they got their first 2013 paychecks. These new taxes and the huge tax raise given to President Obama by the House Republicans amounts to another huge transfer of wealth, which is what the president has always been about anyway.
Expect more of the same, especially when it comes to the debt ceiling. Because much of the GOP leadership appears to be afraid of doing what they’re constitutionally mandated to do, control the purse strings.
Eventually, that cowardice is going to have to be paid for.
GrEaT sAtAn”S gIrLfRiEnD: Obsession with how this will effect Defense and defect Great Satan’s Global Hyperpuissance. Alliances cut in good faith – like Taiwan, SoKo and or Nippon are in jeopardy – not to mention understood understandingments with spiritual sisters like Little Satan.
There are many challenges and opportunities in the coming years. There are also opportunities for less benign nation states that do not value free trade, democratic imperatives or human rights to take advantage of a hollow American Force Projection ability and cause probs for eons.
Well, there you have it.
