FireAndreaMitchell.com: Cesar Conda, Marco Rubio’s Chief of Staff previously worked for George Soros. Conda recently made his Tweets private (protected) so the general public can’t read them. Cesar Conda has been pushing amnesty for illegals on Twitter and elsewhere as Marco Rubio’s PR agent. Conda, who is an immigration lawyer, went to work for George Soros before becoming Rubio’s Chief of Staff. Cesar Conda worked on the editorial advisory board of the George Soros magazine, The International Economy Magazine.
Cesar Conda had been spinning lies about the amnesty bill about how illegals wouldn’t get welfare, wait more than 10 years for citizenship, etc. Those lies have been completely debunked. So has the sham of border enforcement.
Another Rubio spokesperson, Alex Conant, recently compared illegal aliens living and working in this country to the institution of slavery.
So now you understand why Marco Rubio is so gung ho for amnesty. He surrounds himself with a George Soros monkey like Cesar Conda and other idiots like Alex Conant. Sad that Rubio is turning to be such a huge disappointment. At this point, he doesn’t seem much different than Charlie Christ and Rubio’s eligibility is also in question.
Even the left wing media is in love with Conda. Check out this gushing review of him by leftist biased National Journal:
Conda has one of the toughest jobs in town right now: He has to help Rubio negotiate an immigration bill with the rest of the Gang of Eight that will be palatable to Republicans and not damage his boss’s conservative credentials in the process. “That’s a tough circle to square, but I think Cesar is the right man for the job,” said Frank Sharry, founder and executive director of the pro-immigration reform group America’s Voice. “Rubio is really lucky to have Cesar Conda as his chief of staff.” Conda, known among colleagues for his even temper, has been working on the issue since the early 1990s when he was part of a group of young, libertarian-minded, pro-immigration conservatives. His government experience runs deep: He worked for former Sen. Spencer Abraham, R-Mich., and was an aide to Vice President Dick Cheney. He also spent time in the private sector as a lobbyist and analyst for the U.S. Chamber of Commerce and founded the Washington office of a consulting firm called Navigators Global.
The left must think of Cesar Conda as their Hispanic Obama or something.
After reading the above… it suddenly makes a lot of things much clearer… Ding, ding, ding… RINO ALERT or worse!!
On Friday, Rush Limbaugh spent a lot of time analyzing Obama’s speech to the students in Mexico City. That’s right, students of Mexico City. One of the aspects of his speech in Mexico to the students at the Anthropology Museum, was about Mexican sovereignty and American sovereignty and how we’ve pushed our sovereignty on them. He was talking about the fact that too many Mexicans still consider Southern California theirs, parts of New Mexico and Arizona theirs. He was agreeing with them (imitating Obama) “Well, I understand how you feel. We’ve pushed our sovereignty. We’re gonna change all this.”
Then on CBS Sunday Morning, their correspondent Mo Rocca did a report about the impact of the Mexican-American War on today’s debate on immigration reform. Mo Rocca is a comedian, but he is Dead Serious that greedy America stole half of Mexico in an unjust war and is peddling that message. I guess he became known to people on The Daily Show, but this is a straight news story and it’s aimed right at America’s low-information voters. He went to Mexico to explain the Mexican-American War and he made the case that the United States had no reason for the war, that we’re guilty. There was no reason for us to go conquer Mexico. There was no reason for us to shed blood. It’s fascinating. The low-information voters in this country, or as the former USSR propaganda paper, Pravda, called them… the Sheeple, are being conditioned to believe that California really is Mexico; that it’s not right that it’s America. And the same thing with New Mexico and parts of Arizona.
Add President Obama’s speeches to students in Mexico and on campuses throughout the US, where he tells them to ignore “Voices” Warning of Government Tyranny — and Join the Collective, to Rocca’s campaign and you have the making of an insurrection.
We are being maneuvered into a box by the leftist lemmings in the complicit U.S. media, the RINO’s and globalists in both parties, and the policies of the Obama White House who are manipulated by people like George Soros. The goal is a Progressive Democrat victory in the Senate and the House in 2014 and a maneuvered choice of globalist-agenda presidential candidates from both sides to take us to open borders. Big Government everywhere and a new economic world order. Marco Rubio, Jeb Bush and Hillary Clinton seem to the globalist frontrunners, at least at this time, for 2016 giving Americans no choice at all and giving America the final push into oblivion.
It is time to connect the dots and share what you learn with everyone you know. If there was ever a time to get involved and stand-up for freedom and sovereignty it is now… for it is almost too late.

Accuracy in Media
Bill Ayers’ claim that the Weather Underground bombed property, not people, in order to protest the Vietnam War, is two lies in one. First, they specialized in anti-personnel bombs using heavy metal staples. Second, Ayers and his wife Bernardine Dohrn were not opposed to the war, only to a U.S. victory.
As reported by Jim Mackinnon of the Akron Beacon Journal, Ayers maintained, during a speaking appearance, “No one died in the Weather Underground bombings.” He was trying to claim that the Weather Underground was different from the Islamic terrorists in the Boston bombings case.
Of all the media covering Ayers’ newest charges, only Fox News interviewed Larry Grathwohl, an FBI informant in the Weather Underground, who said “Ayers told him personally that fellow Weather Underground member and future wife Bernadine Dohrn set the bomb that killed San Francisco Park Police Sergeant Brian McDonnell in 1970.”
“Bill Ayers told me in Buffalo that we weren’t doing enough bombings and strategic sabotages,” Grathwohl told FoxNews.com. “He complained that it was a sad situation when [Dohrn] had to plan and place the bomb at the San Francisco Park Police station.”
The story went on: “Grathwohl said the bomb used in San Francisco, and the ones that killed the three Weather Underground members, when it exploded prematurely, were all packed with roofing nails and fence staples and designed to kill as many people as possible.”
Five years ago we began our campaign to tell the truth about the Weather Underground’s bombing campaign against police and civilians with our article, Tribune Covers for Obama’s Terrorist Friends, about the failure of the Chicago Tribune to report evidence that the Weather Underground planted the bomb that killed Sergeant McDonnell. This was during the 2008 presidential campaign when Obama tried to distance himself from Ayers and Dohrn, who had sponsored his political career.
Over the years we at AIM have reported these facts while the media continued to look the other way. Former FBI informant Larry Grathwohl has consistently testified about Bernardine Dohrn’s role in that bombing. His new and updated book, Bringing Down America, has that testimony. I confronted Dohrn about her reported role in planting the bomb that killed McDonnell. Our media ignore all of this.
On the claim about Ayers being opposed to the Vietnam War, Grathwohl notes, “The Weather Underground was not an anti-war group. They saw themselves as part of an international revolution with connections in Cuba, China and North Vietnam. They believed they were going to be part of a revolution that would cause the collapse of the United States. Plans for the creation of camps for ‘re-educating’ Americans—and the elimination of 25 million people—were discussed with the belief that protecting the NEW order from a counter-revolution justified wholesale murder.”
If Ayers was opposed to killing people, why were his fingerprints found in a bomb factory in San Francisco that included C-4, and stabbing weapons made to look like pens? Why did the Weather Underground kill police Sergeant Brian V. McDonnell? Why were Ayers’ comrades building anti-personnel bombs to be used at an officers’ dance at Fort Dix? They were the Weather Underground members who died in the bomb blast in a Greenwich Village townhouse, where they were constructing bombs.
Mark Rudd, another member of the Weather Underground, revealed in his book, Underground: My Life with SDS and the Weathermen, that he was in favor of planting that bomb, saying that he wanted “this country to have a taste of what it had been dishing out daily in Southeast Asia…” What the U.S. had been trying to do was prevent a Communist takeover of South Vietnam.
Ayers spouts his lies because he knows that he can get away with them. The media won’t report the truth because they know it would besmirch the reputation of President Obama, whose political career was launched in the Ayers/Dohrn home.
The sins of the press are bad enough. But then we have the Southern Poverty Law Center, which inspired the terrorist attack on the Family Research Council, portraying Ayers as a respected academic. This is a group that is used as an objective resource on “hate groups” by Eric Holder’s Department of Justice.
This is the problem we face today—the U.S. Government is run by associates of these terrorists and lunatics.
The FBI’s designation of one of the Weather Underground’s favorite criminal terrorist associates, fugitive cop-killer Joanne Chesimard, as one of the Most Wanted Terrorists, is a potential game-changer. Law enforcement can now investigate her support networks here in the U.S.
Joel Gilbert, director of the film, “Dreams from My Real Father,” says it is likely that Barack Obama, when he was a student at Columbia, attended meetings of the May 19 Communist Organization, a support group for the Weather Underground and the Black Liberation Army. Two of their members are still on another FBI wanted list. “I had one source who ID’d Obama as having attended May 19 public meetings,” he tells me. He adds that Obama, in his book, Dreams from My Father, describes attending several events in New York City (such as a Malcolm X movie screening) that are identical to documented May 19 events.
Obama’s Marxist background and connections are the story of a lifetime. It’s a story the media “forgot” to cover in their rush to make him President. But the whitewashing of Bill Ayers and Bernardine Dohrn is equally odious.
Yet, we see the same tendency in the failure of publications like Politico to even hint that there is anything wrong with going to work for Al Jazeera, the mouthpiece for the Muslim Brotherhood and al Qaeda. Politico’s Dylan Byers has served as a bulletin board for anything Al Jazeera feeds him, such as his “Al Jazeera is Hiring” story.
We have a media that will not or cannot recognize the nature of the terrorism that claims the lives of Americans here and abroad. It doesn’t seem to matter if the terrorists are communists or Islamists. And when the terrorism occurs, such as in Boston, CNN contributor Juliette Kayyem, a former Obama Administration official, balks at designating the Islamists in the case as Islamic terrorists.
Kayyem has now weighed in on the subject of the State Department apparently deciding to keep Cuba on its list of state sponsors of terrorism. “We ought to reserve that term for nations that actually use the apparatus of statehood to support targeting of U.S. interests and civilians,” she told the Los Angeles Times, in an effort to whitewash the Castro dictatorship and its support for terrorists like Chesimard.
The Times reporter, Carol J. Williams, also insisted Cuba was out of the terrorism business. She did not mention Chesimard, except for a reference to the Castro brothers giving “refuge to a few fugitive radicals from the Black Panthers…” Nothing was said about Chesimard murdering a New Jersey State Trooper and fleeing to Cuba with the help of the Weather Underground.
This is par for the course for a media that want to play down or distort threats to our safety and security.

Accuracy in Media
We have seen in the Boston bombings case how terrorists depend on a network of sympathizers. But the Russian connection remains a mystery. The press should follow up on the Russian angle to the Islamic terrorist bombers story before President Obama gets carried away with cooperating with Russian President Vladimir Putin. The assumption by the media that the former KGB officer is genuinely interested in helping the U.S. solve its Islamic terrorism problem should be subjected to scrutiny. After all, al-Qaeda leader Ayman al-Zawahiri has been identified by KGB defectors as a Russian agent. Former PLO chief Yasser Arafat and the international terrorist Carlos the Jackal, who converted to Islam and is in prison in France, were also identified as KGB agents. Putin doesn’t have clean hands in this dirty business.
The FBI’s addition of convicted cop-killer Joanne Chesimard, also known as Assata Shakur, to the “Most Wanted Terrorists List,” is an extraordinary development that reminds us of how the old Soviet client state of Cuba played a significant role in the Soviet-sponsored terrorist networks of the 1970s and 1980s. She killed New Jersey State Policeman Werner Foerster in 1973, escaped from prison in 1979, and fled to Cuba, with the help of the Cuban-backed Weather Underground. She has stayed there ever since.
At a news conference on Thursday, the FBI and New Jersey State Police said Chesimard, a member of the Black Liberation Army, is still associated with international terrorist networks from her base in Cuba, and that she has supporters and contacts in the U.S.
In a press release attacking the FBI, a group called the Center for Constitutional rights (CCR) asked, “Should the many who support Assata Shakur now expect to be targeted for providing her ‘material support?’” The question is a serious one. It is against the law to harbor a fugitive. In the United States, it is also against the law to provide material support to terrorists, with “material support” defined as including expert advice or assistance and communications equipment. This is why the CCR is concerned about her designation as a Most Wanted Terrorist. The CRR, funded by George Soros, is part of the “Hands off Assata Shakur!” movement which wants to protect Chesimard’s status as a fugitive cop-killer living in Communist Cuba. In effect, they are supporting a terrorist.
To understand how the law works, consider that Lynne Stewart was convicted of providing illegal support to a client, terrorist Sheik Omar Abdel Rahman, responsible for the bombing of the World Trade Center in 1993. She is now serving 10 years in prison. Her legal defense was underwritten in part by the Open Society Institute of George Soros.
Amy Goodman of the far-left “Democracy Now!” radio/TV show featured one of Chesimard’s lawyers, Lennox Hinds, and former Communist Party USA official Angela Davis, denouncing the FBI for adding Chesimard to the “Most Wanted Terrorists List.” Hinds expressed the fear that Chesimard could be snatched from Cuba and returned to the U.S.
Hinds, a professor of criminal justice at Rutgers University, is still an official of the International Association of Democratic Lawyers (IADL), the old Soviet front group. The Center for Constitutional Rights is an offshoot of the National Lawyers Guild, which was officially designated a Communist front and still remains an IADL affiliate. To show their solidarity with the Marxist terror networks that bombed police stations and killed police officers in the 1970s and 1980s, the CCR’s board and staff took out a full-page ad in a “commemorative solidarity booklet” distributed at a memorial service for the dead Communist terrorist Marilyn Buck. It described her as a “fierce warrior, human rights defender and fighter for justice.”
Buck was a member of the Weather Underground and the Black Liberation Army, which carried out a robbery of a Brinks truck in 1981 that killed two policemen and a security guard. Buck had been serving a prison term in California for her involvement in a long list of terrorist crimes. These included the Brinks heist and helping Chesimard escape from prison.
Bill Ayers and Bernardine Dohrn also paid tribute to Buck in the “commemorative solidarity booklet.” Several members of the Weather Underground and two Puerto Rican terrorists were at the service in person, paying tribute to their “comrade” and “sister.”
As I wrote at the time, praise for Buck was featured during the memorial service in the form of a recording of Chesimard that was broadcast and said to have been made in Havana. Chesimard said Buck had played a role in her “liberation” from prison. This means, of course, that supporters of Buck—and the organizers of this memorial service—know Chesimard’s whereabouts, or at least how to get in touch with her.
Hence, the “terrorist” designation for Chesimard is a development which has the potential to shed light on the “progressives” who supported the Marxist terrorism that racked the United States in the 1970s and 1980s. As the CCR press release indicates, these leftists are extremely upset that Chesimard has been designated a “terrorist” because it means that support for her activities in Cuba, where she has been granted political asylum, can be designated as criminal activity and investigated by the FBI. It also means they could be put under surveillance.
But such an investigation would be extremely sensitive politically. Just like Bill Ayers and Bernardine Dohrn of the communist terrorist Weather Underground became major political players who helped Barack Obama ascend to the U.S. Senate, and then the presidency, the supporters of such groups as the Weather Underground and the Black Liberation Army did not go away but instead became part of the modern-day progressive movement.
The FBI’s designation of Chesimard as a Most Wanted Terrorist and the doubling of the reward for her capture by the State of New Jersey “is a development that progressives should not ignore,” writes Joseph Lowndes at The Huffington Post, an outlet for far-left material. He says that “the legal and rhetorical framework of terrorism being used in this case strengthens the U.S. state’s ongoing and intensifying campaign to threaten, harass and detain not only Muslims and Arabs, but antiwar, and green activists.” Lowndes, an Associate Professor of Political Science at the University of Oregon, is apparently aware that members of the May 19th Communist Organization and various environmental and animal rights groups remain on the FBI “domestic terrorism” fugitives list. He goes on, “We should be asking Attorney General Eric Holder why $2 million is being put up in a 40 year-old case.”
Lowndes expresses the attitude of modern-day progressives and recognizes that the FBI decision to designate Chesimard as a “Most Wanted Terrorist” is a major development. The left is now counting on Holder, who helped arrange presidential pardons for terrorists, and approved Marilyn Buck’s early release from prison, to put obstacles in the way of Chesimard’s apprehension and return.
The FBI must stand its ground, resist any push-back from Holder, and follow the trail that leads to Chesimard and her backers.
In the U.S., the public can help by keeping their eyes open for the fugitive domestic terrorists whose names and photos are on another FBI list. They include Donna Joan Borup and Elizabeth Anna Duke, members of the May 19th Communist Organization; former New Left activist Leo Frederick Burt; and animal rights and “earth rights” activists Joseph Mahmoud Dibe and Josephine Sunshine Overaker.
It would also be helpful if the media publicize these names and faces.

Black Bloc Member – Reuters
Egypt’s Black Bloc grew out of their struggle for liberation from an authoritarian system, only after non-violent civil efforts had failed. Ironically, the U.S. Black Bloc and Egypt’s Black Bloc are on opposite sides of the political struggle – one, in the U.S., a friend to the Muslim Brotherhood and doubtless trying to gain prestige through their nominal association with international fighters; the other, in Egypt, an enemy to the Brotherhood, and fighting for democracy and legitimate government.
Clad in black, faceless in black ski masks, the nameless Black Bloc soldiers lock arms to create a human shield in defense of pro-freedom protesters — the Black Bloc’s number-one priority — in the streets and squares of Egypt. Expert in martial arts and ostensibly military-trained, Black Bloc warriors only recently surfaced in Egypt to safeguard fellow freedom-fighters from their arch-enemies, the foes of democracy: President Mohamed Morsi and his Muslim Brotherhood-Hamas militia.
Originating out of a plan to protect women protesters from sexual assault, this huge band of men and women numbering in the thousands (the exact number is not known) form a dedicated and determined corps of combatants divided into local groups of 30-50 individuals in Egypt’s communities. Self-described as “anti-Muslim-Brotherhood,” and generated out of disgust toward years of police and military brutality, the Black Bloc is, for modern Egypt, a completely new phenomenon.
As participants in this well-organized system for safety and preservation, the secret members of the “elite” Black Bloc guard first appeared in the streets of Cairo this January, when revolutionaries commemorated their two-year anniversary with protests in Tahrir Square. Now everywhere the Egyptian opposition stages protests, the rank-and-file Black Bloc, whose leaders remain unknown to them, dutifully move in to police the area on behalf of fellow protesters.
Deemed “terrorists” and “outlaws” by the Morsi regime, the shadowy Zorro-like heroes refer to their network as the “United Ghosts Revolution” and represent a just cause in the ongoing rebellion against Egypt’s Islamist government. The Black Bloc mission is to ensure that no more assaults, kidnappings, and torture occur from Morsi’s security forces [the Muslim Brotherhood militia] and so-called law enforcement, and that a “camel gazwa,” [invading crowds on galloping camels] as in the early days of the revolt, never takes place again. Many Black Bloc members carry firearms, most likely acquired through the illegal networks smuggling weapons from Libya and Gaza.
If the best defense is a good offense, the forceful Black Bloc has aggressively expanded its scope beyond the scene of gathered protesters and their protection. With a physical presence in more than eight cities across Egypt, the anonymous soldiers have claimed responsibility for ransacking at least eight separate Muslim Brotherhood Freedom and Justice Party offices.
At first, the shrouded Black Bloc raised the fears; the public saw them as terrorists. This wrong impression, however, was soon dispelled as their image as guardians took shape. Appearing first in the social media, the Black Bloc now has the moral support of more than 57,000 Facebook members for the purpose of countering Islamic supremacy and brutality.
Their core concern is to facilitate the pursuit of Western-style democracy. Its members claim no affiliation with existing political parties, as the group states that it “aims only to stand against the Muslim Brotherhood and any group exploiting religion to achieve political goals.” As pro-democracy secularists using slogans such as, “Our mess prevents chaos” and, “We are confusion that prevents confusion,” their challenge to the Muslim Brotherhood has prompted a new crackdown by President Morsi and his Prime Minister, Hasham Kandil. The state now targets opposition protesters who wear black, tracking those who do and conducting investigations. By mid-February, Morsi began arresting members of Black Bloc and its sympathizers.
Running under the banner of “Allah, Country, Revolution,” the “outlaws” have been accused by Islamists of having Israeli backing and connections to Western funding. Further, rumors charge them with burning the rear building of the scientific complex in Cairo, and of involvement in attacks upon city infrastructure, including damaging government buildings, paralyzing traffic, and obstructing subway transportation. The Black Bloc flatly denies participation in these crimes and blames the Muslim Brotherhood for tarnishing their image and credibility.
The group does fully admit, however, to targeting Brotherhood locations in the following Cairo incidents: burning the Muslim Brotherhood headquarters in the Sixth October area, storming the media offices of “Brothers Online,” torching the Freedom and Justice Party newspaper headquarters and targeting more than one Moomen[Believer] Brotherhood-owned restaurant.
In keeping with their mission statement, Egypt’s Black Bloc members claim they have nothing against state institutions per se, “but against control by a particular system, the supremacy of a certain group.” They further contend that “the best thing is to hit the existing system and its economy by sabotaging the system’s institutions and not ones belonging to the public.” Despite this, a U.S. “Black Bloc” attempts to connect its mission against America and governmental power structures to the cause of Egypt’s Black Bloc.
Egypt’s Black Bloc grew out of the chaos of President Morsi’s actions, which necessitated a course correction – such as the use of security, weaponry and attacks — for freedom-fighters in their struggle for liberation from an authoritarian system. Although tactics similar to the U.S. Black Bloc anarchists are used, Egypt’s fighters do not seek anarchism. Furthermore, the Shariah religious state is contrary to the western democratic state, and the roles of their respective revolts find their meaning and identity by way of the system they fight, not the tactics and strategies they use.
U.S. Black Bloc vandalism is class-warfare, a staple of the progressive political agenda of some in America who opportunistically seem to have intertwined themselves with Muslim Brotherhood goals. While actions by the U.S. Black Bloc ultimately favor the short-term goals of the Muslim Brotherhood, Egypt’s Black Bloc interrupts the Muslim Brotherhood’s power structure with material and moral losses. Ironically, the U.S. Black Bloc and Egypt’s Black Bloc are on opposite sides of the political struggle – the one in the U.S. a friend to the Muslim Brotherhood; the other, in Egypt, an enemy to the Brotherhood.
Nonetheless, the U.S. Black Bloc has appealed to Egypt’s Black Bloc in a Feb 9th open letter to initiate intercontinental dialogue. The naive U.S. Black Bloc views tactics and strategies on YouTube and mistakes them for “consensus” – then seeks the thrill of joining hands with Egyptians, and using these tactics as a more “generalized revolt.” They are hardly, as the letter suggests, fighting the same “stable power structure.” Egypt’s revolt reached the point of violence only after non-violent civil efforts failed and were no longer an option for achieving democracy.
The U.S. Black Bloc members, in advancing their “project of revolt,” are doubtless trying to gain prestige through their nominal association with international fighters, and probably see their dream being “enacted spontaneously” in a full-fledged, high-stakes revolt on the brink of civil war in Egypt. The Egyptian freedom-fighters, on the contrary, aim unequivocally for democracy and legitimate government. “We want to take the struggle out of the hands of political parties entirely,” states the U.S. Black Bloc; but Egypt’s Black Bloc struggles with the hope of the rise of new political leadership and a real democratic party.
The U.S. Black Bloc, according to its letter to Egypt, wishes to have the Muslim Brotherhood in governments around the world, to “clarify” the global power structure and then assert Black Bloc tactics uniformly worldwide to defeat the state. Egypt’s revolutionaries, fighting for freedom within the heart of political Islam, would not take any chance with such a sinister plan.

New Zeal
New York State is awash with socialist and Marxist politicians. The New York legislature and the NYC City Council is full of pro-communist and socialist elected officials, mostly Democrats, who do their level best to keep the state deep blue and retard social and economic progress at every opportunity.
Tom Duane, with comrades
One of the worst offenders is Tom Duane from New York’s 29th State Senatorial District, representing the Upper West Side, Chelsea, Hell’s Kitchen, Greenwich Village and parts of the East Side, including the East Village, Stuyvesant Town and Peter Cooper Village and Waterside Plaza.
Duane was first elected to the State Senate in 1998, he became the Senate’s first openly-gay and first openly HIV-positive member. Prior to his election to the State Senate, Duane served for seven years in the New York City Council. He is the Ranking Member of the Senate Committee on Health and is also a member of the Senate Codes; Children and Families, Cultural Affairs, Tourism, Parks & Recreation; Finance; Mental Health and Rules Committees.
Duane is a member of the Communist Party USA infiltrated Chelsea Reform Democratic Club and has worked closely with the Communists his entire political career.
On May 7, 1994, the New York State Communist Party held a fundraising banquet to honor three Party activists Ted Bassett, Rose Kryzak and Mary Gale. Almost $3,000 was contributed in honor of the three.
New York District Chair John Bachtell MCd the event. Communist Party leader Gus Hall was Keynote speaker while comrade Maria Ramos introduced the honorees. Dorothy Burnham reminisced about her work with Bassett. Etta Glaser spoke of helping to organize the 1963 March on Washington with Ted Bassett.
New York City Councilman Tom Duane was there. He told the People’s Weekly World – “I came to honor Mary Gale, to honor her activity in support of progressive causes. She’s one of my role models. I’m proud to have earned her vote.”
On May 31, 1998, the People’s Weekly World held a Paul Robeson birth centennial celebration in New York at the Henry Winston Auditorium to celebrate the life of one of the Communist Party’s most influential members.
Tom Duane authored a City Council proclamation praising Robeson’s lifelong fight for a “world at peace, free of racism, inequality and for unity… and his fight against the erosion of domestic freedom of expression and fanatical anti-communism… Paul Robeson has become a model and an inspiration to all of us…”
Duane also personally sponsored the event.
On November 4, 1999, New York State Assemblyman and long-time Communist Party supporter Richard Gottfried presented State Assembly citations to honorees, including Communist Party members Elizabeth Hall and Bobbie Rabinowitz.
Bobbie Rabinowitz
State Senator Tom Duane sent greetings to the event.
2000 PWW Award Luncheon
On October 22, 2000, the People’s Weekly World held its 4th annual celebration luncheon in New York at the Communist Party’s Henry Winston Auditorium.
Speakers included City Council member Bill Perkins, Assembly member Richard Gottfried, State Senator Tom Duane, Larry Moskowitz of the Communist Party and Working Families Party and Elena Mora for the Communist Party.
Communist Party members Elena Mora and Gabe Falsetta wrote a report for the People’s World of November 19, 2004, “Many positives in N.Y. elections,” commenting on the gains made by “progressive” candidates:
The big gains were at the state level. State Senate seats were won by some progressive Democrats:
Tom Duane, David Paterson, Eric Schneiderman, and Liz Kreuger, all of Manhattan, all retained their Senate seats.
When Estelle Katz, a member of both the Communist Party USA and the Chelsea Reform Democratic Club, died in November 2012, fellow club member Tom Duane said this of her:
Estelle was inspiration to me,… “She woke up every day believing the world could be a better place for everyone. I will miss her — and her determination, empathy and great sense of humor — tremendously.
Is Tom Duane a Communist pretending to be a Democrat or a Democrat who would rather be a Communist?
If he could get elected as an open Communist, would Duane continue his current charade?
Maybe someone should ask him.
