The War on Rich White Men

By: Lloyd Marcus

I heard a knock on the door of my hotel room. It was Donald. “Turn on Megyn Kelly. She is reporting about an MSNBC commentator’s claim that using the term “Obamacare” is the same as calling him the N word.” http://bit.ly/18QPu5V

MSNBC’s Melissa Harris Perry’s accusation is absurd. It is an obvious weak attempt to distance the president from Obamacare which is wreaking havoc in the lives of millions of Americans who are losing their health care.

What I found most disturbing and what I wish to focus on is Perry’s evil attempt to gin up hate against “wealthy white men” who she claims created the term “Obamacare” to demean and undermine the black president.

Due to the Obama Administration playing the race card to win every argument and silence opposition, America is polarized along racial lines. Perry’s false accusation is like throwing gasoline on the flames of national racial tensions; as irresponsible and cruel as screaming fire in a crowded auditorium.

Perry’s specific use of the term “wealthy white men” was insidiously strategic. Low info blacks in my family along with blacks across America will believe Perry’s nonsense to be the gospel truth. With the wave of black flash mob violence and the rising incidents of the racially motivated knockout game, the last thing we need as a nation is another black TV celeb promoting a racially charged false narrative.

Democrats and liberals like Perry have been promoting the same irresponsible, divisive and racist false narrative for decades. They claim that all evil in the world is the fault of racist, greedy, sexist and evil wealthy white men usually identified as conservative Republicans.

Perry’s rant is simply the latest blow to the chin of America’s white males by a liberal. Flash back to New York Times columnist, Maureen Dowd’s 2009 article titled, “White Man’s Last Stand.” Dowd’s article excoriated white men. http://bit.ly/1bsYmc5

Obama and company’s reelection strategy was centered around a shock-and-awe media blitz branding the Republican nominee, Mitt Romney as an evil super-wealthy racist white guy. http://bit.ly/1cz7noO

So, we get it. While political correctness is the unwritten law of the land, it is open season on trashing and targeting the American rich white male for destruction; even deemed morally correct and patriotic.

Who is out there giving rich white men props for their many positive contributions to society? Where are their advocates? I am sure with me being an American black man, liberals think it unconscionable that I would suggest such a thing; elevating me to “super” Uncle Tom status.

In 1895, Booker T. Washington formed a coalition of black leaders, politicians and white philanthropists (rich white guys), with a long-term goal to build the black community’s economic strength and pride by focusing on self-help, education and entrepreneurship. http://bit.ly/19fDhpF

Perry’s ridiculous claim that the term “Obamacare” is the new N word is laughable. The N word is defined as a contemptuous term for a black or dark-skinned person. Sadly, American rich white men are viewed with a similar contemptuousness; despised, kicked around and unfairly mistreated.

Bottom line, Ms Perry and the whole liberal machine pushing the war on rich white men should be ashamed of themselves. The left’s hate speech is ripe with negative consequences for the lives of real people; decent folks who simply worked hard, made good choices and achieved their American Dream.

Why should they be demonized in such a way as to inspire violence against them? It simply is not right.

Editorial: The Progressive Express Picks Up Speed in the Mitten State

By: Dick Manasseri
WatchDog Wire

With an assist from Michigan Republicans.

The breakneck speed of the runaway Progressive Express has been revved-up yet again by the Michigan Progressive Republican team of Huizenga-Walberg-Rogers-Miller-Camp-Upton-Benishek with their ‘Yes’ votes for the Ryan-Murray Spending Increase Budget.

Collectively, they are fueling the out-of-control federal government which, like a runaway locomotive, is thundering down the track of debt and lost liberty.

House Majority Leader John Boehner (R-OH) has taken the occasion of the latest budget vote to bash conservatives (e.g. Michigan House representatives Amash & Bentivolio, conservatives groups like Heritage Action, and the conservative grassroots throughout our state), leading Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid (D-NV) to characterize Boehner’s attacks as “a breath of fresh air.”

Conservatives and libertarians in Michigan are well aware of the animosity that the GOP establishment has for them. The $648,500 raised in the third quarter for David Trott to defeat the incumbent Kerry Bentivolio, who has a Heritage Action voting record of 83%, is a testament to the GOP’s fear of the Tea Party and liberty groups within the state.

Many grassroots conservatives in Michigan will be urging their state representatives to join legislatures from 33 other states to use the U.S. Constitution to call for a Convention of States to carefully fortify the Constitution so that it can stop the runaway Progressive Express “stone-cold-dead” in its track.

Why trust something this critical to Washington, D.C. and its big-government “gravy-train drivers” on both sides of the aisle?

Dick Manasseri, a resident of Rochester Hills, is a big fan of the US Constitution, doing whatever he can to preserve and protect it for his children and grandchildren.

Forum: Whom Would You Name For Person Of The Year?

The Watcher’s Forum

NoisyRoom.net Declares a Tie for Person of the Year: Ted Cruz and Allen West

Every week on Monday morning, the Council and our invited guests weigh in at the Watcher’s Forum with short takes on a major issue of the day, the culture or topics of daily life. This week’s question: Whom Would You Name For Person Of The Year?

Simply Jews: Vladimir Vladimirovich Putin. He proved several times during the year 2013 that he is a more astute and more consistent politician, loyal to his friends, disgusting as they may possibly be, than many other leaders, including Barack Hussein Obama.

Bookworm Room:

Leonidas of the year: Ted Cruz, because he took a principled stand when it was unpopular and politically dangerous to do so, and has since been proven right.

Stalwart fellow of the year: Bibi Netanyahu who, so far, is standing strong against Obama’s love-fest with Iran. (And let’s pray that he continues strong.)

Lying Liar of the year: Barack Obama, the hands-down winner.

Pop culture person of the year: Miley Cyrus, for showing just how debased our culture really is.

Anti-pop culture family of the year: The Robertson family, of Duck Dynasty fame, for proving that Americans are still drawn to old-fashioned values.

Global warming event of the year: And it’s a tie, between snowfall in Cairo and an arctic ice cap that has increased in size by 29%.

Party hack of the year: Another tie, this time between Kathleen Sebelius and Jay Carney.

Best Democrat line of the year: Hillary Clinton, when talking about four murdered Americans, defends herself by saying “What difference at this point does it make?” (And she gets extra credit for scrambled syntax.)

Media star of the year: Megan Kelly

Revolting media personality of the year: This one was a tough one, but it’s pretty clear that Martin Bashir, who was a last-minute contender, managed to sink to new depths when it came to revolting ad hominem attacks against a conservative personality.

Robert Averech from Seraphic Secret: Seraphic Secret’s Person of the Year is George Orwell.

Orwell’s dystopian novel, 1984, was published 64 years ago. For Americans, living under Obama, this prophetic novel is more relevant than ever before.

“1984” imagines a country called Airstrip One (formerly known as Great Britain) a province of a super state called Oceania. The country is under the control of a central party, guided by a quasi divine leader, known as Big Brother. The government justifies their oppressive rule in the name of the collective good. All individualism is crushed, and those who think independently are guilty of thoughtcrimes.

Orwell’s understood that those who control language control culture. Bend the meaning of simple words and concepts and you warp the mind, and ultimately control behavior.

Thus, the Ministry of Peace makes perpetual war. The Ministry of Plenty is responsible for starving the population. The Ministry of Love tortures prisoners. And the Ministry of Truth pumps out endless streams of propaganda.

Big Brother teaches that War Is Peace, Freedom Is Slavery, and Ignorance Is Strength.

The ruling party is constantly revising history to make it conform to their ever-shifting versions of the truth. And of course, there is an eternal scapegoat, Emmanuel Goldstein, the reviled public enemy who heads up the counter revolutionary forces of The Brotherhood, which may or may not exist.

Private contracts do not exist under Big Brother.

Big Brother makes the laws. And the laws mean whatever Big Brother says they mean at any given moment

Postmodern Liberalism is evolving into the Orwellian Big Brother state.

Barack Obama was packaged and sold as a cult leader. A radical leftist, Obama’s entire political education and career has been at the service of big and bigger government. For Obama and the Democrat party, the individual is merely a cog in the joyous machinery of the state.

Of course this conformity of thought is achieved through the use and abuse of language. If you disagree with Obama’s policies you are a racist. If you believe in the Judeo/Christian covenant of marriage between one man and one woman, you are homophobic. If you warn of the dangers posed by IslamoNazis you are an Islamophobe. And if you question the wisdom of granting non citizens all the rights of citizens you are xenophobic.

These liberal charges are classic Orwellian thoughtcrimes.

Obama and his administration tell lie upon lie to the American people: Fast and Furious, Benghazi, Obamacare. The swamp of lies and propaganda is thick and deep. To cover, Obama and his liberal followers, like Big Brother, furiously rewrite the past. A lie as blatant as “If you like your insurance, you can keep it, period.” has been revised to mean something that was never said, never intended.

Big Brother’s scapegoat, Emmanuel Goldstein, is alive and well under Obama. Orwell understood that anti-Semitism is an eternal hatred used by oppressive regimes to unite citizens who, might otherwise, become disaffected and unruly. For Obama, Goldstein is Israel. Does anyone doubt for a moment that Obama plans to neutralize the Jewish State by throwing in with nuclear IslamoNazis of Iran?

Under ObamaCare, private contracts have been dissolved by state intervention. And the very laws that Obama and the Democrats pass are as liquid as mercury. From day to day, just as Big Brother shifted the meanings of law and order, the Obama regime makes laws, revises and sometimes simply ignores the very same laws, all in the name of, ahem, social justice.

If a contract is not a contract, what is it?

If a law is not a law, what is it?

Answer: It is 1984.

In 1984, Winston Smith and Julia rebel against Big Brother by falling in love. In the end, after being mercilessly tortured, they betray one another.

“I betrayed you,” she said baldly.

“I betrayed you,” he said.

She gave him another quick look of dislike.

“Sometimes,” she said, “they threaten you with something – something you can’t stand up to, can’t even think about. And then you say, ‘Don’t do it to me, do it to somebody else, do it to so-and-so.’ And perhaps you might pretend, afterwards, that it was only a trick and that you just said it to make them stop and didn’t really mean it. But that isn’t true. At the time when it happens you do mean it. You think there’s no other way of saving yourself and you’re quite ready to save yourself that way. You want it to happen to the other person. You don’t give a damn what they suffer. All you care about is yourself.”

“All you care about is yourself,” he echoed.“And after that, you don’t feel the same toward the other person any longer.”

“No,” he said, “you don’t feel the same.”

This is the ultimate 1984 prophesy. When love becomes a weapon of the state. And this is our future. Unless America wakes up to the fact that the fiction of George Orwell’s 1984 is fast becoming reality.

GrEaT sAtAn”S gIrLfRiEnD: Kim Jong Un.

JoshuaPundit: There were several people I considered…Senator Ted Cruz, Rep. Darrell Issa, a few others. Instead, my pick for person of the year is The American Serviceman And Servicewoman, this year in particular.

Doing what they do is a demanding job at any time. But now, faced with a dysfunctional commander-in-chief who has proven time and again that he neither understands or appreciates what they do and that his intent is to politicize our military, faced with ridiculous rules of engagement in combat that endanger their lives, an emphasis on political correctness über alles, dealing with the hollowing out brought on by the sequester and threats of simply being released from the service without pension rights as well as cuts in pay and benefits…well, I imagine it is one of the most frustrating jobs imaginable, especially given that we have a volunteer force.

It isn’t much in the grand scheme of things, but they have my vote for Person of the year.

The Glittering Eye: Francis. For once Time got it right.

Francis isn’t saying anything that isn’t consistent with the Catholic social doctrine of the last century (or last millennium for that matter). However, his reminding people of what that doctrine is constitutes a good tonic not to mention good public relations for a church that has been embroiled in scandals.

Just as a reminder, that doctrine is that the Church is indifferent as to what political or economic strategy is adopted in caring for the poor. That could be free markets with private philanthropy or welfare state. It is not indifferent as to whether the poor should be cared for. Whatever our political views I think that we should agree that there’s a lot more that can and should be done.

David Gerstman from Le·gal In·sur·rec·tion: My person of the year is Barack Obama. He finally deserves it, G-d help us. Dr. Charles Krauthammer has written more than once that Obama is a transformational president set on undoing the Reagan revolution. With the Iran deal to complement the implementation of ObamaCare he has now reversed America’s course domestically and abroad. Obviously this is not a good thing. But it is a huge change historically.

Rhymes With Right: Person of the year? Well, I think that the choice made by Time magazine was eminently defensible. A new pope, especially first from the Americas and the first Jesuit — and one who marks a departure from over three decades of emphasis on doctrinal conservatism and who presents a more pastoral face is certainly of enough significance to be the Person of the Year.

But I’ll be honest — Pope Francis would not have been my choice. Neither would Ted Cruz, for all I like and admire my state’s junior Senator and the things he has done this year.

No, my choice would have been Edward Snowden. After all, here is a guy who perpetrated one of the biggest national security breaches in American history and got away with it — how could he not be the Person of the Year. Especially since he eluded the grasp of the United States, made his way to a historic enemy nation and received asylum, and now appears to be on the verge of receiving amnesty from the Obama Administration in return for returning remaining material rather than disclosing it to the public. He has torn off the mask and shown the United States to be a hollow superpower.

The other possible choice? The Healthcare.Gov website. After all, it may be the thing that finally brings down Barack Obama as it exposes that ObamaCare does the sort of harm to the American people that we would go to war over if it were perpetrated by a foreign government rather than our own. Unfortunately, the extent of that harm is not yet known, so that choice is not yet ripe.

The Independent Sentinel: Ted Cruz is my choice because he is one of the few people in DC who is doing what the voters in his district sent him to do. Another reason is he is one of the few who was right about Obamacare. Congress doesn’t have our backs.

The Right Planet: I would have to name Senator Ted Cruz (R-TX) as Person of the Year. Love him or hate him, a recent Rasmussen poll listed Cruz as the third most influential person in the world behind Pope Francis and President Barack Obama. Not bad for a “wacko bird,” huh!

Well, there you have it.

Make sure to tune in every Monday for the Watcher’s Forum. And remember, every Wednesday, the Council has its weekly contest with the members nominating two posts each, one written by themselves and one written by someone from outside the group for consideration by the whole Council. The votes are cast by the Council and the results are posted on Friday morning.

It’s a weekly magazine of some of the best stuff written in the blogosphere and you won’t want to miss it.

Morning Action: The Senate Will Work on Budget, Defense Authorization Bills

By: Katherine Rosario
The Forge

BUDGET. The Senate is working to pass the Ryan-Murray budget this week, which Majority Leader Sen. Harry Reid (D-NV) 9% hopes to get to President Obama by the week’s end. This budget deal is very flawed policy and is comprised of a $63 billion spending increase over the next two years. We have identified the top policy reasons to oppose the Ryan-Murray budget and explained elsewhere how its passage would reduce fiscal leverage points to limit government:

According to the Washington Post, “After more than two years of constant crisis, the emerging agreement amounts to little more than a cease fire. Republicans and Democrats are abandoning their debt-reduction goals, laying down arms and, for the moment, trying to avoid another…standoff.” In short, this agreement is an effort to limit the number of fiscal standoffs over the next two years. Each of these standoffs have led to sustained public attention on the $17 trillion national debt and a seemingly bipartisan inability to get the country’s fiscal house in order.

DEFENSE. The Senate is also expected to consider the defense authorization bill, and it is expected to pass this week. The Heritage Foundation explains the importance of the National Defense Authorization Act (NDAA) and its passage:

Congress exercises its Constitutional responsibility to “provide for the common defense” by passing key pieces of legislation: the annual defense appropriations bill…and the NDAA, which sets forth the policies that guide how that money is spent. The NDAA also provides direction and guidance on a host of Pentagon activities.… Congress has not passed a budget in years. The NDAA is all that is left. Now it looks like Sen. Reid is willing to let the NDAA die on his watch.

OBAMACARE NAVIGATORS. The House Oversight and Government Reform Committee is expected to release a report Monday indicating Obamacare “navigators,” people responsible for helping consumers enroll for Obamacare, are not required to undergo background checks. Obamacare navigators have already given consumers faulty information and have encouraged consumers to commit tax fraud:

Navigators have been giving enrollees misinformation, the documents indicate, according to the Breitbart report. The documents also suggest navigators have also put consumers’ health, social security numbers, yearly income and other tax information at risk.

“Documents call into question the effectiveness of the Navigator program and the Obama administration’s ability to safeguard consumer information,” the committee report concluded.

Some ObamaCare navigators, the report says, “encouraged consumers to commit tax fraud by underreporting income in order to qualify for ObamaCare’s health insurance subsidies.”

UNINSURED. The Heritage Foundation explains the steps necessary to help the uninsured:

Level the playing field. People who aren’t offered health insurance through their workplaces deserve to be treated the same as those who do get coverage at work.

To fix this, Heritage has suggested a tax credit or tax deduction that would be the same for everyone. This would help offset the cost of insurance, making it more affordable.

Get coverage and keep it. Many people become uninsured because they lose a job or change jobs. Heritage proposes making insurance policies more personal—so that you can keep your policy, even if you change jobs. That way, your policy stays with you, even in an uncertain economy.

These two ideas would bring vast improvements over the health insurance market we have known. And they would go a long way toward helping people afford—and keep—health coverage.

CHRISTMAS. The Heritage Foundation has designed conservative Christmas cards with quotes from Heritage President Jim DeMint, Ronald Reagan, and Lady Thatcher.

IRS Targeting Now ‘Reverse-Engineered’ to Isolate, Shut Down TEA Party: Clintons See Limitless Future

By: Maggie Thornton
Maggie’s Notebook

Remember the faux Obama outrage when the Lois Lerner, IRS targeting scandal broke? He stood at his privileged podium, said he knew nothing about it, said it was “outrageous,” and “if in fact IRS personnel engaged in the kind of practices that have been reported on and were intentionally targeting conservative groups, then that’s outrageous and there’s no place for it…I have no patience for it and will not tolerate it,” said The Won. As we’ve seen in the past, he has now doubled down and new “clarifying rules” are actually new restrictions on conservatives while giving unions and other Liberal organizations even sweeter breaks.

In the media blackout of Thanksgiving week, the Treasury Department dumped a new proposal to govern the political activity of 501(c)(4) groups. The administration claims this rule is needed to clarify confusing tax laws. Hardly. The rule is the IRS’s new targeting program—only this time systematic, more effective, and with the force of law.

That this rule was meant to crack down on the White House’s political opponents was never in doubt. What is new is the growing concern by House Ways and Means Committee investigators that the regulation was reverse-engineered—designed to isolate and shut down the same tea party groups victimized in the first targeting round. Treasury appears to have combed through those tea party applications, compiled all the groups’ main activities, and then restricted those activities in the new rule…

Here’s how it works. To get or keep tax-exempt status, 501(c)(4) organizations must devote a majority of their work to their “primary” social-welfare purpose. Most tea party groups were set up with a primary purpose of educating Americans on pressing problems—the size of government, the erosion of the Constitution—and did so mainly via nonpartisan voter guides, speakers forums, pamphlets or voter-registration drives.

What the proposed Treasury/IRS regulation would do is to re-categorize all these efforts as “political activity”—thereby making it all but impossible for tea party groups to qualify for 501(c)(4) status. Say an outfit’s primary purpose is educating voters on our unsustainable debt, which it does mainly with a guide explaining the problem and politicians’ voting records. Under the new rule, that guide is now “political activity” (rather than “social welfare”), which likely loses the group tax-exempt status. Source: Kim Strassel, WSJ

Please read Strassel’s article linked above to understand how the great advantage has been given to unions and other Liberal, Progressive, Obama proponents which are doing the same thing TEA parties do.

We are reaching a point of no return, or perhaps have already reached it. Obama was “outraged” enough to call-out another pack of dogs against his opponents. Alinsky would be proud. I’m betting Bill Clinton’s jaw is on the floor a good part of every day as he watches Obama operate in unthinkable ways. He can’t wait to get Hillary in the Oval Office because Bill and Hill have been schooled. They know the possibilities are limitless. He surely sees another presidency for himself in the future. With the IRS on the side of Liberalism, Progressives are unstoppable.

Asking for Prayer, Blogger Jim Hoft – Gateway Pundit Loses Health Insurance, Receives Soul-Ugly Leftist Email

By: Maggie Thornton
Maggie’s Notebook

If you read conservative blogs, you know Jim Hoft at Gateway Pundit. If you are far Left, Progressive and/or voted for Barack Obama, you know Jim’s work and find it necessary to take large doses of chalky tablets to cure your indigestion. Jim has had a tragic three months, been close to death and by virtue of ObamaCare has lost his health insurance and perhaps the doctors who recently saved his life. He is facing more surgeries in the coming months. A few days after Jim asked his readers for prayer and quoted Psalm 143: 1, 2, and 8 he received the message below the photo via email (language alert, there’s no way I can add a few asterisks to spare you):

Jim Hoft with Dr. Richard Lee

Jim thought he had a cold. Three days later he learned it was a strep bacteria that had eaten a hole in his heart the size of a dime, caused five strokes on both sides of his brain, and stole the vision in his left eye. St. Louis doctors saved his life. He had a prosthetic knee which had to be removed. He is still in a wheelchair. Now ObamaCare (Affordable Care ACT) has stolen his health care.

“I get this notification that I’m going to lose my insurance,” he said. “This insurance that I bought, that I purchased, and I was paying a good premium, (and) covered most everything.”

Hoft, who is still in a wheelchair, said he has a number of “major surgeries” in the near future and was “very pleased” with his insurance of choice.

“So to get this news on top of my recovery, on top of trying to make a living, has been obviously a very difficult thing to take on at this time,” he said, the emotion clear in his voice.

Hoft has written about Health and Human Services Secretary Kathleen Sebelius’ assertion that people who have lost their insurance are “thrilled” with the options they have available to them, and on Friday he repeated his message that she can “go to hell” because that is “absolutely not true.” Read more here.

Continued at The Blaze TV with Dana Loesch hosting:

“I don’t have the options I had,” Hoft told Loesch. “I pray to God that I get the same doctors, who saved my life three months ago. I pray that I’ll be able to see them.”

Thankfully, Hoft said, there are already “laws on the books” ensuring that someone in his condition doesn’t “get kicked off” their health insurance mid-treatment, but his health complications are not short-term.

Lord, hear my prayer,
listen to my cry for mercy;
in your faithfulness and righteousness
come to my relief.
Let the morning bring me word of your unfailing love,
for I have put my trust in you.

Psalm 143 – Verses 1,2,8

Read Jim’s original request for prayer here. God bless you, your family and your doctors, Jim. Prayers are winging.

UPDATE: The Lonely Conservative has details on the fools at Little Green Footballs and their reaction to Jim’s plight. Read it here.
