The Oprah-rization of America

By: Lloyd Marcus

Feelings, nothing more than feelings. Trying to forget my feelings of love…” Okay folks, I’ll stop singing.

Is it just me or have you noticed that feelings now trump common sense and rational reasoned thinking in America today? Feelings have become more important than national security, our economy, the lives of our troops and even public health when you observe the politically correct way our government is dealing with this Ebola thing. It is insane.

I am not blaming Oprah, but I saw this trend towards everything-being-about-feelings beginning decades ago when the Oprah Winfrey show became the hottest thing on national daytime TV. Has our culture become too feminized?

Before I continue, allow me to admit an embarrassing personal quirk. When I am passionately talking about an issue, I sometimes struggle to hold back tears. Encountering honorable things such as love, courage and goodness also tend to cause me to well up. Every time this happens during a radio or TV interview, I feel humiliated. I ask myself, “Lloyd Marcus what in the world is wrong with you?”

My mom was a very compassionate and emotional person. As her first born, I wonder if I inherited something from her. I rationalize my quirk with the knowledge that Jesus wept for his people. So, I am in good company.

Having said that, I am appalled by the emotion-driven touchy-feely brain-dead metro-sexual idiocy that is running the show in America today. Apparently, somehow I missed the national memo banning testosterone and common sense.

Dad taught my three younger brothers and me to take pride in being men; always try to do the right thing, stand up for what you believe, nobody owes you anything, protect and respect women. Dad instructed, “When you take a girl out on a date it is your responsibility to return her home safely.” That is being a real man.

In our new wimpy America, manhood is no loner celebrated. Respecting women now includes asking a girl’s permission before kissing her. Folks, biology dictates that most women like confidence in their men. Wimpy liberal dudes and hardcore radical feminists do not go nuts and misinterpret my point. I am NOT saying that women like overly aggressive jerks.

All I am saying is that I would not have witnessed the same swooning reaction from my mom to the movie scene in which Burt Lancaster kissed Deborah Kerr on the beach had Lancaster asked permission before kissing her. http://bit.ly/1rLpQFn

America’s obsession with taking a kinder, gentler, careful not to offend or hurt anyone’s feelings approach to everything is out of control.

A few examples…

Guilt feelings over America’s sin of slavery have lead author and Ebola expert David Quammen to suggest that we risk Ebola getting into our country rather than blocking flights from Liberia. So this fool cavalierly advocates putting millions of Americans at risk of contracting Ebola as payback for slavery. This is insanity, folks. http://bit.ly/1CKvUD5

As a child, I remember my grandmother was sent away (quarantined) for over a year because she had tuberculosis. Should my family have raised a stupid emotion driven stink saying there they go again, locking way (enslaving) a black woman? Quarantining my grandmother was the right thing to do; common sense.

Then, there is the disturbing way feelings has been allowed to reign supreme in Ferguson. Cops were instructed, do not come across too aggressive and let the angry looters wreak havoc freely for a night or two. Despite the police super sensitive nuanced response, Ferguson is still a war zone.

Allow me to propose a radical and controversial concept. How about the Ferguson police locking up everyone who breaks the law? I am concerned that feelings, rather than the facts, may factor in the fate of officer Wilson who shot Michael Brown.

A Democrat Missouri state senator said if officer Wilson is not indicted, then the current rioting “will seem like a picnic”. http://bit.ly/1vHoP32 Isn’t such a threat outrageously irresponsible and inflammatory coming from a public official? Oh I forgot, the senator is black and Democrat, so he gets a pass. Never-mind.

Generals are frustrated that we are fighting ISIS with one arm tied behind our back because our Commander-in-Chief feels it would be unfair and mean to unleash the full power of the U.S. Military in defeating our enemies. http://dailym.ai/1oIofg Such half measures ultimately lead to higher numbers of U.S. troops dying. Its all about feelings folks.

In keeping with the Obama administration’s pattern of using every governmental agency at its disposal to overrule the Constitution, punish its enemies and bully Americans, the FCC is considering a petition to ban the name “Redskins” from being used over the airwaves. Can you believe that folks? Remarkably, Democrats believe being sensitive to the feelings of those who are obsessed with political correctness is worthy of killing the First Amendment. http://bit.ly/1n4LJAM

Everywhere you turn, Constitutional rights, the law and freedom of speech are being overruled by a hypersensitivity to hurting someone’s feelings. Liberals tell us that public expressions of patriotism and wearing a t-shirt displaying an American flag to a California school on Cinco de Mayo is mean because it hurts the feelings of illegals. Don’t you just want to yell, “This is my country! Get over it!” http://bit.ly/1rVRWz7

I know what you are thinking. What about your feelings as a hardworking, law abiding, flag waving, tax paying, play by the rules U.S. citizen? As far as Obama, Hollywood, the MSM and assorted other liberals are concerned, your feelings do not count. Period.

Feelings, woo-o-o feelings…woo-o-o feelings, again in my arms.”

As many of you know, I have spent more than two decades advocating for an end to the IRS, and the income tax systems at both the federal and state levels. Unfair: Exposing the IRS documents the unconscionable Obama Administration abuses of the powerful governmental instrument we call the Internal Revenue Service.

The first step in overcoming tyranny is knowledge.

Every American needs to see this movie!

Please do what you can to help get the word out. If every patriotic American who receives this message will pass it along to everyone on their email list and in their social networks, we can send a powerful message to the country.

Thank you, and may God bless the USA, and our posterity, with an IRS-free future.

Dallas County Ebola press conference

From my friend Jean:

I saw the press conference. They blocked of 4 city blocks around the patient’s apartment.

They described all the precautions they took around the complex (apartment) – handing out flyers and knocking on all doors.

The doctor seemed nervous and evasive.

2nd Ebola patient in Texas was wearing protective gear.

On this press conference – note the guy who tells the doctor that he has to go is a CDC guy.

They did not want the doctor to reveal any more information. They are monitoring 48 people (this wasn’t mentioned in my last message). Also they have taken the ER at Texas Presbyterian and made it into an Ebola ER and mentioned the plural of patient – as in “patients”.

This will not end well and Obama should be on the hot seat for not banning flights – heck for even bringing those workers from Africa in the first place.

One of the best things to stop ebola is quarantine – that would also mean to quarantine it in Africa.

So much is being discussed on forums about method of transmission and without a single source like the CDC used to be to hand out truth – we are screwed. Nobody knows the real danger, the real info that would help.

This is due to a lack in trust of gov’t and someone at the top caused that lack of trust.

Texas health care worker with Ebola wore protective gear, followed CDC guidelines: officials

From Pix11:

DALLAS (PIX11/AP) — Health officials say a health care worker at Texas Health Presbyterian Hospital who provided care for the Ebola patient hospitalized there has tested positive for Ebola in a preliminary test.

The patient, who has not been publicly identified, was wearing protective gear and following Centers for Disease Control protective measures, Dr. Daniel Varga said at a Sunday morning press conference. The health care worker has been self-monitoring at home for two days and has not returned to work.

Varga also revealed that Texas health officials are currently monitoring 18 other employees.

A statement posted on the Texas Department of State Health Service’s website Sunday says “confirmatory testing will be conducted by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention in Atlanta.”

Officials say the health care worker reported a low grade fever Friday night and was isolated and referred for testing. Preliminary test results were received late Saturday.

Dr. David Lakey, commissioner of the Texas Department of State Health Services, says officials have “been preparing for this possibility.”

Health officials have interviewed the patient and are identifying any contacts or potential exposures.

Thomas Eric Duncan, the first person diagnosed with Ebola in the U.S., died Wednesday in Dallas. Varga confirmed that the health care worker helped treat Duncan during his second trip to the hospital.

A Political Warrior Rises In Oklahoma

John Bennett, former US Marine & Oklahoma State Rep.

See a larger image here…

My fellow Stop Qatar Now! Coalition member, Frank Gaffney, and my favorite Oklahoma politician, House Rep. John Bennett, will be holding a virtual town meeting tomorrow at 7:30 pm on The Tragedy in Moore: A Religion of Peace? Bennett’s Counterterrorism Caucus colleague Rep. Dan Fisher is also co-hosting the event. The esteemed Clare Lopez will also be in attendance, as will be Paul Blair, a nationally acclaimed speaker on Islam and the Constitution. You can bet, I will be attending (virtually of course) with bells on and with full, rapt attention.

Thank the heavens there are some who actually have a spine out there. Bennett is fearlessly speaking the truth — the truth that those of us who have read the Quran know… Islam is a violent, broken philosophy and we are at war with radical Islam. A war we dare not lose. Bennett is an anti-Islam crusader and there are many of us now. Our voices will not be silenced any longer. Screw political correctness. The event features fellow members of the organized counterjihad movement. We have been fighting this fight since 9/11 and before. Did they think we would give up and walk away? No way!

The usual hate mongers are going nuts over this: CAIR, SPLC and the Leftists out there are calling Bennett and company loons, racists, Islampaphobes and haters. I call them warriors and truthful. They stand and say what others fear to say, regardless of threats, smears and the very real possibility of violence in retaliation.

In the wake of the beheading of an innocent white, Christian grandmother in Oklahoma last month, the media did their best to sweep Alton Nolen’s violent Jihad under the Persian rug as workplace violence. Are you serious? All of America knows this was a terrorist act and Nolen followed the tenets of Islam and the Quran. At the time, I was dismayed I did not hear a concerted voice from Oklahomans in rage over this. The President didn’t even comment on it — I take that back, he sent a congratulatory note and a proxy representative to Nolen’s mosque commending them for their work. Can you believe it?

But the Oklahoma GOP Chair did respond:

We plan to continue to educate the public about the very real threat that terrorists present to the U.S.,” Bennett said about the meeting.

So, giddy up… the truth is coming and about damned time. Time for patriots across America to find their intestinal fortitude and step forward as Bennett and others are doing. Enough of this murderous, sick crap.

From Bare Naked Islam (another member of the Stop Qatar Now! Coalition):

In a press release last week, Bennett laid out his plans to host an event to find out “Who are these people and why are they doing these terrible things to us?” This rhetoric is welcome considering Bennett has previously warned his constituents be “wary” of Muslim Americans.

This also is not the first time Bennett has associated with Gaffney and his ilk. Last year, Bennett, via his informal House Counterterrorism Caucus, sponsored a law enforcement training seminar that featured Gaffney, Lopez, and Jerry Boykin, a retired Lt. Gen. who argues the practice of Islam should not be protected under the First Amendment.

A taste of the coming revelations:

And from my favorite pastor, Paul Blair — Peace? Or Pieces? Everything You Need To Know About Islam:

A political warrior rises in Oklahoma with an army of patriots who are shouting the truth to America. Listen in Monday and join us.
