November 17 Washington, D.C. news conference on Edward Snowden’s KGB Connections

For immediate release
Cliff Kincaid
[email protected]
443-964-8208

“It is no accident that the Russian invasion of Ukraine, the rise of ISIS, and more cyber-attacks from China have followed Edward Snowden’s defection to Russia through China,” says Cliff Kincaid, president of the public policy group America’s Survival, Inc. (ASI). A veteran journalist and media critic, Kincaid has announced that ASI will hold a National Press Club news conference on November 17 to examine the disclosures that have put America and its allies in danger of further Russian aggression, Islamic terrorism, and Chinese cyber-warfare. The event is open to the press and public.

Kincaid said ASI’s scheduled publication of Blood on His Hands: The True Story of Edward Snowden, will be intended to counteract the Oliver Stone and “James Bond” movies being planned about the former NSA analyst. A comic book has also been released about Snowden, in order to make him popular with kids. Just recently, the Koch-funded libertarian group Students for Liberty gave Snowden its “highest honor” — its “alumnus of the year” award.

Martin Edwin Andersen, the first national security whistleblower to be given the U.S. Office of Special Counsel’s “Public Servant Award,” will also participate in the news conference. Andersen has written that Snowden is not a legitimate whistleblower and that he illegally “leaked massive amounts of national security information” and then fled to Russia, a police state where “real whistleblowers and investigative journalists alike are under continuous threat.” Andersen has worked as an assistant professor of national security affairs at the National Defense University and a lecturer at the U.S. Naval Academy.

“When NSA analysts William Martin and Bernon Mitchell defected to Russia in 1960,” Kincaid said, “President Eisenhower labeled them as traitors and former President Harry Truman said they should be shot. In Snowden’s case, President Obama called him a mere ‘hacker,’ and Attorney General Eric Holder wrote to the Russians promising that Snowden wouldn’t be given the death penalty if he returned home. Espionage is not something to be treated lightly, as this administration has done.”

The new Congress, Kincaid said, should hold immediate hearings into the damage being done by Snowden, his Russian and Chinese protectors, and the Obama Administration’s nonchalance toward the on-going damage to U.S. national security.

Copies of ASI’s new book, Back from the Dead: The Return of the Evil Empire, will be available to all news conference attendees. The book includes information on the Russian-terrorist connection, evidence of Russian infiltration of Western governments, and ASI’s protests of the “Pulitzer Prizes for Espionage” when journalism awards were given to Snowden’s media collaborators at Columbia University.

In addition to helping Russia, China, and ISIS, Kincaid said Snowden’s disclosures have been designed to undermine the U.S.-Israeli intelligence-sharing relationship and make the Jewish state more vulnerable to terrorist attacks. He said Snowden’s disclosures have also undermined the ability of the U.S. to monitor a nuclear deal with Iran, if Obama pursues one.

A special statement on the Edward Snowden espionage affair by Lt. Gen. Ion Mihai Pacepa, the highest-ranking official ever to have defected from the former Soviet bloc, will also be released.

The news conference is open to the press and the public and will be held on November 17 at 1:00 p.m. in the Zenger room of the National Press Club, 529 14th St. NW, 13th Floor, Washington, DC 20045.

Jonathan Gruber Calls Supreme Court Justices Stupid

By: T F Stern
T F Stern’s Rantings

jgruber1This past week we were treated to a revelation of sorts as a  video surfaced with Jonathan Gruber mentioning how easy it was to hide critical issues from the public in order to pass a monstrous piece of legislation; we’re just too stupid to figure it out.  Gruber was the architect who put together the Affordable Care act, more popularly called, Obamacare.

“Lack of transparency is a huge political advantage,” says the MIT economist who helped write Obamacare. “And basically, call it the stupidity of the American voter or whatever, but basically that was really, really critical for the thing to pass.”

The Supreme Court ruled in favor of (Obamacare) back in 2012, a ruling which expanded the Federal government’s role and powers.  The accumulated wisdom and knowledge of our judicial system, nine black robed demi-gods, came to the conclusion:

“The Affordable Care Act’s requirement that certain individuals pay a financial penalty for not obtaining health insurance may reasonably be characterized as a tax,” Chief Justice Roberts wrote in the majority opinion. “Because the Constitution permits such a tax, it is not our role to forbid it, or to pass upon its wisdom or fairness.”

Gruber is correct, at least to a certain extent, nothing else explains how the American public elected Obama, not just once but a second time.  Nothing else explains how the same liars and thieves continue to be elected to Congress and the Senate.

Long after Obamacare passed and was imposed on us by the President and Democrats who rallied their wagons around Obama’s most important piece of legislation, not one Republican voted for it; we found that all these loyal Democrats knew all along that Obamacare was a lie, that it wouldn’t do much of what was promised.

“In what should be considered a shameful admission, Democrat Senator Kirsten Gillibrand admitted on ABC’s This Week that all democrats knew that Obama was lying when he fraudulently repeated over 30 times that, “If you like your insurance plan, you can keep it, period.” When asked by host guest host, Martha Raddatz, if Gillibrand felt misled by Obama’s promise to Americans of being able to keep their current health insurance plan, Gillibrand responded, “He should have just been more specific. No, we all knew.”’

jgruber2Over two thousand pages of deceptions and hidden agenda items… and the highest court in the land focused their attention on an obscure loophole which permits the imposition of a tax…amazing, what more can you say than amazing!  The American people were lied to and all the Supreme Court justices can say, “Hey, it’s a tax, that’s what governments do; get over it”, or something to that effect.

There was an address given by Gene Nichol to members of the military, Conference on Strategic Deception in Modern Democracies, in which an interesting fact regarding our Executive Branch of government was brought out; the President can lie and get away with it.  While the topic that day had to do with military decisions it applies equally to all other aspects of the presidency; keep that in mind.

“First of all, there is no constitutional principle that says that the President of the United States or the Executive Branch must tell the truth. I teach constitutional law. If there such a principle existed, then surely the Nixon and Clinton administrations would have filled my case book! Yet they do not. Nor was there any constitutional cause of action when President Eisenhower was caught dissembling about the U2 flights.  Constitutional law does little to restrict strategic deception, whether we are talking of deception perpetrated in order to protect the country or deception carried out in order to support a war effort.”

I have no issue with the Commander in Chief of our armed forces protecting America’s interests by deceiving our enemies, leading them down the proverbial ‘garden path’ in order to safeguard national interests.  That said, it would appear that the President’s administration, the Democratically controlled Senate and the Supreme Court now consider the American public as the enemy; why else would they be united in their deception of the public?

The Supreme Court is supposed to be part of the checks and balance, a means of stopping questionable legislation from escaping the tyrannical grasps of either the legislative or executive branches of government.  They’re supposed to safeguard the public from legislation which runs contrary to individual liberties; yea, that’s really working out well.

It has become painfully clear that the ‘Men in Black’, as they are often referred to, have lost sight of their purpose.  They’re too busy checking the jot’s and tittles while missing the elephant in the living room.

If Congress passed a law saying, “We be taking you money to pay for prostitutes getting free health care”, it wouldn’t surprise me if the Supreme Court came back and said, “We are in favor of it in spite of the law being grammatically challenged”.

Jonathan Gruber may be lacking in integrity or character; but he did get it right, American’s are just too stupid to recognize they are being lied to by those who are supposed to be representing their interest; that includes the Supreme Court.

Ignoring Communism’s Crimes Against Humanity

By: Brent Parrish
The Right Planet

There’s a good piece up at RedState.com entitled “If I Were Complicit with Mass Murder, I’d Want to Rewrite History, Too” by Leon H. Wolf. I recommend giving it a good read. I always try and link to well-written articles on the subject matter of communist crimes against humanity.

Leon Wolf’s article asks a somber question I’ve been asking for a long time: why does the left ignore and gloss over the horrific crimes against humanity committed by communist and socialist regimes in the 20th Century? Are they blind to history? Is it a willful ignorance or just inexcusable historical illiteracy? Does the political left condone industrial-scale mass murder and the total squelching of the individual? If they do not condone the innumerable horrors and terrors visited upon hapless citizens unfortunate enough to live under the merciless fist of communistic regimes, then why do so many on the left so ardently and steadfastly embrace Marxian socialism and its insipid anti-human ideology … the very ideology that provided the entire foundation for such crimes to take place in the first place? Such questions demand an answer, as far as I’m concerned.

Wolf points out how, once again, the New York Times is attempting to rewrite the horrid history of global communism, and the left’s long history of supporting it, and lay the blame for communism’s excesses and crimes elsewhere.

Here’s a slice from the NYT article:

As we commemorate the 25th anniversary of the fall of the Berlin Wall, one of the momentous events of the last century, the left continues its transparent and embarrassing attempt to rewrite their complicity with communist totalitarianism out of history, and attempting to erase Ronald Reagan’s role in its defeat. The latest attempt, by the New York Times, not only seeks to erase Reagan’s credit but also to lay the blame for the most recent Iraq misadventure at his feet…

Oh, imagine that. Once again, the New York Times attempts to whitewash well-documented history in favor of all things Marxist. The New York Times has long shilled for communists and their despotic regimes.

This is something I’ve seen and heard from the left my whole life. No matter how many times socialism/communism has failed they keep wanting to repeat the insanity. The excuses are always the same: if only we had more money … if only we had the right people … if only, if only, if only. No matter how many people suffer and die, it just doesn’t seem to make a difference. In the end, many on the left still believe Marxian socialism is a “noble ideal worth fighting for.”

I don’t know about you, but I call that insanity … criminal insanity.

In 1962, Ronald Reagan narrated a documentary entitled “Only the Brave Are Free,” which mentions the well-known New York Times reporter and editorialist, Herbert Matthews, who wrote glowingly about the “Reds” during the Spanish Civil War (1936-1939).

“By far and away the most important part of the foreign aid sought by the communists was the falsification of their true ‘red’ identity by the forces behind the republic at that time. This camouflage was to be achieved by infiltrating and–or–deceiving the news media throughout the world. From the USA, Ernest Hemingway and John Dos Passos came to write, and Herbert Matthews of the New York Times. This was the same Matthews who would say 15 years later, still with the powerful Times, he ‘could see no red in Mao Tse Tung’–then dictator of communist China. And it was the same Matthews who 25 years later would publish front-page articles claiming Castro to be the ‘George Washington of Cuba.’”

One of the more damning timelines documenting the New York Times sympathetic support for communists over the past several decades is laid out in chapter two of Alan Stang’s book It’s Very Simple: The True Story of Civil Rights. The survey by Stang of the Times’ long history of denying communist movements were, in fact, communist movements in places like China, Cuba, Algeria, Ghana, Kenya, Indonesia, Puerto Rico and Canada raises disturbing questions about the New York Times’ editorial agenda.

Castro claims, “We are not communists.” Months later he says he is a communist.

In regard to the Times’ dismal track record of honestly reporting the despotic nature of communist regimes, Stang wrote:

Let us draw some reasonable conclusions. It is not the purpose of this chapter or book to make an investigation or file an indictment of the New York Times. So let’s say here only the most moderate thing we can say, which is that a trapeze artist, an employee or a doctor who made such a series of mistakes would long since be either dead, unemployed or locked up for criminal negligence.

All we should say, in short, is that there is something very peculiar going on up at the New York Times.

It has long been my unapologetic opinion that what happened to Senator Joseph McCarthy was one of the worst smear jobs in history. And it appears history is proving McCarthy right, especially following the declassification of the Venona decrypts in 1995. The infiltration by communists into the highest offices in the land—in particular, the State Department and Treasury—is astonishing and breathtaking in its scope. The subversive activities by communists and their fellow travelers within the U.S. government was far worse than anything I could have ever imagined, even though I have long believed the infiltration was substantial, despite the left’s attempt to paint anyone of my opinion as “paranoid and delusional.” So, it was good to read the following in Leon H. Wolf’s article regarding the oppressive and brutal history of global communism:

The American Left’s reaction to all of this was almost uniformly to either actively aid the Communist cause or to – in their inimitable style which continues today with respect to Islamic terrorism – naively deny the existence of any danger to America at all. Decoded cables have revealed conclusively that the American government – in particular during Democrat administrations – was infested with communist spies, to the point that one of the primary United States representatives to the Yalta Conference where the United States shamefully doomed Eastern Europe to communist domination was a since convicted communist spy, Alger Hiss (a point which liberals to this day bizarrely refuse to concede). Democrats were decidedly less concerned with either the infestation of the government with communist spies or the expansion of communism itself than they were with the personal life or rhetorical tone of Joseph McCarthy, who (in their narrative) menaced the entire country from his lofty perch as a Senator from Wisconsin.

One of the common tactics used by leftists against those who do not wholeheartedly support collectivism is to paint their opponents as “mentally deranged.” Anyone warning about the inherent dangers that exist in socialistic and communistic systems are often dismissed as merely engaging in “wild charges” and simple “fear-mongering.” As Alan Stang describes it, “these people were either ignored, denounced, pitied or urged to report for immediate psychiatric treatment….”

Sound familiar? Yeah, some things never change, despite all that “hope and change” stuff.

There’s only one point of contention I have with Leon Wolf’s article—the often cited claim “Ronald Reagan defeated communism.” Now, let me be very clear here. There has been no other U.S. president who understood Marxist ideology and communist history better than Ronald Reagan, in my opinion. There is no doubt Reagan put the hurt on the old Soviet Union. Ronald Reagan battled Marxists in Hollywood; he had firsthand knowledge, and understood their strategy and tactics. This is one of the reasons why I believe Reagan was so successful as president: he knew the enemy.

But I don’t even think Ronald Reagan would say he singlehandedly defeated global communism. I find such claims hyperbolic at best. And this is by no means a stab against Reagan or the people who make the claim. And, in Leon Wolf’s defense, I am not saying he personally believes Reagan defeated communism on his own.

Let’s just look at reality as it stands now.

The most populous nation on earth, China, is still ruled by communists. Cuba is still a communist country. Vietnam is still a communist country. North Korea is still a communist country. Laos is still a communist country. But it doesn’t end there. Brazil recently elected a communist revolutionary as president, Dilma Rouseff. Both Africa and South America are chock full of Marxist regimes. The situation in Ukraine often times reveals communist sympathies on both sides of the conflict.

Former Soviet dissident, Vladimir Bukovsky, refers to the European Union (EU) as a “pale version of the Soviet Union.” Until recently, the Kurdish Workers’ Party (PKK) flag featured the hammer and sickle (now replaced with a red star or rising sun symbol).

My point is communism is still alive and well; and its aims are still the same—worldwide domination. Whether or not a nation officially proclaims itself “communist” is not the question, in my mind. The question is, does the nation in question embrace Marxist-Leninist ideology? The religion of Marxism-Leninism operates under numerous banners and “lovable labels.”

Trevor Loudon writes:

Glasnost and Perestroika were merely components of a long term strategy to deny the West an enemy (communism), in the hope of dissolving the Western Alliance. Once NATO was destroyed, or thoroughly compromised, the plan was for Russia to ally with a heavily infiltrated Germany to dominate Europe. Russia would ally with China and the always communist and neo-communist countries of Asia, Africa and Latin America, to achieve total world domination.

[…]

Russia is on the march in Europe, her ally China is on the rise in the East, most of Africa is under Chinese domination and most of Latin America is led by Marxists. And the United States has a pro-communist president.

Other than that, the security situation looks fine.

I’m afraid the “defeat of communism” is still a work in progress, to put it mildly. But it sure is good to see more and more people waking up to the abysmal track record of global communism, and the left’s dismissive and minimizing attitude about it all—which tells me everything I need to know about the “left.” I just hope and pray it is not too late for the world as a whole.

Weasel Of The Week Nominations!! – 11/11/14

The Watcher’s Council

https://c1.staticflickr.com/1/89/256833910_dc5e794df2.jpg

Hello and welcome to the Watcher’s Council’s ‘Weasel Of The Week’ nominations, where we award the famed golden plastic Weasel to a public figure who particularly deserves to be slimed and mocked for his or her dastardly deeds during the week. Every Tuesday morning, tune in for the Weasel of the Week nominations and check back Thursday to see which Weasel gets the votes and walks off with the statuette of shame!

Here are this weeks’ nominees…

America’s Mainline Pollsters!!

Virginia Right: I am going to nominate the Pollsters who badly misled America either intentionally out of a desire to make the election appear more favorable to Democrats, or out of utter incompetence.

I wrote several posts on the horrible skew going on in the polls this election. Some pollsters were sampling Democrats in larger numbers than the 2012 elections showed. And at the same time, voter enthusiasm for the Democrat candidates was low and the sale question for Republicans was high.

And while it did no good in the end, a Republican slaughter was in the cards, the close races probably helped Democrats raise money and get out the vote.

Something is rotten in Poll-land.

Obama Campaign Stooge Turned State Department Spokesmouth Jen Psaki!!

JoshuaPundit: There are weasels and then there are WEASELS. To my mind Jen Psaki deserves special singling out for being a willing spear point in what is increasingly becoming the Obama regime’s campaign to demonize and discredit Israel.

Last Week, U.S. Chief of Staff General Martin Donovan made a speech that went pretty far off the Obama Regime’s reservation. He not only praised the IDF for their efforts to avoid civilian casualties, saying that Israel had gone to “extraordinary lengths” in Gaza, but revealed that the U.S. Armed Forces had sent a delegation to learn about the IDF’s policies to help Americans to improve their own record in wartime.

This directly contradicted the State Department and the White House, whose stated position was to attack Israel at every opportunity for not doing enough to avoid civilian casualties.

Aside from discounting what General Dempsey had to say, Psaki doubled down on the State department and White House views that Israel was guilty of failing to prevent civilian casualties in Gaza. Her exchange with the AP’s Matt Lee has to be read to be believed.

She then described two terrorist assaults that murdered two Israelis as “unfortunately a couple of events” and believe it or not, that “both parties take every possible measure to protect civilians and de-escalate tensions.”

‘Protect civilians???’

“And of course, we urge all parties to exercise restraint.”

A reporter asked her, “If you’re standing at a bus stop or something and someone runs a car into you or comes up and stabs you, I don’t know how – I mean, those people aren’t – don’t need to exercise restraint, do they?”

Her reply? “I think I’m referring to the fact that we know that there have been – there’s been rising tensions in the region that has led to some of these incidents. I think we all are aware of that.”

Yes, it’s her job. But there are limits in what most people with any decency will do for money …unless they’re true believers. Ms. Psaki obviously is one and is thus enabling what I’d call more than the usual level of evil.

GOP Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell!!

The Noisy Room: Mitch McConnell for first saying before the election last week that he would use the power of the purse to stop Amnesty if Republicans won the Senate. Then one day after the election, handing the power of the purse to Obama by saying there would be no government shutdowns on the table.

Before:

Asked about the prospect of the president granting work permits via an executive order, he said “I think it’s a bad mistake…if the American people do change the Senate and give the Republicans control of the Congress, we certainly are, through the spending process, going to try to restrain the overactive bureaucracy that’s been attacking virtually every business in America and is the reason for this slow growth, and we intend to push back against executive orders that we think aren’t warranted by trying to control the amount of money that is allocated.” And “we’re going to do what we can in Congress to try to restrain activities that we think are a mistake, and I certainly think a whole lot of unilateral executive branch-only actions in the immigration field is a mistake.”

And after:

“Mitch McConnell held a press conference today, at the University of Louisville, and he said, gratuitously, almost, we’re not going to shut down the government. We’re not going to endanger the national debt situation.”

McConnell is indeed an uber-weasel who has betrayed the Tea Party by vowing to crush them and by claiming Ted Cruz is a one man army. He also betrayed the American people by compromising with the Marxist Left. He’s earned the weasel award for being for Amnesty before being conveniently against Amnesty at election time.

Vice President Joe Biden!!

Nice Deb: I’m going to nominate our Vice President Joey “Choo Choo” Biden for attempting to smooth over the Obama administration’s shocking and insulting treatment of the Israeli Prime Minister by insulting his great buddy, “Bibi”, anew with a ridiculous backhanded “compliment.”

“You better damn well report to Bibi that we’re still buddies,” Biden said at the top of his remarks, speaking specifically to Israeli ambassador Ron Dermer, who was in the audience. (“Bibi” is a nickname for Netanyahu.)

“I signed a picture for Bibi a long time ago—I have a bad habit of, no one ever doubts I mean what I say, sometimes I say all that I mean, though—and I signed a picture a long time for Bibi,” Biden continued. “He’s been a friend for over 30 years. I said ‘Bibi I don’t agree with a damn thing you say but I love you.’”

Obamacare Architect (they had an architect???) Jonathan Gruber!!

The Right Planet: Obamacare architect Jonathan Gruber, who bragged about deceiving the American people in order to get Obamacare passed. According to Mr. Gruber, Americans are just too stupid to know what’s good for them. Fortunately, for us, we have “experts” like Mr. Gruber to help save us from ourselves. That’s why the ends justifies the means, according to Mr. Gruber, et al. I guess the “most transparent administration in history” ain’t so transparent after all. Huh. Imagine that. Go figure. ALL HAIL THE EXPERT!

The Independent Sentinel: My choice for Weasel of the Week for lying about Obamacare and counting on a lack of transparency and the stupidity of the American people to pass it.

“This bill was written in a tortured way to make sure CBO did not score the mandate as taxes. If CBO scored the mandate as taxes, the bill dies. Okay, so it’s written to do that. In terms of risk rated subsidies, if you had a law which said that healthy people are going to pay in – you made explicit healthy people pay in and sick people get money, it would not have passed… Lack of transparency is a huge political advantage. And basically, call it the stupidity of the American voter or whatever, but basically that was really really critical for the thing to pass… Look, I wish Mark was right that we could make it all transparent, but I’d rather have this law than not.”

Well, there it is! Are these worthy weasels or what? Check back Thursday to see which Weasel walks off with the statuette of shame!

Make sure to tune in every Monday for the Watcher’s Forum.

And remember, every Wednesday, the Council has its weekly contest with the members nominating two posts each, one written by themselves and one written by someone from outside the group for consideration by the whole Council. The votes are cast by the Council and the results are posted on Friday morning.

It’s a weekly magazine of some of the best stuff written in the blogosphere and you won’t want to miss it… or any of the other fantabulous Watcher’s Council content.

And don’t forget to like us on Facebook and follow us on Twitter… ’cause we’re cool like that, y’know?
