“None Dare Call It Treason” Author John Stormer

John A. Stormer, author of the seven-million copy best seller, None Dare Call It Treason, is our guest on America’s Survival TV. His 1964 book is the most successful in the history of conservative journalism and is still relevant today. John Stormer’s book had a dramatic impact on Ronald Reagan personally and the movement that later elected him as president. The title of John Stormer’s first book came from the famous John Harington quotation: “Treason doth never prosper: what’s the reason? Why, if it prosper, none dare call it treason.”

The amazing story behind the Christmas classic, ‘It’s a Wonderful Life’

The beloved holiday classic “It’s a Wonderful Life” was released in 1946. Despite it’s popularity today, it did not fare well at the box office, and it was given poor reviews by cynical movie critics at the time.

Jimmy Stewart said that out of all the movies he had made, “It’s a Wonderful Life” was his favorite. The Director, Frank Capra described the film’s theme as “the individual’s belief in himself” and that he made it “to combat a modern trend toward atheism.”

But in the case of “It’s a Wonderful Life,” something magical happened almost 30 years after the movie was released. Because of a “clerical error” in 1974, the film’s copyright was mistakenly not renewed. Television stations were able to air the film at no cost.

So they did, and Americans fell in love.

The mainstream media’s disdain for anything wholesome and family oriented is not a new phenomenon. One critic decried the “sentimentality” of the movie.

Bosley Crowther from the New York Times concluded,

“the weakness of this picture, from this reviewer’s point of view, is the sentimentality of its illusory concept of life. Mr. Capra’s nice people are charming, his small town is a quite beguiling place and his pattern for solving problems is most optimistic and facile. But somehow they all resemble theatrical attitudes rather than average realities.”

In 1947, film critic Manny Farber wrote,

“To make his points [Capra] always takes an easy, simple-minded path that doesn’t give much credit to the intelligence of the audience”, and adds that there are only a “few unsentimental moments here and there.”

In a 2010 ”Salon.com” piece, Richard Cohen described ”It’s a Wonderful Life” as “the most terrifying Hollywood film ever made“; in the “Pottersville” sequence, he wrote, George is not “seeing the world that would exist had he never been born“, but rather “the world as it does exist, in his time and also in our own.

Ah, the cynical critics have not changed. How many other potential classics were squashed?

Of the newfound success of the film, Frank Capra said,

“It’s the damnedest thing I’ve ever seen.”

U.S. Attorney: ISIS attempts to recruit Ferguson protesters (Video)

The Islamic State, or ISIS, has been attempting to reach out to Ferguson supporters who hate America as confirmed by U.S. Attorney in Southern District of Illinois, Steve Wigginton, who said “ISIS wants people who hate the U.S. government as much they do.”

While the report from KDSK confirms this type of social media recruiting, the Washington Post, as well as the conspiracy-themed site Infowars reported on this trend almost a month ago.

KDSK quoted Wigginton as saying,

“They are trying to reach the people who are anti government to begin with. We have a number of those individuals in the U.S., whether they are sovereign citizens, whether they are anarchists, they all showed up at one point or another in the St. Louis area in the last few months.”

One of the so-called sovereign citizens was Olajuwon Ali, who, along with Brandon Baldwin (a.k.a. Brandon Muhammad) hatched a scheme to kill St. Louis County Prosecuting Attorney Robert McCulloch and Ferguson Police Chief Tom Jackson. Additionally, the pair planned to bomb the Gateway Arch” but “could not afford to do it until one suspect’s girlfriend’s Electronic Benefit Transfer card was replenished,” as reported at BroadsideNews.

Wigginton added,

“We received intelligence reports for law enforcement showing actual tweets ISIS was putting out encouraging Americans to join the people who were burning down buildings in Ferguson to engage that kind of conduct across America.”

ISIS has been using the hashtag #Ferguson, among others, to recruit members.

This actually happened during a live CNN report:

Here are some more of the creepy tweets.

The Watcher’s Council

Once again, It’s time to present this week’s statuette of shame, The Golden Weasel!!

Every Tuesday, the Council nominates some of the slimiest, most despicable characters in public life for some deed of evil, cowardice or corruption they’ve performed. Then we vote to single out one particular Weasel for special mention, to whom we award the statuette of shame, our special, 100% plastic Golden Weasel. This week’s nominees were all despicable, but the votes are in and we have our winner… the envelope please…

New York City’s Kommissar Bill de Blasio!!

The Noisy Room: Mayor Bill de Blasio for his faux sorrow and commiseration after the shooting of the two cops in New York this weekend.

After throwing the NYPD under the bus over Garner and dissing the attack on cops a week ago by seven protesters, he comes out and dares to show his face at the press conference for the execution style murders of two officers in New York yesterday. At the end of which, he broke into crappy Spanish. The police union has called for him to be barred from all police funerals for turning his back on the NYPD.

Turn about is fair play… the officers turned their backs on de Blasio at his press conference. When he showed up at the hospital where the two deceased cops were, with family, friends and comrades grieving, he tried to say he was one of them and was told by at least one officer he was not welcome or one of them and was told to leave. With all that blue blood on his hands, de Blasio should just resign and slink away. He’s a cowardly weasel that has brought Marxism, violence and murder to New York.

————————

Ah yes, Mayor Bill De Blasio, an excellent example of what it looks like when the inmates take over the asylum. Even the stupidest, meanest banana republic dictator usually knows enough to remember to keep on the good side of the people keeping civil order, protecting him and his family and keeping the regime in power. Even the mayor’s old commie buddies the Sandinistas understood that much …but not Mayor de Blasio!

It takes real talent to be that stupid. I mean, the local stores complain about some ne’er do well with a huge rap sheet peddling illegal smokes and taking away their business, the cops come and tell him to leave, he refuses, he resists arrest and dies from a heart attack. A grand jury looks at the evidence, finds that the police did nothing wrong. And not only does the mayor side with the rioters against his own police force, he throws gasoline on the fire, perhaps even to the point of getting a couple of them killed. He even smirks in public about having what he and other racialists and cop-haters have called ‘the conversation’ about the dangers of ‘racist police’ with his own bi-racial son… the same kid who goes nowhere without a NYPD security blanket composed of police prepared to risk their lives to save his child!

There’s stupid and then there’s pathetic. So Mayor de Blasio richly deserves his Golden Weasel.

Let’s have a nice hand for a couple of members of the NYPD’s union, The Patrolman’s Benevolent Association, who were nice enough to come down to pick up the mayor’s award for him, and not only that, they plan to customize it with some decorations, tributes and engraving of their own before they deliver it to his office!

Is that nice or what?

Well, there it is.

Check back next Tuesday to see who next week’s nominees for Weasel of the Week are!

Make sure to tune in every Monday for the Watcher’s Forum and remember, every Wednesday, the Council has its weekly contest with the members nominating two posts each, one written by themselves and one written by someone from outside the group for consideration by the whole Council. The votes are cast by the Council and the results are posted on Friday morning.

It’s a weekly magazine of some of the best stuff written in the blogosphere and you won’t want to miss it… or any of the other fantabulous Watcher’s Council content.

Merry Christmas from All of Us at NoisyRoom.net!

Hat Tip: Nelson Abdullah

For unto us a child is born, unto us a son is given: and the government shall be upon his shoulder: and his name shall be called Wonderful, Counsellor, The mighty God, The everlasting Father, The Prince of Peace. – Isaiah 9:6

Christmas is our season of joy, our celebration of what the gospel of John describes as a Light who came into the world to dispel darkness – Christ Jesus. “I am the Way, the Truth and the Life, and none come to the Father but through me.” – John 14:6

Christians mark many Biblical proofs given to us that, by our Heavenly Father’s infinite mercy and grace, the Light triumphs over darkness – Jesus surviving the slaughter of the innocents, the many miracles of His earthly ministry, and definitively His sacrificial Passion and triumphal Resurrection! We know through faith the Light of the world ultimately vanquishes all evil.

With the miraculous grace of Christ’s birth, life and sacrifice on the Cross, our eternal glory in heaven is redeemed in His blood. We need only belong to our Lord, and we share infinite victory over the bonds of death. Christmas joyously reminds us that the sacred gift of life – both human and eternal – is the priceless favor of a loving Creator, ineffably more precious than gold, frankincense, and myrrh. In Christmas rests our hope of salvation from all the woes of the world.

I pray for you and yours a blessed Christmastide that, beyond festivity, hears the angels’ song:

“for unto you is born this day in the city of David a Saviour, which is Christ the Lord.” – Luke 2:11

Merry Christmas and Happy New Year,
