Trump vs Cruz Feud and Handyman Irv

By: Lloyd Marcus

Ted Cruz Congress

The MSM eagerly anticipated Cruz responding to Trump bringing up the issue of Cruz’s eligibility to be president. http://bit.ly/1IRfQqD The MSM hoped Trump’s comments would launch a war of words between the two GOP front-runners. To the MSM’s chagrin, Ted Cruz wisely did not respond to Trump’s remarks. The MSM loves to get GOP contenders at each others throats rather than informing voters of Hillary’s and Obama’s moral, cultural and unconstitutional crimes against Americans.

The MSM hoped a Cruz vs Trump feud would spark talk radio to trash Trump, thus knocking Trump from atop most polling hills. I pray talk radio does not begin trashing Trump. While Cruz is my guy for president, I refuse to trash Trump. As a matter of fact, I am extremely grateful to Trump. Trump has played a huge role in freeing up the tongues of GOP presidential contenders.

Obama, Democrats and the MSM urinate on us daily while telling us it’s only rain and is good for us. I was among those angry, frustrated and hurt Americans who wanted to metaphorically slap the arrogance off the faces of Obama’s Democrat and MSM operatives. Unapologetic, Trump repeatedly slapped them. Americans of all stripes cheered; winning Trump massive instantaneous, enthusiastic and loyal supporters. Clearly, there’s a new sheriff in political town and his name is Donald Trump.

The MSM would have you believe that if racist, sexist, rich dude, Trump is the nominee, Hillary is a shoe in winner of the WH. Hogwash! Polls show that support for Trump crosses all demographics. I witnessed the Trump phenomenon on display in my politically clueless longtime amateur handyman Irv who is shockingly excited about Trump running the country.

Irv is a scruffy looking white guy in his late 40’s; a self-taught electrician and mechanic. Irv lives with his welfare mom and sister in a drug and crime infested neighborhood. Irv worships Obama for giving him a free phone and for caring about the little guy. Irv loves Obama for taking from evil selfish rich people to give to needy people like him.

I know. I know. Irv sounds like a political idiot. However, I like him. You can imagine my surprise witnessing Irv bubbly with excitement about Trump making America great again. Irv has always struck me as someone who does not giving a rat’s derriere about his country. I thought Irv only cared about government freebies. “Trump is gonna clean this mess up!” said Irv. This told me Trump has birthed something truly magical in the 2016 race for the WH.

Ironically, Trump has even paved the way for Ted Cruz. Ted Cruz has been fearless and steadfast in his efforts to defend, preserve and restore freedom and liberty. Both the MSM and GOP establishment, to an extent, successfully branded Cruz a bit extreme in the arena of professional political decorum.

Trump’s non-conventional, no-holds-barred, common man and straight talk brand of politicking suddenly makes Cruz appear not so radical. Cruz’s polling continues to rise, even beating Hillary. http://bit.ly/1RwMz5K

Displaying class, character and wisdom, Cruz’s rise has everything to do with substance; who he is and what he intends to do day one as president. http://nws.mx/1THIuuE Cruz has risen high in the polls without playing the MSM’s (Democrat operatives) game of “Trash Your Fellow Republicans.”

As much as I like Trump and would enthusiastically vote for him if he wins the nomination, Ted Cruz trumps Trump on substance, conservative credentials and presidential gravitas. Folks, when that 3am phone call comes, I want Ted Cruz answering it. When the Left wants to jail another Christian for not embracing sodomy, I trust President Cruz to say this ain’t gonna happen on my watch. http://bit.ly/1O24ShH With all due respect, Trump sided with those who threw Kim Davis into jail. http://bit.ly/1RvrvfO

Realizing I sound like a broken record repeating myself. The crucial question in selecting our presidential nominee is who can we trust to remain true to conservatism when elected? Politicians will say whatever they think you want to hear to secure your vote.

As teenagers, my cousin and I were discussing girls while walking home from a Baltimore yaka-mein joint. He said, “Just tell them you love them.” I replied, “I can’t say that.” He looked at me like I was an idiot. But, I digress.

Ted Cruz’s list of confrontations with freedom grabbers; Obama, Democrats, GOP establishment and the MSM confirms we can trust him seated in the big chair in the Oval Office.

Fearful of Hillary, some Christians and conservatives believe Trump is our only hope for winning the WH. Consequently, they are bashing Cruz, calling him a wolf in sheep’s clothing; even claiming that Cruz is not conservative. Well for crying out loud, please tell me the GOP contenders who are more conservative than Cruz? Trump is certainly not among them.

Also, I think it is unwise to embrace the Left’s language and tactics to attack our candidates; portraying Cruz as the devil.

It turned me off big-time when GOP contenders began saying “amen” to the Left’s accusation that Trump is a racist for simply stating truth and common sense regarding securing our border. GOP contenders feeding into the Left’s bogus narratives is selfish, shortsighted and a betrayal of our party and the American people. Shameful.

Let’s put Ted Cruz in the White House folks. https://www.tedcruz.org/

Benghazi Cover-up Challenged by New Film, More Hearings

By: Roger Aronoff
Accuracy in Media

One major aspect of the Benghazi cover-up has been to denounce the words of witnesses in favor of higher officials’ assertions. This is true not only for those CIA contractors who responded to the attacks, but also for the families of the victims.

In a recent interview with The Conway Daily Sun of New Hampshire, journalist Tom McLaughlin asked Hillary Clinton who, from among the attendees at the Andrews Air Force Base “transfer of remains ceremony,” was lying. He was referring to the family members of the four Americans killed during the terrorist attacks in Benghazi on September 11 and 12, 2012. Mrs. Clinton responded, “Not me, that’s all I can tell you.”

“Not, ‘no one is lying,’” criticized Megyn Kelley of Fox News in a segment with members of the CIA’s Global Response Staff, the quick-reaction force whose story is the basis of the book that inspired this month’s forthcoming film, 13 Hours: The Secret Soldiers of Benghazi. “Not, ‘let’s not impugn anyone’s motives here,’” added Kelly. “Not, ‘I reject the premise of your question.’”

Given that she has lied about virtually every aspect of Benghazi and her private email server, reporters ought to approach Mrs. Clinton’s claims with skepticism. Instead, The Washington Post continues to avoid calling Hillary Clinton on her lies even within its own Fact-Checker columns.

In October, Post Fact-Checker Glenn Kessler assigned two Pinocchios to presidential candidate Marco Rubio (R-FL) for calling Mrs. Clinton a liar for blaming the attacks on a YouTube video while simultaneously telling her daughter, Chelsea, the Egyptian prime minister, and Libya’s president that it was a terrorist attack.

“She certainly spoke about the video, but always in the context of the protests that were occurring across the Middle East,” wrote Kessler in October. In his latest fact check on January 4th, Kessler refused to assign blame to any party at all. The truth, he argues, cannot be found in the dispute between the families of the deceased and Mrs. Clinton.

“Perhaps it all started with a comment made by Rice (who two days later would famously go on national television and make a direct link between the video and the attack, thus spoiling her chance to become secretary of state),” writes Kessler. “Perhaps the question of who said what at what moment got jumbled over time. Or perhaps Clinton mentioned the video privately to just two people—and not to others.”

“Clearly we cannot come to a resolution that would be beyond dispute,” Kessler writes. Kessler is trying to insinuate that the family members of the victims have faulty memories of what happened when they met Mrs. Clinton. True, memories do shift over the years. That is why Charles Woods, father of Tyrone Woods, has perhaps the most convincing story.

Woods provided Kessler with photographic evidence of his September 15, 2012 calendar entry about Mrs. Clinton’s statements. Woods also called in to the Lars Larson show just over a month after the attacks, on October 23, 2012, and told the radio host: “And she did not appear to be one bit sincere at all, and, you know, she mentioned that thing about, ‘We’re going to have that person arrested and prosecuted that did the video.’” Shortly thereafter, he appeared on The Blaze making similar comments.

Woods also went on the One America News Network this week and challengedMrs. Clinton to take a lie detector test, along with him, to determine which one is telling the truth.

Townhall cites not two, but four, family members claiming that Mrs. Clinton is an outright liar. But, according to Kessler’s account, the family members claiming she told them about the video are only two: Patricia Smith, the mother of information officer Sean Smith—who died along with Ambassador Chris Stevens at the Special Mission Compound—and Woods.

The other family members—Barbara Doherty, Cheryl Croft Bennett, and Jan Stevens—Kessler writes, told him that Mrs. Clinton did not mention the video.

Kessler does admit that he did not speak to all of the family members. However, his treatment of Kate Quigley raises suspicions as to his overall method.

To add to the appearance of ambiguity, Kessler’s January 4th article casts Quigley, sister of the other deceased security contractor, Glenn Doherty, as having told him that Mrs. Clinton “made no mention of a video, but did refer to a ‘spontaneous protest.’”

In the previous month, according to Mediaite’s Alex Griswold, Quigley directly accused Mrs. Clinton of lying about blaming the attack on the video during the funeral.

“I know what she said to me and she can say all day long that she didn’t say it. That’s her cross to bear,” Quigley told Boston Herald Radio, according to Griswold. Patricia Smith also told the House Government Affairs Committee that a number of administration officials, from President Obama to Susan Rice to Hillary Clinton, all told her that the video was to blame.

What Kessler casts as anecdotal conjecture amounts to far more substance: it is congressional testimony, photographic evidence, and contemporaneous accounts. Yet Mrs. Clinton emerges unscathed from the Post not because she has admitted the truth, but because the liberal media remain loath to challenge her.

Instead, news organizations such as The Hill continue to claim that pursuing the truth behind the Benghazi attacks is a wasteful partisan anti-Hillary vendetta.

“Committee Republicans have long denied allegations that they are bent on a purely political mission to smear former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton, rather than being motivated by a desire for the facts surrounding the 2012 terror attack in Benghazi, Libya,” reported The Hill’s Julian Hattem in his January 4th article covering the Select Committee on Benghazi’s latest round of closed door hearings. The Select Committee interviewed former CIA Director David Petraeus for the second time on Wednesday, and will interview former Defense Secretary Leon Panetta on Friday.

“Democrats have opposed the existence of the special committee since it was created in 2014,” Hattem reports. “Two GOP lawmakers and one former Republican committee staffer added fuel to the fire last year, by claiming that a core goal of the committee was to tear down Clinton’s presidential ambitions.” Wechallenged that claim at the time. Hattem also claimed that there was no “damning evidence” against Mrs. Clinton’s job performance and integrity from the October hearing.

No further evidence is necessary to implicate Mrs. Clinton in the Benghazi cover-up. She has deleted half of her emails, provided the State Department with altered messages, lied about having classified information on her private email server, and worked with the White House to blame an attack on a YouTube video while fully aware that this video had nothing to do with the Benghazi terror attacks. But the mainstream media are more concerned with ensuring that Hillary Clinton attains the presidency than vetting her as a candidate.

Rep. Trey Gowdy (R-SC), chairman of the House Select Committee on Benghazi, appeared on Fox News on January 7th talking about the status of the hearings, the work of the Select Committee, and when he expects the committee to complete their work. Gowdy said that he is eager to wrap it up, having already interviewed 65 witnesses and received about 100,000 documents. He said, “I am waiting on documents from the White House, the CIA and the State Department.” He said that he believes he’s getting close, that he has about a dozen more witnesses to interview, and that he wants to wait for the remaining documents. In the end, Gowdy said that “I trust my fellow citizens to judge the full body of our work.”

I can assure Chairman Gowdy that we at the Citizens’ Commission on Benghaziwill be judging the full body of their work. But if they are waiting until all relevant documents are handed over, the Obama administration will surely run out the clock on them. As we have repeatedly documented, the key aspects of this multi-layered scandal are already well established and on the record. The challenge for the Select Committee is to effectively explain the Benghazi narrative in an environment where a hostile and corrupt news media will be attempting to dismiss and discredit their final report in an effort to protect and defend President Obama and Hillary Clinton.

Europe Braces Itself for Terrorism as Germany and Other Countries Experience Sexual Jihad Firsthand from Rapefugees

By: Terresa Monroe-Hamilton

Germany

Germans are fed up and want Angela Merkel gone. Especially after the New Year’s Eve festivities where Muslim men assaulted and raped a whole bunch of women in Cologne. With signs declaring, ‘RAPEFUGEES NOT WELCOME’, protesters marched and called for the invaders to leave their country. Regardless of what the media says, they are not racists. You can’t be racist against a religion or a theocratic/political construct. These refugees are being brought into Germany by the millions and they bring rape, theft and Shariah law with them. German women fear venturing out of their homes now and politicians tell them to get used to it and to be more modest instead of going after the rapists. These people are scared and angry and you can hardly blame them.

Germany1

This is the Hijrah migration and it is facilitated by the very people they elected and trusted as their leaders. Merkel opened the borders of Germany and let a conquering force invade her country. They have kicked people out of their homes and have given German jobs to those crossing their borders. Shariah law is being imposed in certain sectors and Islamists roam the streets as predators looking for women to accost. They are violent and aggressive and the Germans are not just going to roll over and let these monsters rule them. Merkel is a clear and present danger to Germany and must be removed from office. Her upbringing is showing. “We are the people,” chanted the crowd as they began marching away from the train station. “Those who don’t love this country should disappear,” they shouted. Some also heckled a line of police officers standing guard, saying “where, where, where were you on New Year’s Eve?” Good question. My guess is they were ordered to stand down by the mayor and by Merkel. 150 cops showed up to stop the rapes and thefts in Cologne – they said that was all they could spare. That was a joke; it was nowhere near enough to stop 1,000 Muslims from rampaging. But when Pegida protested the Islamization of Germany and Europe, they rallied 1,700 officers. What does that look like to you?

Thousands have pledged their support to a German vigilante group which has vowed to protect women from migrants in the wake of the New Year’s Eve attacks in Cologne. A week after a mob of ‘drunk and stoned’ migrants sexually assaulted and robbed 100 women on the streets of Cologne, a group known as ‘Dusseldorf is Watching’ has gained more than 8,000 Facebook members. The group says it wants to make the streets safer through their ‘presence’ alone, but police have warned that ‘searching for offenders is not a job for citizens’. Evidently it isn’t a job for the police there either.

Approximately 1,700 protesters were met with the use of water cannons and tear gas by police as they protested the refugee invasion. Cologne police said they received a total of 379 complaints about New Year’s Eve in Cologne, with about 40% being investigated as sex crimes. Other European cities reported similar rashes of sex crime reports. Other German cities experienced similar attacks the same night, including the northern city of Hamburg, where more than 50 incidents were reported.

Germany5

From WND, here is the list of countries that have reported a spike in sexual attacks since taking in migrants:

  • Austria: Police allegedly tried to cover up evidence of sex attacks in Vienna, Breitbart London reported Friday.
  • Finland: Police told Agence-France Presse there was “widespread sexual harassment” at a New Year’s Eve event where 1,000 asylum seekers congregated.
  • France: Two Afghan migrants were arrested in connection with an attempted rape on a passenger train in Paris, Le Parisien reported Thursday.
  • Germany: A police officer in Cologne told Express.de on Thursday that 14 suspects in custody came from Syria; one came from Afghanistan.
  • Sweden: At least nine women were groped by gangs of migrants in Kalmar.
  • Switzerland: Six women said they were sexually harassed at a New Year’s Eve event in Zurich, SWI reported Thursday. The attacks were described by the website as “Cologne-style.”

Tommy Robinson on Cologne (New Year’s Eve Attacks)

Via CNN:

Police in Kalmar, Sweden, said Friday they had arrested two men described as refugees who only spoke Arabic or Kurdish. The men, who have since been released on bail, are suspected in two of the 11 sexual harassment complaints received in the town on New Year’s Eve, according to police spokesman Johan Bruun.

Police are looking for 10 to 15 additional suspects who allegedly encircled a group of women in Kalmar and groped them, Bruun told CNN.

In all, 16 females between 17 and 21 said they were molested, he said.

In Salzburg, an Austrian city on the German border, two men have been charged with sexually assaulting women on New Year’s Eve and New Year’s Day, police said in a statement.

A 23-year-old Syrian citizen was arrested in the city’s Old Town section on New Year’s Eve after sending fireworks in the direction of a 17-year-old student, police said. She was slightly injured in her abdomen. Further investigation revealed he allegedly had sexually abused a 20-year-old from Bayern in the inner city before the fireworks incident, police said.

A 28-year-old Afghan allegedly sexually abused a 58-year-old woman in the early hours of January 1, police said.

Another woman reported she was sexually harassed on New Year’s Eve by two men who also stole her phone, police said. A 24-year-old Afghan man was arrested and accused of molesting a 26-year-old January 6 at a downtown Salzburg pub, police said.

In Zurich, Switzerland, six women told authorities they were “robbed from one side, [while] being groped … on the other side” by groups of men described as having dark skin, according to a Zurich police statement released Friday.

And in Helsinki, Finland, police said they are investigating two possible criminal offenses related to New Year’s Eve harassment centered around “a gathering of asylum-seekers.”

Germany2

There is a new leaked police report out that says the attackers in the Cologne sex attacks claimed to be Syrian refugees. The report states that senior police officers feared fatalities and that one of those involved in the attacks told officers: “I am Syrian. You have to treat me kindly. Mrs. Merkel invited me.”

The violent attacks were also much more serious than previously reported. Police actually feared that people would die during the onslaught on New Year’s Eve. If you can believe it, German ministers have said that there is absolutely no evidence that asylum seekers are involved in the violence. What? It just spontaneously occurred? German men suddenly decided to rape their women? I don’t think so.

One of the refugees tore up his residence permit before the eyes of police and told them: “You can’t do anything to me, I can get a new one tomorrow.” A local newspaper reported that fifteen asylum-seekers from Syria and Afghanistan were briefly held by police on New Year’s Eve in connection with the sex attacks, but then they were released. The Express newspaper quoted an unnamed police officer who said his squad had detained several people who had “only been in Germany for a few weeks.” “Of these people, 14 were from Syria and one was from Afghanistan. That’s the truth. Although it hurts,” he said. The newspaper quoted a second police officer as confirming the 15 who were held had “residence permits for the asylum procedure.” Officers took down their names, and they are in the police records, he said.

Two of the men were found carrying threatening, handwritten notes in German and Arabic. The messages, which they are thought to have handed to women, included the phrases, ‘I am going to kill you’, ‘I want to f***’, ‘I’m only joking with you’ and ‘nice breasts’. Suspects included Algerians, eight Moroccans, five Iranians, four Syrians, two Germans and one person each from Iraq, Serbia and the United States.

It certainly looks like the police and Merkel are covering the assaults up and trying to quiet those stepping forward. Police claim they were overwhelmed that night and had to release those detained. Bull crap. They were ordered to let them go. Police say they have identified 16 suspects from video recordings of the incidents. It is not known if the group includes any who were detained on New Year’s Eve. Only 16? There were a whole hell of a lot more than that rampaging.

The Germans are incensed over this:

Germany registered nearly 1.1 million asylum-seekers last year. Last week, Germany’s justice minister warned that asylum-seekers could be deported if they are found to have taken part in the Cologne sexual assaults. I’ll believe it when I see it. The author of the leaked police report is rumored to be a commander of some 100 officers sent as reinforcements to the area outside Cologne’s main station on New Year’s Eve.

“When we arrived, our vehicles were pelted with firecrackers,” the report said. “In the forecourt and on the cathedral steps were a thousand people, mostly males of an immigrant background who were indiscriminately throwing fireworks and bottles into the crowd.” The arrival of the police did not slow down the violence at all. “Around 10:45 pm, the station forecourt filled with people of an immigrant background. Women literally had to run the gauntlet through the mass of drunk men, in a way you can’t describe,” the report said. “We came to the conclusion that the situation threatened chaos or serious injury, if it didn’t lead to fatalities.”

The police moved in and decided to clear the area. They were met with violent resistance as they were “repeatedly bombarded with fireworks and pelted with bottles.” The report describes members of the crowd as having consumed a “massive” quantity of alcohol and other intoxicating substances such as marijuana. The police got the area cleared out by 12:15 am, but the revelers were nowhere near done yet. They simply moved the festivities to the back streets. “Many women came to officers shocked and crying and reported sex assaults. Police forces were unable to respond to all the events, assaults and offences. There were just too many at the same time.” They were outnumbered and overwhelmed. Welcome to the party, pal. The police could not get to the victims as they were being molested. The Islamic thugs laughed at the police because they knew they wouldn’t do a thing to stop them.

More than 150 women have filed criminal complaints, three-quarters of them for sexual assault. Two cases of rape have been reported. And you can bet there were many, many more than that. Police say seven suspects have been identified so far. Two are currently being held after being arrested for harassing women on Sunday night, two days after the main incident. Two others were briefly detained and questioned on New Year’s Eve on suspicion of theft, but were later released. None of their names are being released.

Cologne wasn’t the only place this went on either. Three Syrians have been arrested in southern Germany on suspicion of the gang rape of two teenage girls on New Year’s Eve. The suspects have been in custody for several days, but news of the arrests was kept secret to protect the privacy of the victims because they are minors, prosecutors claimed. Right. I’m sure that’s all it was… they are so concerned for the minors here. A 21 year-old man and two 14 year-old boys are being held in the town of Weil am Rhein, near the French and Swiss borders. They are suspected of raping two girls, also aged 14 and 15, who spent New Year’s Eve with them at the home of the 21 year-old in the nearby village of Friedlingen. The fourth suspect is his 15 year-old brother. They viciously raped the two girls and held them for several hours. Police say the suspects are not asylum seekers and they believe the incident is not connected to the sex attacks in Cologne and other German cities. The 21 year-old suspect and his brother are German residents. The other suspects live in Switzerland and the Netherlands. And they are Muslim.

More and more refugees are still flowing into Germany every day. “We had an average influx of 3,200 refugees per day arriving in Germany, and the numbers are not declining in the last days,” Ole Schroeder, the deputy German minister, told a briefing in Brussels. “Our problem at the moment in Europe is that we do not have a functioning border control system, especially at the Greece-Turkey border,” he added. Where things go from here is an open question, but it appears many Germans are at their breaking point. Next on the hit parade in these countries are waves of terrorist attacks and they are coming to the US as well.

“This is a preview as to what’s coming into our own nation in the United States, once we start bringing and importing these refugees,” said Brigitte Gabriel. And she is right. If Obama keeps bringing in refugees the way he has started to do, this will occur here. The difference is, at least for now, we are armed. As Phyllis Schlafly said, Germany is no longer German. And if Obama gets his way, America will no longer be American. After the rape spree in Germany, Merkel and her government targeted ‘hate speech‘, not the Muslim rapists. That’s exactly what Obama will do as well. If America does not want to be subjected to Rapefugees and sexual Jihad, then we had better elect a leader that will put a halt to the refugee resettlement program and close our borders. I’m just not sure we can wait that long as Obama is bringing in as many Islamic refugees as he can while he’s still in power. The Hijrah migration is here.

Arab Channel Uses Brits to Attack American Athletes

By: Cliff Kincaid
Accuracy in Media

Once labeled the voice of al-Qaeda, the Muslim Brotherhood channel known as Al Jazeera has been desperately trying to present itself as a respectable “news” operation with high journalistic standards. Incredibly, the Arab/Muslim terrorist connections didn’t hurt the channel’s ability to move into the U.S. media market. But now, its treatment of some well-respected American professional athletes may have damaged the foreign-funded propaganda organization beyond repair.

The Al Jazeera spin-off known as Al Jazeera America is accused in a lawsuit of using “false and unsubstantiated allegations” in order to damage the reputation of Washington Nationals baseball player Ryan Zimmerman, a major sports figure in the nation’s capital who raises money for charitable causes. Zimmerman and others are accused of using a performance-enhancing drug known as Human Growth Hormone (HGH).

The suit says the unsubstantiated allegations were “based on uncorroborated accusations by a third party that had been unequivocally recanted” prior to the airing of the charges. That third party, Charlie Sly, apparently worked at the Guyer Institute of Molecular Medicine in Indianapolis, the alleged source of the HGH shipments, as a low-level employee. But it’s not exactly clear when that was, and he now claims he made up the allegations.

The charges against Zimmerman and other professional athletes were included in a report titled, “The Dark Side: Secrets of the Sports Dopers.” It aired on December 27, 2015.

Despite the channel’s foreign terrorist connections, a constituency for anti-American coverage has emerged in the United States. It has taken in not only Al Jazeera but Moscow’s propaganda outlet Russia Today (RT), which has a presence in tens of millions of homes through Comcast. Some are praising Al Jazeera America for trying to tear down a “white American hero,” a reference to Denver Broncos quarterback Peyton Manning, another target of the allegations. Al Jazeera claimed that HGH was provided to Manning through his wife, Ashley.

Doping scandals and lying about them do occur in sports. In one of the most famous cases, bicyclist Lance Armstrong denied and then finally admitted to doping throughout his career. But so far at least, Al Jazeera’s “journalists” are the ones in this instance who are looking like dopes. Not only have they lodged unconfirmed charges against Zimmerman, Manning and others, but they have dragged Manning’s wife into the mess.

Manning said he was sickened, disgusted, and angry about the charges. He said he got treatment at the institute but never received HGH. He said, “The allegation that I would do something like that is complete garbage and is totally made up. It never happened. Never. I really can’t believe somebody would put something like this on the air. Whoever said this is making stuff up.”

Alluding to the questionable nature of the allegations and lack of evidence for them, Manning said, “I’m not sure how someone can admit making something up about somebody, admit that he made it up, and yet it somehow is published in a story.” Calling the charges “defamation” and hurtful to his family, he said he wouldn’t lose any sleep over the “lies” and would concentrate on winning NFL football games.

Fighting back, one Manning supporter posted a comment on an Al Jazeera website that referred to “the lazy Arabs in Qatar,” the financial backers of the channel, being “the most overweight nation in the world.” Indeed, Qatar isreported to have “the highest per capita wealth in the world,” making it the obesity capital of the world, with over half the population overweight.

As the charges go back and forth, serious questions are raised about how the foreign-funded channel went about documenting its allegations and whether its reporters and sources can be trusted.

It’s possible that the allegations, no matter how questionable, could lead to more investigations of professional sports. But it may also be possible that the controversy over Al Jazeera America’s “reporting” will help prompt Congress to finally take a look at how this foreign-funded propaganda outlet literally bought its way into the U.S. media market.

In that regard, Al Jazeera can fight the suit and even pay millions in damages, as a result of the deep pockets of the Emir of Qatar, and still stay on the air indefinitely.

The case, however, sheds light on those in the media who take the channel seriously as a news outlet. Indeed, the Al Jazeera program was provided in advance to The Huffington Post, a sleazy, far-left news publication that published an article with an embedded link to the show on December 26. The Huffington Post regularly cooperates with Al Jazeera.

Following up on the dubious story, Al Jazeera America has now run a column, “Blame capitalism for doping in sports,” which repeats many of the unsubstantiated claims against American pro athletes. The author, Bhaskar Sunkara, is described as the founding editor of Jacobin, a Marxist website.

He conveniently ignores the fact that “capitalism” has been a draw for foreign athletes, including many who have fled Communist Cuba to get a chance to play in the major leagues.

If capitalism was the target, Al Jazeera has missed the mark, as the Zimmerman lawsuit rips the standards and practices of the channel to pieces. The suit says that the Al Jazeera personnel “knew full well that their ‘source’ had recanted his scandalous and untrue allegations against Mr. Zimmerman but, abdicating all journalistic responsibilities, Defendants nonetheless chose to publish their defamatory story in an attempt to stir scandal and increase Al Jazeera’s low ratings, no matter the cost to Mr. Zimmerman.”

In legal terms, the defendants are accused of knowing the charges were false, and having “a reckless disregard for the truth or falsity of those statements.”

The suit says they:

  • knew that the motivations of their sole source were questionable;
  • lacked any details tending to establish the veracity of the source’s allegations;
  • failed to uncover any confirming facts as to these allegations, notwithstanding a purported six-month undercover operation related to same;
  • refused to further investigate the sole source of these allegations, or to identify said source, despite Mr. Zimmerman’s repeated requests prior to publication regarding same; and
  • knew prior to publication that the sole source of the allegations had recanted these allegations.

The allegation against Zimmerman not only damages the baseball player’s reputation, the suit says, but could damage his ability to raise money for humanitarian and charitable causes. “The financial impact of this harm on Mr. Zimmerman ultimately will be in the millions of dollars,” it says.

Ryan Howard of the Philadelphia Phillies has also sued the channel over its allegations against him. Howard said, “Their irresponsible reporting forced me to take this action to protect my name and to fight back against the spreading of these lies. I will have no further comment, as the filing itself contains all I need to say.”

The Zimmerman suit identifies Al Jazeera America as part of the Al Jazeera Media Network, “a Qatar-based news network that, upon information and belief is owned or funded by the government of Qatar.” Qatar is an oil and gas-rich Arab dictatorship which tolerates no freedom of the press at home.

In fact, of course, there is much more to the Al Jazeera network, as Accuracy in Media has been reporting for years. The channel is a mouthpiece for the pro-terrorist Muslim Brotherhood, and was a faithful voice of al-Qaeda for many years.

Explaining why the channel would go public with the false allegations, the suit notes that in 2013 the Al Jazeera Media Network spent $500 million to buy Current TV and start Al Jazeera America, but that it has been “plagued with low ratings” since its launch. In other words, the channel was desperate for ratings.

The transaction enriched former Democratic presidential candidate and Senator Al Gore, one of the owners of Current TV. Congress refused to investigate the circumstances surrounding the unusual sale.

After documenting resignations and chaos at the channel, the suit notes that an “Investigative Unit” was established whose purpose was described as follows: “Al Jazeera’s Investigative Unit does not report the news, it makes the news.”

It appears that the channel made up the news based on a dubious and unverified source.

The suit names the assistant to Al Jazeera America reporter Deborah Davies as Liam James Collins, “a known fraudster and publicity-seeker.” Both Davies and Collins are citizens of Britain and are named as defendants. Davies went on Al Jazeera to defend the report.

Zimmerman’s lawyers are demanding not only monetary damages but the removal of “all false and defamatory statements” about the baseball player from Al Jazeera’s website and its YouTube site, and an injunction requiring the defendants “to publish a retraction of all false and defamatory statements about Plaintiff in the New York Times or a similar newspaper with nationwide distribution.”

The channel claims to operate under a “Code of Ethics,” a statement still on its website that includes adherence “to the journalistic values of honesty, courage, fairness, balance, independence, credibility and diversity, giving no priority to commercial or political over professional consideration.”

It appears, however, that the need for ratings and viewers took precedence over old-fashioned objective news reporting.

Perhaps the Sunni Emir of Qatar ought to pull the plug on Al Jazeera and use the funds to buy some military equipment for defense against Shiite Iran.
