Our Weasel Of The Week Nominees!! – 02/02/16

The Watcher’s Council

It’s time once again for the Watcher’s Council’s ‘Weasel Of The Week’ nominations, where we pick our choices to compete for the award of the famed Golden Weasel to a public figure who particularly deserves to be slimed and mocked for his or her dastardly deeds during the week. Every Tuesday morning, tune in for the Weasel of the Week nominations!

Here are this week’s nominees…

MessNBC’s Resident Dingbat, Mellisa Harris-Perry!!

The Noisy Room: My nomination for Weasel of the Week goes to Melissa Harris-Perry (again). She whined on MSNBC that poor, misunderstood illegal immigrants are being deported from the US. Then she laughingly compared their plight to that of slaves in the 1850s. What a maroon:

Melissa Harris Perry: I don’t want the Obama administration’s final year to be marred by a fugitive slave law around the question of this deportation that leads in the context of Flint to actual children actually being poisoned because they’re afraid to open the door to clean water.

Just wow. She’s unhinged and I can’t even understand really what she’s ranting on about. She’s mixing slavery, with illegal immigration, with lead tainted water in Flint, MI… Someone is definitely off their meds here. Her concern is that knocking on doors of illegal immigrants is essentially the revival of the Fugitive Slave Act, a law from 1850 that allows slave owners to recapture any runaway slaves. Just laughable.

If that didn’t make your head hurt enough, here’s RedState’s take:

You see, if you are an illegal immigrant, and you answer the door when the government comes calling, you are deported on sight. The result of this is that people in Flint, Michigan, who are suffering from lack of usable water, won’t open the door for fresh water deliveries out of fear that they are being tricked into being deported. She called this a potential “black-brown coalition moment.”

Talk about reaching. So, there are so many illegal immigrants in Flint that no one will get fresh water. Uh no. But if they were slaves, shouldn’t we set them free and send them home? Just sayin’.

For being a racist moonbat and a liar extraordinaire, Melissa Harris-Perry and her tampon earrings should get Weasel of the Week. Maybe she can pawn it to get fresh water to all those would-be slaves in Flint. You know, the place that has a majority black council that is responsible for the whole leaded water brouhaha in the first place.

The UN Signers of The Global Warming Diktat!!

Fausta’s Blog: The signatories of the U.N. global warming treaty (which will cost at least $13 trillion)who travel in private jets and stay at places with the largest carbon footprints.

Dante would place them in the 8th Circle of the Inferno, along with the frauds. Fittingly for the U.N. setting, the hypocrites’ in the 8th Circle wear golden cloaks liked with lead – only that it’s us paying for it all.

http://www.redstate.com/uploads/2015/09/huckabee.jpg
Former Arkansas Governor, Presidential Candidate And Bass Guitarist Mike Huckabee!!

The Daley Gator: Apparently soon-to-be failed-GOP hopeful Mike Huckabee can determine who is, and is not a Christian. Or maybe he has sold out to Trump and is bashing Ted Cruz’s faith to please his new puppet master…

UN Secretary General, Human Jellyfish And Terrorism Apologist Ban-Ki-Moon!!

JoshuaPundit: Ban Ki-Moon decided to give a speech last week entitled, “Secretary-General’s remarks to the Security Council on the Situation in the Middle East.” It had 52 paragraphs, three about Lebanon, and two about Syria – one about refugees and one about the Golan. The rest of it was a screed aimed at Israel. Nothing about Iran, or about ISIS . Nothing about Saudi Arabia’s mass killings of civilians in Yemen, nothing about Egypt or Libya. Not a mention of the Kurds.

Ban’s entire speech basically stated that if Israel uprooted 500,000 of its citizens, divided Jerusalem and gave the part with the Jewish Holy sites to the Arabs whom call themselves ‘Palestinians’ and retreated to indefensible borders there would be peace in the entire region. But wait there’s more. Ban Ki-Moon also rationalized the murder of Jews, attributing the terrorist attacks deliberately incited by unelected dictator Mahmoud Abbas and the Palestinian Authority to “Palestinian frustration.”

“Palestinian frustration is growing under the weight of a half century of occupation and the paralysis of the peace process,” Ban continued. “Some have taken me to task for pointing out this indisputable truth. Yet, as oppressed peoples have demonstrated throughout the ages, it is human nature to react to occupation, which often serves as a potent incubator of hate and extremism.”

In his entire speech and in a follow up editorial cheerfully published by Pravda-on-the-Hudson, the Secretary General of the supposedly neutral UN did not mention the deliberate incitement to murder by Abbas and the Palestinian Authority once.

Ban’s timing was impeccable. In the past four months, over 25 Israelis have been murdered. The latest casualties, a fresh wound to Israelis when Ban made his speech included a heroic mother of six who saved her children’s lives by refusing to let her Arab assassin remove the knife from her body, a woman who was five months pregnant and a 23 year old woman targeted and killed at random.

Would Ban excuse Jews if they got tired of being at the receiving end of this kind of murder and started replying in kind? Of course he wouldn’t.

You see, what Ban Ki Moon was really saying, of course, was that Muslims in general and the Arabs whom call themselves ‘Palestinians’ in particular have the right and privilege to express their grievances violently. That worldview’s very common in some circles.  The Mayor of Koln, Germany expressed similar sentiments after the New Year’s Eve gang rapes by Muslim refugees in that city, telling the local women that it was their responsibility to wear less enticing clothing, stay in groups, keep at least an arm’s length of distance from gangs of Muslims and avoid certain public places.

Needless to say, the entire spectrum of Israeli politics ripped Ban for his bigoted comments, including Bibi Netanyahu, who accused him of “stoking terror,” which of course Ban was by rationalizing it. But even the rationale, the the ‘occupation’ excuses murder  is maddeningly hollow. Because the UN’s definition of what occupation consists of  applies to Israel and Israel alone. There are no Jews living in Gaza and Israel has nothing to do with the place except to legally blockade it since Hamas took over  to keep Hamas’s missile supply from Iran in check so they won’t fire them at Israeli civilians. Yet the UN, EU and other parts of what calls itself the international community refers to Israel as Gaza’s ‘occupying power.’

According to the 1922 San Remo Accords and Article 80 of the UN Charter that reaffirmed it, the official border between the Arab part of the Palestine Mandate and the remaining 22% that was left for the Jews is the Jordan River. In 1948, a large part of that 22%, Judea, Samaria (AKA The West Bank) and East Jerusalem were invaded by Jordan’s British armed and officered Arab Legion and the Jewish inhabitants ethnically cleansed in a particularly brutal fashion. That 19-year occupation by aggressive force was never recognized by the UN, but the UN did nothing to change that status and member Jordan went totally unpunished for what they had done. Only in 1967, when Jordan’s King Hussein attacked Israel and was pushed back across the Jordan by the IDF did we start hearing about Israel ‘occupying’ territory that officially belonged to no other country.

If Israel is conducting an  ‘occupation’ in Judea and Samaria, then by Ban’s definition of it  all of South Korea, Ban Ki-Moon’s home country is occupied North Korean territory, since North Korea invaded it militarily and controlled it for awhile. It’s a real pity no one threw that back in Ban Ki Moon’s face.

That’s also one reason many  Israelis are justifiably leery of ceding more land to anyone. If Israel was stupid and gullible enough to actually pull back to the 1948 ceasefire lines as Ban, the UN, the EU and our Dear Leader in DC  are pressuring them to do, rest assured that Israel would still be referred to as ‘the occupying power’ of whatever land Israel gave up by creatures like Ban Ki Moon.  Just like Gaza is.

Rationalizing murder is bad enough, but creating special rules for Israel, the world’s only Jewish State that apply to no other nation is by definition Jew hatred. That seems to be fashionable once again, especially at the UN.

Well, there it is. What a despicable group of  Weasels… ANY OF THEM COULD WIN! Check back Thursday to see which Weasel walks off with the statuette of shame!

Iran Continues Mocking and Humiliating American Leaders

By: Roger Aronoff
Accuracy in Media

The New York Times continues to misrepresent the Iran deal as a signed document with the potential to motivate moderate Iranians to reform their totalitarian regime. However, it is more than obvious that the P5+1 did not actually sign a deal with Iran, and that this unsigned agreement cannot bring about change in that country.

Instead, the deal has emboldened those who hold the reins of power in Iran. On January 28, the Times’ editorial board lamented that “Next month’s elections in Iran do not bode well for Iranians eager for more political and social freedoms or for the promising new relationship with the West symbolized by the recent deal limiting Iran’s nuclear program.”

“Even before any ballots are cast,” they argue, “the death-to-America hard-liners who bitterly opposed the deal are stacking the deck against moderates led by President Hassan Rouhani, who signed the agreement and is more open than others in the power structure to further engagement with Western nations as well as expanding rights and freedoms for Iranian citizens.”

The inaccuracies contained within these few lines are too many to count. Iran is not interested in engaging with Western nations, other than for business purposes, nor is it interested in expanding the rights of its citizens. Also, even Iranians abroad do not support President Rouhani. When Rouhani recently came to France, thousands of Iranians and others took to the streets to demonstrate against him and his “façade of moderation,” according to CNS News.

As we have reported, the nuclear agreement has not actually been signed. In aletter from the State Department, Julia Frifield stated that “The Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA) is not a treaty or an executive agreement, and is not a signed document.” Rather, the Iranian “deal” is just a set of political obligations which Iran can interpret in whatever way it wants.

How exactly can the mainstream media keep perpetuating this falsehood about a signed deal in their news reports? It is because members of the mainstream media have championed, and will continue to champion, this deal at any cost as long as it is considered part of President Obama’s foreign policy legacy. Such reporters will likely attribute any visible sign of a supposedly reformed Iran to Obama’s diplomacy rather than to internal forces. Reductions in freedom will undoubtedly be attributed to hard-liner resistance.

“So much for the nuclear deal’s promise of empowering Iranian reformers,”commented The Wall Street Journal on January 26. The recent “purge of candidates betrayed an especially hard-line approach,” it writes.

However, if President Rouhani is a force for moderation, as the Times’ editorial board contends, then why has he overseen more than 2,000 executions during his tenure? Iran performs more executions than any nation except for China. And that doesn’t even begin to describe the human rights abuses that are rampant in Iran, particularly towards women and children. This Gatestone article describes those conditions under the “moderate” Rouhani regime.

“Executions, however, skyrocketed under both [former President Mohammad] Khatami and now Rouhani relative to the capital punishment rates under their respective predecessors,” argues the American Enterprise Institute’s Michael Rubin in an opinion piece posted by Newsweek titled, “There Are No Iranian Moderates.” “…Americans continue to wallow under the delusion that factions are hooks upon which to hang American policy,” he argues.

The truth is that there are no Iranian moderates in power, and those reformers that the West might champion wield little to no power.

Rubin sees Rouhani’s struggles as a façade, a ruse to “project an image of moderation to relieve pressure.” He argues that Rouhani was elected for the sole purpose of overcoming Iran’s financial woes.

Now that Implementation Day has come and gone, President Rouhani is free to court French and Italian businesses, which recently signed deals valued in the tens of billions.

“It seems quite evident that the nuclear agreement has given the regime added motivation to crack down on Iranian civil society, become more belligerent in the region, and keep Western influence at bay,” argues Italy’s former foreign minister, Giulio Maria Terzi. While Terzi calls a moderate Iran a “fantasy,” he still calls for Western business deals that require Iran to engage in reform.

But even The New York Times editorial board casts Rouhani as “a creature of Iran’s establishment, not a revolutionary” who “has tapped into widespread popular support for ending the country’s long isolation.” It seems unclear what element, exactly, in Iran wanted to continue that isolation.

While the media and the Obama administration continue to hold to a non-existent agreement which does little to hold the regime accountable, Iran has become emboldened both in business and militarily. Not only did the Iranians film American sailors at gunpoint, on January 12 the Iranians flew an unarmed drone over the USS Harry Truman while this carrier was sailing in international waters. The United States did not shoot down the drone. Instead, President Obama allowed Iran to claim another propaganda victory, with Iranian naval commander Adm. Habibollah Sayyari claiming that it was an act of Iranian “bravery” to surveil U.S. forces.

Iran’s Supreme Leader Ayatollah Khamenei further humiliated the Obama administration when he awarded medals to the five commanders of the Islamic Revolution Guards Corps (IRGC) who had seized two American Navy vessels and held 10 American sailors at gunpoint, claiming they had trespassed into Iranian waters. Khamenei told his commanders, while awarding them medals, that the capture of these sailors “was in fact an act of God, who brought the Americans into our waters so they would be arrested with their hands on their heads through your timely measure.” Whether they had trespassed or not, the Iranian action was illegal, and the Americans should never have allowed them on board the vessels, according to Retired Admiral James “Ace” Lyons.

Iran is very pleased, having just acknowledged receiving more than $100 billion of formerly frozen overseas assets through sanctions relief, contradicting the recent comments of Secretary of State John Kerry. Kerry has acknowledged that some of that money would be going to the IRGC, labeled by his own State Department as a terrorist organization, but he claimed that they weren’t getting $100 billion, and he didn’t know where that figure came from. He assured us it was more like $55 billion that they would be receiving. He said $100 billion was a “fictional number.”

But don’t look for the media to hold Kerry accountable. They, like the Obama administration, are still determined to convince us what a great deal this is, and how it has saved us from Iran developing nuclear weapons. Liberal news organizations are expecting this disastrous, unsigned agreement with Iran to prompt concrete changes in that nation. But President Obama’s legacy will likely be a nuclear arms race in the Middle East, with Iran, the largest state sponsor of terrorism, empowered and enabled to expand its destructive impact.

Conservatives Oppose Mass Criminal Release

By: Cliff Kincaid
Accuracy in Media

With the presidential race the focus of most of the media attention, a major division among Senate Republicans over so-called “criminal justice reform” has gotten little attention. But the liberal media are now beginning to notice that conservatives are mounting a campaign to stop a piece of legislation that has been advertised as a major part of President Obama’s left-wing legacy.

The Sentencing Reform and Corrections Act (S. 2123) would release thousands of criminals back on the streets at a time of rising crime rates, in the name of reducing what liberals call “mass incarceration.”

In a major story on the new developments, The New York Times noted that the effort to pass the bill “has been driven by an unusual right-left alliance that includes the conservatives Charles G. and David H. Koch and the American Civil Liberties Union,” but that Senator Tom Cotton (R-AR) has now taken a strong leadership role against the bill.

In fact, the Koch brothers are libertarians, not conservatives.

Cotton told the Times, “I don’t believe we should allow thousands of violent felons to be released early from prison, nor do I believe we should reduce sentences for violent offenders in the future.”

A key development has been a triple murder committed by a convicted crack cocaine dealer who was back on the streets because his prison sentence on drug charges had already been reduced twice. The crimes were committed in Columbus, Ohio, and are now starting to get national media attention.

The Columbus Dispatch (Ohio) reports that Wendell L. Callahan, who is charged with killing his ex-girlfriend and two of her children, twice benefited from changes in federal sentencing guidelines, which reduced his sentence by a total of more than four years. His ex-girlfriend, Erveena Hammonds, 32, and her daughters, Breya Hammonds, 7, and Anaesia Green, 10, were viciously stabbed to death.

The publication Politico cited the triple murder case as a major complicating factor in the effort to pass the bill.

A conservative organization called Americans for Limited Government is leading opposition to the bill, taking issue with Senator John Cornyn (R-TX) for working with Senator Mike Lee (R-UT) to pass the controversial legislation.

The Times said, “Some analysts have suggested that it could help Republicans by broadening their appeal to independents, Democrats and minorities who believe that the criminal justice system is unfairly tilted.”

Cornyn seemed to accept this, telling the paper that Republicans should support the legislation to show that they care about people in prison and want to give them a second chance. “It doesn’t hurt to show that you actually care,” he said. “This is a statement that is not just symbolic, but actually shows that you care about people. It doesn’t hurt to show some empathy.”

Americans for Limited Government President Rick Manning countered, “Senator John Cornyn, whose sense of empathy must have developed at Washington, D.C. cocktail parties, should prove he truly cares for people whose neighborhoods have been ravaged by drugs and violent crimes by moving to one of those neighborhoods so he can see for himself the impact of releasing early thousands of hardened drug kingpins and violent criminals back on to the streets of America. Senator Cornyn’s ‘empathetic’ conscience needs to meet the reality of the street, where a 77 percent recidivism rate amongst released prisoners is the norm, with 25 percent of those crimes being violent in nature.”

The alleged killer in the Columbus case was released early from prison because Congress passed the Fair Sentencing Act of 2010, which reduced sentences for those in prison for dealing crack cocaine and directed the U.S. Sentencing Commission to amend federal sentencing guidelines to let drug dealers out of prison at an earlier date.

President Obama supports the Sentencing Reform and Corrections Act legislation, as do many in the liberal media anxious to see a piece of “bipartisan” legislation pass and become a part of the Obama legacy.

In addition to Senators Cornyn and Lee pushing the Senate bill, Politico had previously reported that House Speaker Paul Ryan (R-WI) wanted the GOP to pass “criminal justice reform” in early 2016, and that he had said, “I think criminal justice reform is probably the biggest [issue] we can make a difference on… There’s a real way forward on that.”

Americans for Limited Government President Rick Manning called Ryan’s plan a “risky mass criminal release scheme” that comes at a time when “police are overwhelmed with record murders in cities like Baltimore and Chicago.”

There were 342 murders in Baltimore in 2015, an all-time high. There were 468 murders in Chicago, compared to 416 in 2014.

The U.S. Sentencing Commission had announced in July of 2014 that it was launching a plan to release 46,290 drug offenders from federal prisons.

Obama is already in the process of releasing 6,000 drug dealers from prison in what The New York Times calls “one of the largest discharges of inmates from federal prisons in American history.” Last December he issued 95 commutations, mostly to drug offenders.

On the Columbus Dispatch Facebook page, one citizen commented, “For all of you who thought Prez O [Obama] was so compassionate when he pushed for letting drug dealers out of prison early, well what do you think of Prez Hope and Change now?”

The Columbus Dispatch said that the alleged killer “likely would have been deep into a 12 1/2-year federal prison sentence if sentencing guidelines for convicted crack dealers had remained unchanged.” It added that “The changes to his federal sentence came as part of retroactive attempts by the U.S. Sentencing Commission to rectify sentencing disparities between dealers who sold crack and those who dealt powdered cocaine.”

A local citizen wrote to the paper to note, “Hammonds and her daughters should be living examples of how harsh sentences against drug dealers and violent criminals protect our welfare. Instead, they’ll be laid to rest as examples of a broken system.”

Despite the murders, liberal pressure groups are demanding that the Senate Republican majority pass S. 2123. In a release headlined, “Civil and Human Rights Coalition Urges Senate Republicans to Stay the Course on Sentencing Reform in 2016,” Wade Henderson, president and CEO of The Leadership Conference on Civil and Human Rights, referred to “recent reports” about divisions among Senate Republicans and urged the Senate GOP conference “to stay the course on passing a sentencing reform package in 2016.” The Senate Republican Conference is the organization of Republican members in the U.S. Senate and is chaired by Senator John Thune of South Dakota. Thune has been quoted as saying that criminal justice reform has a “better than 50/50” shot of passing Congress and reaching Obama’s desk.

“The window of opportunity is here,” said Henderson. He claimed passage of the “bipartisan bill” and Obama’s willingness to sign it into law “is a rare chance to show the country that Washington can both reduce the size of government and protect its citizens all at once.”

The phrase “reducing the size of government” means cutting the cost of prisons. But the idea of “protecting” people by releasing criminals doesn’t make a lot of sense to law-and-order conservatives and the public at-large.

FAKE pro-Trump twitter account claims voter fraud in #IowaCaucus

By: Renee Nal
New Zeal

H/T: @LadyLiberty1885

We were first made aware of fake Trump twitter account @LandmanMarius when “sundance” at The Conservative Treehouse used it as source for FALSE claims that staffers were leaving Ted Cruz’s campaign. The blatant lie was accompanied by a series of tweets (repeated lies) by @LandmanMarius claiming he met with the fake staffer.

Blocked by Storm Trumper2

Marius Landman of Australia is likely not involved in American politics.

“Sundance,” not surprisingly, since referred to this author as a “dumy” and removed the fake claim from his anti-Cruz smear piece. Shockingly, it appears at the time of this writing that a defiant “sundance” re-inserted the lie back on his propaganda article:

lies repeated by Conservative Tree House

Screenshot of Conservative Treehouse (Last Refuge) article, using a fake twitter account making fake claims about Ted Cruz, as of February 2, 2016.

It appears that @LandmanMarius has not stopped riling the Storm Trumpers, however. In the wake of Ted Cruz’s win in Iowa, the fuming pro-Trumper implied that voter fraud was involved in the Iowa Caucus:

Not surprisingly, his tweets prompted some nasty replies:

All Americans could learn from David Limbaugh’s wise advice:

But in the meantime, fake twitter accounts and slander should not be tolerated by anyone, no matter who you support.
