DEEP THOUGHTS WITH DOUG: This Episode — Trump and the SuperPACs
Another submission by our summer intern, @BiffSpackle.
If I were a Democrat consultant, I would be licking my chops at the attack ads I could create against Trump. War on women, on Mexicans, against private landowners, against the little guys he’s screwed in business repeatedly.
And, for the 10,000th time, I will support Trump in the general against any Democrat. Because I would support a used K-cup in the general against any Democrat.

Our Weasel Of The Week!! – 02/25/16
Yes, once again, It’s time to present this week’s statuette of shame, The Golden Weasel!!
Every Tuesday, the Council nominates some of the slimiest, most despicable characters in public life for some deed of evil, cowardice or corruption they’ve performed. Then we vote to single out one particular Weasel for special mention, to whom we award the statuette of shame, our special, 100% plastic Golden Weasel. This week’s nominees were all slimy and despicable, but the votes are in and we have our winner… the envelope please…

Twitter CEO And Anti-Free Speech Gauleiter Jack Dorsey!!
Nice Deb: I’m going to nominate Twitter CEO Jack Dorsey for saying in extreme weasel-like fashion, that “Twitter stands for freedom of expression, speaking truth to power, and empowering dialogue. That starts with safety.”
His emphasis was on “safety” (for special SSW snowflakes) over freedom of expression, truth to power, etc.
Salvaging Mrs. Clinton’s Legacy in a Shattered Libya
By: Roger Aronoff | Accuracy in Media
The Washington Post seems unable to grasp the irony of its support for President Obama’s latest military intervention into Libya at the same time that it seeks to salvage Hillary Clinton’s reputation on this issue. Libya remains a failed state, and no amount of reporting can change the facts of this debacle.
“With respect to Libya, I have been clear from the outset that we will go after ISIS wherever it appears, the same way that we went after al Qaeda wherever they appeared,” President Obama told the press on February 16. “And the testament to the fact that we are doing that already is that we took out…one of ISIS’s most prominent leaders in Libya.”
Obama’s words came out just days before the House Select Committee on Benghazi signaled that its report on the events in Benghazi, Libya will be issued “as soon as possible,” now that it has gained access to most of the necessary witnesses and documents.
Ted Cruz! Take off your shoes!

There is a famous story in my family about how my mother was bullied as a child. When she was in fourth grade, my mother would come home from school and cry to her mother, my grandmother, that another little girl was picking on her in the schoolyard. My grandmother, who I refer to as “Nanny,” would explain patiently to my mom that she should turn the other cheek. “It is unbecoming for little girls to fight,” she would say. “Ignore her and she will go away,” my Nanny instructed.
As she did at the time, Nanny walked my mother to school and one particular morning she lingered as her little girl left her side to dash into the schoolyard. Shortly after their separation, another little girl, much larger than my mother, raced toward my mom and pushed her so hard that mom, in her new dress, fell over in the dirt.
Trump says he will get ‘most of’ Ted Cruz’s votes
By: Renee Nal | New Zeal
Presidential candidate Donald Trump tweeted on Wednesday that he would “get most of his votes” if Cruz left the race. Donald Trump, a big government advocate who is the antithesis of Constitutionally-minded Ted Cruz, would likely not get Cruz votes, at least based on the responses on Twitter.
When Ted Cruz quits the race and the field begins to clear, I will get most of his votes – no problem!

Of course, Ted Cruz is still very much in the race.
2013 Flashback: Donald Trump meets with illegal immigration activists, says ‘You’ve convinced me’

Trump met with youth immigrant leaders affiliated with The Bridge Project in 2013 via Fox News Latino
In 2013, Donald Trump actually met with illegal immigrant activists. According to Fox News Latino, Trump was swayed by their stories, saying “You’ve convinced me.”
But that was then.
While there is quite a bit of discussion on a “wall,” which Trump uses as an “applause line,” it is much more difficult to pin down a strategy on how to deal with the illegal immigrants already in the country.
Trump uses the “build a wall” phrase when he wants applause. He told the New York Times:
Mr. Trump talked about the art of applause lines. “You know,” he said of his events, “if it gets a little boring, if I see people starting to sort of, maybe thinking about leaving, I can sort of tell the audience, I just say, ‘We will build the wall!’ and they go nuts.”
