I’ve just read an article in The Independent entitled “Overwhelming number of school leaders ‘opposed to Government’s new academies policy’“. What this and most articles on this subject ignore is the incontrovertible though much denied fact that education is a political football.
The reason for the move to academies is purely political, just as setting up the old comprehensive system was political. The existing system was set up to empower Labour Party ideology. The new proposals are put forward to benefit Conservative Party ideology. Politicians always want to shape the minds of the next generation because doing so gives them the power to control the future agenda.
The Labour Party have effectively controlled education for decades and have dumbed it down by subjecting it to tis own unrigorous world view. This worldview is based on an idealism that often ignores and sometimes actively resists reality

I just responded to an article in The Spectator by Theodore Dalrymple. The article was a bit of an excuse making exercise for the current migration crisis. The title of the article is “Why Britain (and Europe) depends on migrants: It’s not about economics. It’s about our snobbish, slobbish culture”
Don’t get me wrong, I am not opposed to sensible levels of immigration or for providing a safe haven for those fleeing persecution. The problem I have is with poor planning by our so-called leaders.
Matt with whom I agreed, and to whom I replied likened the argument for the current epic scale of immigration as a giant Ponzi scheme.

I’d purchased chocolate bunnies to go along with the Easter Eggs that my grandchildren colored in the front yard; but that has little if anything to do with the spiritual importance of Easter.
Merriam Webster’s dictionary defines Condescension:
1. voluntary descent from one’s rank or dignity in relations with an inferior
2. patronizing attitude or behavior
Most often when you hear the word Condescension it holds a negative meaning. Someone feels they are above your station in life talks to you in a way intended to remind you that they are above you in stature. Immediately the hair on your back bristles; you recognize the offensive attitude being presented, similar to how We The People react to those we’ve elected as they develop their self appointed elitist state of mind, a station above the lowly peasants.

“We should shrink the size and power of the federal government by every and any means possible. What does that mean? That means eliminating unnecessary or unconstitutional agencies.” – Ted Cruz
Republican presidential candidate Ted Cruz stands out from all other presidential candidates in that he stands for limited government as envisioned by the founding fathers. In his “Five for Freedom” plan, Cruz explains that he intends to “abolish the IRS, the Department of Education, the Department of Energy, the Department of Commerce, and the Department of Housing and Urban Development.”
Further, Cruz explains that if he is elected president, he will “appoint heads of each of those agencies whose sole charge will be to wind them down and determine whether any programs need to be preserved.” Cruz explains that he will also “[R]e-institute President Reagan’s Grace Commission to assess federal spending levels and evaluate areas of waste and fraud.”
Senator Ted Cruz would not stop there, however. His plan will “identify all unnecessary programs” and fight to end them. He gives a list of 25 agencies that he wants to abolish, as “merely a start:”

In response to the Islamic terrorist attack in Brussels, along with other common sense solutions, Ted Cruz cited the success of the NYPD Muslim surveillance program. http://read.bi/1MB57wM
Well, the mainstream media and Democrat talking heads went nuts; launching their usual shock and awe attack on anyone who refuses to bow their knee in worship to their god of political correctness. The Left called Cruz an idiot and a racist; demanding his head on a platter.
And yet, Cruz has not wavered, not walked-back his solutions nor blinked in his resolve to protect Americans. That’s what I am talkin’ about folks. Ted Cruz is a rock-solid, character-driven and backbone-of-steel conservative; sold-out to defending and advocating for We the people.
The Council has spoken, the votes have been cast and the results are in for this week’s Watcher’s Council match-up.
Since marriage constitutes slavery for women, it is clear that the women’s movement must concentrate on attacking this institution. Freedom for women cannot be won without the abolition of marriage. – Sheila Cronin, leader of the feminist organization NOW
The haste and vehemence with which scores of Duke University professors publicly took sides against the students in this case is just one sign of how deep the moral dry rot goes, in even our most prestigious institutions. We have become a society easily stampeded, even by the unsubstantiated, inconsistent and mutually contradictory statements of a woman with a criminal record.
All it takes is something that invokes the new holy trinity of the intelligentsia — “race, class and gender.” The story of a black woman gang-raped by white men fit the theme so compellingly that much of the media had no time to waste trying to find out if it was true before going ballistic. – Thomas Sowell on the Duke Lacrosse rape case.
Rape is nothing more or less than a conscious process of intimidation by which all men keep all women in a state of fear. – Susan Brownmiller, noted feminist authoress and academic.

A disgusting article at the National Enquirer claims Ted Cruz cheated on his wife, which evidently spawned the hashtag #CruzSexScandal. The allegations, of course, are fake. And this author will eat her car if proven wrong. That is a promise.
On Facebook, Donald Trump responded to the fake story by saying he did not read it, and in his typical statesman-like manner continued:
“Likewise, I have nothing to do with the National Enquirer and unlike Lyin’ Ted Cruz I do not surround myself with political hacks and henchman and then pretend total innocence.”
