Clinton’s Shadow Diplomat: Thomas Pickering and Russia’s Pipeline Sales to Iran…
CenterforSecurityPolicy: “Clinton’s Shadow Diplomat” is a hard-hitting investigative report from the Center for Security Policy, exposing the ties of former Ambassador Thomas Pickering to a Putin-linked Russian company that sold oil and gas pipelines to Iran and Syria when Pickering was on its Board of Directors. The report reveals Pickering’s overlapping roles: as Clinton’s Foreign Affairs Policy Advisor, as an Advisory Board member for two Iranian advocacy groups, as a paid Director for a Russian firm selling pipeline to Iran and Syria, as a paid consultant to Iranian aircraft contractor Boeing, and as a Senate committee hearing witness, all with a common goal of ending economic sanctions on Iran and reversing U.S. Iran policies.
As meticulously documented in “Clinton’s Shadow Diplomat,” Pickering was a paid Director for the Russian-owned company Trubnaya Metallurgicheskaya Kompaniya (TMK) from June 30, 2009 to June 26, 2012. TMK is majority-owned by Russian billionaire oligarch Dmitry Pumpyansky, a close Putin ally.
The investigation discovered extensive proof of TMK’s business dealings in Iran and Syria while Pickering was on the Board, including a financial offering disclosure, catalogs, marketing materials, websites, press releases, legal documents, reports from the steel industry press and Iranian customer websites. Sales of oil and gas pipelines to Iran were specifically prohibited under U.S. laws and executive orders.
According to TMK’s records, Pickering attended 143 of the 145 TMK Board meetings. Pickering is estimated to have been paid over half a million dollars for his service to TMK, based on TMK’s compensation rules.
“Clinton’s Shadow Diplomat” documents TMK’s relationships with three Iranian customers, all listed by the Treasury Department’s Office of Foreign Assets Control (OFAC) as “Specially Designated Nationals” during the years Pickering served on the Board: the National Iranian Oil Company (NIOC), Petropars, and Pars Oil and Gas Company.
The investigation also shows TMK’s relationships with three Syrian customers listed by OFAC as “Specially Designated Nationals” in 2011, while Pickering was on the Board: the Syrian Gas Company, the Syrian Petroleum Company, and the Al Furat Petroleum Company. U.S. persons are generally prohibited from conducting any kind of business with “Specially Designated Nationals.”
Thomas Pickering was appointed by Clinton as Chairman for the Benghazi Accountability Review Board three months after he left TMK. Starting in December 2011, he also served in official capacity on Clinton’s Foreign Affairs Policy Board. Emails released from Clinton’s private server show that Pickering was emailing and meeting with Clinton and her staff from the beginning of her time as Secretary of State, arguing for an end to economic sanctions on Iran, during the same years he was on TMK’s Board of Directors.
“Clinton’s Shadow Diplomat” raises questions for the American public and policymakers about Thomas Pickering’s and Hillary Clinton’s priorities. Did they put America’s interests first, or those of Iran and Russia?
Pickering was briefly the president of the Eurasia Foundation, a Washington-based organization that makes small grants and loans in the states of the former Soviet Union.
As Russian software company Luxoft prepared to offer shares on the U.S. stock market, its executives turned to a well-known U.S. diplomat.
Thomas Pickering, a former U.S. ambassador to Russia who also served as undersecretary of state for political affairs under President Bill Clinton, agreed in May 2013 to be a director of Luxoft Holding Inc. a month before the company’s debut on the New York Stock Exchange. The relationship between Luxoft and Pickering, whose diplomatic career spans six presidents and four decades, is detailed in the massive Panama Papers leak and comes amid a global debate over the role of offshore companies. Luxoft is incorporated in the British Virgin Islands. More here from McClatchy/MiamiHerald.
Anyone find it curious that Luxoft just happened to be protected from the U.S. sanctions list due to the Russian invasion of Crimea and Ukraine? Barack Obama signed a couple of Executive Orders against Russia in 2014 as published here by the U.S. Department of Treasury and the U.S. State Department, but Luxoft was exempt.

The United States last week experienced the largest intrusion of the internet affecting social media platforms and Internet Service Providers. The further investigations found that specific malware was used via the pathway of the ‘Internet of Things’. IoT is all those other appliances that are attached to the internet for communications.
So this slide is rather fascinating and may have some clues to domestic cyber threats and risks…

Breitbart, liberal activist cooperated on GOP primary disruptions: report
By: Mark Hensch | The Hill
A liberal activist and organizer collaborated with the right-wing news site Breitbart on coverage of him interrupting GOP presidential primary candidates, according to a new report.
Aaron Black teamed with the pro-Donald Trump outlet by alerting them to stunts, sharing raw video footage and orchestrating coverage, Politico reported on Monday.
“He worked directly with Breitbart’s political team on the ground in the primary states to sabotage [Sens.] Marco Rubio [R-Fla.] and Ted Cruz [R-Texas], and elect Trump as nominee of the [Republican] party,” a source with direct knowledge of the arrangement told Politico.
“[Black] was coordinating with [Breitbart’s] top staff to rabble rouse against Rubio at rallies,” citing various disruptions during the former White House hopeful’s events.
Politico’s source said Black coordinated with Breitbart journalists via email, phone and even in-person meetings.
Black is an associate with the liberal-leaning Democracy Partners super PAC, it said, and is also a former Occupy Wall Street organizer.
Politico added Black has since conducted interviews with Breitbart and appeared on the outlet’s radio programs.
Robyn Gabel: Meet Illinois’ Maoist State Representative
By: Trevor Loudon | New Zeal
The voters of Evanston, Illinois are poised to re-elect a veteran Maoist radical as their State Representative.
Robyn Gabel is a long-time resident of Evanston and has represented the people of the 18th District in the Illinois House of Representatives since 2010.
During her time in the legislature, she has been a legislative leader in protecting and fostering the growth of children and women in Illinois and environmental stewardship. Robyn serves as the Chair of the House Human Services Committee, the Vice-Chair of the House Human Services Appropriations Committee, and as a member of the committees on Insurance, Environment, Mass Transit, Business Growth and Incentives, and Museums, Arts and Cultural Enhancements.
In the 1980s, Robyn Gabel was a regular contributor to Unity, the newspaper of the League of Revolutionary Struggle, a militant, pro-China Maoist organization.
When the League of Revolutionary Struggle split in 1990, Unity issued a statement: “A call to build an organization for the 1990s and beyond.”
Gabel, then executive director of the Illinois Maternal & Child Health Coalition in Chicago, supported the newly founded Unity Organizing Committee, which was specifically established to infiltrate Maoists into the Democratic Party.
Rep. Gabel’s husband Ivan Handler, President at Insightamation, Chicago, is also a “former” Maoist.
In his book, “The Passage: Memoir of a Boston Undercover Cop in the ’60s,” Phillip M. Vitti explained that Ivan Handler was one of the leaders of the radical Weathermen, which was a precursor to the terrorist Weather Underground Organization.
Also a League of Revolutionary Struggle supporter, comrade Handler was active in the 1990s in the Committees of Correspondence, an alliance of former Communist Party USA members, Maoists, Trotskyists and anarchists.
Robyn Gabel is also close to her local Congresswoman and fellow Marxist, Jan Schakowsky, a long time covert member and supporter of Democratic Socialists of America.
Schakowsky’s husband, Robert Creamer, yet another old Marxist (New American Movement) has been recently implicated in Democratic Party voter fraud and violence instigation scandals.
Congresswoman Jan Schakowsky (IL-9) announced on Oct. 10, 2009 that she is endorsing Robyn Gabel in the Democratic primary for the Illinois’ 18th House District. Gabel was running to succeed Rep. Julie Hamos (D-Evanston), who left her seat to run for U.S. Congress in the 10th Congressional District.
“Robyn stands up for what she believes in,” said Rep. Schakowsky. “That is what her history has been about, that is what she has been dedicated to. We know how effective she is in actually getting things done, its not just talk. I know she will be able to hit that ground running, which is what we need in our district.”
Rep. Schakowsky, who was traveling to Afghanistan as part of a Congressional mission, made the remarks via video to a crowded room at Ms. Gabel’s new campaign office – 906 Sherman Ave. The event marked the official kick-off of Ms. Gabel’s campaign for State Representative.
“I am honored and humbled by Congresswoman Schakowksy’s endorsement and support,” said Ms. Gabel. “Our community has had a strong history of progressive leadership in Springfield with Jan Schakowsky and Julie Hamos. I hope to follow in their footsteps by continuing to fight for our children, families and community.”
Communists can always be relied on to stick together, to help each other climb the political ladder. They can also be relied on to keep each other’s secrets.
The good people of Evanston deserve better than to be represented by two covert Marxists.
Trevor Loudon is the producer of a new documentary exposing Marxists and Muslim Brotherhood sympathizers in the US government: The Enemies Within.
